Speaker 2 (0:01) If you felt lonely, isolated, disconnected, with an empty feeling inside and just yearning for more, knowing something is missing, then this podcast is for you. So here's your host, Joe Mitiga. Speaker 1 (0:27) Hello, and welcome to WE. Have you ever reached a point in your life where you were genuinely excited about the person you are becoming? But at the exact same time you felt completely overwhelmed by what you might have to leave behind? I certainly know that experience. Speaker 1 (0:49) For so much of my life, I thought growth meant adding things. You know, learning more, achieving more, becoming stronger, having more success. But I'm beginning to understand that sometimes becoming isn't about adding anything at all. Sometimes becoming requires letting go. And for me, quite honestly, that can be really scary. Because the person I used to be, it wasn't all bad. That person survived things. That person built relationships. He created a life, made mistakes, experienced success, endured a lot of pain, and somehow got me here. There are parts I'm grateful for. And there are parts I simply don't need anymore. And that's what makes this stage of personal growth so complicated. How do we become someone new without feeling like we're abandoning who we used to be? How do I let go of old beliefs, old behaviors, old relationships, old expectations, and quite honestly, even old dreams, without believing that everything that came before was somehow wrong? Speaker 1 (2:14) Maybe that's why becoming can feel so overwhelming. Because sometimes we're not just changing what we do. Sometimes we're changing who we believe we are. And when our identity begins to change, everything around us can start to feel different. Things that once motivated us may not motivate us anymore. The approval we once needed may not matter as much. The success we spent years chasing may no longer feel like success. Some relationships may change. Some dreams may change. And even the way we see ourselves may change. And there's a strange emotional place between the person we were and the person we're becoming. Speaker 1 (3:08) We're not completely who we used to be anymore, but we're not completely comfortable being the new person yet either. We're somewhere in between. And maybe that's not a bad place to be. Maybe that's where transformation actually happens. Because I'm beginning to realize that I don't have to hate the old version of myself in order to become a new version of myself. I can thank him. I can forgive him. I can love him. And I can let him go. Maybe emotional growth isn't about rejecting our past. Maybe it's about finally understanding that our past brought us here, but it doesn't have to determine where we go next. And that's where trust comes in. I don't have to know exactly who I'm going to become. I don't have to know exactly what my life will look like. I don't have to have every answer. Maybe, just maybe, I simply have to trust the person emerging from all of this healing, pain, growth, faith, and experience is the person I'm supposed to become. So today we're going to talk about that strange place between letting go and becoming. We're going to talk about why growth can feel like loss. Why becoming someone new can make us grieve parts of ourselves we thought we'd never needed. Why sometimes run back to an old identity simply because it's familiar. And most importantly, we're going to talk about how to let go without being afraid that we're losing ourselves. Speaker 1 (5:08) Because maybe I'm not losing myself at all. Maybe for the first time in my life, I'm finally discovering myself. And maybe I don't need to be afraid of leaving a big part of me behind because I can simply be grateful that version carried me this far and trust the person I'm becoming will carry me the rest of the way. My name is Joe Mitiga, and this is we. Welcome, everybody. Welcome to the WE Podcast from around the world. It's great to have everybody here, and it's an exciting time. I got some really amazing news this week, which I'm going to talk about here a little bit later in the podcast, and I'm just thrilled. My heart is super full tonight as a consequence of this, and I'm really excited to share with all of you what's going on. You know, this particular topic, the emotional growth topic, like what the heck is it? We're going to get into that a little bit more. What is personal growth? And what's the emotional part of personal growth? And what's the spiritual part of personal growth? And why the heck do we want to do it? That's everything we're going to talk about here today. And we're going to talk about how do we know when it's actually happening? Because so very often we'll get lost and buried in the experiences of life. and we come out and, you know, we still have to pay our car payment. And, you know, our kids still need to get to school. And I don't know about you, but my sons are always hungry. So when dinner time came, it didn't matter if I was growing emotionally, spiritually, or physically. They were hungry. So I had to put all that on the shelf and get them food. So a lot of times our personal growth, emotional growth, part of our life, we don't really even take time to identify it. And that's what we're going to do here today. We're going to talk about it in more detail. I'm going to split this particular episode into the mental side of things, the emotional side of things, and the spiritual side of things, and try to put words on the actual different components and how we recognize growth and what growth really is. And then, of course, I always tie it back into why the heck do we want to do it and what's the reward, like what's in it for us. And that's what today's podcast is going to be about. The Generation of Change is literally kind of my foundation concept of why the WE Podcast is so important to me. It's just something I genuinely believe. I firmly believe with all my heart that the WE Podcast is a catalyst to heal humanity. And my goal is 100 million downloads a month. My ultimate goal is to help 100 million people. understand that they are a spiritual being having a human experience and the way that you commune with your spiritual connection is through emotional growth. And I say it like that because that's what happened for me. I share it all the time. I can't share anybody else's story. I can only share my own. That's why I call the We Podcast an emotional growth, human transformation podcast. My human transformation, the transformation of Joe and how I saw myself, how I identified myself, how I embraced myself from a very hateful, hurtful, ugly position to where today I consider myself a God guy. And all of that happened. All the transformation happened. The conscious shifting happened, not as a pursuit. but as the consequence of healing the emotional side of myself. And that's why for me, it's really the only message I can share is my experience, strength, and hope is the transformation that got me into a communion with a power greater than myself. It happened through emotional growth. And I try to put it into context of how and why. Well, the why. And the how is because as a human being, as an essence called being a human, we have a male side of ourselves and we have a female side of ourselves. And of course, that's not gender specific. It's not race specific. It's not religious perspective. It's literally, and it doesn't matter where you live around the globe. If you're a human being, you have two basic sides of yourself. The mental side is your physical and mental side. You know, your capacity to think, the capacity to add one plus one, the capacity to know the presidents of your country, the capacity to read, the capacity to do math. That's your mental side. Your physical side is everything physical. Lifting up a pencil, your heart beating, your lungs breathing, walking, singing, anything physical. That's on the male side of self. The other side of self is the female side. And in the female side is where our emotions live and our spiritual communion lives. It's on the feminine side of self. And why I consider us, everybody here, the generation listening to a podcast like this, the generation of change, is because our capacities to make a difference are so much grander today because of where the world lives than ever before. And as we have these capacities to commune with each other in grander ways, at the exact same time that humanity as a consciousness is waking up to a feminine side of itself more and more, all of that put together is how and why my goal of 100 million people is a very realistic thing. And quite honestly, it's realistic because in today's society, a click of a button and a million people can hear a podcast. A click of a button, literally there are podcasts out there that 20 million people listen to. And that's why I believe 100 million people is a real live thing, because the globe has 9 billion. 100 million is barely even 1%. And I believe we can affect 1%. And what is it that I'm wanting these 1 % to do? Nothing. All I'm wanting that 1 % to do is recognize and remember the truth that's already inside of them. I'm not teaching it. I'm reflecting it. I live from it. And if you're here and you keep coming back, and obviously thousands and thousands of people are, because that's what the show, the We Podcast ranks so high on the global rankings, because tens of thousands of people are connecting here. And what we're connecting from and through is the same divinity that lives in me, lives in every one of you. Literally, it's the same thing. And my capacity to communicate through my divinity, like I'm doing right now, is not unique to me. It's just here because I'm practiced with it. That's it. And you wouldn't be here. You wouldn't be able to make it through a podcast like the We Podcast. if you weren't a spiritual warrior, if you didn't have some type of communion with a power much greater than your human sense of self. And the human sense of self is the part of self that wakes you up, that brushes your teeth, that cooks your meals, that makes your decisions, that balances your checkbook. The human you. It's a beautiful, wonderful you. And the guidance system of the human self is changing from a human perspective. to a divinity perspective. And we're going to talk about that in the spiritual growth side portion of this episode a little bit later. And why I continue to say that we're the generation of change, technology is one of the reasons. It really is. And literally, why and what am I doing here? What is Joe's... ultimate reason for doing this. And my ultimate reason for doing all of this is to reflect back to people because where two or more are gathered, God is there. I mean, I don't know if you've ever heard that phrase. And when you can hear from somebody else, whatever it is I'm saying, and you're connecting with it in some way, and everybody's connection is going to be different, there's me and you. the you is the listeners and in this case this podcast probably a hundred thousand have maybe a half a million people will hear this podcast and it's such an infinite thing because technology allows it and divinity the spiritual essence of self is in all human things all human beings and i personally believe in all beings four-legged creatures the animals of the world i believe that the rocks of the world have a spirit Now, I don't talk about all the rest of that stuff because I'm not an expert in any of that. I'm not. There are plenty of people out there that have a lot more wisdom associated with that. But those are just my beliefs. And I want to continue to reiterate because I talk about the spiritual essence, the oneness, the divinity, the God inside of us. And, you know, I get pushback. People ask me, well, Joe, are you religious? And I said, yes. And they said, what religion are you? I say all of them. And they said, well, Joe, that can't be. I'm like, why not? Well, because you have to choose. I said, said who? Like who said I have to choose? Well, my religion says you have to choose. And that's my point. I push back on that. I push back on the human perspective. In Joe's belief, all religion is based on two concepts. One God, live and love. All of them. you dissect any modern day religion and it gets back to those two things one god and love and that's what i believe i really do and in my world in my communication and i want people to understand this clearly i am not in any way shape or form trying to talk with you about your eternal life what happens to you after you are dead What's the next phase for you? I don't know. And most religions, that's what their focus is. Live a particular way on the human plane, and then when you transcend, you get to go wherever your religion says you get to go. Folks, that is two different topics. I am not in any way, shape, or form talking about your eternal life. I'm talking about your decision-making process of today. Right now, the 27th day of September. How are you being guided tomorrow morning? That's Joe's conversation. Not what happens to you after you die. That's a different topic for people much wiser than me. And that's what their expertise is, not mine. So my whole premise is in all religion, there's a special deity. In all personal growth. that there's a higher sense of self. My question isn't what you call it. My question is, are you following it? And if you're not, why? Well, I get into the whys. The whys, you're not following a power greater than yourself. It's got too many voices in your head. And those voices are all based in wound, all of them. Now that I will have a strong challenge to. The whole world of people out there that live in the belief that the positive affirmation causes true change. I believe it does in the moment. But it doesn't heal. It doesn't heal because if it literally healed and you did a positive affirmation on a Tuesday, you wouldn't have to do it again on a Thursday because the voice that you had the positive affirmation against, the only reason you're trying to change that voice is because that's a voice of a glass empty part of you. You wouldn't be changing, hey, I want to make a million dollars. Nobody does a positive affirmation against, hey, I'm all love, or I want to make a million dollars, or I'm going to give back. heal the world no one does positive affirmations trying to change those parts minds they do a positive affirmation trying to change the voice and the belief system of a glass empty i'm not good enough i'm not well enough i'm too fat i'm too stupid i'm too ugly i'm too whatever those voices well you can do a positive affirmation do it all you want if it worked you wouldn't have to do it again it doesn't calms in the moment is it a good thing of course it's a good thing Does it heal anything? No. How do I know? Because you have to keep doing it over and over. Fact. It's just the facts. My message and my relationship to all glass empty voices is the glass empty voice is what you hear in your head. The reason you have the glass empty voice is a hole in your heart, is a hurt in your heart. And that's where we get into the emotional growth component. We really do. And the whole idea of growing, of becoming a different us, the personal growth concept, it's a universal concept because we all are on this planet. We're all here this time around to grow. The ultimate growing is the grander communion between you and a power greater than you. Why? Because if you can live in communion with a power greater than yourself, and that communion, that power is guiding you, then your now moment Tuesday morning is just better. It feels better. You feel better. You feel more abundant. You feel more whole. You feel more happy. Versus waking up on that same Tuesday morning with those glass-empty voices beating the crap out of you. And that's why we do it. Truly, it feels good. And it's a wonderful glass full experience. So the whole idea of becoming a new you, that whole process is something that is, I put in the phrase of human transformation of consciousness. We are transforming our consciousness. And our consciousness is the part of self that identifies the world relative to us. Your consciousness is the one that's driving your car. Your consciousness is the one that makes the decision to turn right or left. Your consciousness is the part of you that makes decisions, yes or no, right or wrong, left or right, up or down. That's your consciousness. And your consciousness also has a self-perception. And if you're full of hurt, and full of angst and full of pain, the way you see yourself is going to be those glass-empty voices. The way your self-worth, how you value you, is going to be lower if your voices are causing, are saying glass-empty adjectives about you, how you feel about yourself, which is self-worth, you're going to feel less worthy. You're going to feel... more empty you're going to feel more pain so self-identification how we see ourself is how the voices identify us how we feel about ourself self-worth how we feel about ourselves and then personal integrity is based on do we trust ourselves and we're going to talk about those different components that's each one of those could be an entire podcast but we're going to talk about it today in a general way And why is that? Because we are growing, literally, personally, spiritually, emotionally growing. And it's happening whether you want it to or not. It just is. Now, is it happening for everybody? No, no, it's not happening for most. That's why I say 100 million people. Why? That's only 1%. And what does that look like? You're in church. and you got a relatively medium-sized church, a smaller church, 100 people, you might be the only person in that entire building that knows you can hear your thoughts. People that have the conscious capacity to hear their thoughts are unique spiritual beings. Good or bad? No. Better or worse? No. Spiritual path different? Yes. And that's what the WE Podcast is here to mirror back. The whole concept of more and more and more and more and more people are identifying themselves as spiritual versus religious, that's a real-life thing. And I would venture to say a lot of you on this podcast are sensing that. And for many of you, it's not an either or. It's a together both. I support numerous people that are spiritually waking up. And where they find their answers, they ask questions, they find their answers while they're reading the Bible based on their religious beliefs. So growing spiritually is not a battle against religion in any way, shape, or form. It's not. Now, for some people like me, religious structures never worked for Joe. That's just me. For most, it's both. And we're going to talk about that in more length, the spiritual growth and what's happening. And quite honestly, what's the difference between religion and spirituality? We're going to talk about that further. The
