Speaker 4 (0:21) Hello and welcome to Watch What Crap Is, a podcast about all that crap on Bravo that we just love to talk about. I'm Ben Mandelker and joining me today is the one and only Ronnie Karam. Hi, Ronnie. How's it going over Speaker 2 (0:33) there? Good. What's going on with you today? Speaker 4 (0:37) Not much. You look nice and comfy over there in the ACAS studios. Did you have a very fun time circling Manhattan last night with some Bravo Leberties? Speaker 2 (0:49) Yes, it was fun. Austin and Hannah. It was a good time. Thanks to everybody who came out. It was great times. You know, I've never seen the Statue of Liberty up that close. Speaker 4 (0:59) Isn't it crazy? Speaker 2 (1:00) It is. It's so beautiful. I lived in Staten Island when I was 18, so I passed that thing every day. But I feel like she was smaller. She was just so majestic. Speaker 4 (1:10) Yeah. You know? It's kind of amazing. Speaker 2 (1:13) Hey, everybody. It's my mom, Pets. She's still out there. Raising her arm like, do I smell? Speaker 4 (1:19) Yeah. She's a sight. She's a sight. She should become a Real Housewife. Well, guess what? Real Housewives of New York is tomorrow. And I've already seen that episode. I don't know if you have, but I'll tell you, it was quite funny. It was quite funny. But today, we are talking Below Deck, which is just having such a crazy season. Below Deck, man. Before we dive into that, everyone, the tour is starting soon. We're in the mix. Watch for Craps in the Mix Tour. And we are starting our tour in Kansas City. We're starting it in Kansas City on October 3rd, Saturday, October 3rd. So come join us. We cannot say whether or not Taylor Swift will be there, but there may be someone named Taylor there, and there may be someone who's moving swiftly. So who knows? Yeah, we Speaker 2 (2:08) can't say she's not going to be there. Speaker 4 (2:10) Yeah, we can't make any promises of whether or not Taylor Swift will be there, but she might be there. Speaker 2 (2:15) You don't know who's going to be there. Al Pacino could be there. Speaker 4 (2:18) Literally all those people could be there, guys. We can't make any promises. But I'm just going to say right now, there is a chance that Taylor Swift could be there. I mean, technically, there's a chance. She could be like, this is the time I want to go. But that's going to be on October 3rd, and then Chicago is the very next night. And then we have Minneapolis and Detroit later in October. So we're starting off in the Midwest, and it's going to be amazing. Also, on Patreon, come join us for the Patreon experience. We recorded a bonus episode yesterday that is a trailer trash of The Golden Life. which is essentially old school Aroni down in Palm Beach. So we had a fun time with that. It was very funny. It looks like it'll be a good time. And Patreon has so much more to offer. We have Crappies on Demand, ad-free listening on audio, all that great stuff. So get the full experience and wonderful Discord community. Whoa. So join us all there. You Speaker 2 (3:22) know what? People keep asking me why it looks so amazing still. You know? Ramona on that. I did nothing. I did nothing. I just didn't actually look young and amazing. I look the way I do because I did nothing. Speaker 4 (3:37) Okay. Speaker 2 (3:38) Oh, today is all about. Oh, by the way, I was watching the game yesterday because I was with the straight guy. Whoa. Watch the game. Speaker 4 (3:48) Yeah. Team was playing Kansas City Speaker 2 (3:51) Chiefs. Speaker 4 (3:52) Yeah. Speaker 2 (3:53) And somebody else who wasn't a red team. I think they were blue. Speaker 4 (3:57) Colorado, perhaps. Flag Speaker 2 (3:59) boys. Like they were doing a flag boy dance when I was watching it. You know, like flag dancing. That's what it's called, right? Flag dancing. Uh Speaker 4 (4:07) -huh. I feel Speaker 2 (4:09) problematic saying that. Flag dancing. That's a thing. And so that was great. But also the Kelsey brother was up there. I was like, oh, that that's kind of a cute bear. And he's like, right. This is Kelsey. Whatever. Very well. I'm used to him looking like a duck dynasty. Speaker 2 (4:29) dirty are Speaker 4 (4:30) you talking about are you talking about travis or um what's his face the brother i'm blanking on his name but you know travis kelsey and the other kelsey the bear kelsey the real bear the other one the other one who's yes why can't i actually follow him on instagram i don't actually follow travis kelsey but i follow the other kelsey and i can't even remember his name i'll look it up Speaker 2 (4:56) He's also one of the biggest podcasters in the world. So maybe we should get some respect. So it's not even, it's just that you, you know, you do sports and that automatically. I do. It just, sports automatically turns my brain even more off. So I just don't understand it. But anyway, he was up there. And my whole point is people who look like you're from Duck Dynasty, really all it takes is a beard trim. Just shape it. And then look, I mean, the guy was just so cute. Speaker 4 (5:22) He is adorable. He has like a, he's just, he's got nice eyes. He's got warm eyes. I saw, actually speaking of Taylor Swift, I saw a clip this morning. I guess Taylor Swift was in attendance of that Kansas City game, much like she might be at our crapping show. I mean, who knows? But she was there in the booth with Tom Cruise and they just, they were showing this footage of them talking. She looked so bored talking to Tom Cruise. I was cracking up. Because you know Taylor Swift, she normally has, she normally smiles, like a big goofy smile. And she's like, ah! Like she's always like so excited about every single thing and she could not have been more serious She was giving that look like she was stuck Next to someone on the airplane having to make small talk about Brochures she's like mm-hmm Wow, yeah, and you know he was like and when I filmed Mission Impossible 3 They said this time you have to get a stunt man. I said no I'm not gonna do a stunt man because that's something I'm not gonna do some man. She's like yeah. Well, that's yeah. Well, you know, it's the business Speaker 2 (6:23) That's so weird. I was just talking about Tom Cruise last night. Because Austin, someone said, what have you learned from being on the show? And he's like, you know, the therapy is okay. And I go to therapy and I've worked through a lot of stuff in therapy and stuff. And I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa. Like, you're still on the show. I don't need people going on the shows and getting over-therapized because you still need to be on Bravo and be a mess, you know? Speaker 4 (6:46) Yeah. Speaker 2 (6:47) And he was like, well, thanks. Thanks a lot. Thanks for the support. And I was like, well, you know, it's like Tom Cruise hurt his back one time when he was doing Mission Impossible because he was doing his own stunts. And that sounds sad and everything, but it's not like I don't want him to hurt his back because it was a good stunt. You know what I mean? And he just looked at me like, no, I don't know what you mean. And so it was a really insensitive moment for me. But Tom Cruise was involved and here he is again this morning. So what the hell does that mean for my life? Speaker 4 (7:17) I don't know, but I just hope that Austin's therapist is not the same as Craig's. Speaker 4 (7:25) Craig's therapist is going to now like, it's like my therapist told me I have to heal my inner child and then it developed a chemical weapon and destroyed some country. Speaker 2 (7:36) Craig, you're talking to Putin. Okay. Speaker 4 (7:41) I would love that. Actually, I would love it if like Vladimir Putin was actually like secretly Craig's therapist, like Vladimir, he gets his release. He's like, I'm so people think I'm such a bad guy, but actually. On the side, I provide therapy for a sweet man in Carolinas. Someone called Speaker 2 (7:57) wrong number one day, I picked up and I talked him through it. Speaker 4 (8:02) I get free pillows now. That's something AI cannot do. Speaker 2 (8:06) I told him, you know what you should do? Take it to bed and dream on it. And he said pillow. And the rest is history. Thank you very much. Speaker 4 (8:15) We have developed a new AI. Speaker 2 (8:17) We Speaker 4 (8:18) developed a new AI model based off of Craig Conover's brain. Oh, God. You have to start with the regular Speaker 2 (8:25) eye to get there. Speaker 4 (8:26) We've heard of artificial intelligence. What's artificial stupidity? Speaker 2 (8:32) R.S. Real stupidity. That would be this Speaker 4 (8:37) podcast at the moment. Yeah, Speaker 2 (8:39) exactly. Here we are with Below Deck Season 11, Episode 15, Chips on the Shoulder. Speaker 4 (8:48) Well, guess what? This is a great episode for Jen losing her mind. Hilarious. Hilarious work here by her resident adorable psychopath. Speaker 2 (8:59) So she is really like a cartoon Looney Tune. She's like Lucy from The Peanuts, you know? She's Speaker 1 (9:08) like, ah! Speaker 2 (9:09) Don't get her way, and her mouth just opens really wide and looks like, ah! Speaker 4 (9:15) She reminds me of a 1994, a mid-90s cast member of The Real World. Her nuttiness is at that level of someone who's going to hide a jar of peanut butter or something. Or, I don't know, maybe throw a teddy bear into the Seattle... Speaker 4 (9:42) into the waters of seattle i don't know like like all those all those petty moments that happened on the real world in the 90s that had like a certain kind of vibe to them like that's what jen is to me yeah Speaker 2 (9:53) well jen has just realized that the flowers that were sent were not for her they are for joy instead so she has a like this Speaker 1 (10:04) charter i'm out of here this is ridiculous i don't absorb this and Speaker 2 (10:08) she storms off and then the new guy just goes Well, she really doesn't like flowers, huh? Speaker 4 (10:15) Nathan's like, yeah, one of the old dachshunds sent flowers to the chef, but the stewardess that was holding them was the girl he was sleeping with. And Massey's like, oh, what the fuck is going on? These guys need to be very handsome to cause all this trouble without even being here, or he's got a fucking golden dick. I do not know. I'm like, he's got abs and pecs, and there are limited options, so that's how this happens. Speaker 2 (10:37) You know, don't underestimate tall male privilege. Those guys really get it all. The world parts. It's like the sea parting. They're like, wow, a tall man's coming through. Speaker 1 (10:49) Watch out, everybody. And Speaker 2 (10:50) then the guys all look at him. Anybody under that height just looks at him like, wow, wonder Speaker 1 (10:56) what it looks like up Speaker 2 (10:57) there. Speaker 4 (10:58) I Speaker 1 (10:58) know. Speaker 2 (10:59) It's the Statue of Liberty. Speaker 4 (11:02) It's legitimately crazy. I mean, you saw, I'm sure, firsthand last night with Austin. Like, Austin, the amount of times people, like, the amount of goo-goo-ga-ga eyes that follow Austin, purely because he's tall, is shocking. Speaker 2 (11:16) Well, yeah. I mean, I was one of them. I told him. I was like, oh, my God. I forget how hot you are in person. And Hannah said, I think it's the height, honey. Speaker 1 (11:28) It is. Speaker 2 (11:29) A high privilege. I mean, that is a real thing. And he also has hair privilege. Speaker 4 (11:33) Yes, he does. Speaker 2 (11:34) You know, that's also really unfair. But anyway, you know, the point is I'm super happy for him. Speaker 4 (11:42) So I hope he goes great. I hope Austin goes great. I hope his hair turns like bright white. So that way, like when that happens, he will look like a founding father. His Speaker 3 (11:53) hair is as thick as a powdered Speaker 4 (11:54) wig. Speaker 2 (11:58) Yeah. I don't hope that other people like, like, I don't hope that he loses hair or gets shorter, you know, but I don't necessarily hope that I grow hair or grow taller either. I mean, what would I have to complain about? Speaker 1 (12:11) So I'm just, I'm just really happy the way things are. Speaker 2 (12:15) I'm happy for him. Congratulations on being able to reach the top shelf every single time without a little step stool that you keep falling off of because you have no coordination. I'm really happy for you. Speaker 4 (12:25) Yes, congratulations. You were able to reach your backup bottle of fly-by-jing. Speaker 2 (12:35) So now we go to Jen and Kat's cabin and H is like, oh, are you feeling okay? It's all right to lose sometimes, you know? It's like, that was humiliating. I mean, everything with my wrist, like that's like a real disability. Like I've dropped two trays. That's a huge thing. And then just not getting the things I wanted out of the season, mostly because you're an asshole and wouldn't give them to me. And then like, now this whole Luke thing Speaker 1 (12:57) is like, it's really hard to pull things together. You know, it's just been really rough, but I've really been pulling it together just to be professional. when Speaker 2 (13:03) were you pulling it Speaker 1 (13:04) together Speaker 2 (13:04) you have not pulled it together one time literally Speaker 4 (13:07) nothing has been pulled together ever this entire season also Speaker 2 (13:12) please don't pull things together yeah Speaker 4 (13:15) i mean she's she will 100 be back i believe she will she is gonna be now on the le track so asia is like let Speaker 3 (13:23) me put you in laundry for the next charter so i just have a breather and think things over Speaker 4 (13:28) which seems like it'll be a nice idea. She can just sort of be in solitary confinement and just like relax, but that just gives her time to brew with her thoughts. So it's actually the worst idea of all time. Speaker 2 (13:40) I mean, she even finds a way to be evil from laundry, which is great for you. That's what your parents like. Speaker 1 (13:46) Oh, you know what? Just go to your room and just relax and have a think up there. And Speaker 2 (13:52) she goes up to her room and she starts the house on fire, you Speaker 4 (13:54) know? Yeah. It doesn't always work that Speaker 2 (13:57) way. Classic. I would just jump out my roof. I was on the second story, but I would crawl out onto the garage roof and then climb down the... I would sneak out, is what I'm saying. Speaker 2 (14:10) I always would have been a good time to be tall. I really hurt myself not being able to reach anything back then either, even with my toes. Speaker 4 (14:18) I really applaud people who sneak out of rooms or houses because I'll tell you one thing. I was raised on a single-story house. So if I had to sneak out the window, which I never would do because I'm a good boy, but if I ever had to, it would be just a very simple go out the window. kids that are on the second floor that have to like go out the window and then climb down a tree. I'm like, no, I'm staying in. I am not bringing my ankle. Oh, Speaker 2 (14:46) I just, you know, I've never broken anything, but I fell off that thing so many times. I can't believe I still have hips. Speaker 4 (14:52) Yeah. I, I, I don't know. I feel like it's, that's definitely some movie magic. You know, the teenagers just appear in each other's windows. I'm like, realistically, that's not a very simple thing to do. You have to hope there's a tree nearby. you have to hope that like the tree is like shaped in a way that can like support it. Like, like where do you get your purchase? Like, how do you do that? Like how you do that? So I just want to say all those kids sneaking in and out of windows, all the teenagers, I don't believe half of them. Speaker 2 (15:21) That was me. I did it. I did it. And I was punished for it. And really, what was I even doing? I wasn't going out to drink or do anything fun. I would just walk around the neighborhood with my friends. Like walk on literal train tracks. Just walk on train tracks. Speaker 1 (15:35) Wow. Speaker 2 (15:36) And now I won't even leave the house or get out of my bed. So it surely does change things. Speaker 4 (15:42) You're basically a goonie. Speaker 2 (15:44) Yeah, I tried to be. I even bought sneakers and cut the soles off. And then I took the springs out of the toilet paper rolls to put in the bottom so they could like pop like the kid from the Goonies. I thought he was so cool. And then I had all my friends call me Chunk. And then I just started eating only ice cream and gained a ton of weight. Speaker 4 (16:04) I remember you did that part. Speaker 2 (16:08) Now that we're thinking about it. It's time for a commercial. Speaker 2 (16:15) What Speaker 4 (16:18) if there was like below deck Goonies and it was just like a below deck season that takes place on that boat? Speaker 4 (16:30) And like the Speaker 2 (16:31) charter guests for sailing every, Speaker 4 (16:35) every, every week there's the, it's always the same charter guests. It's just that it's like, ma, what's her face in her, in her kids. Like, Oh God, these guys are the worst. They're so demanding. Speaker 2 (16:47) Yeah. These kids keep taking, taking things and making wacky sales out of it. It's all baby Ruth. rappers making a sale and it's Speaker 4 (16:57) that injured and like no jerry o'connell wasn't in the hughes in stand by me never mind thank god anyway Speaker 2 (17:04) um cat is still i mean i was gonna say still with us but i don't mean like alive but Speaker 4 (17:10) sean aston right oh Speaker 2 (17:12) yeah Okay. Anyway, the point is, Jen is affiliated and her restaurant. So she was thrown into laundry and she takes it as, you know, a favor. She's like, thank you. Thank you so much for putting me in laundry. You Speaker 1 (17:25) know what? I do care about you. I really, really do. Right. Please just be quiet and don't ever say anything. I do care about you. I Speaker 2 (17:37) care about you the same way I care about, you know, animals that haven't been adopted. Like, I know they're there. I know they need my help and they'll probably be put down at some point. And I feel bad, but I'm not going there. Speaker 4 (17:52) You care about them in an abstract sense, but you're not like. Speaker 4 (17:57) You're not like, you know, like I care about you. Like it's Speaker 2 (18:00) not Speaker 4 (18:00) a high priority. Yeah. You know, not a high priority care for you. It's now here comes the hate letters for Speaker 2 (18:07) you, but there's nothing I'm going to do. Speaker 4 (18:09) Yeah. You know, we're going to get some emails now. You know, when you mentioned that, that was like so upsetting to me because as someone who works in a shelter, I just felt like that you were really just like, it could have been better for you. We're going to, we apologize. We were aspiring to help, but we just. don't so Speaker 2 (18:27) i care about that the same way that i care about you know an extinct fish in the in a sea that i've never been to it's like i know it's a problem it's just it's not mine you know Speaker 4 (18:40) how about this okay because i do feel bad because i i think we want to save the our our adorable animals that are in the shelters that need to be adopted so we do care about that is Speaker 2 (18:49) adopted i mean come on yeah but Speaker 4 (18:51) how about
