I think Maddie's Speaker 1 (4:00) figured out if she can prove the model, then she can bolt and she won't have to see any of us except virtually. I think she's got to prove the model. He's recovering from some back issues, and he's listening today because Maddie's with him taking care of him, just like a daughter would do. So when I sat down today by myself, because Maddie's not here, even though she was talking in my ears, someone sent me, and I mean, look at this thing, if you can see. They sent me an ESV version with the biggest letters that I've ever seen. You can literally read this from your home if I open it. So I don't need glasses now. And look, this is also a weapon. We know it's a weapon of mass instruction. But, I mean, this is also if someone tried to rob me if I ever decided to shave my beard, you could use this. I mean, it has to weigh at least, I would say, seven pounds. Wow. I mean, listen to this. Listen to Speaker 2 (7:00) the sound. Speaker 2 (7:02) All I did was set it down. Speaker 3 (7:04) I love it. So thank you, whoever sent that, because now I have an option. I Speaker 2 (7:09) do study with the ESV. And you know, it's interesting, Jase, I was in Mankato, Minnesota, speaking this weekend as well, which is why I didn't send you a text, which I normally would do on your birthday. But it was at a Lutheran church. The event was, it was a men's day. And I wasn't super familiar with the Lutherans because I haven't been to a lot of Lutheran events. So I looked up. I was just curious. I was like, what version of the Bible would most Lutherans use? And of course, I guess they're like every other group. They have schisms. So this group would do this, this group that. But it said, AI said, that the biggest group of Lutherans used the ESV, which I thought was. because we use that, Zach uses that. I studied with the ESV and a half for years, but I'm like Jace, I'm stuck to the NIV because all my memorization is from there. And so you just kind of have to do both. I wonder if they make one of those ESV. It's Speaker 1 (8:09) because it's more of like the reformed camp likes the ESV version the best. Okay. And if you look inside, Speaker 3 (8:16) when you get into this, I have no idea what you're talking about. I don't know who the reformed camp is. is because I missed all that while we were at a bar when I was a kid. Speaker 1 (8:26) You missed the reform part? The Reformation. It wasn't a big deal. People use those categories. There was a little small thing in history called the Reformation. Martin Speaker 2 (8:34) Luther. But what I'm saying is I don't want to waste time in figuring out. in history when when there was some kind of movement i mean the main movement that i want to research is the one that happened right before x chapter 2 and right after Speaker 3 (9:07) So there you go. Speaker 2 (9:08) That's not a bad place to hang out. It is good to Speaker 1 (9:12) know the different theological trajectories that people are on. You take the Lutheran Church, for example. They have had some schisms, and rightly so. The more conservative group, I think it's called the Missouri Senate Lutherans, but they've kind of held to more the conservative. Speaker 1 (9:34) When I say conservative, I just mean not going into theological liberalism, which would essentially deny the deity of Christ, deny the authority of Scripture, things like this. And you see a lot of the mainline Protestant churches have left historic Christianity. Methodist Church, Episcopal Church, the Lutheran Church, a lot of the Presbyterian Church, the PCUSA. So I do think it matters because churches will drift into liberalism, and they will ultimately, outside holding to sound doctrine, they will. But people tend to move towards— But even Speaker 2 (10:12) our wing, Zach, that we kind of grew up in, I mean, they split into versions, and one of those is exactly what you're describing. So I think almost every group has that. Speaker 3 (10:23) This is so crazy to me because Zach is like— The ninth wonder of the Christian world. I'm Speaker 1 (10:35) waiting to see if this is an insult or a compliment. Speaker 3 (10:38) It'll be a bit of both. Right behind Cy, my uncle Cy's dog. There we go. She's the eighth wonder. How can a denomination be on the track following Christ, disciples of Christ, and then how does the drift into apostasy happen? I've always been very curious of that. So I have studied a lot of church history just honestly out of curiosity. I don't want that to happen to me. But Speaker 3 (14:02) how did you retain that? It's so impressive.
