Speaker 6 (0:00) Now that summer is winding down and we're getting back into Speaker 7 (0:02) our routines, I'm trying to be more intentional about taking Speaker 6 (0:05) a few minutes for myself. And that is why I love Merit's five minute morning routine. I start with the Great Skin Serum, then use the Minimalist for a quick buildable coverage. The Flush Balm gives me that natural flushed look. Then I add the Clean Volume Mascara and I'm ready to go. Everything blends and layers really easily. So there's no complicated routine or a million. steps. Fall is such a busy time, so I love having a routine that helps me feel put together without taking a lot of time, especially as I'm taking care of the kids. It really gives me those few minutes to get ready for my own day. The flush balm is definitely my go-to because I can use it on my cheeks and my lips. These are all products that I can take with me on the go. I can do them in my car really quickly after a Pilates class, and I feel very put together. Welcome back to another exciting episode of the Vile Files Reality Recap Edition. I'm your host Nick, joined by my wonderful stunning wife. Thank Speaker 6 (2:40) you. I am here. We Speaker 5 (2:41) also got Jimmy and Susie with us today. How are you guys doing? What were you guys up to this weekend? How's it going? I Speaker 7 (2:50) had a great weekend. Honestly, I feel like I caught up with the girls. I had like... Back-to-back brunch. I had like a brunch at 10 and then a late lunch at 1. Oh my gosh. Yeah. Speaker 4 (3:00) Two Speaker 5 (3:00) different groups of girlfriends or was it like one a date? Speaker 7 (3:02) Yeah, it was two different friends we were catching up and I was like, I can't, you know. Speaker 5 (3:07) What stopped you from bringing everyone together? One Speaker 7 (3:11) was a bachelor friend. One was like L.A. Speaker 7 (3:17) Moved here, became like one of my first friends. Separate groups. And honestly, they would have been fine, but I feel like tea needed to be spilled. And I didn't want anyone to hold back. You know what I mean? I wanted full tea from both sides. Are Speaker 4 (3:30) you a bottomless mimosas girly like at brunch? Are you into that kind of outing? I Speaker 7 (3:35) would be, but I get headaches. But like that is my vibe, you know, but like bottomless tequila. I Speaker 4 (3:41) always feel left out. It's like such a girls thing. Like girls always go for bottomless mimosas. I never get invited to those. Well, Speaker 6 (3:47) we found out last night. I got an email from Rivers teacher that there was no school this morning because of parent teacher conferences. And it literally, it reminded me of when I was a kid and why my mom was so strict on me, not playing hooky because it's like, it really throws off the whole day. I was like, Oh no, she doesn't have school tomorrow. What are we going to do? What's Speaker 4 (4:10) hooky? Speaker 6 (4:10) You've never heard that term. You don't know what hooky is? You Speaker 4 (4:13) never heard of hooky? I know what a hickey is. I know. It's when you skip school. Speaker 6 (4:17) You like act like you're sick or you like play hooky. I've never heard of that. Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Speaker 4 (4:22) Yeah, I know the movie, but I know that was called hookying. Speaker 6 (4:24) Yeah. It's not Speaker 4 (4:25) hookying. It's playing hooky. Oh, it's like in Britain where they say I'm taking a piss or I'm cracking a joke. I guess. I Speaker 6 (4:31) guess. One of those. Jimmy, what did you call a when you like had sleepovers with like your cousins or something and y'all all like. Laid a bunch of blankets on the floor and pillows on the floor. Like, what did you call that? Speaker 4 (4:43) Sleepover. Speaker 6 (4:44) No. What did you call, like, the blankets, like, that you laid down on the floor? Speaker 4 (4:49) The floor is lava? I don't know. I don't have names for these things. Can Speaker 7 (4:53) I say what I'm thinking? Yes. I'm thinking, like, fort. Like, fort or, like... Nick? Speaker 5 (4:59) No idea. What are you getting at? A pallet. Speaker 7 (5:01) A pallet? A pallet. Thank you, Justin. Speaker 6 (5:04) A Speaker 5 (5:04) pallet? Speaker 7 (5:04) Really? Speaker 4 (5:05) I think that's, like, Speaker 7 (5:06) a southern thing. Palette to me for like blankets on the floor feels like Japanese. Like when I lived in Japan, we would like put a palette on the floor, like on our work breaks and we would like take naps. I Speaker 4 (5:17) love that vibe. That Japanese minimalist kind of like you just sit on the floor and eat. That's so sick. Speaker 6 (5:23) Listen, the South, the South be stealing stuff. I wouldn't put it past them. But no, yeah, like a bunch of blankets and pillows on the floor. We went out Speaker 5 (5:33) Saturday night. Word. What'd Speaker 6 (5:35) you guys do? I know. We Speaker 5 (5:38) got some drinks. At Speaker 6 (5:39) five o'clock. Speaker 5 (5:40) Five o'clock. We went out at five. Speaker 6 (5:41) Babies, twins were sleeping. River had just woken up. My mom is here with us. And so we were like, should we go get like a happy hour drink? And we did. And the baby stayed asleep the whole time. River watched a movie. Speaker 4 (5:54) We were five minutes away. Back on the town. Back on Broadway. Did Speaker 7 (5:58) you guys like get cute? Cute-ish. Speaker 4 (6:02) Yeah, Speaker 5 (6:02) no, and now I put on Speaker 4 (6:03) perfume. She smelled like sex. Speaker 5 (6:04) I told her she smelled like when we first met and like when she get off a plane, I'd pick her up and we'd be like, we're gonna go have some sex. Ew, you Speaker 6 (6:12) can't say that. Speaker 5 (6:13) Can't say that? Yes, he can. We're gonna keep this fire alive. I Speaker 6 (6:16) haven't worn perfume in so long because of the babies. I don't want them smelling like perfume. I want them smelling like babies. So I haven't worn it in forever. And then I was like, you know what? We're going out. They're sleeping. When we get home, I'm going to take a shower. So let's just spray it Speaker 7 (6:29) up. Yeah. And I did, babes. I love that. It's actually so special to hear you guys building nostalgia. Like when you were talking about that, I'm like, wait, that's actually so cute to like have nostalgia with another person and be like, wait, this reminds me of when we first met or this reminds me of like this era in our relationship. Like that's so cute. I get reminded of that like every single day because I think I've talked about, have I talked about Speaker 6 (6:52) this Speaker 7 (6:52) before? The Dr. Bronner soap. Oh, yeah. Speaker 6 (6:55) Nick had this Dr. Bronner. I had never heard of it before him. And he had this Dr. Bronner soap when he lived in Venice in his apartment, two bedroom, tiny little apartment. And in his shower was there's like a small window. He always had it open. It's always freezing in Venice by the beach. And so I have this like vivid memory. Every time I smell it, it's like eucalyptus. I smell eucalyptus and I can feel like the cold air coming in from the window in his shower in Venice. It like takes me back every time I smell this body wash. They Speaker 5 (7:27) say a smell is the, what is, smell is the sense that's more, most connected to memory. Speaker 7 (7:33) That makes sense. Speaker 4 (7:35) What'd you do, Jimmy? What'd I do? I got roped into a couple extra nights in New York City. Speaker 7 (7:40) I think I saw that. Speaker 4 (7:41) Yeah, yeah. I had to do what I had to do. Speaker 7 (7:44) Did you have a good time? Speaker 4 (7:46) I did. And then my flight got canceled back to Chicago, so I had an extra Saturday night in New York. No biggie. And now I'm finally here. So we made it. How Speaker 6 (7:55) were your cats when you got back home? Speaker 4 (7:56) Oh, very affectionate. They missed me for sure. They're actually hanging out with me right here because it's been too long. I think they have separation anxiety. They really tweak out when I'm gone for too long. Nice. Well, Speaker 5 (8:06) we got a jam-packed episode lined up for you today. Sharna and Tyler Kammer from Dancing with the Stars are with us this episode to talk about their first dance of the week and what we can expect tonight on Dancing with the Stars, how they're feeling about their competitors this season, what we have to look forward to, assuming Tyler. continues on it's a great conversation with obviously our good friends excited for you to hear that conversation really excited about what what's in store for them this season and just also hear about how they're feeling about the rest of their competitors it's a jam-packed lineup obviously I think we still have how many couples left a lot and we obviously have an episode tonight so Tyler and Sharna are with us we also have Madeline from the Traders New Blood She is the first to be eliminated. Obviously, we'll talk about new traders, new blood. We also have the cast has been released for now. What are we? This traders, we just call it traders, traders, celebrity traders. Speaker 6 (9:01) Yeah. Anyway, Speaker 5 (9:02) we have it's a jam packed cast, including people like Brawin. We got Joey, Joey from The Bachelor. We have Craig Conover, Speaker 6 (9:12) Kristen Chinoweth. Speaker 5 (9:13) Lots of discuss when it comes to traders. Did you guys see the Patrick Clancy 60-minute interview last night? Am I the only one who saw that? Speaker 7 (9:21) No. What was it like? Speaker 5 (9:23) It was, I mean, obviously just very sad. I mean, for all the crazy discourse that's going around this case, I mean, it was my first time actually hearing from him. Obviously, he's been wrapped up in this case. Many people have even thought that he Speaker 4 (9:37) was the perpetrator in this, which Speaker 5 (9:39) feels ridiculous. uh it felt even more ridiculous listening to the interview but um yeah honestly it was just very sad my heart went out to him just kind of hearing him talk about this i think you know i just i think it's a very courageous of him for you know he he has forgiven his his ex-wife and he seemed like i just couldn't imagine being in the position that he was but um he is um yeah it was just really sad i mean it was it was very sad to hear how he Because one of his children didn't pass away right away. He made it to the hospital and he died. He passed away four days later. So he talked about how he spent those four days with his son and writing letters to his other children that had passed. His son died in his arms when he finally passed away, which is, again, just information when following the case he just didn't really hear about. It's hard to watch that video and think about how many people who have attacked this man. and followed crazy theories about his involvement in this terrible thing. The only thing, for all the people who think he did it, the biggest question I have is, Speaker 5 (10:47) wouldn't Lindsay have said anything? You know, like where, wouldn't she have been like, Hey, maybe I didn't do this. You know what I'm saying? At no point has she pointed the finger in the direction of her husband. Anyway, it was just very sad, but my heart goes obviously out to him and his family and, and what he's been through. It was really, you know, it was very heartbreaking when the interview asked if, um, cause he was like, I forgave my, I forgave her. And he asked, has she asked for your forgiveness? And he kind of thought about it. And he kind of sadly said no. Which again, I think she's just in a very bad place and very sick. I think if you have still doubts about his involvement, you should watch that interview. It's hard to watch that interview and not have anything but sympathy for that guy. But yeah, it was a touching interview. Speaker 7 (11:37) I'm glad they gave him an opportunity to speak out as well in a big platform, you know? Speaker 4 (11:41) Yeah. I just have zero faith in people that care to actually know the truth. Like, if you took the stance that he's the reason that this happened, like, I just have zero faith in people to, like, go out of their way to list to the other side. People Speaker 7 (11:54) like the sensationalized story and to, yeah, I think a lot of people were more interested in just having, it sounds sick to say, but Speaker 5 (12:03) yeah, Speaker 7 (12:03) having a take, having fun with it or whatever you want to call it. Speaker 5 (12:06) Suzy, you weren't here last week. Do you hate Cindy Sweeney like all the other ladies out there? Speaker 7 (12:10) I wasn't here last week. No, I don't. I feel like somewhat neutral. I don't know that much about her, but I obviously know the sports stuff. My take on it is that unfortunately, like for everyone that it's making angry and like people are talking about it. I'm like, you guys are doing exactly what she wants you to do. Speaker 6 (12:32) Like, that's Speaker 7 (12:33) how I feel where I'm like, OK, maybe it's a dumb ad. I don't know. I don't know what you want to call it. Maybe it's like a. a tongue-in-cheek ad that's like a little bit like eye roll whatever but I'm like everyone who's making videos saying let's stop talking about Sydney Sweetie and talk about x y and z I'm like wait you're literally promoting what she's wanting you're literally doing what she's wanting you guys to do where if we just didn't talk about it it would just go we would universally make her campaign fail if that's what your goal is it's like we don't talk about it Speaker 5 (13:05) The irony, though, is if if Sidney Sweeney was a man doing this, she wouldn't be getting the hate from her peers like she's getting. And I just think that's. Yeah. Ironic to think about what she's getting hate for, because like she's making all the money. She's the one empowered making these decisions. She is doing it for herself. And I thought if if if you have, you know, if you're going to sell sex now, you're doing it for you anymore. I saw I saw an interview with Holly Madison. One of the three kind of playmates, you know, that was kind of whatever that show was called. And they were just talking about how they don't fuck a Sidney Sweeney because they don't think she's a girl's girl. And I was just like, what does that even mean anymore? And here you have Holly Madison, who was part of this era under the wing of Hugh Hefner, one of the most probably misogynistic men ever, right? And they, you know, they've obviously survived that period of time. But like... This was a period of time where they were, they didn't have their own agency, right? They were selling their bodies and Hugh was benefiting from it. And now Cindy Sweeney is doing something similar, but not, but independently of men. And she has like, she has ownership in this company that she is promoting. And she is. selling to a target audience, men. And I'm just wondering why everyone's hating on her business acumen. And again, if she was a man, she wouldn't be getting hate like this, which is ironic given the conversation. Speaker 7 (14:36) I have to be honest, I'm not well-versed. I don't know anything about her business. Is it betting? Is it a betting business? It's a Speaker 5 (14:42) sports betting app where the customer is a horny bro. Right. It's Speaker 7 (14:49) kind of giving Robin Hood a little bit where I'm like, we're taking from the men. Like, yeah, she's taking Speaker 5 (14:54) money from horny, stupid men and putting it in her pocket. And she is marketing to these men for a for a company that my understanding she has now ownership in. And she is just cashing in. If Speaker 7 (15:08) I could give her a little Speaker 5 (15:09) bit Speaker 7 (15:10) of advice, I would just be like, let's. let's now circle back and invest in women. Like that would be the thing to do is to take what you've earned from this and be like, let's go to our public school system and create some programs to help advance women in STEM or like do something big for women. Why is Speaker 5 (15:29) that Cindy Sweeney's responsibility? Speaker 7 (15:31) It totally isn't. But I'm just saying from the perspective as like of a woman, like if I saw like whenever I see women doing cool things for women, I'm like, hell yeah. I will buy whatever product you're selling. Like I'm just, I just am pro supporting the advancement of everybody, but obviously women, cause I'm a woman. So if she were to do that, I think women would really respect that. And I think who doesn't love an entrepreneur that's giving back. I mean, look at Dolly Parton who did so much for everybody and for women. And I'm like, if she wants people to rally, if she wants to be a girl's girl, that's a way to get the girls on your team. Speaker 6 (16:08) Isn't she selling like women's sports? Isn't it about betting on women's sports? Speaker 5 (16:12) No, no, no. Speaker 6 (16:14) It's not. It's just sports in general. It's a Speaker 5 (16:15) sports betting app. I guess any women can certainly go to the sports betting app and place a bet. No, no, no, no, no, Speaker 6 (16:22) no, no. The sports themselves on the betting app. Is it women's sports? I Speaker 5 (16:27) imagine you can bet on any sport. Speaker 4 (16:29) But the Taylor, the targeted audience is men. It's, it's like. football bros no Speaker 6 (16:34) i'm sure that the audience is and she's doing the thing because i see that all of the women all of the female athletes who are so upset is because she's like representing that's Speaker 5 (16:44) the thing she's not representing women's sports she is just cosplaying and and was she like Speaker 4 (16:49) using a football to literally like cover herself she's wearing Speaker 5 (16:52) sports paraphernalia she's doing the thing like jimmy and i talked about this some plus like for since the beginning of time like you pull open an old playboy like you had playboy models and models in maxim magazine like wearing sports jerseys and like it's it's to appeal to the men young men oh you know had a poster of a a model like holding a tennis racket or holding a football it's just like Speaker 4 (17:18) cyrus michael jordan music video jersey like yeah Speaker 5 (17:21) they're just appealing it has nothing to do with women's sports Speaker 7 (17:24) I have another idea for her. Let's get women into betting and let's do a photo shoot where men were like sexualizing men and like they're holding the football in front of like their stuff. You know what I mean? And like, that'd be hilarious to Speaker 4 (17:38) get dudes to hold like pom poms and cover their privates. And Speaker 7 (17:41) like that would be such a power move. Speaker 4 (17:43) Yeah. But men wouldn't care. Yeah. Like the difference is the guys I think would be like, bro, get your bag. Speaker 7 (17:50) I don't know. I don't know. They Speaker 4 (17:52) might troll you a little bit. Speaker 7 (17:54) I think they would get trolled. I think if a guy did a shoot like that, like if a guy got glam and then literally did a shoot where he was holding a football in front of his crotch, the guys would troll the shit out of that man. There's a difference between Speaker 5 (18:06) trolling and... There's a difference between like messing with your buddy and teasing him. Speaker 7 (18:11) And canceling somebody. Speaker 5 (18:13) And calling them like dangerous to the entire gender. I Speaker 7 (18:16) will say, I do think that women in sports are like... I am so... Like... we've come so far that I'm like, I don't think Sydney Sweeney's ad is like, um, gonna set us back if that's what people are saying. Just because I'm like, we can't give, we shouldn't give anybody that power. You Speaker 5 (18:33) know what I mean? Well, but like, interesting, Natalie last week said, and you pointed out that she is playing Cassie from Euphoria, Speaker 6 (18:40) which Speaker 5 (18:40) is like, yeah, that's a good point. But like, back to like, if men were doing it, like. you know, an actor who played Batman or a superhero and they go to Comic-Con and they lean into the character that they've played and make money from it, right? Like they make, you still have a- The Comic Speaker 6 (18:54) -Con is like a set. Speaker 5 (18:55) Whatever, and what I'm saying, Tyler, Tyler, Taylor Lautner is still making money from the fact that he was a wolf 20 years ago and he's still leaning into that character and he's still leaning into like the fandom that is people who are fans of this character he played. And yeah, she played this. highly sexualized person, but she's just leaning into a character and taking the money from all these guys who want to believe that Sidney Sweeney is this character, which she's not, but that is something that actors have done since the beginning of time to lean into this character post-playing that character because people are just fans and they want to believe that they're not actually this person, they're this character they play. And she's just leaning into that and making money for herself. Speaker 4 (19:37) The thing that doesn't make it so black and white to me is the historical context. What Speaker 7 (19:40) is the context? Speaker 4 (19:41) Women have had to appease the male gaze for... eternity essentially like based on everything yeah Speaker 7 (19:49) how Speaker 4 (19:49) the world was built was built by men and women having to appease men that's the only thing that doesn't make it black and white and why i understand why women are infuriated by it but why aren't Speaker 5 (19:59) they infuriated with uh women on on only fans or like you know it's just like if Speaker 4 (20:04) that's where i don't get where we draw the line there why one is okay and why one isn't because i guess Speaker 6 (20:10) they're the Their audience on OnlyFans, we don't know what their audience is. We can Speaker 5 (20:14) assume it's mostly the same type of men who are sports Speaker 4 (20:20) betting. The Speaker 5 (20:20) horny guys sitting at home who can't get played themselves. The Double Lives of Summer. I'm sure they have a broad spectrum of fans, but I think it's predominantly men. And they're selling their bodies and sex to these men. But the difference is, is now they have ownership and agency over their choices, and they're the ones making the money. And they're no longer having to share it with like men and, you know, like, you know, porn, like porn stars back in the day, it was just a bunch of men running the industry. And like the, the, the women stars were making pennies on the dollar, you know, like it's, you know, like if Speaker 4 (20:53) Sydney Sweeney were to like get her bag and then like take all this money she took from the guys and then actually do the Robin Hood thing where she invests in like women owned businesses, boom, power play. But I think she sees the longterm playing this and she knows how provocative is she understands her market value. So she's just going to this infinite money glitch for her. Hopefully in like a decade, she decides to give it all back to women's businesses or something. But she Speaker 5 (21:15) have to give it all back to women's businesses. Why can't Speaker 4 (21:17) she just Speaker 5 (21:18) be Speaker 4 (21:18) maybe not all, but just like a little bit just to show us that like, yo, you hear us like you're on our Speaker 7 (21:23) side, at least a little bit. I don't think anyone has to do anything with their money. Like, I don't believe that. But I do believe that. Speaker 7 (21:33) like on one, I don't know how to describe it exactly, but it's kind of like, if you want, I don't know if you, it's, it's like karma. Like I just believe in karma. I believe in like being a good person. So through my belief system with that, I'm like, Sydney Sweeney, if you want to, if you want to exploit yourself and take these men's money, I'm totally cool with that. And like. I'm kind of here for it. I'm like, gambling is a really bad habit. She's exploiting them too. But Speaker 5 (21:58) like, I thought the whole idea is like, she's comfortable in her body. It's her choice. I'm just so confused by which. But I'm Speaker 7 (22:04) like, if you give it, if she gives it back, I'm like, you'll have a lot of us on your side. We'll be rooting for you. Maybe Speaker 4 (22:09) she doesn't give a fuck. Also, women's sports is just so like heated right now. It's just like a very tense arena. Speaker 7 (22:18) Women's sports, there is so much happening right now. in in general so i do i i do understand like i understand i also understand the upper and i also understand the the women who are like i just want to be taken seriously and this feels like a gut punch like i understand that i just i just want her to you know i don't know maybe she'll buy like a women's league or something i don't know but Speaker 5 (22:39) i don't think she's even a sports fan or she's that's why Speaker 7 (22:42) it's like so weird that she's doing Speaker 6 (22:44) it yeah Speaker 4 (22:45) like Speaker 6 (22:45) she's not betting on sports It's a slap in the face to every influencer out there. Like we're all like, no, we use this product. We love this product. Like buy it from us. And she's like, yeah, also look at my tits. But I sports bet. Like, no, you don't, Siddhi Sweeney. No, she's not saying she even sports bet. Speaker 5 (23:02) She is saying, hey, horny guy who likes a sports bet. Look at my titties. And he's just going to be like, yeah, no, I. You think Speaker 6 (23:11) he's going to think of her when he's betting on the Buccaneers? That's Speaker 5 (23:14) the psychology Speaker 4 (23:14) that's Speaker 5 (23:15) working here. I think, yes. I think young horny men will want to be loyal to their people, their fans of. That's what fandom is. And I think the sports betting app that no one ever heard of before she did this campaign. Here's Speaker 7 (23:30) the other issue I have with it is now the discourse around the app. is going to bring out the grimiest of the grimiest dudes who want to throw it back in women's faces. And they're going to be like, oh, well, I'm going to go do this app and bet here because this is going to piss all of these people off. Like, yeah, that is gross. Maybe if we hadn't like been so, I don't know, like up in arms about it, maybe it would have fallen off the face. I don't know. Maybe a few people would have seen it. But now because we're all freaking out about it, I do think there's going to be a group of guys who are a bunch of losers who are just like, oh, well, I'm going to invest in this just. In spite of women. Like, there's going to be some dicks that do that. Speaker 4 (24:05) Literally pray to the shrine of Sidney Sweeney, like, make my parlay hit. I don't know. If Speaker 5 (24:09) you don't want to, if you hate Sidney Sweeney, hate Sidney Sweeney. That's fine. Like, maybe she's just not for you. But like, I just, I think the arguments people are making of what she is or isn't doing, it feels kind of ridiculous. Speaker 7 (24:22) Well, we have to remember the loudest voices online are usually the not representing. the majority of how people feel, you know, but those are the loudest. True that. True that. Speaker 5 (24:31) All right. Well, up next, we have Tyler and Sharna from Dancing with the Stars talking about their first dance of this competition, what we can expect this week with their dance and just the season in general. And they are up next. Speaker 6 (24:45) Fall is a great time to get back into a self-care routine and your hair could use some extra attention. Nutrafol is here to help.
