Speaker 2 (0:09) Jackson, Claude, and Speaker 1 (0:14) show the best Speaker 1 (0:17) to know we'll start your day off swirly it's the toast they Speaker 2 (0:22) sound amazing Welcome back to the shows and happy Tuesday. I hope you guys are ready for a Nalafi. I'm just feeling like today's episode is going to be 90 minutes. Really? We have so many stories. Speaker 1 (0:32) As Speaker 2 (0:32) usual. We have to just chat about ourselves, of course, amongst ourselves. And then we also have to do your toasters. I don't know why I'm just feeling like I should get comfortable. I'm glad we have these new chairs. Oh, yeah. I Speaker 1 (0:41) feel like the stories are the stories. Is there like a lead story that you're excited to talk about? It feels like. Speaker 2 (0:49) It does feel like there is one story that I'm really excited to talk about. Okay. Well, I don't want to jump the gun. No, no, we would never. But of all the stories, don't you find that there's one that's got like a little special je ne sais quoi? I don't want to give anything away. Yeah, me neither. I hold them tight to the best. And just so I can know, like, and the people can know, like, what story do you think, what number is the one that has like all the je ne sais quoi? I don't know. Probably Speaker 1 (1:12) latter half. Speaker 2 (1:13) So like four or five. Three, Speaker 1 (1:14) four, five. Three, four, five. Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Can you keep it in your pants? I can't. Speaker 2 (1:19) It's like dancing with the stars. Which airs tonight? You know, I saw, this is not an ad, but I saw like all the, I actually felt bad when I saw like all the markets, like the prediction markets, they're all saying Jackson's going home tonight. Cause I don't know if you've seen like his big scandal. Yeah. Speaker 1 (1:32) He went for Guillermo. He was like making a comment. Yeah. And then Guillermo like finally responded being like, I think he was joking. Like trying to like get the fans Speaker 2 (1:40) to lay off of Jackson. Big mistake. But also, Speaker 1 (1:42) I think it's Jackson's time. In addition to the Guillermo. We said that last week. I can tell you whose time it's not. You called me last week with a big piece of... Speaker 1 (1:51) Of information like about us. I called you? Yeah. Last week? Last night. Sorry. Yes, of course. You were like, oh my God, check your text. Oh yeah. I was like, Jackie, did Speaker 2 (2:02) you Speaker 1 (2:02) hear? And she was Speaker 2 (2:03) like, what? We're going on a date with the stars? I was like, no. Speaker 1 (2:06) It was something else, which I guess we'll talk about later. But then I said to you, like, I really hope I never get asked to do, as much as I want to. You Speaker 2 (2:14) have Speaker 1 (2:14) to stop putting Speaker 2 (2:15) it out Speaker 1 (2:15) there. No, Speaker 2 (2:15) no. Speaker 1 (2:16) I just need to put this out there so everybody knows like really where I stand. I want to do Dancing with the Stars. Like I would love to do it. It would be a dream of mine. I hope I never get asked because I will be so conflicted because realistically like I can't do it. But I would love to do it. You with Massinger. It Speaker 2 (2:36) was like being asked was the worst thing that ever happened to me. Like, because you have to do it, but you can't. No, but I can't. Of course. No, ask us in five years, like when we're done rearing children and we are skinny, like we will do it then. Yeah. Speaker 1 (2:47) So I literally see you dancing with the stars 2032. So. I'm glad that last night I was not asked to join the next season of Dancing with the Stars. Speaker 2 (2:55) No, and the sort of, like, career milestone we did find out about last night, I want to say, like, is better than Dancing with the Stars. You think so? We can discuss, Speaker 1 (3:02) like, if we wind up talking about it later. Speaker 2 (3:05) If it's in, like, one of the latter half, three, four, five stories. Speaker 1 (3:07) How's your day going? Speaker 2 (3:09) How's my day going? You know, it's going well, I would say. Speaker 2 (3:14) Yeah. Well, I mean, it's nine o'clock. So like nothing that kind of struggle. Speaker 1 (3:18) I didn't Speaker 2 (3:19) get Speaker 1 (3:19) to finish my show last night. I'm on like, I have half of the last episode left. I was supposed to be doing two a night, but then like Maxi woke up and so I still didn't finish my show, but the show was good and I'm enjoying it. I'll be sad when it's over. I did something last night. Something crazy last night. Crack. Crazier. Speaker 2 (3:35) Meth. Literally crazier. I finally watched The Voice. because I've been like voice curious about all the contestants. And you know, I can't, it's not a season of The Voice if I don't watch and like hate one of the judges. Of course, last couple of seasons, it was Michael Buble. He never should have been on there. And you know who I hate? Speaker 2 (3:51) Riley Greene. No. Queen Latifah. Could never. Like, I'm incapable. Who's the Speaker 1 (3:56) fourth? It's not Kelly. Speaker 2 (3:57) I know you don't know who it Speaker 1 (3:57) is. Speaker 2 (3:57) Adam Speaker 1 (3:58) Levine, of course. Oh, Speaker 2 (3:59) that wasn't even a trick question. I thought it was a trick question. So, first of all, I feel like when you see, like, the coaches, like, sort of communicating with one another, you really get to see, like, who's the diva. It was clear last season it was Michael Bublé. Like, he thought he was so much better than everyone. And Adam Levine is just like... I'm sorry, he's not qualified to be there anymore. Like, he's really not relevant right now. This is his house. The Speaker 1 (4:19) house that he built. And that qualifies him outside of musical accolades. That's what he, like, pitches himself to the blind auditions on. He knows how to usher you through to Speaker 2 (4:29) be a winner. Speaker 1 (4:29) But Riley Green and him, Speaker 2 (4:30) like, it's a dick measuring contest. Like, Riley Green is just very effortlessly cool. Like, a lot of the young girls on that show, like... They want to be on his team. Like, he's hot. He's like the hot young thing. And they keep like, you know, jabbing at one another. All in good fun, right? And I'm telling you, they fucking hate each other. Queen Latifah and Kelly Clarkson are getting along just like swimmingly. And they didn't put them next to each other. They went girl, boy, girl, boy. Because I'm telling you, like Riley Green and Adam Levine do not get along. No, Speaker 1 (4:51) and also, I actually don't know. I mean, you're watching, so you could tell me better if it's balanced. But it doesn't really sound like four distinctly different. judges. No, Speaker 2 (5:00) because Kelly Clarkson and Queen Latifah definitely cover a Speaker 1 (5:02) similar group. Are Speaker 2 (5:03) very Speaker 1 (5:03) similar. And then Adam Levine and Riley Green. Yeah, they're very like folksy. No, Speaker 2 (5:08) and they Speaker 1 (5:08) are the same. Sorry, if you look at them, they're the Speaker 2 (5:10) same Speaker 1 (5:10) person. Speaker 2 (5:11) It's not giving range. A lot of the contestants on the show are really young. And I feel like a lot of them don't even know Adam Levine outside of The Voice. I'm being dead serious. And just seeing him there, it's giving me like sad grandpa. And the rest of the group is like so culturally relevant. Like Queen Latifah is eternal. Kelly's so having a moment. And Riley Green is like this up and comer. So it's just like... What are you doing here? It's Speaker 1 (5:30) giving like the senior who graduated, like keeps coming back to say hi to the teachers. Like, I guess, but I don't want a freshman to be my coach, Riley Green. Well, Speaker 2 (5:37) I don't know. Like on her first season, Kelly Clarkson. No, no, Speaker 1 (5:40) not a freshman Speaker 2 (5:40) coach. A freshman artist. They jumped the gun with Riley Green. A hundred percent. He has not earned his stripes. And I want to say, I, you know, my, literally your dream is to be on Dancing with the Stars. My dream is to be a like celebrity vocal coach. on a competition show, American Idol, X Factor, The Voice. And the thing is, you know, I actually think I would end up with nobody on my team because I thought a lot of the singers stunk. Because Speaker 1 (6:04) you're Speaker 2 (6:04) unqualified? No. I thought they stunk. Like, I wouldn't have turned for half the people that these judges were turning for, but, like, they have to hit a quota. Yeah. So I see Queen Latifah turning. I'm like, I know you don't think he's good, but, like, you gotta at some point get someone on your team. I just feel like the pool of people is not, like, insane. Well, Speaker 1 (6:19) if you think about it, Speaker 2 (6:19) we've Speaker 1 (6:20) been doing these singing shows for Speaker 2 (6:21) 20 Speaker 1 (6:22) -some years. There are so many of them. We're finding all the best singers in the country every year. Maybe we're out of singers. But Speaker 2 (6:31) new Speaker 1 (6:31) people are Speaker 2 (6:32) born. Like you have to consider the baby boom. They are Speaker 1 (6:34) born. Speaker 2 (6:35) No, I just didn't. I wasn't really impressed by the talent. But also it is technically the first round. So by the time we get, you know, to the knockout rounds and whatever, the Hollywood week, whatever they call it, then you get like the really good like 10 singers. But for now. And also it's Speaker 1 (6:46) like you Speaker 2 (6:46) need people who are eligible Speaker 1 (6:47) to go home in the knockout rounds. Like you don't want to see a great go home in the knockout. It's true. Speaker 2 (6:51) It's true. I don't know. I just, this group is, it's like 75 % working. The judges. And you're saying that Adam's the problem. I Speaker 1 (7:00) would say it's 50 % working because I think Riley and Adam sound problematic. Speaker 2 (7:03) Riley has a really nice personality. I think him and Kelly know each other from the country scene. He's getting along really well with everyone. And the contestants really like him. I'm telling you, Adam's the outlier. And he knows it. He's sort of leading with insecurity. Speaker 1 (7:17) And Speaker 2 (7:17) all the jokes that Riley's making about him is like, he's the old guy. But he Speaker 1 (7:21) is Speaker 2 (7:21) the old guy. How old is he? It's a little too on the nose. I don't even know if it's age. I just mean like... He's definitely much older, but also culturally. If he's Speaker 1 (7:29) in Speaker 2 (7:29) his Speaker 1 (7:29) 40s, then he's 47. Speaker 2 (7:31) So Speaker 1 (7:31) if he's in his 40s, it's like a joke, you know? Yeah. You wouldn't be saying it about someone like an elder. But Speaker 2 (7:35) he was more so, like, not saying it about age, but saying it about, like, you know, Adam's old news. Yeah. I enjoyed the Speaker 1 (7:42) Jabs. I'm glad, because you don't like him. I don't like him. Add him to the list. But I will say, you know, you should also be respectful. Speaker 2 (7:52) Not you. Of your elders. Like, Speaker 1 (7:53) respect your elders. Maroon 5 is huge. Speaker 2 (7:55) Yeah, I feel though that anyone that chose Adam when I was watching, they were either choosing him by default or like I'm telling you the production made the person choose. Speaker 1 (8:06) Who wants to be on Adam Levine's team? No, but if you want to win the voice. You go with Kelly. Or if you're not like a Kelly Opie. A girl, yeah. Adam, he knows how to usher you in. As a winner. You're on The Voice. Who are you going with? And these are my four choices. Like, obviously Kelly. Speaker 2 (8:22) Obviously Speaker 1 (8:22) Kelly. I'm looking for a friend. Yeah, obviously Kelly. But I just also want to say, Speaker 2 (8:25) like, it would be a tough decision if Queen Latifah also turned around. Speaker 1 (8:28) Yeah. It's just for me, obviously Kelly, like, she's my number one in this world. Of course. That would be a dream come true. Speaker 2 (8:35) But Motormouth Maybel, like, if I had the opportunity to talk to her endlessly about Harrisburg, and I would, of course, choose, like, Good Morning Baltimore, or her solo, Big Blonde and Beautiful. Yeah. It's tough. I would choose Kelly. ultimately, because I think it would be a better match. And Speaker 1 (8:49) she has the experience Speaker 2 (8:49) as a coach. And I think like vocally we match a little bit better, but I would have a really hard time choosing. When Speaker 1 (8:53) you say that your dream is to be like a celebrity vocal coach, does that mean you want to be in the chair or you want to be like, we brought in Claudia? No, I want to sit in that chair. Okay. And Speaker 2 (9:03) actually, if I had my druthers, I really would want to be an X Factor at its height. An X Factor because they sat behind the table and you didn't have to see your belly or anything. And the lighting was so flattering. And it was such a cultural moment when Khloe was hosting. Yeah, I would have loved to have been like Britney Spears or Demi Lovato or L.A. Reid. Understood. That's my dream. But I know in order to... fulfill that dream. I have to be a successful singer first. And I couldn't even shake it on the Masked Singer. So like, I'm definitely not, that's not going to be in my lifetime. Like Dancing with the Stars might be in your lifetime. The Voice slash X Factor slash American Idol is not going to be in my. Speaker 1 (9:32) Well, what if they maybe, you know, like every other show they might want like an influencer, you know? Speaker 2 (9:40) Here's the other thing though. And Speaker 1 (9:41) also you could eventually become so powerful as like a commentator. that they would have a commentator. I could be Carson Daly. You couldn't be on The Voice. Sorry, you couldn't be a voice judge. But the way that like Simon Cowell, he's not a singer. It's so true. Like Randy Jackson. And he was very valuable. It's Speaker 2 (9:59) true. Speaker 1 (9:59) So I'm more of like, I bring the industry. Yeah. And just it's not the voice because the voice are coaches and you're not a coach. And the other thing about you are a judge. I couldn't coach because like a judge, a jury and an execution. Speaker 2 (10:10) I know how to sing, but I can't teach you. Like, I don't even know what sort of value I could provide as a coach. Thank you for admitting. Of course. No, no. You either have it or you don't. That's what I would tell my my team. I would say, do you have it? Yes or no. Yes or no. Are you still texting bitches? Yes or no. So that's like, I can't, I can't help you beyond that if you don't have what it takes. Yeah. So I think we should Speaker 1 (10:32) just redirect the dream. Yeah. I like that. Like America's got talent. No. Okay. So it's like kind of a circus show. Do you know what I mean? Speaker 2 (10:42) It is. It's like contortionists. Yeah. But Speaker 1 (10:44) it is. Speaker 2 (10:44) I want to go strictly like to the straight to the music industry. Okay. Speaker 1 (10:47) I need to Speaker 2 (10:48) become a commentator. So powerful. Yeah. Speaker 1 (10:50) That they can't ignore me. The way that Joe Rogan does UFC. So true. But also, didn't he like... Used to fight? Don't worry about that. Speaker 2 (10:59) Well, Speaker 1 (11:01) I was on the mass sector. Speaker 2 (11:02) Don't Speaker 1 (11:02) worry Speaker 2 (11:02) about that. You have two hit songs out. Oh, that's true, actually. A lot of people don't know that. Honey, am I gonna have a good time? Passing hands up to this guy. We actually recently re-listened to all of my music. And by all of it, of course, I mean my two hit songs. And let me tell you, that shit is so good. Like, I was in Olivia's house. The kids were loving it. Like... It's really a bop. It's honestly very kid-friendly, too. I don't curse. Speaker 1 (11:23) Yeah. Speaker 2 (11:24) I think I say sexy once. I Speaker 1 (11:26) twist the wow once. You'll have to put out a clean version. Speaker 2 (11:28) Thousand percent. Speaker 1 (11:31) Okay, like, I love coming up with dreams and aspirations. Do we have a list for that? I was just going to say. Like, goals? I know we have a list of regrets. It's important to set goals, and it's also important to remember the goals that Speaker 2 (11:42) you set. Speaker 1 (11:42) Well, that's the hard Speaker 2 (11:43) part. The hard part is not setting them. The hard part is remembering what goals you set. Speaker 1 (11:46) And then the hardest part is achieving them. Speaker 2 (11:54) I feel like one of my big goals that I hit, like I really, I had this like obsession with performing at the Beacon Theater and we've done it now like many times. Yeah, Speaker 1 (12:01) like old news. I think it was like two or three times. We have dream guests. Speaker 2 (12:04) No. No. I don't really dream of interviewing anyone. So we Speaker 1 (12:08) should start a list called dreams. Okay. Dreams. Dreams and like accomplishments. Goals, goals, Speaker 2 (12:13) goals. Speaker 1 (12:13) Dreams and goals. Just in case I don't know what the search term will be. Speaker 2 (12:15) Right, right. You, Dancing with the Stars. Yeah, Speaker 1 (12:18) sure. Throw me in there too. Okay. Dancing with the Stars for both of us with the brother duo. Speaker 2 (12:22) Yeah, of course. Or I'll be one of those contestants that dances with a girl. I'll dance with Julianne and you can dance with Derek. Speaker 1 (12:30) And then, of course, being like Claudia being a judge on a singing show. And, Speaker 2 (12:35) you know, I do think like a good version of that. But I think I like burn the bridge by quitting in the middle of the show is I could be a panelist on Massinger because I love to sing, obviously, but I also know a lot of pop culture. Speaker 1 (12:47) I would say the bridge is burned. I Speaker 2 (12:48) actually wouldn't say I talked to, you know, the producer all the time. And I just spoke to Dina the other day, the creator of the show. Like, we're all good. They were very supportive of mamas. But like, I'm sure they're whispering about me behind my back. I'm like, never bring that girl back here. Although I would just like truly love to be a panelist. I'll just put that out there. And they do have guest panelists. I think Rita Ora was a guest. And Speaker 1 (13:05) then as far as any other dreams, what about their... I feel like this conversation is coming up a lot now because there are all these like alumni shows of like traders, et cetera, that are like looking for influencers. So of course you think like, what about me? You know, yeah. Hot stars. Right, right, right. Any of those are any of those in your dreams? Speaker 2 (13:20) No, no. Like again, I would like, I would be unreal on traders. Like you guys, you have no idea. You've ever played that game with me, the faker. You know the game? I don't know. They sort of block out. I know. It's Speaker 1 (13:34) the Speaker 2 (13:34) one you play on the TV that's not Quiplash. No, they're not. So it's like everybody gets a message on their phone and it says you're either the faker or you're not. And then they give you like a bunch of tasks, trivia. And the faker doesn't get tasks or trivia. So they just have to like pretend to know what's going on. And then you all vote like as to each round who you think the faker is. And let me tell you, I guess like the shit out of everyone, especially those Shapiro's. So I think I would be amazing at traders. Although again, like the challenges I'm really not down to get into and doing my own glam for TV every day for three weeks. Not really better at Speaker 1 (14:03) that part that you think living Speaker 2 (14:04) in Scotland or where, where is it Scotland for like weeks on end without my family. Also, probably not. So I Speaker 1 (14:12) feel like you could bring your family and it probably winds up being like two weeks. Speaker 2 (14:16) Okay. You Speaker 1 (14:17) know? Yeah. Because it's like every day, like two people go home. Speaker 2 (14:20) Yeah. It's kind of short. Just like also being in such close quarters with people I don't know. Like those shows. Worstest people Speaker 1 (14:27) you know. Speaker 1 (14:28) What do you mean? Like, we've talked about them. Speaker 2 (14:31) Oh my God, of course. A landmine for a podcaster. Like, I just, I don't know. I don't know. But I think of all the shows that I'm most eligible for, it would probably be Traders. Okay. Speaker 1 (14:41) Stay tuned. Speaker 2 (14:42) Yeah. I don't have to bring around my kilt, of course. So those Speaker 1 (14:45) are our hopes and dreams. What Speaker 2 (14:47) are your hopes and dreams? Sound off in the comments. Speaker 1 (14:50) If you were... No, even just as a layperson. I'm interested. What are people's dreams? Also, if you were an influencer, like, what show would you want to be on? I feel like a lot of people would want to be on Special Forces. Really? Yeah. People not like us. Wait, are you being serious? Yeah. Why? Because it's cool and intense and it's a test of your physical and mental. Speaker 2 (15:09) But it's Speaker 1 (15:09) a Speaker 2 (15:09) really insane amount of work for a show nobody watches. With Traitors and even Dancing with the Stars, there's such a payoff. You're putting in so much work physically, emotionally, mentally, but you are being rewarded with opportunities, followers, fame, brand deals. Literally nobody watches Special Forces. Speaker 1 (15:23) I think some of our audience does. Speaker 2 (15:25) I'm telling you they don't. And you guys know I can't talk about Special Forces without bringing up the fact that, yes, I was asked to be on it. I was pregnant. And I was never doing it. No, Speaker 1 (15:32) no, no. Speaker 2 (15:33) Even if they had asked me one year earlier, I might have done it. Good thing they didn't. That was my peak physical year. Like I could have, I could have not went home first. I would have went home like third. Speaker 1 (15:40) Yeah. Speaker 1 (15:42) Well... I think that's all my dreams for the day. Yeah. Speaker 2 (15:48) I love talking about our dreams. Not like nocturnal dreams because that's so boring except for the one, of course, you had last night. But yes, hopes and dreams. Yeah, the theme of the week is dreams so far. Thunder only. You guys know I can't sing. When? I was going to sing. I'm pregnant. Dream, dream, dream. Oh, the Miley Cyrus. That's a good one. I was, of course, going for it because I'm more of like a. Speaker 1 (16:08) Yeah, you got your head in the cloud. Oh my god, that's not how this is. Speaker 2 (16:33) That's such an underrated song. Yeah. And that's in the Hannah Montana movie when she's like finally coming to terms like and she's getting ready for like the big it was it's kind of like this sort of powerful montage. Yes, it was. You want Speaker 1 (16:44) to get into the Speaker 2 (16:45) stories? Speaker 1 (16:45) Oh, Speaker 2 (16:46) yeah. I just feel like maybe there's one I'm like especially eager to talk about. Without Speaker 1 (16:50) further ado, it is time for the Fast Five Stories that you need to know. Speaker 2 (16:55) Oh, the Fast Five Stories that you need to know are brought to you by Vivrel, which we're so excited about. I actually brought my Vivrel back today. You know what? So did I. I borrowed this bag from Vivrelle months ago. Oh, Speaker 1 (17:05) so cute. Speaker 2 (17:05) It's Speaker 1 (17:05) a Speaker 2 (17:05) Chanel Duval made of raffia. Like, seriously, not a big deal. Speaker 1 (17:08) Oh, mine is an Hermes picotine. It's so cute. Like a cute little Majin lunch bag. So if you don't know Vivrelle yet, you are missing out. Speaker 2 (17:15) It's a members-only club where you can experience a rotating closet of designer bags and jewelry. The options are insane. They have, like I said, look at my Chanel bag, Louis Vuitton, Paris, Dior, all the brands that you really dream about. And it's super easy. Once you get accepted into the club, you just pick a piece that you want to borrow and it shows up at your door. The best part is, and what really sold us, is that there are no return dates. Like I said, I've had this bag for months. You can keep a piece for as long as you want. You can swap it out monthly when you're ready for something new. If you're taking a trip and you want like a designer beach bag, which is just like an insane thing to buy, you could borrow one from Varel. It's so smart. Their most popular tier is the Classique tier. It's $139 a month. Makes sense because the value you get is really crazy. They're constantly refreshing the inventory. So it always feels like you're walking in to a new designer boutique and have something new to try. We have a great offer as always on Vivrel. Just for Toast listeners, you can use code TOAST when you apply. You will get 50 % off your first month. If you've been thinking of joining Vivrel, this is the perfect time to apply. And also send it to your husbands because I think that a Vivrel membership is an amazing push present. Because obviously if you can't get like a whole bag, like why don't you get a whole closet? Send your husband to Vivrel and tell them to use code TOAST to get 50 % off your first month. That's code T-O-A-S-T at V-I-V-R-E-L-L-E dot com.
