Speaker 1 (0:09) Jackson, Claude and Weaver show that they need to know. We'll start your day off swirly, it's the toast. They sound amazing. Welcome back to the Toast. Happy Friday, you guys. Today is a celebration because it's Friday. We have one of our most popular co-hosts of all time subbing in for Claudia. And we have Bruno in studio. So today is a threefer. Welcome to today's co-host, my little sister, Margot Aschere. Hello, Speaker 2 (0:49) everyone. I'm so jealous that you have Bruno. Speaker 1 (0:52) I should have brought Mags. But Speaker 2 (0:54) you should Speaker 1 (0:55) have. I actually didn't plan to bring Bruno and I never bring him. This is the first time I've brought him. I can't even remember the last time he was on the show. But as I was driving to work this morning, as I was leaving the house, I saw like Zach walking Bruno and I Speaker 2 (1:07) pulled Speaker 1 (1:07) over and he was with the boys. So I was like, oh, hi. And then Bruno was just like being Bruno. And Zach was like, you want to take him to work? I was like, yeah, I do want to take him to work. Speaker 2 (1:15) But you didn't want to take his harness off. Speaker 1 (1:18) No, I didn't take his harness off. And now I can't because I don't want him to get up. But yeah, there's been like a lot of rumors about Bruno. Yeah. How's he doing? Because I was doing amazing. Speaker 2 (1:28) Worried this summer. Speaker 1 (1:29) He always gives everyone a fright in the Hamptons. The Hamptons do not agree with Bruno. He is the worst, fattest, laziest version of himself. But the moment we got home, like he's back to the old brew. He's back. I know. Like, Speaker 2 (1:42) are you just like saying that to tell yourself that or like? Speaker 1 (1:46) No, Speaker 2 (1:46) no, no, no, no. Everyone says it. Bruno is back. Bruno is back. Point blank period. Speaker 1 (1:52) Point blank period. I look forward Speaker 2 (1:54) to the Speaker 1 (1:55) next time you connect Speaker 2 (1:56) with Speaker 1 (1:56) him. Speaker 2 (1:56) I look forward to the next time I connect with him as well. Because you know he really loves me. He loves to come in my bed. And I really love Bru. But he makes me upset. He's a Speaker 1 (2:06) crazy individual. But he's living his best life. Speaker 2 (2:09) He's a crazy individual. He Speaker 1 (2:12) is. It's so true. Margot is here and I didn't want to like overhype it, but I meant what I said because I was saying Claudia's out today. I was thinking of like who I wanted to co-host with me and like who were some of the most popular co-hosts when I did Claudia's maternity leave. And Margot's episode, I think the episode was called like Sachi Catching Strays, something like that. Yeah, Speaker 2 (2:35) yeah. Oh, I was catching strays. Speaker 1 (2:37) And it was literally one of... the most popular episodes of the maternity leave. And then people were reminding me like, oh, is it? Cause I said, it's the most popular host from maternity leave. They were like, is it Jesse from secret lives? Cause actually I do think hers was like the most listened to because it was like so buzzy. No, fair enough. So second most popular. No, Speaker 2 (2:58) I like that's an honor. I'll take like top five because it's like, you know, I'm not like special. Like I'm your sister. It's not like I like have like really any major like tea to give. So it just means that people just enjoy our banter. And that's lovely. Speaker 1 (3:10) Yeah. And I think you're one of the closest personalities like to a regular episode of The Toast is what it Speaker 2 (3:15) is. I was. Because I Speaker 1 (3:16) was ready to go to the studio, bring in a guest, you know, call my peeps in Miami. Speaker 1 (3:22) You know, but I was like, wait, they just want like swirly vibes. They just want swirly Speaker 2 (3:26) vibes. I'm so happy you're here today. Speaker 1 (3:29) I'm so happy you're here today because it's like going to be a big Taylor day. And if not Claudia, like you are the right person to talk to. So given like the circumstances, we couldn't have a better co-host. I haven't spoken to you. Since the Hamptons? I don't think I've spoken to you like on FaceTime. We've like texted here. I had texted you asking if you could do the show today. Speaker 2 (3:50) I Speaker 1 (3:51) haven't spoken to you since the Hamptons. No, we've recorded redheads. Speaker 1 (3:57) That's really bad. And it's like, of course, it's a two-way street. Yeah, it is Speaker 2 (4:02) actually a two-way street. Speaker 1 (4:04) You, if I never call you again, like, you will never call me again. Speaker 2 (4:08) But if I will never call you again, you will never call me again. No, I would. Speaker 1 (4:12) I would call you. And you know that. But, like, I also am, like, extremely busy. I moved into a new house. No, Speaker 2 (4:17) no, no. Speaker 1 (4:17) By the way, I have, Speaker 2 (4:19) like, no problems with you. Like, I totally get it. You have so much going on. Speaker 1 (4:24) No, no, no. Of course you don't have problems with me. I'm saying I have a problem with you. But it sounds like you have Speaker 2 (4:27) problems with me. But like, I'm also so busy, you know? Like, does it not make Speaker 1 (4:30) you sad that you haven't spoken to your favorite sister at length in a while? Speaker 2 (4:33) No, it does. But I'm also just thinking about like, I don't know when I would have had the time. Because then once I do eventually have the time and I'm in bed, like, I don't want to fucking nap. Like, I just want to lay in bed. No time to call your sister. Speaker 1 (4:42) You know? It's actually, I didn't even realize until right now. And it's been a really crazy month, but. It's kind of disgusting and unprecedented how long we haven't like had a catch up for. So you guys are going to be privy to our catch up. Speaker 2 (4:54) That's Speaker 1 (4:54) true. Speaker 2 (4:54) That's true. Which is fun Speaker 1 (4:56) for you. And by the way, like, no, there's nothing like there's nothing betwixt us negative or anything like that. Oh, should Speaker 2 (5:02) we start beef? I feel like people are going to Speaker 1 (5:06) hear that. People are going to hear that and think like we don't like each other. No, no, totally. Oh, my God. Speaker 2 (5:10) I kind of love that. Like, yeah, people like think that like the sisters are like beefing. Like that's like tea. Yeah, it's like Speaker 1 (5:16) so Kardashian. Yeah, Speaker 2 (5:17) totally. It's like, oh my God, like Jackie and Margot don't like each other. Speaker 1 (5:20) Because we're so up each other's butts. Like there's never been any space for rumors like that. It's so true. Speaker 2 (5:26) Because we love Speaker 1 (5:26) each other so Speaker 2 (5:27) much. Also, not for nothing, like there is a group chat that's constantly going on. It's not like we've never been, we're not in communication. Like we are constantly talking every day. It's just in different formats. And Speaker 1 (5:37) we know like if you have an update and I have an update, it's in like, I know, but one-to-one. Speaker 2 (5:42) One on one. We Speaker 1 (5:43) haven't had a touch base in a while. We haven't. You should come see me. Oh, we did when you called me. Actually, you called me about Bruno Mars. I Speaker 2 (5:51) did. I did. Speaker 1 (5:52) We were thinking about going to Bruno Mars. Like Bruno Mars has always been performing September Miami. Like we're going. And then the week before, Margot was like, are we going? And I was like, no. And I do wish that we went. I Speaker 2 (6:02) didn't see one thing from that. I haven't seen one thing from his tour. Come to think of it. I saw Speaker 1 (6:06) because someone sent me videos from the show in Miami and like it looked amazing. we should have been there but it was the day before Yom Kippur and it's Speaker 2 (6:13) just a lot it's just a lot of time and Speaker 1 (6:15) Bruno swallowed a chicken bone I have three kids so Bruno Speaker 2 (6:17) swallowed a chicken bone oh yeah have you heard this it Speaker 1 (6:20) was like so many weeks it was like two plus weeks ago now so I think we're in the clear he swallowed a chicken bone which is so bad for dogs And Speaker 2 (6:29) then what? Speaker 1 (6:30) Nothing. Speaker 2 (6:31) Did he like poop it Speaker 1 (6:32) out? Nope. We kept calm and we carried on. So Speaker 2 (6:35) like in that event, you take him Speaker 1 (6:37) to Speaker 2 (6:37) the vet or you just like pray for the best? No. Speaker 1 (6:39) Unless he's giving me cause. Unless he's like, you know, not being yourself. Making noises. Speaker 2 (6:44) Yeah. Speaker 1 (6:45) Or, you know, sometimes we look at him, we're like, there's something wrong with Bruno. But he was like fine. Yeah. No, there was nothing. There was nothing. His birthday's coming up. Yeah. His birthday was in August. Speaker 2 (6:58) What? Oh, but you got him in October. Speaker 1 (7:00) His gotcha day is coming up. Oh, Speaker 2 (7:02) I always associate him with October. Got it. Okay. Oh, Speaker 1 (7:05) that's so cute. Speaker 2 (7:06) Yeah. Speaker 1 (7:07) Yeah. So cute. Well, what's new with you? I know you just want to talk about Bruno. What's new with you? I shouldn't have brought him. He's a distraction. Speaker 2 (7:14) What's new with me? I don't nothing really to share with you publicly online, you know? Speaker 1 (7:19) Oh, wow. But you've been too busy to call me, but there's nothing new. Speaker 2 (7:23) No, my life is, I just have a busy life, you know? I just lead a very busy life. What are you doing Speaker 1 (7:30) this weekend? Speaker 2 (7:31) Things going on. What am I doing this weekend? Tonight I have dinner. Speaker 1 (7:38) Tomorrow... Have you ever been to a restaurant in the city called Estella? Speaker 2 (7:43) No, but I feel like I've heard of it, but why? Speaker 1 (7:46) That's where MGK and Dakota Johnson went on their date. Interesting. When they went to Taylor Swift's apartment. Speaker 2 (7:53) Oh, Speaker 1 (7:54) I Speaker 2 (7:54) don't know. I don't really know hot new places because I feel like I go to the same three. Speaker 1 (8:00) Oh, you do? You don't go to hot new restaurants? No. Have you been to Corner Store? Speaker 2 (8:04) I do. I have. I do love Corner Store. And I did actually go to the new restaurant that they opened. that corner store opened this week called Cafe Charmant. It's in the old St. Theo's and it was fabulous. So maybe I do actually know. So Speaker 1 (8:16) what do you think is the best restaurant in the city for someone coming to visit New York City? Speaker 2 (8:20) Hillstone. Speaker 1 (8:22) Okay. But like city specific. And I agree. It is Hillstone. Speaker 2 (8:26) Yeah. City specific. Like what's the cuisine? Speaker 1 (8:31) Just give me a great restaurant in New York City. Like, come on. We got a young New York City young person here. And it's not a membership club? No, and it's not a membership club. Shoot. Speaker 2 (8:45) Like, I don't know why this is coming to me, but like American Bar. Speaker 1 (8:51) Okay. That sounds like Speaker 2 (8:53) a good answer. I do love American Bar. Yeah. Speaker 2 (9:00) what Speaker 1 (9:00) are you ready for my next question nothing i was gonna say what's new with you oh that's so sweet of you what's new with me What isn't new with me, I would say. It's Speaker 2 (9:12) so true. I can't wait to see your new house. I'm so excited. Speaker 1 (9:15) Are you coming anytime soon? Do you have plans? I have Thanksgiving booked. Okay, that's in forever. And Speaker 2 (9:22) then I was thinking about maybe coming in October for Levi's birthday. Okay, great. But I have a lot of work travel coming up, so I need to see how that nets out. And then if that weekend is available, then I'll come. Speaker 1 (9:35) Okay, great. We would love to have you. Yeah, it's just been like new house ting that's getting settled. Just like loving the new party vibe. Do you like change? Hate. Hate. Do you think you'd like change more or less than Claudia? Claudia hates change too. No, Speaker 2 (9:52) I know. I think I handle change better than Claudia, but I don't know if I like it. You know? Yeah. Speaker 1 (9:59) Yeah. You don't like change? Like, I love it. You do? I do. That's such a good quality. Like, I hate change. I'm like a creature of habit in like so many aspects of Speaker 2 (10:10) my life. Speaker 1 (10:11) Exciting. Speaker 2 (10:12) That's so scary. So I just like Speaker 1 (10:13) loving being in a new environment and just all of the newness. Speaker 2 (10:17) That's crazy. Like, to me, I'm just like that. I hear what you're doing and I'm like, holy shit, that's so much work. Speaker 1 (10:23) Yeah. Well, it was a lot of work, but now the fruits of my labor. Speaker 2 (10:27) are paying off. There's still Speaker 1 (10:28) like stuff, a little like fun projects to do. I would say like the stuff that we have to do now is like fun, like finding a cute sofa for the bedroom. Right, Speaker 2 (10:35) right, right. Speaker 1 (10:36) Like, so I'm just taking my sweet time ordering a million fabric samples. So Speaker 2 (10:39) when I come, like I still stay with you. Yeah. I would love it. I would love it. Speaker 1 (10:44) Yeah. It's up to you. Like we always switch or like bop around. Speaker 2 (10:47) We bop around. That's really up Speaker 1 (10:50) to you. Okay. Speaker 2 (10:51) Well, I feel like I'll have to, cause I like wouldn't, won't have been there yet. Like Olivia's house. I'm familiar. Speaker 1 (10:56) Right, right, right. It will be like a thing. New Speaker 2 (10:59) and like parched. Do the boys talk about me? Are they like, where's Miss Margo? Speaker 1 (11:04) Um. Speaker 2 (11:06) You can say no. All Speaker 1 (11:07) the time. We actually did talk about you this morning. What'd you say? Would you say I'm going to talk to Miss Margo? You just said that you weren't going to be here tonight for dinner. Speaker 2 (11:16) For Speaker 1 (11:16) dinner. Speaker 2 (11:17) Correct. I will not be there for dinner tonight. So it was about the Speaker 1 (11:19) absence of Miss Margo. Speaker 2 (11:20) Oh, classic. I feel like that's always what you're talking about is the absence of Miss Margo. It's Speaker 1 (11:26) not too late for you to get on a flight and make it for dinner. I'm going to make chili. Speaker 2 (11:31) There's just like no way. But like I love you and that's a really beautiful sentiment. Speaker 2 (11:36) Um, but it's just going to have to be a no for me at the moment. I'm Speaker 1 (11:38) making chili. I Speaker 2 (11:40) know that's honestly enough to get me there. I might Speaker 1 (11:42) even make cornbread. Sourdough cornbread? No, regular, like from the box. Speaker 2 (11:48) You made something recently. What was it? Oh, the CVK tricolore Speaker 1 (11:52) salad. Speaker 2 (11:53) That Speaker 1 (11:53) was an inspired choice. Thank you so much for mentioning that because I didn't talk about it on the toast. Yes, I. My favorite menu item from California Pizza Kitchen is this tricolore salad, which was like an off menu item, but it was a salad on top of like a cheesy pizza crust. And it was amazing. I don't think I ever ate anything else at CPK because that was the only thing I ate. I guess I started with like the vegetable lettuce wraps and then that was the main. So Speaker 2 (12:16) good. So Speaker 1 (12:17) good. And then like it started to become like not available at CPK. And now like CPK is nowhere to be found. There's one in Queens. Speaker 2 (12:24) I had a paid brand deal. Speaker 1 (12:26) Oh, love that. I don't know. I had a bite of like a pizza last week that I was like, oh my God, this crust tastes like CBK pizza crust. And I was like, oh, I should try and make that. So I did. My first attempt was really good. There are a couple of things that I would do differently and I would totally make it again. And it totally satisfied the craving. It was so exciting. But the thing is, it looks so Speaker 2 (12:48) good. It looks small, but not Speaker 1 (12:50) a lot of people. And it was huge. Speaker 2 (12:52) Really? Oh, the photo. It looks small. Speaker 1 (12:54) Oh my God. It was like way too, I didn't even eat all that crust. Oh, Speaker 2 (12:57) oh, okay. Speaker 1 (12:58) Yeah. I have a really big plate. That's why it looks like it looks like it fit on a plate, but I have extra large plates. I understand. Um, so I would highly recommend that. And if you never had the trichloric pizza at CPK, like I feel sorry for you. Me too. Speaker 2 (13:13) Like seriously, it was, it was a sign of the times. It Speaker 1 (13:16) was a couple of people like DM me and they were like, oh my God, this brings me back. Speaker 2 (13:19) Yeah. Speaking of sign of the times, I went to Haray. on Wednesday yeah it was fabulous actually is that the Speaker 1 (13:26) concert that's on your story yeah I didn't watch it yet Speaker 2 (13:30) um it's it was from two days ago so it's gone I Speaker 1 (13:33) just like I actually remember I was walking through my room like trying to see what concert you were at and then something came up and I had to put my phone down that's what happened Speaker 2 (13:39) to me that's totally fair I was in Harry's house Speaker 1 (13:41) Harish house but not Harish house no no no this Speaker 2 (13:45) is Speaker 1 (13:45) Harry this Speaker 2 (13:45) is together together so Speaker 1 (13:48) Harry Styles could Speaker 2 (13:49) come Speaker 1 (13:49) on namesake Speaker 2 (13:50) Harry Styles can't come on namesake. That's true. What Speaker 1 (13:52) do you Speaker 2 (13:52) think Speaker 1 (13:53) about my podcast idea? Namesake. I Speaker 2 (13:55) think it's so smart. And also I feel like it comes up a lot like where like there's a lot of people who was it recently that you replied to my story. Charlie Speaker 1 (14:04) Puth. Oh, Charlie Puth. Speaker 2 (14:06) Yes. Yeah. Charlie Puth. He's not Charlie Puth. Speaker 1 (14:10) Charlie Puth when he Speaker 2 (14:11) comes on. Yeah, literally. That's the thing, too, is that any like Harry's gonna be like, oh, hi, Har. Harsh. Harsh. Do Speaker 1 (14:17) you Speaker 2 (14:17) watch Dancing with the Stars? So no, but like I'm informed and I watch the clips and like I may as well. Do you know what I mean? Well, as long as you're informed. I'm informed. Like I have one of my friends who's like is a psychotic Dancing with the Stars fan and like keeps me up to date on every single thing. So I do know what is going on. What are you watching? I'm so glad you asked because I've been watching like Speaker 1 (14:40) so much TV recently. Lioness. Have you heard of it? I Speaker 2 (14:44) heard about Speaker 1 (14:45) it. Everyone's talking about it. So good. Speaker 2 (14:47) So good. I watched that new Emmy Rossum show, Furious. Oh. Like seriously, when I tell you I hated that show and I didn't even realize how much I hated the show as I was watching. But now that I've finished it and I've been sitting with it, I'm like thinking about how much I hated that show and I'm upset that I wasted so much time on it. And also I went from Lioness to Furious and the production budget on Lioness versus Furious was so much higher that it made Furious not enjoyable to watch. And then I just started The Diplomat. Speaker 2 (15:20) Okay. Yeah. I'm in like a weird like era of shows at the moment. Speaker 1 (15:23) You've been hanging Speaker 2 (15:23) out with Olivia. No, I mean like on such an Olivia vibe. Yeah. Yeah. No, I started to watch like a Harlan Speaker 1 (15:29) Coben one because she loves them. Oh, wow. Okay. Maybe you should stay at Olivia's when you come down. So you guys could have like movie night. Speaker 2 (15:36) Yeah, it's so true. We do love a movie night when I stay there. Harlan Coben. Harlan Coben.
