Speaker 3 (0:08) Can you hear me? Can you Speaker 2 (0:11) hear me well, well? Loud and clear, honey. Loud and clear. Speaker 3 (0:15) We got some things we gotta get into tonight. I wanna start with this. Speaker 2 (0:24) breaking news you're Speaker 1 (0:27) so silly for that you're actually very silly for that Speaker 2 (0:29) we haven't applauded in probably a year i Speaker 1 (0:34) can't Speaker 2 (0:34) remember if we did one earlier this year i think we did actually we probably have one episode or maybe two from earlier this year but either way it would have all been before march so the fact that we had to pick up the mics because bravo is in disarray This is an emergency episode, y'all. I'm not saying we bike, but we had to get some shit off because there's been so much going on in the Bravo sphere. I just feel like Speaker 3 (1:00) it's like someone one day in the calendar year, there's just a day where it's just like. Bravo Twitter explodes and I'm not saying it's becoming more frequent but I feel like every year or so there's just one day where something just gets announced. Kyle and Mauricio divorcing, all sorts of things just like you hear all sorts of things and it's just like damn I know you had that loading because it was the same day I honestly don't even think anyone had a moment to even react to the allegations out there about Julia. Speaker 3 (1:37) Fulia, as some call her. You know, because now these accusations of her laying outside of her marital bed, you know, with a Haitian mortician. There's a cop as well. And then, like, now Larsa apparently is saying it's not true, even though Larsa two seasons ago was saying, but I heard you like black men. And now a Haitian, I don't imagine the Haitian mortician is right. But all this is to say that we didn't even have a minute. Honestly, it was literally... I think I woke up, Haitian mortician was trendy. And I'm like, who is the Haitian mortician? And then after that, not even four or five hours before I even get a chance to sit down and really put my kappa on and really understand who the Haitian mortician is. Speaker 2 (2:17) Boom. And there it is. No, it was chaotic to say the least. And I think for me, we're already dealing with, like you said, the Haitian mortician. But even if we go back to last week or the week before, I suppose, when the teaser dropped of what was to come last week. Adriana comes with this admission that she and Julia slept together and already we're like, whoa, this is crazy. I mean, we all long had our suspicions, but to hear it from the horse's mouth was crazy. And then, like you said, next thing last week, we're now hearing that there's a Haitian mortician. There was also a cop and she had, she was paying for motels. She bought the man a coffee machine. It's like, damn. And literally that, that day I was at a wedding and next thing I'm seeing IK is like. Check the GC. Check what I said on the IGGC. I'm like, hold on a minute. Wait, she texted you? Yeah, because I guess I wasn't replying because you guys were already talking about it by the time I opened. She's like, Nessu, go to the IGGC and see what I said. I'm like, ah. Speaker 3 (3:14) You are missing Speaker 2 (3:15) out. I'm thinking it's our usual suspects. I'm like, oh gosh, what do they do now? You know our usual suspects. I'm like, ah, one down. And then I see Wendy and Eddie are arrested for fraud. I'm like, hey. And like I said, I was at a wedding and I'm sitting with Zainab and I'm like, Zainab, look, and she's like, what? We're both gagged. Speaker 2 (3:38) because we're like what the hell yante and then obviously when it first broke there was the whole 300 thing this was before at the time we had found the screenshots of the actual filing so it's a bit unclear to everyone we're like is someone just trying to take the piss this is just 300 dollars it can't possibly be that serious and then literally within a matter of an hour the dockets have been released We're now seeing the things come to find out allegedly the breaking was a lie. It was a scam. It was a scheme that Todd set up. And I'm like, Wendy. Speaker 2 (4:11) Wendy, after all these seasons of her talking about how Monique is a bad example for Black women, will Monique's daughter be proud of her if she sees this? Or one day when she grows up to see or read about this? And now everyone's here like, Wendy, how are you thinking Cameron's going to feel when she's seeing that? In fact, all your kids in general. But because she came with the whole bad example for women and your daughter, you're now in hot soup. Speaker 2 (4:34) You're in a hard suit. So what are your thoughts? I mean, just off the back of the season premiere, days before we get episode two, the news breaks, what were your thoughts? Tell me what you've been thinking. Speaker 3 (4:46) I don't know if you remember, I texted you because obviously the group chat was going on. I texted you and I said, I think it was yesterday, if not Saturday, that this is going to dampen this season of The Housewives and not for the reason you think that, oh, another housewife is going to do. I mean, at this point, I think we're all used to housewives. You know, they're involved in some sort of tomfoolery. But I think it will definitely have the effect of what's going on right now and Speaker 1 (5:12) what's Speaker 3 (5:13) going on on the show. I want to see what's going on. I want to be, I want boots on the ground. I want Instagram lives. If I have to watch on Instagram live, I'll watch it. But I want to see what's going on now. Like, it's like, give me the next season already. Like, we're already on next season storylines because of how public this is and because of how the backlash, because of... the things that they are alleging, we want to see what happens next season. Like this season, it's like knowing about the next iPhone when this iPhone just come out. It's like, what's the point of getting this iPhone if I know the next one is going to be better or juicier or something? It's the same way as that, that I don't know if we're going to have the patience to sit through all of this season, to sit through all the storyline. to sit through the reunion and all this and then go but at the end of the day I mean at least the reunion will be have been filmed after this has come out and obviously Wendy's gonna say she can't comment on an ongoing you know legal matter but at the end of the day it just is gonna dampen it in a way that I don't think anyone expected I think as well I think that's my that's my thoughts of how it's going to impact the season I think it's also going to impact dynamics I imagine like you know Giselle and her Giselle and Wendy are now in like this Speaker 3 (6:20) friendly, unfriendly thing. And I think Giselle's going to wait to see what the public reaction is like. Engage that before showing her truth. Speaker 2 (6:30) Before, sorry to cut you off, just a quick one. It's interesting because merely two weeks ago, if not less, around the time of the season premiere, Giselle was on Watch What Happens Live and she was saying, this is the closest they've ever been. She and Zen were not locked in. She and Wen Dang. And to be fair, we'll obviously get into the current season. Pardon me, but even from watching episode two, she's all like, when day, when day? So I too am intrigued to see what the commentary will be, what stance Giselle takes, because as much as Giselle has quote unquote changed, or she's more palatable, Giselle is still Giselle. Giselle typically goes for self. We'll get into a little bit of that when we discuss today's, I mean, this week's episode, but you're right. I actually wonder what Giselle's dynamical stance on this whole thing is going to be. Speaker 3 (7:14) Especially because Giselle is, she's very interesting. She's not, she doesn't go by public opinion 100%, but she does care about public opinion 100%. That one she can't deny. So I want to see where on the fence she's going to sit. I think even with Cannes, she always... Speaker 2 (7:30) Does she? Do you think she cares about public opinion? She doesn't care. She's been getting lashings and she's just very much like, Bravo and Andy love me. I don't give a damn. That's what it's all about. She doesn't care, but Speaker 3 (7:40) I don't imagine. I feel like that's because Giselle is a Virgo and I'm a Virgo. I feel like even with me, I can act like, oh, I don't care. Like, no big deal. But at the same time, at the same time at night, I'm like crying my eyes out about it or something. Do you know what I mean? I don't think it's. 100 % that she won't care but I think she'll kind of wait to see you know the public's reaction I also think same with how when they were discussing Karen in the first episode not to get into it but she said oh I love Karen I don't want to see her go to jail but at the same time it's your fourth DUI there shouldn't be a fifth one so I think Giselle is also capable of just being like Speaker 2 (8:11) common sense Speaker 3 (8:12) common sense and Speaker 2 (8:13) so I think Speaker 3 (8:14) I would hope that you know common sense prevails because also think about it a lot of these housewives are gonna have to go and watch what happens live they are going to have to comment on the season but they're also at some point andy's going to have to start asking people what Speaker 2 (8:28) are your Speaker 3 (8:28) thoughts on the wendy um eddie drama blah blah blah did you suspect anything because i think that's always the big question on you know anyone's mind when any of these housewives scandals break is that did you see anything like did Speaker 2 (8:41) you ever get a Speaker 3 (8:42) hint that these people could be into something that was untoward same with how candace was at um she was at like a news A breakfast show or something like that. At the exact moment the news dropped. Speaker 2 (8:54) The morning something, but at the moment the news broke. Speaker 3 (8:57) It wasn't as big as Good Morning America, but yes. But it also wasn't as small Speaker 2 (9:01) because I remember people saying that that show always has the tea. They always get notified of things like early. They usually have the tea first. So it's not one small boy TMZ thing like this, but I get what you mean. It's not Good Morning America. No, Speaker 3 (9:13) no, no. I wouldn't say TMZ. Anyway, but point being that same with how Candice was asked about. her reaction candace was asked and obviously at that time it had only come out the 300 thing so um candace is like are we really going to incarcerate people over 300 but that's because she didn't have all the information and i can't like even when i read it the 300 is what stuck out to me but it was in excess of 300 so if and that's because that's the legal threshold for it to either be federal or state i think so it became a federal case because it was above 300 um So yeah, it will really be interesting. Another thing I would like to point out is that Karen has not made any public appearances. There was that selfie of hers at the man who I won't name, his concert. She went for whatever reason, but I think that was on someone else's social media. So, you know, we know she's out and about. So it'll be interesting when she finally makes her grand return to social media, her grand return. And, you know, her and Wendy famously are not friends anymore. any sort of you know they don't mess with each other in any sort of way um so it'll be interesting to see her thoughts and also going into season 11 like karen is quite a big part of this this show right now even though she's not on it so it's really interesting to kind of see what is karen gonna say when karen finally speaks out and she gets to comment that it's like is she gonna say wendy didn't have grace for me so You know, or she's going to say, I'm going to take the high road and do what we need to do for me. Like, I'm really curious to know how everyone is going to navigate it because they actually have the grace to be able to kind of, they have a lot of time before they actually have to form an opinion and let us know their opinion so they can polish up their talking points. As always, forehead, Ashley Darby, you know, spoke out before she had, she should have. And, you know, she's making songs and she's doing all that. I think she's foolish and it shows, but I won't talk too much. Over to you. What do you think? Speaker 2 (11:07) Yeah, I think I share similar sentiments to you that it's, I want to go back to it putting a dampener on the season. I think. I get what you mean that it kind of makes me impatient for the season because now you just obviously want to find out what's going on but I'm actually feeling a little tiny bit different about that aspect because I'm interested to see so in this season is there any point someone's asking oh Wendy you know about your break-in or how you guys doing or are you recovering or was anyone affected and I want to see what it is that she says and of course it's going to be hot suit for her because these are things that could you know implicate her further um in the actual federal case especially because it's a federal case like Inobi beans, the amounts they were talking when close to half a mil. So she is in hot soup. I will say, much like a lot of the Bravo fans were saying on Twitter, it definitely does make her, unfortunately, be in a position where everything she says is questioned. And in some cases, annoyingly so, because we saw all sorts of random opinions online where people were like, oh, Nika's been vindicated. Oh, Robin's been vindicated. Oh, they should bring Nika back. Oh, and it's like, no, Nika was so boring. the stuff she did with Wendy and her mom was foolish. Robin, still a chump. Nobody here has been vindicated or nobody should be brought back. The people still sucked. So while you can give Wendy her lashings, I think the two should not be conflated. And that's kind of annoyingly happening in the Bravoverse. I also feel like a lot of people, unbeknownst to us, evidently didn't really like Wendy. And as usual with social media, the moment people don't like someone. the moment something happens, people are ready to whack you. And I'm not even speaking from the point of people rightfully calling out that this was stupid of them to do, but there are people that are now coming and saying, oh, so that time I just knew da-da-da-da-da. So Robin was right that time when she called her phony about how she's changing and she's doing her body. It's like, this actually has nothing to do with this, but clearly you have some feelings towards Wendy and now the two are kind of being conflated. So it's unfortunate to see that even as I was watching episode two, I was just like, Wendy, Speaker 1 (13:10) man. Speaker 2 (13:11) I mean, the two aren't related, but like people were saying when she's saying stuff like, oh, I'm here in peace and she's in pieces. And it's like, girl, it's actually so sad because the things people are going to end up having against you, it's not looking good. Same as at the reunion last year when she was saying Karen has to take accountability. Karen, da, da, da, da, da, da, da. Your situation is, I mean, I won't say it's worse because obviously in Karen's situation, people did say, fine, she could have killed someone, whatever. It's apples and oranges. It's not like for like, but point being. Your situation is seemingly a lot more serious. And even if we're looking at jail time, it's likely that you'll get more. So it's tight. Speaker 3 (13:44) I think it's one of those things where people conflate things and they don't have room. You know, as you always famously say, multiple things can be true at the same time. It is true that Nneka was a loser. It is true that Robin was a loser. It Speaker 2 (13:57) is true. Speaker 3 (13:58) All those things were true. And it's possible for them all to be true. And for this also to be true, that Wendy is dumb for doing this. And Wendy shouldn't have done this. Because... I don't know if you saw the tweet by It's Carrie. He said, insurance fraud may be easy to get away with, but it's easier to get caught. And that's one thing I was saying to my flatmate, Paco, that guys, you can defraud insurance people, but the problem is when they do the investigation and they find out you are lying, they're not going to let go. So Speaker 1 (14:25) when they, Speaker 3 (14:27) and also like you're saying, if you're going to go through this season, we're going to be seeing you stunting. throwing events, planning the trips or whatever it is you're going to do. And it's just going to be like, Wendy. Speaker 2 (14:37) And that's what I was actually about to get into that. Also going back to a dampener on the season, because case in point, even in her scene at the ball, at the bloom ball, she's wearing the ring that allegedly had been reported stolen. She's she's last episode. She and Eddie are talking about refurbishing their house. And it's like all these Birkins, you have all these things were being shown. It's clear that. to us is going to look like, oh, so he's part of the funds. When she's speaking about how Happy Eddie is taking off, it's like, oh, so the funds that you guys, you know, defrauded from the insurance company, was that used to be, you know, as capital for Happy Eddie? Like, now all these things are going to be questionable to us and everything you do is like, and even if she has a good read or whatever, it's just going to be like, man, get out of here because unfortunately you did something quite foolish. So I'm interested to see how the season's going to go. I actually am still in disbelief. Like, I keep seeing tweets today that, guys, I actually still can't believe this. And I actually really, truly cannot believe this. Speaker 3 (15:34) Friend, literally, I think multiple times a day I'll be doing something and I'm like, Wendy. Like, I'll literally say it like, I'll either say, Wendy. Like, Giselle, I'll go, Wendy. Because it's like, Speaker 2 (15:46) why would you do something so silly? And I just feel like, Speaker 3 (15:49) I just, trying to keep up with the Joneses will really be the fall of many men because Giselle, I mean, Wendy, you're trying to keep up with Giselle and her Gucci. What's it? Fiat 500 and her gingerbread Speaker 2 (16:02) house. Like, come on. Come on, Wendy. It's so silly to me. But unfortunately, I do have to give her her lashings. This goes back to a lot of the discussion of Bravo Twitter was having that. It just didn't make sense to keep wanting to live this specific lifestyle and move into a bigger house, knowing that allegedly Eddie is working less and less as a lawyer. knowing that with John Hopkins, you're not there. And even with the John Hopkins thing, allegedly, it's being alleged that they didn't ask her to extend her tenure there. So even the whole storyline of I want to resign, I don't want to do this anymore. Allegedly, that was a scheme that Todd set up because the university actually didn't ask her to come back, which is how she ended up moving to the other university now and doing stuff. But my thing was allegedly at that university, if what the people are saying is true, that at that university, they didn't ask her to stay. because she wasn't doing as much research as she should have. She wasn't working in the same capacity as she was. It's like, if this is your primary source of income, you can't possibly tell me that you were solely relying on Bravo Funds to maintain this lifestyle at the same time that Eddie's working less and less as a lawyer because the candles flopped, the YouTube TV show she tried to do flopped. So this is actually the time you should be locking in. And making sure that that income is secure and that you're not just relying on Bravo because even Bravo checks are fickle. You could be here this season, you could be gone the next. You actually never know who's on the chopping block. Granted, it's more likely that other people will get the chop before her prior to this thing happening. But I just think the Bravo check, especially if you're not an OG, you're not a heavy hitter like a Grand Dame or something, or in Atlanta when it was like candy or whatever, you're not in that kind of position for that check to be super fat that you can sit back and say, I'm slowly relying on this Bravo. And even Happy Eddie, if it was going well, it's still quite new for, again, for you to be thinking, oh, there's Happy Eddie now and there's now Bravo Chats. It's just not making sense to me. What would make her be so relaxed? If Speaker 3 (17:54) we just go back to... her quote unquote resignation from Johns Hopkins. It was one Microsoft sentence. It wasn't I'm done, but it didn't give proper resignation. The Speaker 2 (18:06) screenshots and blur out things the way Bravo sometimes gives us receipts. It looked like one line, I'm done. Oh, it Speaker 3 (18:12) wasn't I'm done, but it looked like she just said I'm done, Wendy. Which Speaker 2 (18:15) kind of feeds into the rumors that you didn't resign. They were Speaker 3 (18:18) done with you. Speaker 3 (18:21) As well, the only person and the only thing I'm willing to give anybody, you're actually the one who pointed it out to me, so I'm going to steal that off you. I'm going to steal your body chain quickly, was when Mia said that Edgy is the least busy lawyer she, no, the most available lawyer that she's ever heard of, Speaker 2 (18:37) or Speaker 3 (18:38) met or whatever. And I do agree because it was kind of strange that he just had all this time to be filming. He was at all the events. He was chopping it up with the other men. At the time, you know, it was like Chris, Monique's Chris, not Monique, Candice's Chris, and Chris is like an Instagram chef and like a private chef. So I imagine those hours would be either I'm going to go to work or I'm not. Like, I can just be home and be home. Speaker 2 (19:00) This is even when Chris started working at the hotel, he wasn't always readily available and always for me because now he had a real job he had to clock into. Whereas Eddie, if you remember in Wendy's first season, the man actually wasn't as available even as he was pre. Happy Eddie launching. So it's like, oh, I'm watching you work less and less seemingly because you're now just more available than before. Speaker 3 (19:19) So to me, I'm not saying Mia smelled a rat, but it was a good observation. Like, girl, I'm going to give you your turn. You caught that. Because if she hadn't said it, I don't think I would have actually peeped it. Because like, damn, for a lawyer, he actually is pretty available. And it's like, sir, and it's not law. I don't think it's one of those work from home things. At some point, even if you're not physically in court, you should be out meeting clients. If you've got a lot of time on your hands, maybe you should be on the golf course. But I don't think you'd be there to be able to film your wife's TV show. That one, I don't see how that. adds to the bottom line so them increasing their expenditure and you know increasing you know their lifestyle and all that but at the same time reducing their sources of income now you're relying on bravo you're relying on happy eddie i'm not really seeing and it can't be that happy eddie was even making that much because any business owner would be like i don't know where happy eddie is gonna go so at least in the beginning let me have at least five or whatever number of years where I'm still working and happy Eddie is taking off when I'm sure and when we banked a certain amount of money then we continue so for me watching you know as Wendy has spent more time on the show to kind of see her not increase you know increase her expenditure increase her outgoings you know they're buying Perkins they're renovating the house they're driving Range Rovers but at the same time decreasing the incomes. The income, you know, she's not at Johns Hopkins anymore. Eddie does not seem to be practicing law as much. They're now relying on Happy Eddie and her Bravo check. And I don't imagine she's, you know, getting, you know, booked and busy outside of Rehouse Eyes of Potomac. So for her to kind of seem seemingly... lean more into the celebrity of it all I don't see how it will pay off because like you're saying her business ideas are not catching on um I'm kind of surprised to hear I'm not surprised to hear happy eddie is you know I've not really seen anything that would imply happy eddie is popping but that's just me so it's shocking and a bit surprising to see yeah Speaker 2 (21:14) it's quite a shame and I actually wanted to touch on something that you and I discussed earlier and I know we have we're not we don't have the exact same views on this but Maybe now when I explain it because it's not via text or tweets or whatever, you'll get where I'm coming from. I've actually been of this opinion for quite some time. And I've mentioned this actually a couple of times, but it was from, it was in a different context. But my thing was, I think as the Bravo viewership. And naturally, as things in Housewives have changed and progressed and transformed over the years, I think there's just been this heavy focus or priority on wealthy Housewives. And we've seen it time and time again across different franchises. You know, we all laugh at the chicken shit bingo and the gas station sandwiches on the car strips or Potomac's, you know, no budget car strips. or different things on Salt Lake City or actually Salt Lake City they're fine but just different things we've seen across franchises or even I think I gave you an example going back to Beverly Hills when you were saying it's not like shit on your yourselves or your whatever's but their houses are can come across quite regular when you're comparing to what LVP used to live like or then we had the season abroad Diane and when she first came we were all like yay Like this woman is loaded. This is rich. These are wealthy housewives. This is what I want. And we were all happy and whatever, only for the woman to turn out to be horrid, ridiculous and insane in a one season wonder. But I always feel that like this, this huge focus on wealth kind of shifts a little bit from the point of housewives, which is, I remember saying to you once that sometimes it feels like for some, obviously not you and I, but for some of these Bravo fans or viewers, there comes a point where. there's a larger focus or importance being put on being wealthy rather than being an actual good housewife. Do they mesh with the cost? Do they have good storylines? Instead of, yeah, you're just here and you have loads of money, but this is dead. I think you'll remember we spoke about this about Nina on Dubai. Nina, I Speaker 3 (23:08) was about to say you were whacking me when I said I love Nina. I was Speaker 2 (23:11) whacking about Nina. I'm like, you know what? It is nice to see her build this amazing mansion and do this for her kids. And they can do this, all these staycations, that her kind of staycation is not what the rest of us would call staycation. Even compared to her. counterparts on housewives she and her husband were up it's nice to see those things yes i think you were saying that sometimes when you watch housewives it is um you do want it to be a little bit aspirational i get that the problem comes in when you have all the money in the world but you're boring nina would avoid um conflict nina would avoid confrontation nina would get flustered nina would say things that were on the borderline of anti-black or microaggressive to lisa and chanel and it's like at the end of the day you can have all the money in the world but you're clearly not a good housewife Even if it means amongst your classmates, you don't actually get along with a lot of people or you're easily flustered. It's just like, this actually isn't entertainment. I'm not going to get a read out of you. I'm not going to get a key out of you because you're boring. I'm not going to get much of a storyline out of you apart from me and my husband are rich. And this is what we're doing with our money. That isn't an enjoyable. It doesn't make it enjoyable anymore from Housewives. If we look at all of our favorite franchises, current, old, old iconic seasons, whatever that we love, even if we're looking at Salt Lake City now, we enjoy it because the people are actually entertaining. They are really funny as much as they have some sort of wealth. So it needs to be a combination of everything. And I think this is what I was saying to you that I'm not saying that the focus on wealth is is it. That wealth actually being an aspect of Housewives is a new thing. That's not what I'm saying. But remember, I was giving you examples of Atlanta, like in its premiere seasons. Yes, they had wealthy people, but it wasn't that the entire cast is on the same level as up as everybody else. So you had your Lisa Woods. You had Kim and the sugar daddy. Then Kim ended up marrying an NFL player. Sheree, as much as people obviously, and even Sheree, remember, her wealth kept being put into question with, oh, it's your mama. Is this a Chateau Thelma? Chateau she can't pay. Even before she got to the point of buying the house. There was a point, like you said, she'll be sampling designer in her house. She'll be doing things, doing that. But there's still things in Sheree's life that showed that financially she's not that up. Case in point, she by Sheree took ages for it to come out. Even her house, she was open and honest that I'm doing this by myself. So of course I'm not going to, you know, snap my fingers and this mansion is complete, whatever. Not everyone's going to have the same entertaining personality. Not everyone's going to have the same charisma. Grunts? Yeah, Wendy went. But still, you're not going to be viewed to the same level as some of Atlanta's most revered housewives or most loved housewives
