Speaker 1 (0:02) Welcome back to the Box Office Speaker, where we've been looking at how you can position you as an executive or a leader, a trainer, differently. Maybe right now you've always wanted to be a dynamic speaker. You've wanted to feel more confident, charismatic and influential. Speaker 1 (0:29) I'm Sheena Walker, your host, and most of you know me now. And you don't need to let fear or lack of speaking skills hold you back any longer. And in my weekly podcasts, you can look at the episodes that will help you in business, will help you with speaking, will help you to get started, and will help you with different aspects of business and speaking. Speaker 1 (1:00) Today, we're going to look at one of the things that's on my podcast is, how can you be a class act? Are you classy? Two questions there. And the third one I'd like to add is, when you go out, Do you grace the stage? And when I speak about in this podcast about the stage, I'm actually meaning networking, having conversations over a coffee, perhaps going into organisations with a proposal or to meet the new chief exec. Speaker 1 (1:46) I'm talking about how you can be a class act, how you can speak with grace. And because right now we have a saturated economy, you hear me using that word a lot. What that means is that you have to be. influential. You have to be significant. You have to be able to stand out. That's not meaning that you have to be what somebody said. Does that mean I have to be posh? No, it just means that you have to be relevant to the people you're speaking to. And there is a huge difference between being a speaker that just delivers information. and one that delivers that class act. And today I want you to ask yourself this one goal. I want this to be your focus today. Am I right now a speaker that people remember? If not, why don't they remember me? What is it I'm not doing? What is it I need to do differently? So today I'm going to share with you a few examples of how you can lead, be different and how you can focus on what really matters when you go out to speak and as I said when I'm speaking about the stage I'm meaning in every business setting I'm calling that the stage because if you're in the boardroom or if you're trying to win a contract or if you're in recruitment Speaker 1 (3:48) that's a room that you're trying to command. It's a situation, it's a business setting. And I want you to think about what you've been doing and what you can do right now. And one of the things that I've noticed, and you do hear me say this a lot, particularly on the platforms, because people are using... Chat BT, A1, everything has been produced not by a human like me. I'm speaking to you as Sheena, the human, a human being. It's me and not somebody else and about what I share in my business and my masterclasses. That's not from A1. That's from when I started designing programs. Speaker 1 (4:44) More than a decade ago. And I realised that what I did was different. And even now, people will say, oh, I've never heard of that before. People, when I start to work with them, oh, nobody's told me that. Nobody's told me. Here's three things that people have said recently. Nobody's told me that I can move when I speak to the left or right or stand in the middle of a room or the stage. Nobody said why I would change my voice. No one said that there is different ways to put content together. These are three areas that you might want to think about. Your voice. Movement. Speaker 1 (5:41) and your content. And if you're using content that somebody else uses, or if you've put something together from artificial intelligence, I want to share a case study with you. Somebody I knew recently had two or three new projects he was thinking about. And he had told me this after this situation. kind of went wrong for him he had these three projects and he was going to just give them to three people that he had in his team three of his managers and say can you look at this idea i've got i think it'd be a good service for the business and tell me your thoughts and maybe you could put a 250 page a 250 word paragraph or 500 no more than 500 words of how you see this working now what he was asking them to do was give me what your idea is how would, what's the actions you would take and what result do you think we might get? However, before he actually executed this, he decided he had 10 managers. He decided he would share the projects with all of his 10 managers and he gave them one each. So
