Speaker 2 (0:00) Welcome back to the model way podcast and welcome to season two. I'm your host Lenny Wheeler It feels good to be sitting back in this chair again guys, I promise you but I'm going to be honest with you I'm gonna be real honest with you today because getting here wasn't easy. It wasn't easy at all I mean there were moments when I questioned myself I questioned whether I should be here there were moments when I got inside my own head and there were moments when I was wondering whether I was ready to come back. And because it was really difficult. And to really do this again, it took a lot. But that's exactly what I needed to do. I needed to sit down and record this episode. Because evolution doesn't happen when everything feels comfortable. It does not, ladies and gentlemen. Evolution happens when you're uncertain. It happens when you're scared. It happens when you're stretched. And when you decide to keep moving, even though you don't have everything figured out, keep moving. The first episode of season two is called The Evolution, Mind, Body, and Image. Let's begin right now. Speaker 2 (1:38) When people hear the word evolution, they usually think about physical change. You know, they think about what someone looks like. You know, they also think about, you know, losing weight, getting stronger, changing their style, or even building a new image. That's what I was about. But real evolution starts much deeper than that. You know, it's going to start with in your mind. It starts right up here, ladies and gentlemen. Ladies, over the past year, I've had to ask myself some serious questions. Do I really want? I had to ask, what is my purpose? What am I building? What do I want people to remember me about? What do I want people to remember Lenny Wheeler about? And I'm willing to become the person to make that visual real. You know, those aren't comfortable questions to ask yourself. And those are questions you normally just don't ask because once you answer them, honestly, you just can't keep hiding behind excuses. Always. You have to make a decision. You have to make a real important decision. You either remain where you are. or you begin process of becoming who you're supposed to be. That's right. My journey has included business, fashion, photography, boxing. And on the surface, those things may look completely different for most people. But for me, they're all connected. They're really connected, y'all. They all require what they're called discipline. They all require confidence. They all require you to step into a room and believe that you belong there. You belong there. And they all force you to face rejection, criticism, and self-doubt. That brings me to the first part of evolution. Your mind. Your mind can be your strongest weapon. It seriously can. It's like a sword. It can become the very thing that stops you. Sometimes the biggest opponent isn't another person. It's not that person next to you. It's not that person across the street from you. It's your competition is you. It isn't someone telling you no. Sometimes the biggest opponent is that voice inside your own head. The voice that says you're too old. You waited too long. You're not ready. People are going to judge you. You know, I think to myself, what if you fail? I mean, I've heard that voice before. I still hear it sometimes. A lot of times, probably more than what you think. But I've learned that this confidence doesn't mean that voice disappears because when it's there, it's just there. Confidence means you move forward while the voice is still talking. You stop waiting to feel completely ready. Because the truth is most of us will never feel completely ready. I know I don't sometimes. Sometimes you have to start scared. Real scared. Sometimes you have to record the episode even when you don't feel locked in. I
