Speaker 2 (0:00) Welcome back to the Main Street Dish where we're dishing on all things Disney food and drinks from pavilions to Pandora, Hollywood Boulevard to Main Street USA. On this episode, we are dishing on everything we ate aboard the Disney Treasure. We spent seven nights eating our way around the ship, so we're breaking down all the options from breakfast to dinner, what's included, what costs extra, what we loved, what we're going to skip, and what we'll absolutely be ordering again. I'm Colin. And Speaker 3 (0:22) I'm Bella, and together we are Millennials on Main Street. And I am Bethany Vinton, and this is the Main Speaker 4 (0:27) Street Dish. Speaker 1 (0:29) We are approaching our station at the entrance to Main Street, USA. Oh, yeah. Speaker 2 (0:57) Yeah, I Speaker 4 (1:01) feel like we got to redo the intro we've had forever because I think we really should be adding Disney Cruise Line to it. I did have a Speaker 2 (1:08) cruise line that I'm ready to add. Speaker 4 (1:11) Okay. Oh. Okay. Next time. Speaker 2 (1:15) Next time, maybe. Maybe it'll. It may take me five takes because I'm just five years into our intro. It's so Speaker 4 (1:22) second nature at this point. No. I know. But I would like us to say going on a cruise is second nature to us, too. Speaker 2 (1:29) It's our personality, okay? It's going to hopefully become our Speaker 3 (1:33) personality. No. You Speaker 2 (1:34) know, Speaker 3 (1:35) we love a cruise. We do. And Speaker 2 (1:38) it's no surprise to anyone. We've been saying it forever. Roll back the ancient. Since the beginning. Consult the ancient texts. We have been saying we've loved cruise forever. It's Speaker 4 (1:46) actually crazy because when Speaker 2 (1:46) we started Speaker 4 (1:46) this podcast, I had never been on a cruise. Wow. Who Speaker 2 (1:49) even was she? I don't even know. A Speaker 4 (1:52) lesser version of herself. You hadn't reached your peak Speaker 2 (1:56) potential. Yeah, that's right. Correct. Speaker 4 (1:58) Correct. Speaker 2 (1:59) But Speaker 4 (1:59) this was a wish class knockoff for all of us. We've been on every wish class of ship for all of us. Wild to say. Speaker 3 (2:08) We've been in the Speaker 4 (2:09) baby child, Speaker 3 (2:10) which is... Why Speaker 2 (2:12) didn't he get his Guinness World Record? Yeah. Speaker 3 (2:15) But Speaker 2 (2:16) yeah, we knocked off all the wish class ships, which is amazing. And well. Speaker 2 (2:24) Yeah, this was the longest sailing that Bella and I have done since our honeymoon. Speaker 3 (2:28) Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, and this is the longest sailing we've all done on a wish class ship. Speaker 4 (2:34) Yes. Speaker 3 (2:35) Which I don't know if that is why this time around it was my favorite Speaker 4 (2:42) of the three. I don't think so. In my bones, Speaker 3 (2:45) I Speaker 4 (2:45) don't think so. I do love a longer sailing. So five. Plus is my preferred Speaker 3 (2:52) length of cruise. I think the Wish three nights is criminal, to be honest. Speaker 4 (2:58) Criminal. Speaker 3 (2:59) I do think also being on previous Wish class ships, understanding the ship, because it's very different from the, what is it, Dream class ships? Dream class, yeah. I think that helped going into this. However, I will say, I'm always going to be that person, I will admit it, that will not understand after forward. I don't know which way I have to go. I am so lost at sea when it comes to the location of things. I will understand floors. I will not understand forward or back. I do not get it. And you know what I'll Speaker 4 (3:31) never understand? Where the bathroom is. No, God, Speaker 2 (3:34) no. But they will be immaculate, but I cannot find them. Correct, yes, correct. Speaker 3 (3:39) So I do think a lot of that played into why we loved the treasure more than the other two. However, however. I think if I'm going to compare them, give me a night on each one, right? I'm still going to love, the treasure is still going to come out on top for me. Speaker 4 (3:54) Yes. Speaker 3 (3:55) When you walk Speaker 4 (3:56) in. Speaker 3 (3:57) Beautiful. Speaker 2 (3:59) What to say? You know, what to say? It's, it's beautiful. It's. Speaker 2 (4:06) When I saw it online, I was like, okay, it's just the same atrium as the Destiny. I was like, I wrote it off so fast because I was just kind of over the wish class shit. But then when I walked in, I was like, what's the word? Like gobsmacked. You know what I mean? I was so... And take out the excitement and the joy of being on a seven-night sailing and being able to be together. Take all of that out. It's like that thing you have to realize the situation you're in to know your level of joy and liking of something. Take all of it out. It's gorgeous. Yes. Speaker 4 (4:38) The Speaker 2 (4:39) mixture of textiles that are in just the lobby between the mosaics and the gold and the gem tones and the warmth of it. It just felt so homey and so comfortable and so welcoming and so inviting. The Aladdin vibe was incredible. The chandelier was, I wouldn't call it a chandelier, a lantern, really. A big lantern at the top was remarkable, was incredible. It had homages to every single atrium statue on every single Disney cruise ship. Hidden inside of the lanterns. Speaker 4 (5:12) And I feel like the two words to describe the atrium, warm and whimsy. Warm Speaker 2 (5:18) and whimsy. And that warmth is what we love. Speaker 4 (5:23) from Speaker 2 (5:24) the magic and from the wish class ships is it just feels warm. Something about that Art Nouveau style, that really nice ocean liner, like classic style feels so welcoming and so cozy. And this is the first wish class ship that's nailed that same feeling. I Speaker 4 (5:41) actually didn't realize how much I strongly dislike the Atrium of the Destiny until we stepped inside the treasure. That feels so cold and modern. Yes. It is. And there's reasons we loved it. We talked about it on the podcast. I do love that it like, you know, really transforms into something else. But I, when we stepped onto the ship, I was like, that atrium is so cold. Like it is so cold. It is not welcoming. It is not, there's nothing about it that is like, when we stepped on here, it was such a different atmosphere. I felt like I was in a warm hug and there you just feel, it's just too modern. It's so modern. And like. Speaker 4 (6:21) It feels empty Speaker 3 (6:22) compared Speaker 4 (6:22) to this. It Speaker 1 (6:24) just Speaker 3 (6:24) felt so full. Yeah, I agree with you. It did feel empty. And I think, too, going on and Finn being such a Spider-Man on the Destiny, Finn being such a Spider-Man fan, getting on the ship, Spider-Man was there. Amazing, right? I will never forget that moment for him and us. I was so excited to be on a ship that was kind of geared to his likes at the moment, right, at that time. But I think that that's kind of where... The destiny ended for me in terms of my likes for the ship. Right. I liked it for him and I liked it because it was, you know, more geared to like an Avengers campus vibe. If you like Avengers campus, you're going to like this. I think this was more geared to what we like about Disney cruising and the previous Disney cruises that we've been on. Right. Yeah. So beautiful. Amazing. Loved every moment of it. It just felt so clean and beautiful and bright and just Speaker 4 (7:14) warm. Like a hug. Yeah. Yeah. absolutely doing the treasure adored Speaker 2 (7:20) it and we do have an entire vlog series that's going out at various stages of whatever whenever you're listening to this but check it out we seven full days of vlogging on the ship so if you want to get a more like look at like what the ship is and the things we did we dive in day by day Speaker 4 (7:37) yes something to accompany this because not every time we dive into the meat like we we take us dining with you but we're not gonna dive into in depth like we are on here on the vlog but like it's a nice come along a nice a Speaker 2 (7:50) pairing yeah Speaker 4 (7:51) we'll Speaker 2 (7:53) call it a pairing a podcast and vlog pairing if you will one would say wine Speaker 4 (7:57) and cheese we say podcast and vlog that's right makes a Speaker 2 (8:00) lovely charcuterie board of our of our adventure but let's talk about the food shall we i think we'll we'll probably do an episode that for drinks Speaker 4 (8:10) Yeah, I'd just like to do a whole episode about Jorge, who is our favorite bartender on Ska Cat. Really, Speaker 2 (8:15) really. Also, I mean, something that also made the sailing was incredible was I feel like we made really amazing connections with cast members on this ship in particular. Of course, because there's more time. There's seven days. There's more time to build those connections with people. You say that, but Speaker 3 (8:28) we made some connections from the very beginning, right? Like I knew we loved these people a day in. And yeah, I am very excited to talk drinks when we get to that episode and Jorge specifically. But I Speaker 2 (8:43) do feel like that's a privilege of a longer sailing. Totally. It is. For sure. You just get to find your like weekly haunts. You know, the places that you're going to end up that kind of feel like your place, you know, for the week. And ours was Speaker 4 (8:55) not the haunted mansion. No, it was not Speaker 2 (8:58) our happy haunt. It's not so happy haunt, but we'll talk about that later. Speaker 4 (9:01) A Speaker 2 (9:02) plug for a future episode, but let's talk about the food, shall we? So we're going to talk really fast and we're breaking this down in meals. So we're breaking it down as far as breakfast, lunch, and dinner are concerned. So let's talk about the breakfast really fast. There are two main ways that you're going to get your breakfast on the treasure. Speaker 4 (9:25) And Speaker 2 (9:25) that is either a table service breakfast or a buffet breakfast. Speaker 4 (9:30) Correct. You can always do room service, but that's just, it's like a continental breakfast. Like there's not a lot to it. You're not getting hot food unless you're like in a Royal suite. Speaker 2 (9:39) Or in concierge. Speaker 4 (9:40) Which we were not us. Speaker 2 (9:42) Not us. No. Not this time. No. Not this time. Colin, Speaker 3 (9:46) it's Speaker 4 (9:46) not us next time either. Calm down. And probably not the time Speaker 3 (9:49) after that. Speaker 4 (9:49) One Speaker 2 (9:49) can dream. Speaker 4 (9:51) You know, sometimes you got to put things into the universe. For Speaker 2 (9:55) real, for real. Let's talk about the table service option. So your table service option here is 1923. So that is your sit down breakfast aboard the treasure and it is included with your cruise fare. So it's not, you're not going to pay extra. It's just the vibe that you're going for. Do you want to go to the buffet or do you want to sit down and be served breakfast off of a menu? Speaker 4 (10:14) And the answer is, I would like to do both. But I think it was, what, day three that I was like, can we go get breakfast at 1923? Speaker 2 (10:25) Yes. Speaker 3 (10:25) Yeah, yeah. And, you know, I think because... For one Speaker 2 (10:28) reason. Speaker 3 (10:29) Yeah, for one reason. Correct. I think it's just whatever your vibe is, right? I think a lot of people like to go to the buffet. The buffet tends to be busy. I will say I think breakfast, sit-down breakfast was less busy than the buffet. Speaker 4 (10:42) Oh, for Speaker 3 (10:42) sure. Which makes sense, right? You want a quick breakfast some mornings and then hit the pool deck or whatever, you know, especially port days, right? Speaker 4 (10:48) Yeah. But Speaker 3 (10:49) I like the... You know, I like having both options. It kind of depends on the morning you want to have. We did sit down when we were on the Destiny as well in 1923. And we got the same food. Yeah. Right? Like it's a smaller menu. It's not a very large menu. But it Speaker 2 (11:05) has a little something for everyone. It does. It has the sweet. It has the savory. It has the eggs. It has the pancakes. It has everything that you're going to want to want. The juice, the coffee. So it's just really, do you want to sit or do you want to? grab a plate from the buffet but the one the one thing i will say is i do feel like Speaker 2 (11:26) The quality of the food is similar to Marceline. I wouldn't say that the sit-down, you're getting better quality at the sit-down breakfast. I feel like the Eggs Benedict I order when I sit down at 1923 is the same Eggs Benedict I'm going to get at Marceline. Speaker 4 (11:42) Yeah, I agree with you. I don't think there's like a step up in food quality that's going to make it seem incredibly different for you. Speaker 2 (11:49) Except for one dish. Speaker 2 (11:52) That we have to talk about that if you do want to go and you want to sit down and have breakfast, there's one dish in particular that has no business being that delicious. And it's so stupid that we order it, but it's a kid's item and it is the peanut butter and jelly pancake. Speaker 4 (12:10) It's like the typhoon or something. Speaker 2 (12:12) Yes. And it is essentially, when I was growing up, they used to call them manhole cover pancakes. It's just like a large pancake. and it's a Speaker 4 (12:19) manhole cover. Do you know what that Speaker 2 (12:23) is? Speaker 4 (12:26) Never in my life Colin. No? Speaker 2 (12:28) It's like the thing in the sewer that you like lift up. Yeah Speaker 4 (12:31) I Speaker 2 (12:31) know what a manhole is. Yeah but it's like big. I got the vibe. Speaker 3 (12:35) It's a big Speaker 2 (12:36) pancake. Speaker 3 (12:38) them call that for it this was like labeled like this on a menu oh Speaker 2 (12:42) no no no no like no no no it was just like your Speaker 3 (12:44) family said no not my family like the Speaker 2 (12:46) the restaurants that we would go to yeah Speaker 3 (12:49) like it was labeled like that on a no Speaker 2 (12:52) no no no oh you're you're like a silver dollar like like a silver dollar or like a manhole cover like that's like what Speaker 3 (12:58) the Speaker 2 (12:58) comparison was wait Speaker 3 (13:00) they would tell you this comparison yes Speaker 2 (13:02) i Speaker 3 (13:03) have never in my life Silver dollar, yeah, but those were literally labeled silver dollar pancakes on a menu. Speaker 4 (13:10) Yeah. Regular pancakes were regular. Colin, if I Google manhole cover pancakes, it's somebody literally cooking a pancake on a manhole cover. Speaker 2 (13:19) That's incredible. In New York City in the summer. Yeah, that's right. You know how hot it is? I Speaker 1 (13:23) could Speaker 2 (13:23) fry an egg on the roof of my car. Yeah, that's right. That's what it's good at. Okay, okay. But it's Speaker 3 (13:27) a Speaker 2 (13:27) large pancake essentially swirled with peanut butter and jelly, like on top. On top. Like it's not in the pancake. It's on top. But it's real good. Finn ordered this one time and the adults devoured it. And when we went back on the treasure, we ordered that for Finn and Bethany ordered one for herself. Speaker 4 (13:45) I said, I'll take what he's having. Speaker 2 (13:47) Yep. Yep. And there's zero judgment. Yeah. So Speaker 4 (13:50) good. Speaker 1 (13:50) Yeah. Speaker 2 (13:51) Really good. So Speaker 4 (13:52) good. Delicious. She did come and like cut Finn's pancake up and I was like, me next. Speaker 3 (13:58) Yeah. She was so sweet. And when you go to breakfast, you're probably not going to see your regular servers. When we went to rotational dining and we had our regular servers, she did tell us our server did tell us when she was going to be at 1923, I believe. Yes, she did. They Speaker 4 (14:13) have Speaker 3 (14:13) some sort of rotation. We did not hit it when she was there. So we had someone else. The woman we had, very sweet, so kind to cut Finn's pancake. I was like, I'll do it. And she was like, no, I'll do it. go for it but yeah it was it's an amazing pancake that i would go there and honestly i would tell everyone just to Speaker 4 (14:30) get a pancake everyone Speaker 3 (14:31) go and get the pancake and then if you want your eggs i mean of course you can order them there but just go to the buffet like you just get this pancake this was so good i did get something that i didn't get at the destiny i got this wrap this like burrito kind of thing it was okay like i will say they have some different items Right. That's not just eggs and sausage and bacon. I have both times when we went on the destiny and now the treasure. Okay. The food's fine. The pancake though. Phenomenal. Speaker 1 (14:59) Really Speaker 2 (15:00) good. I agree. And I do. It was still worth it. Yes. And I do feel like I would prefer to do a sit down dining for breakfast on a sea day over a port day. I do think that they are available. on port days any morning i believe they're available but i think this is more of just like a cda thing where you can just sit and take your time correct Speaker 4 (15:21) we're not in a rush to do anything crazy i think wouldn't be your time to leave it was like to go watch toy story 5. like you know what i mean like yeah Speaker 2 (15:27) it's not like we're headed out Speaker 4 (15:29) to meet an excursion no Speaker 2 (15:31) correct Speaker 4 (15:31) no Speaker 2 (15:32) but The other option on the ship is Marceline Market, which we'll talk about a couple times. Speaker 4 (15:37) You'll find us there every single time over this. We'll go get a pancake one morning, but every other time you'll find us at Marceline Market. You Speaker 2 (15:44) will. And this is the cabanas for those dream class people. This is your buffet that's on all of the wish class ships. So it serves both breakfast and lunch. And it is also included with your cruise fare. And you'll find anything from like traditional breakfast. uh to made to order options baked goods and a lot of kid-friendly things as mickey waffles up Speaker 4 (16:07) the wazoo Speaker 2 (16:08) mickey waffles you know your child loves a Speaker 4 (16:10) mickey waffle he does every morning every morning Speaker 2 (16:12) but they the the the buffet is divided on two even sides um that meets around the back of the middle this is on the back of the ship so you're essentially going down two equal and opposite sides and then you're going to meet in the middle so if one side is a little crowded i found that the other side was way less crowded the left side was way more crowded than the right every single time and Speaker 4 (16:32) especially if you're in port if your port is facing one side like the the land is on one side go to the opposite side because everybody is on the side where you are docked and you're like facing land and usually if you go to the other side and you're just staring out into the sea there's not that many people there guess Speaker 2 (16:51) what you're on a cruise you've been staring at the sea the whole time it's fine Speaker 4 (16:53) have Speaker 2 (16:54) a quiet breakfast don't fight with the masses correct But everything here, Mickey waffles, like you said, eggs, omelets, Benedict's. Speaker 3 (17:01) They had different quiches each morning. Quiches, Speaker 2 (17:03) quiches, quiches, quiches. Man, they Speaker 3 (17:04) were phenomenal, actually. The quiches were amazing. They Speaker 2 (17:07) did Speaker 3 (17:07) rotate. Sausage, bacon, ham. Speaker 2 (17:09) Yep. Coffee, they do have, you know, regular coffee and they do have a specialty coffee bar at the very beginning too. So if you want like a specialty latte, you can get it there. You don't have to go to one of the other coffee locations. You can get it there. And then... They have like international options as well. So not just your American breakfast fare. They do have fried rice if you're interested. I'm over Speaker 4 (17:31) here smiling like the Grinch. You know what Speaker 2 (17:33) I'm saying? Speaker 4 (17:33) Yeah, that's right. You will catch me eating fried rice every single morning on a cruise. I think I've gotten all of us on the fried rice kick. Oh, me and Finn now. Speaker 3 (17:42) Finn too. Finn got into it too toward the end of the cruise. He's like, I'd like some fried rice. I said, heck yeah, you would. Speaker 2 (17:47) Yeah. For breakfast? And you know what? Exactly. No rules. Speaker 3 (17:51) No rules. It has eggs in it. There's eggs in it. It's fine. It's a breakfast food. Speaker 4 (17:55) It's fine. And also, we're teaching about international culture. We're in some places that is their breakfast food. So, you know what? He's a well-cultured man. Correct. I am excited when we get on the fantasy because the one thing that's missing from Marceline Market that... drives me up the wall is my morning miso there is no miso now here's the thing they make things work i've never seen miso on the wish class ship but if they had it for lunch and i had requested it i guarantee you someone would have tried to make that happen but i'm just also not that person but when we get on the fantasy i know that finn likes his miso as well so Oh. Speaker 2 (18:27) Loves miso soup. The child and I Speaker 4 (18:29) will be eating fried rice and our morning miso every morning. Yeah, Speaker 2 (18:33) correct. Correct. I Speaker 4 (18:35) just, I love Marceline Market. I think it is a little bit more upscale than Cabana's. Speaker 2 (18:41) Totally agree. The Speaker 4 (18:43) food. Speaker 2 (18:43) Totally agree. And the options. Just like the options of what they're giving. And the vibes are actually really great. The other thing that you're going to find here for breakfast are churro waffles. You're going to find them. here typically they're the castaway day but they were not on this sailing it Speaker 4 (19:01) depends on your sailing you just have to ask if you ask your head server at dinner they'll tell you what day they're gonna be they are in the kids section and that is when we did find our server when we were there yeah she was Speaker 3 (19:12) there yeah i Speaker 4 (19:13) straight up ratted fin out at dinner that night i said he didn't even eat a churro waffle no Speaker 3 (19:17) he didn't nope she gave us the churro waffles and he did not eat them Speaker 4 (19:21) Yep, I brought an amount of dinner. No, I love Marceline Market. I love the vibes. And one thing that I like here that you can't get on the other ships is they have Pog Juice. They do. In the machine. Yes. And the baby child learned how to use the machine this time. And it was the cutest thing ever. He'd be like, Auntie, can I get you juice? Speaker 3 (19:37) Yeah. Oh, he was obsessed with it. And he was obsessed with Pog juice. That was like his juice every single morning. He would get that and fried rice and a Mickey waffle and some sausage. And that was his breakfast. But I love Marceline Market. I think you can't really do wrong. I also got an omelet made to order at one point. I kind of, you know, on the seven days we went there, I think. most mornings except for the one yeah and we so I went through a bunch of the food I tried to do a little bit of everything every morning and it's just some really good fresh options and like if you have any dietary restrictions they have so many things to accommodate for that of course and it's always very fresh I like you can see them making it and then bringing it out there's not this huge abundance of one item Right. And then you think that it's going to get dried out. I really feel like the turnover is pretty quick and they really do make things pretty fresh in my opinion. So Speaker 4 (20:31) I don't Speaker 3 (20:31) think it's, you know, Speaker 4 (20:32) a bad option at all. No. And even fresh wise, the amount of fruit they have is crazy in the back of the ship. Like you name it, they have it. Speaker 3 (20:39) Every single morning I would get a bowl of fruit for Finn and I and papaya, mango, I mean, and watermelon and pineapple. Like those were the things we were getting. And it's the papaya was really good. Yeah. It Speaker 2 (20:50) was wonderful. Speaker 2 (20:52) But I feel like we are going to, what, six times out of seven, Speaker 4 (20:57) pick Speaker 2 (20:58) Marceline Market, which we did. But this is the place that you are going to find us. But let's talk about lunch, shall we? Let's go from breakfast to lunch. So lunch, this is where we throw a curveball in because we do, of course, still have Marceline Market, which is your buffet option here on the ship that is open for breakfast and lunch. But you also have Mickey and Friends Festival of Food. So we're talking Mickey's Smokestack Barbecue, Donald's Cantina, Daisy's Pizza Pies, Goofy's Grill, and Sweet Minnie's Ice Cream, all available. On the pool deck. Speaker 4 (21:31) This is where the wish class dominates. Speaker 2 (21:36) Hardcore. Did they add these to the dream class? Speaker 4 (21:40) They have added Donald's Cantina to both the
