Speaker 1 (0:02) Hey, everybody. Jen here. I am super excited to be back with you after our summer break, but I've got just a little update to share. I recorded the Fall Trends episode last week, back when I was young and full of hope that my website relaunch would go smoothly. I was so innocent back then. I really was. I thought it was going to happen on time. So in the episode, you're going to hear me tell you to go check out our new websites, both for everyone listening and for our Style Circle members. Well, both of them are still under construction. However, the Fall Style Guide is still coming along. It is on track to come out September 10th. And I have put the link to the sample style guide in the show notes. And that's where you'll find the preview for the new format and the link to the trend catalog for the fall trends episode. You just can't see all of our hard work just yet, but it's coming. I promise. For now, though, enjoy the fall trends episode and I'll see you soon. Speaker 1 (1:06) We're back! Summer break is over, baby. It is time to get back to business. And because we can all admit that refreshing our wardrobes was always the best part of the back-to-school season, we're kicking off this semester with a look at what all the cool girls, that's you, will be wearing for Fall 2026. Let's get started. Speaker 1 (1:38) Welcome to the Everyday Style School, the show that teaches you everything your mom never did about getting dressed. I'm your host, Jennifer McEmery. After 25 years of dressing women with real bodies, real budgets, and real lives, I know great style isn't about following one-size-fits-all advice. It's about learning what works for you. Speaker 1 (2:01) Hello, gorgeous. I hope you had a wonderful, wonderful summer vacation. For as long as I can remember, I've been saying, it's called the everyday style school. Maybe I should just take a break over the summer. And every year I've said, well, maybe I'll just do an interview series or a summer short series. I'll just keep it light and easy. Well, the joke's on me because none of those things kept it light and easy. So this summer, I finally did it. I took a summer break. And the joke's on me again because I did not take a break at all. If you have checked out our new website, you can see exactly what I'm talking about. You can see what we've been working on for the last few months. And I just have to say, I am thrilled with the results because everyone needs a makeover now and then, right? We absolutely did. And if you're a Style Circle member, hopefully you've had an opportunity to check out how we've reorganized everything to make it easier to find our classes and to follow the Roots of Style path to get the style that you always wanted. And you can also see all of our new classes that are coming up. Our class on finding your best colors is coming very, very soon. Our class showing exactly how to put together a... polished, finished outfit isn't far behind. And there's more in the works that we will share as it gets a little bit closer. And if you've listened to me for any length of time at all, you know there is one thing you can do to look better and to have more style that doesn't require you to buy anything, learn anything, go to the gym, get up earlier, nothing. This is so simple and it barely takes any time at all. And now the style circle is making it even easier to do. But that's not all. The biggest project of the summer is just days away from release. And if you're listening to this after September 10th, it's already out. Of course, I'm talking about the fall style guide. This is our revamp of the capsule wardrobe guides. We are going beyond just showing you what to buy and how to wear it all. We're showing you how the season is really coming together as a whole. with more in-depth trend information and a whole separate catalog of links to the trends that we talk about in the guide. We are showing you how some classic pieces have evolved, like loafers. What do modern loafers look like in fall 2026? And probably more importantly, what's not looking so current? I know that that is the information you really want. We've got visual examples for you to make it crystal clear to know. Are your loafers still looking on trend or are they looking a little bit dated? We have got styling tips for fall because buying the trending pieces is one thing, but if you don't know how to wear them or what to do with them, you're not going to get the most bang for your buck. Of course, we are still showing you how to put together a mix and match wardrobe for the season, but now we've got a bigger focus on using what you already have and then kind of peppering in pieces that will bring the season to life rather than feeling like you need to replace clothes more often than you actually do. And instead of just showing you all the ways that you can wear that top or that sweater, we are showing you complete outfits for the way you really live. whether you're going to the grocery store or the office or a winery. We're showing you athleisure outfits, everyday casual outfits, elevated casual outfits, and new for fall 2026, more workwear outfits. We heard you, we heard you, and we responded. And this might be my favorite part. Not only are we showing you a color palette that is trending for fall 2026, we are showing you how to customize it for the four main color season. Yes, because a green for a winter looks different than a green for a summer or a spring. We are doing everything we can to make it super simple. to feel current and stylish without stress or struggle or spending a fortune. So if you want to check it out, we've got a sample guide on our website that you can click through. It's like a magazine. It's so fun. And that's where you can find the link to the trend catalog from today. I will put that link in the show notes. You can go check it out. The complete fall style guide is dropping September 10th, and we really, really hope you love it. Our team has put so much thought and effort into making this guide amazing. I'm super proud of them and the almost finished product. We're still working on it. Okay, let's talk about fall 2026, what's trending, how to look current, you know, all the stuff you came here for today. I've got a couple of trend disclaimers, and maybe these are new to you. or maybe you need a refresher, or maybe you can repeat them in your sleep. Anyway, here you go. Number one, these are not all the trends out there. These are just a few highlights. I'm going to talk about some of the colors that are trending, a couple of accessories, the biggest trend in denim, a pattern you are going to see everywhere this season, and a trending detail that I love. But there are lots, lots more that we are not covering today. This season, there's a real shift in the styles that we're seeing and things look really fresh and different, I think, for fall 2026. If you are a Style Circle member, a couple of the trends that I'm talking about today are in the Style Guide trend report, but for the most part, the trends you're going to see there are different from what I'm talking about today. I just want to cover and talk about as many of them for you as possible. Along with that, though, I only like to talk about trends that are wearable for everyday women and are in stores right now. So your feeds, your social media feeds might be full of other trends that I'm not mentioning. And one reason could be that the trend just doesn't apply to everyday women. Like, I don't know how many of you are really wearing silk jackets trimmed in faux fur for fall. I don't know. I would rather spend my efforts on things that are likely to work in your wardrobes. But also, the trend reports that are coming out right now are from the fall and winter runway shows, right? There's only two big fashion seasons. It's fall, winter, spring, summer. So some of these things that you're seeing just haven't hit the stores yet in an impactful way. Take purple, for example. A lot of talk about purple. As of the day I'm recording this, purple really isn't in stores. There are some, but it's not like, wow, that's a color we're seeing everywhere. I have a feeling that this is one that we're going to see more of as we get closer to winter and deeper into fall. But if I was trying to put together examples of purple that are out right now, the shade that everyone's talking about, it would just be a bunch of pieces from like the same three stores. And I like to talk about things that You're really going to see everywhere after listening to this episode so that you
