I feel blessed, black, and highly favored. Happy to be here. Another day to serve our beautiful listeners. Good morning. Good morning. How you feeling, Jess? I Speaker 7 (1:04) feel good. I feel good. Listen, I know that Lauren uses her own headphones. Breathe, breathe. Exactly. You know what I'm saying? She just ran up here. I just ran up here. Yeah, but I know she uses her own headphones. So, yo, who be using my headphones? is mad waxy. Every time I come back, that bitch is so nasty to me. That's why I don't have it in. I'm just listening or whatever. That's gross. Go boil them. No, I can't do that. They're not going to work, yo. But anyway, I just need a new pair of headphones because I know they're not Lauren's because Lauren always got Speaker 1 (1:35) hers. Speaker 7 (1:35) Oh, Speaker 1 (1:35) don't the tips of that comes off so you can take the tips off and clean it and put Speaker 7 (1:38) it Speaker 1 (1:38) back. It's just Speaker 7 (1:38) so nasty. Ain't nobody supposed Speaker 1 (1:40) to be in here in no way. That's what I'm Speaker 7 (1:41) saying, but it's always mad wax in Speaker 1 (1:44) his ears. Speaker 7 (1:45) Like, God. Girl, it's Speaker 1 (1:46) disgusting. Speaker 7 (1:47) But I had fun in Tacoma. Shout out to the city of Tacoma and Seattle. My fans came out. Meet and Greet went great. Yo, it was, crowd was mad diverse. I like to see that. It's dope because, you know, black, white, Asian, you know, African. There's a whole bunch of people there. Yeah. A whole bunch of people there. And it was really dope to see how all of them bought my book and how they all had different testimonies. You know what I mean? Like about... how they ended up in good or bad situations with the co-parenting kids or whatever. So it was really dope. Shout out to Tacoma. Shout Speaker 1 (2:19) out to Tacoma. Shout out to everybody I ran into in Charlotte. I was out in Charlotte this weekend. Did you Speaker 3 (2:22) get to go to the Speaker 1 (2:23) baby's restaurant? I don't hear about all the parties. No. You said you was Speaker 7 (2:26) going. Speaker 1 (2:26) I was going to go as soon as I land, but I had a show. I had so many events planned and scheduled because it was homecoming that I couldn't make it at all. I got to go to Charlotte in a couple of weeks. I'm going to go next time. My schedule won't be as hectic. Damn, Speaker 4 (2:39) man. Speaker 1 (2:39) Yeah, I was looking forward to going. I wanted to hear Speaker 3 (2:42) a review from somebody I knew. I know a lot of people personally who have been there, but somebody who I see every Speaker 1 (2:48) day. I was very disappointed. I really, really, really wanted to go, and then I left Sunday morning early, so I couldn't even get it there. I had a great weekend. I had a great Speaker 3 (2:56) weekend because my Dallas Cowboys won. Okay. Congratulations. It's just a regular season game. But thank you, I guess. You're welcome. My South Carolina Gamecocks lost. But you know what I did most importantly? What? My closet is clean. Drop one of those bombs for me. Man, let me tell you something. There's nothing like having a clean, organized closet. I gave away 23 bags of clothes to Dolores. Oh, that's what's up, yo. Jesus Christ. That's what's up. I mean, it's just years and years. I'm Speaker 1 (3:26) a Speaker 3 (3:26) hoarder, first of all. Okay, so this is years and years of just... that was just thrown all over the place. And I finally got my closet organized. My closet is so clean. The kids come run through the closet. It feels so good. Speaker 7 (3:38) Did you give away the slides? What slides? The slides that you wear every day that people don't like. Speaker 3 (3:43) No, I got them on right now. Those are here in the studio. But the closet is so clean. It feels so good. How many Timberlands Speaker 1 (3:50) did you give away? Speaker 3 (3:51) Oh, and I still got those. That's another project. That's Speaker 1 (3:54) a Speaker 3 (3:54) project for another day. That's Speaker 1 (3:56) a Speaker 3 (3:56) project for another day. That's a project for another day. Speaker 1 (3:58) Yeah, that's what I did. When my wife went on, when she went on that girl's trip, I cleaned her closet. Everything that she didn't wear, I just donated. Yeah. Because she's a hoarder. Damn. She's just a hoarder. Speaker 3 (4:06) I don't feel like you should throw away Timbs and stuff like that, though. Those are nice shoes just to slip on when you walk outside. You know, that or some slides. But you Speaker 1 (4:12) got mad pants. Slip on some boots to go outside. Speaker 3 (4:16) Especially in the wintertime. Speaker 1 (4:16) When we did that drive for Houston, right, and we were giving away clothes, it was some storm that happened, and we were just giving away clothes. Charlamagne came with, no lie, at least 10 pairs, or maybe 15 pairs of Timberlands. That's what's up. I Speaker 3 (4:28) was Speaker 1 (4:28) like, Jesus Christ. I liked Speaker 3 (4:30) them before I moved to New York. I liked them. But I just gave away 23 bags of clothes, and my closet is clean. I feel amazing. There's nothing like it. I don't know what it is, like getting rid of all that old energy. You know what I'm saying? It's just like out with the old. And not even in with the new, you just make space for new things. It feels amazing. Like a new house sometimes when you Speaker 1 (4:51) clean Speaker 3 (4:51) up. Speaker 1 (4:51) Well, let's get the show cracking. And just so you know, I'm retiring as far as hookah. Hookah poppy, no longer. It's about time. You still smoking hookah, boy? I will never smoke hookah again. I'll tell you behind the scenes. You're 50 years old Speaker 3 (5:03) and you're still smoking hookah? He Speaker 7 (5:06) just stopped, yo. He just stopped. I stopped. Speaker 3 (5:08) I retired. We got Dr. Puma in here this morning to talk about cardiovascular health. I'm telling you. You talking about you just stopped smoking hookah? I Speaker 1 (5:14) retired. But anyway, let's get the show cracking. Dr. Puma, like he said, will be joining us. The founder and president of Soarin' Medical. He'll be here. And also Grandmaster Flash. He's got a new book called. Yeah. He's got a new Speaker 3 (5:26) book. Speaker 1 (5:26) Birth of a Culture. Yeah, Birth of a Culture. We'll talk to both of them when we come back. Let's get the show cracking. What are we starting with? It's a new T.I. and Quavo record, right? Alright, well let's get it on and don't forget, get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. Front page news is next. Good morning everybody, we are the Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news. Start off with some quick sports, alright? Let's start off with football. The Cowboys beat the Texans barely 34-30. Man, shut up. A winner's a winner. Slow that down when you say that. Speaker 7 (5:52) The Rams Speaker 1 (5:53) beat the Eagles 24-20. Vikings beat the Dolphins 15-10. The 49ers beat the Broncos. Seahawks beat the Chargers. The Chiefs beat the Raiders. The Packers beat the Buccaneers. The Ravens beat the Titans. The Jaguars beat the Bengals. The Bears beat the Jets. And also the Panthers beat the Lions. And number one in the division, if you didn't know, the New York Giants beat the Cardinals 36-24. We are number one on our way to the Super Bowl. I know that's right. Drop Speaker 7 (6:22) on the Speaker 1 (6:22) pool's bottom for Speaker 3 (6:23) Jameis Winston. Y'all should be kissing Jameis Winston's feet. Y'all was kissing Magga Jackson Dodge's ass, so y'all need to be kissing Jameis Winston's feet. Okay, dropping the clues behind for Jameis Winston. That's right. Like I said, we are number one in the division. By the way, Jameis is the best post-game interviewer ever. Yes, Speaker 1 (6:37) he Speaker 3 (6:37) does. And always has. Yes, Speaker 1 (6:39) he Speaker 3 (6:39) does. But y'all need to be kissing his feet. Same way y'all was ready to run around here with Jackson Dart. We are. Okay? We are, absolutely. All right. And tonight, they're going to storm the Capitol with Jackson Dart. So y'all need to be ready to ride with Jameis Speaker 1 (6:49) Winston. Hey, we're number one in the division. And tonight, the Falcons play the New Orleans Saints at 8-15 on Monday Night Football. Now, also, there was a lot of... WNBA scores. Let me get to it. All right. The Liberty lost to the Dream 92-82. And the Valkyries beat the Aces 71-60. And in baseball, the Yankees lost to the Rays. All right. What's up, Mimi? Speaker 8 (7:11) Good morning, guys. How y'all doing this morning? Peace, Mimi Brown. Speaker 1 (7:14) Tamisha Speaker 3 (7:15) Brown from Howard University. Speaker 8 (7:17) That's right. Front Page News is sponsored by Morgan & Morgan, America's largest injury law firm. So this morning, we start this hour with President Trump on the campaign trail, facing growing pressure to address the cost of living with control of Congress on the line. So Trump. We talked about this a little last week. He's launched that 32-day campaign push ahead of the November 3rd midterm elections. And he was in Ohio Saturday telling voters the economy is booming and urging them to keep Republicans in control of Congress. Let's listen to a little bit of that. Speaker 5 (7:47) But it was just announced that under Republican leadership, incomes for hardworking Americans have soared to the highest level ever recorded. African-American poverty, Hispanic. American poverty and Native American poverty rates are all at their lowest levels ever, ever, ever. Speaker 3 (8:12) It's over, gang. Like this man is still peeing on your head and telling you that it's raining. Imagine standing in front of a group of working class people telling them they're doing good when their pockets say otherwise. Speaker 8 (8:22) And I'm so glad you brought that up because. And just to fact check that the cost of living is not at record lows, but new polling shows the economy Trump is describing is not necessarily the economy that voters say that they are feeling. A new CBS poll finds 9 out of 10 voters say they judge it based upon the prices. 7 in 10 say Trump's policies on food and groceries have made the groceries go up, and more voters are saying that he is not focused enough on keeping those costs down. I saw that. Speaker 3 (8:54) Polls that said 75 percent of Americans disapprove of Trump's economic management and 65 percent blame his his policies. Speaker 8 (9:03) Yeah, that's the AP Speaker 3 (9:05) poll. I think it was the Speaker 8 (9:07) AP North Pole. Yep. Right on target with that. And this morning, Trump is making a financial pitch to Americans. So more than 20 million seniors on original Medicare. are getting a $90 payment this month to help with Part B premiums. Now, that money is hitting your account if you're a senior and you qualify on around October 8th. Recipients will also get an email or a letter from President Trump highlighting the work he's done on health care, but they're not the only ones getting money. The administration is also sending $500 Obamacare refunds to nearly 1 million people in 30 states. Now, those checks will come with a letter signed by Trump telling the people that his administration is returning money that belonged to them in highlighting his record on health care. And there's another check that we talked about before, about that $5,000 check to every U.S. adult. Critics are saying that the government is trying to buy election, you know, buy your vote with this money. Here's Senator Mark Kelly from Arizona. Let's listen. Speaker 5 (10:09) So I think people should see this for what it is, especially this $5,000 payment. if Republicans maintain control of the House and the Senate. I mean, this is Speaker 3 (10:19) just a payoff and he's trying to buy votes. Speaker 3 (10:24) Imagine being in office almost two years, ruining the economy, but then lying to people, telling them that 30 days before an election, they're going to pay you $5,000 and the economy is booming. All these lies when all you had to do since you've been in office is the right thing. You had an opportunity to correct all of these things, and you didn't. You didn't keep none of your promises about the economy. Hey, man, we know what decision to make come midterm elections. All right. Speaker 8 (10:50) Absolutely. And really quickly before we go, I know we midterm elections today is the last day to register to vote in 11 states. So Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas. If you live in one of those states that you want to vote on November 3rd, you need to register by today. Just don't forget today is your last day in those states and check your state registrar office for your specific deadline. This hour of Front Page is sponsored by Morgan & Morgan. Injured, know your worth. America's largest law firm. Visit ForThePeople.com. In the next hour, we're going to talk about this massive homecoming, high school homecoming scene that turned into a crime scene, guys. We'll tell you what investigators say happened and who they're trying to find still this morning. Speaker 1 (11:34) All right. And everybody else, get it off your chest. 800-580-6000. 888-510-51. If you need to vent, call us up now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Speaker 6 (11:50) We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. We can get on the phone right now. He'll tell you what it is. Hello, who's this? Hey, this is Tally. Tally, what's up? Get it off your chest, Tally. Good morning. Good morning, Envy, Charlamagne, Jess. Good morning. I Speaker 1 (12:05) just Speaker 6 (12:05) wanted to get off my chest. I'm so sad. This morning I got broke up with over this weekend. Speaker 1 (12:12) Oh, damn. Speaker 6 (12:12) I don't know how to move forward. I've been with this man for four years. Two kids. Speaker 1 (12:18) Y'all got two Speaker 3 (12:19) kids together? Speaker 1 (12:20) Yeah, Speaker 6 (12:20) we got two kids together. Speaker 3 (12:22) Damn. Oh, he ain't break up with you. He just need a little breather. That's all. He just needed to go see his side chick. No, stop. Speaker 7 (12:27) Wow, what the hell? She already doing bad. Oh, no, no, no. So what happened? Why'd y'all break up? Speaker 1 (12:32) Why'd Speaker 6 (12:32) he Speaker 1 (12:32) break up with you? Speaker 7 (12:33) We've been going through it for a minute Speaker 6 (12:35) now, but we was disagreeing over discipline our two-year-old son. Like, I'm in the bathroom dying from cramps, and he want to... Our son woke up crying because I got out of bed, and he think it's time to give out whoopings 3 o'clock in the morning, and I'm dying from cramps. Speaker 1 (12:52) So I'm just Speaker 6 (12:53) telling him to relax. How old is the baby? He's two. He's Speaker 1 (12:58) whipping his kids at $10 Speaker 2 (13:00) ,000. He don't ever whoop him, but he just put on that stern voice. Saying he wants, so he can get them to calm down, but it's 3 o Speaker 6 (13:07) 'clock in the morning. He's not going to calm down if you're being stern. You need to be comforting, nurturing. Speaker 3 (13:12) Can I make a suggestion? First of all, don't say the man is whipping kids if he ain't whipping kids. Yeah, Speaker 6 (13:16) damn. Speaker 3 (13:16) That's crazy. Just say he was yelling at the kids or something. You said whipping. Okay, yeah. We from the era where we knew what whipping was. Yes. Correct. Speaker 2 (13:23) You're right, you're right. But yeah, but it's 3 o'clock in the morning. Why is she trying to be stern to a 2-year-old if you want him to, if the goal is to get him back to sleep? You need to be comforting him. And he feel like I disrespect him or I don't respect his parenting. He don't have no voice when it Speaker 6 (13:37) comes to our kids. Listen. Bro, I put in 90 % when it comes to the kids. You just go to work and take care of the house. So let me handle the kids and you handle Speaker 7 (13:47) whatever else. But she was the not. I disagree with that. Did you hear the disrespect? Yeah, Speaker 3 (13:52) I Speaker 7 (13:52) did. I did hear the disrespect. I handle Speaker 3 (13:54) 90%, but he goes to work and take care of the house. She said I handle 90 Speaker 1 (13:59) % Speaker 3 (13:59) of the Speaker 1 (13:59) kids. Speaker 3 (14:00) The kids, yeah. I said Speaker 1 (14:01) of the kids. She said she handles 90 % of the kids. She said she does 90 % Speaker 3 (14:06) of the kids. Speaker 1 (14:06) Them kids ain't got no place to stay if Speaker 3 (14:08) daddy don't go to work. Right, right. She didn't say she Speaker 1 (14:10) didn't respect that. The problem is, is she said she handles 90 % of the kids. Gosh. He said he handles the house and the bills. Now, the thing I don't like is... Boy, 90 % of the kids is going to work. Speaker 3 (14:20) Yeah. Speaker 1 (14:20) I gotta go take care of the kids. She Speaker 3 (14:22) feeds the kids. No, it's not. She's the one that fooled the guys. She's not doing that. She's not doing that. She is Speaker 1 (14:30) not doing that. She says she takes care of the kids. She feeds them. You can't take care of the Speaker 3 (14:34) kids without daddy going to work. Don't Speaker 6 (14:36) do Speaker 3 (14:36) that Speaker 1 (14:36) at Speaker 3 (14:36) all. But she's Speaker 1 (14:37) not Speaker 3 (14:37) saying Speaker 1 (14:37) that. Speaker 3 (14:37) I work Speaker 6 (14:38) too. I work and I go to work and I Speaker 3 (14:41) feed Speaker 6 (14:41) the kids. Speaker 3 (14:42) Oh, you say you go to work too? Speaker 1 (14:44) Yes, I'm at work right now. I'm at work right now. She said she handles the kids. She didn't downplay the role. She said I handle the Speaker 7 (14:52) kids. He handles everything else. I'm like, she want Speaker 2 (14:55) her just due. Speaker 7 (14:55) Well, look, check this. Just get my book. Get my book, because I had some advice for you. But just get my book, yo, because I feel like you still can't take away how he disciplines the kids. You know, it is 3 o'clock in the morning. He got to get up to go to work. You in a bathroom with cramps dying, and the 2-year-old is getting up, because you got out the bed. I mean, at some point, the goal has to be to get him to sleep by himself in his own bed. You know what I mean? Like, he breaking your husband's or your boyfriend's sleep or whatever. You know, you couldn't. You was out of commission at the time. Cramps are crazy. So you got to allow him to discipline in ways that he disciplined. You can't say he whooping if he ain't whooping. Your boyfriend might have woke up out of a Speaker 3 (15:32) nightmare. Speaker 7 (15:33) He threatened to whoop me. I just wanted him to relax. I wanted everybody to relax at that moment because I was going through it. Speaker 6 (15:39) You can't Speaker 1 (15:40) control the house though. But yelling and screaming at a two-year-old when mom just left the bed is a two-year-old. I Speaker 7 (15:45) guarantee you she might be exaggerating though. He probably wasn't yelling and screaming. He probably, she just don't like the way he was talking to the baby. I Speaker 1 (15:51) know she was Speaker 7 (15:51) exaggerating Speaker 3 (15:51) because she caught up and told me he was whooping the kid. Yeah, exactly. I'm sorry. He wanted Speaker 6 (15:56) to hand out whoopings. My exact words was he talked about Speaker 7 (16:00) he want to hand out whoopings. To Speaker 6 (16:01) a Speaker 7 (16:01) two-year-old. Three o'clock in the morning. Okay, he talked about it. All right, cool. That may be his way of like, yo, look, get yourself together. Chill out. Your mother in the bathroom. Relax. I'm just trying to scare you back to Speaker 1 (16:11) sleep. Speaker 7 (16:12) You know what I'm saying? I'm trying to scare you back to sleep. Speaker 1 (16:14) But a two-year-old. Speaker 7 (16:15) Okay, so at the end of the day, I'm wrong Speaker 6 (16:17) for Speaker 7 (16:18) not backing him Speaker 6 (16:20) up, basically. Speaker 1 (16:22) I don't think you're wrong. Just compromise. Speaker 6 (16:24) I mean, you know what I mean? Just a little bit. I Speaker 2 (16:25) don't think Speaker 6 (16:25) you're wrong. I Speaker 1 (16:26) think y'all need to have a conversation. I don't think you're wrong. But Speaker 7 (16:28) a Speaker 1 (16:28) two-year-old, mom just got out the bed. I'm sleeping next to mom. I'm crying because where's my mom going? I'm scared. She might baby the kids, though. Like, Speaker 7 (16:35) she might baby him. You know, a lot of that, this is a common issue between moms. I do baby him. That's my only fun. All right. Now, you admit it. That's great. Accountability. You baby him. You know what I'm saying? Like, that's mommy. You know, you're the nurturer. You over-nurture. I get it. Dad. That's so, you know, not so much. He's the dad. So he's like, yo, relax. You don't need to cry three o'clock in the morning because your mother got off the bed. Relax. That's just what that is. Two-year-old? Yes, two. Two. Chalamet, I love you. And keep your slides. Vote them. Speaker 6 (17:05) Keep Speaker 7 (17:05) your slides. Speaker 3 (17:06) I love you more. Have a good one, Ma. Shut up. Speaker 7 (17:08) Y'all have a good day. I got to go back to work. All right, go back to work. Yeah, Speaker 3 (17:13) don't do that. Nobody should downplay each other's role in the house. You know what I'm saying? I don't think she did, though. Yes, she did. She did, man. Just because Speaker 1 (17:20) she's Speaker 7 (17:21) a Speaker 1 (17:21) baby. Speaker 7 (17:21) She Speaker 1 (17:21) said, I take care of the kids and he takes care of the house and the other bills. She Speaker 3 (17:24) said, I take care of the Speaker 1 (17:24) kids Speaker 3 (17:24) 90 % of the time, which could be true. That's not true. Speaker 1 (17:27) He take care of his kids, too, Envy? No, she didn't say that he does not take care of the kids. She handles the kids 90 % of Speaker 3 (17:33) the Speaker 1 (17:33) time. Don't put a number Speaker 3 (17:34) on it because it's half and half. Because guess what? You can't feed these kids without the food that I provide by taking care of the kids. And she works as well. She did say that. Speaker 1 (17:41) Even for my household, Gia takes care of the kids more than I do. She's the one that feeds them, takes them to the doctor, takes them to school, picks them up. She does more of the kids. But you're also very involved. I am very involved. And because of the Speaker 3 (17:54) work you put in, you're able to provide the health care, you're able to provide the food. That's a 50-50 partnership, brother. Both parents can't Speaker 7 (18:00) be there equally at the same time because we're going to work. Speaker 1 (18:03) is the one that deals with the Speaker 3 (18:05) kids. Speaker 1 (18:05) She handles the majority of the kids. She knows the doctor's names. Do you Speaker 3 (18:08) know any Speaker 1 (18:08) doctor's names? Me neither. But I know the health insurance. Speaker 3 (18:12) This is a joint venture. This is a joint venture, but she Speaker 1 (18:15) handles the kids more than I do. That's what I'm saying. I'm not saying it's Speaker 3 (18:18) not Speaker 1 (18:18) a 50-50. Well, we can agree to disagree. I mean, I feel you. Well, get it off your chest. Call us up right now at the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Speaker 2 (18:23) My Speaker 1 (18:23) closet this morning. Speaker 2 (18:24) This is a lot. Your closet still ain't clean? No, I did it. This weekend, I told y'all I was going to do something. Oh, my closet clean. Well, your mom handles 100 Speaker 1 (18:30) % of y'all growing up. Speaker 2 (18:32) Well, my grandma and my stepdad, too. She had help. My family kicked in. Speaker 1 (18:36) It's Speaker 2 (18:36) the Speaker 1 (18:36) breakfast of the week.
