Speaker 1 (0:00) Would you like to chill out and do some fall themed little crafting with me? Let's turn our brains off and enjoy some time together. Speaker 1 (0:16) Oh my gosh, I needed this today so bad. I'm literally just gonna like draw in my sketchbook, which I can show you kind of what the fuck. This is so unserious. I did this thing of like this apartment in New York. I did this thing of this apartment in New York and it's a bunch of dogs like looking out the window. I love this one so much. But yeah, I guess there's one cat too. Which is crazy because I really am not a cat person, but see the tail. But yeah, I'm just going to kind of doodle and do some shit. But yeah, I just invite you to turn your brain off for a little bit and let's hang out because Lord knows we need it. Oh my God. I forgot I love this one too. Speaker 1 (1:08) me just like showing off my art I feel like you're a fucking like mom that's are you gonna put this on the fridge yes or no um but no I honestly like right now is the season that it's kind of weird because you can tell something's in the air and Girl, this is like one. It's like the hottest fall ever. Like what the fuck is happening? Well, I know what's happening, girl. The warming is global. But no, it's like really weird because now is usually when I'm starting to get like a lick of seasonal depression. I'm kind of like, oh, I happy. Like I happy and confused why I'm happy because, you know, I guess there's a time and a place. But you know when seasonal depression always hits for me now? Fucking think of the time. Ready? One, two, three. January, February. Girl, one last hit in April. Oh, that April one always whoops my ass. Oh my gosh. No, honest to God, I feel like those sketch artists at the fucking fair, at the state fair where they draw you and they make your chin really big. I'm like looking at you like drawing. No, literally. No, but honest to God, like. Something about fall for me, I love, love how just stereotypical it is in the sense that like you can go to a football game, have a glass of apple cider, have kettle corn, put a hoodie on, bring a blanket. Oh my God, feeling those cold bleachers under your ass, like that kind of thing. And that's fall. Speaker 1 (2:39) Okay, so we didn't have to like light a Christmas tree. We didn't have to do anything like we genuinely just showed up somewhere and wore a hoodie. And that's considered a fall evening. Christmas is really weird because it kind of is one of those things where it's so different depending on where you're at in the country, you know, or even where you're at in the world. Like some people don't even celebrate Christmas, which. what's the, um, there's like a religion that doesn't celebrate birthdays too. And that always, yeah, that amazed me. Cause it's like no Christmas, no birthday. I feel like that to me are two of the only times that we kind of like universally go like ape shit for something. And in a world that, in a world that we're so, um, miserable all the time like it is really nice to be able to look forward to something but now hear me out it is kind of nice because Christmas and fall are almost like competing for traditions right now where I think you can get so wrapped up in the fall stuff that you don't even give a fuck about Christmas time anymore Because Christmas time for me, I'm just like, okay, I'm wearing a coat over the sweater and I'm getting hot chocolate instead of apple cider. Speaker 1 (4:04) But in the fall, I'm not complaining like I do in the winter. Girl, oh, fuck. This is supposed to be like a chill out episode and I'm like bitching and like screaming in Speaker 2 (4:13) the Speaker 1 (4:13) mic. But like, no, genuinely, like think about the struggle that you go through in the winter and getting out of the car, having to preheat the vehicle, like all of these things, like genuinely, like your heat goes out in the fucking winter. You're fucked. Like, you know, you're at the fireplace, like praying. that your fingers don't freeze over like there's so many times in the winter that I'm like I can't even romanticize this it's that bad like when shit gets so bad you can't even romanticize like but um I there's something about the fall that I've really been cherishing lately I Speaker 1 (4:54) I feel like family has been a big thought for me lately. That as we, you know, smaller family people, because girl, you Italians. Speaker 1 (5:08) Girl, I'd be seeing like fucking shit on Facebook and an Italian family will have a get together and it'll be 400 people and they have all these entrees and they have all these things done and everything. And it's like you see all these pictures and like there was a whole Facebook event and I was like, what was the event? It was like, oh, like this kid lost its tooth. Like, what the fuck? Like, you know, I'm just so jealous, I think, of this like. You know, whether it be your culture or, you know, however it is for you that, you know, some people are so blessed that they have like all these huge family get togethers where for me, you know, my grandma was kind of the like, hold it down. Like she was the reason for the season. She was the reason we kind of got together for events where, you know, you go through a divorce, you, you know, lose some older family members, things like that. People start moving. It's just like. Girl, it's just too difficult to get everybody together. And then you just stop. And, you know, I think. Fall to me is a very chosen family time of year where you can have that warm family feeling with just who the fuck ever. And I love that. There's not like the call off school, stay at home aspect of like the winter has where you're really cooped up with immediate family, which I know for some people that's a fucking nightmare. And I get that. But it's like there's something about the fall that I love that it's so like choose your own adventure a little bit. For me, I am really in love with the idea of coziness and just an excuse to stay home and make my home, like playing the fucking Sims, like customize my house where it's just like one candle is on. I don't know what it is, but any form of lighting that is not yellow toned. I'm pissed off. Like I'm actually pissed off. My skin is the worst it's ever been. My hair looks greasy. Girl, I look like a Twilight reject. Like what is happening? But any like shade of yellow. Speaker 1 (7:22) and more orangey, more like Tuscan house. God, I'm like, I'm staying home all night. Like, actually, I don't want to go anywhere. I just want to stay back. And what I think about the fall is it always like, is a challenge of how do I make my house feel like those houses in like 2008 did. And I don't know why like the year like 2006 is really standing out to me. I feel like one of those people that's like 2006 is really speaking to me right now. But no, like I feel like 2006 is really speaking to me. Like, you know what I mean? Where I'm just like that has this warm, like really intimate feeling of comfort that I am chasing always. I am very big into staying home with others right now. where if we have a night that we want to go to the bar, I'm almost like, I almost feel like we could do better if we just had a portable speaker and we were sitting on the couch and we had a bottle of wine. Because one, we don't have to pay for drinks. Two, I got to pick the playlist for the night. And three, I'm not like worried about getting home. Because I know chances are with my friend, I'm good crashing there, whatever. It's just so much more like controlled variable. Speaker 1 (8:50) How rare it is to have a fun night when you go out is actually alarming because I just think there's a big factor of like dealing with other people that I can't focus on the people I actually want to focus on. Like, God, I'm so focused on the idiot over there or the music being bad or the fact that I just paid $20 for that drink that I just lost the plot. Like I completely lost the plot. And during these like chosen family ass like times during this season. It's like, girl, let me eliminate all that and actually just like, I don't know, get deep into doing what I want to do with who I want to do it with. right? Something that simple. I am just like, I'm just going to stay home. You know, I'm going to stay home. I'm going to make it work. I don't want to be dealing with anything that I don't want to deal with. And I know that we can't always like have it our way that sometimes you're going to be, you know, you have to go to that place or have to do this, but okay. Not everything is a have to, you know, sometimes we're just going places because that's all we know. Sometimes we're just going to places because it's like, well, what the fuck am I going to do? It's like, girl, we can set it home and make it a good time. Like, believe it or not, you know, and I am really, really, really, really sponsoring the idea of like staying home more. Also with that staying home aspect, it is so fun to like create like a custom theme for the night. Speaker 1 (10:24) I am having a birthday party and it's going to be like where it's kind of like a Tuscan like summer in Italy like little thing but in reality it's just going to be a bunch of spritzes and I'm catering Olive Garden. Speaker 1 (10:44) If I would have heard somebody say that like a couple years ago, I probably would have been like, what the hell? Like that's a lame ass thing. But now I'm just so desperate
