Speaker 2 (0:00) you Speaker 2 (0:02) This is a global production. Can Speaker 1 (0:05) I tell you my traitor's theory? Go Speaker 2 (0:06) on. Speaker 1 (0:06) Usually we have a murder and then a banishment every episode. Why didn't we have a banishment this episode? I think it's because... Speaker 2 (0:18) Hello and welcome back to Talk of the Townsends. I'm Benedict Townsend. And Speaker 1 (0:21) I'm... Sorry. Speaker 2 (0:22) I didn't even finish my surname. Speaker 1 (0:24) You did finish your surname. I Speaker 2 (0:26) said Benedict Townsend, I'm Hannah Townsend. But Speaker 1 (0:28) that's how we always do it. Speaker 2 (0:30) Well, yes, but I have to finish my name. And welcome back to Talk of the Traitors. Specifically, Talk of the Celebrity Traitors. Correct. Do you want to emphasise who you are again? And Speaker 1 (0:38) I'm Hannah Townsend. She's Speaker 2 (0:40) Hannah Townsend, everybody. We start this second episode with a very important question. Do you have more teeth than a normal person? It's Speaker 1 (0:47) where he was looking at Rob Beckett, very like, he was just trying to work it out, wasn't it? It was like he was thinking out loud. Speaker 2 (0:53) Yes, truly. And it was so funny because I think they'd had quite an intense conversation about, you know, are you a traitor? And he was just like, do you have more teeth than a normal person? I Speaker 1 (1:01) love normal person as well. I mean, look. It doesn't really fly as something to say to someone, but unfortunately very funny to listen to. I Speaker 2 (1:09) love the implication of like, obviously you're not a normal person. Speaker 1 (1:12) Well, everyone here can tell you're not normal. But Speaker 2 (1:14) is this standard for whatever's going on with you? Speaker 1 (1:16) Let's discuss. Does Rob Beckett just have bigger teeth? Speaker 2 (1:19) I think he's had his teeth done, hasn't he? Has he? Well, I don't know. I Speaker 1 (1:23) think those are his teeth. Speaker 2 (1:24) But he has more than a normal person. Speaker 1 (1:26) No, I just think they're like bigger teeth. Speaker 2 (1:28) And that's okay. Hey, that's okay. The backpedalling begins. Speaker 1 (1:32) They gleam and glint. I think he's got a great set of gnashers. Speaker 2 (1:34) They're very bright gnashers. Something I noticed, and I wonder if you noticed this, you could see Ross Kemp's watch at breakfast and throughout the episode, and they blurred his watch in every scene. Did they? They did. Speaker 1 (1:47) Do you think it had a big brand logo on it or something? Speaker 2 (1:50) No, they were blurring the time. Speaker 2 (1:53) Oh, that's silly from me. Well, I mean, now you say it, maybe they were blurring. No, I don't think it would have had a thing you could have read. But I think they were blurring it so you couldn't tell exactly what time it was. In Speaker 1 (2:02) normal traders, they're not allowed watches or clocks, are they? Because they always say they have no idea what time it is, I think, to disorientate them. So it's interesting he is allowed a watch. Speaker 2 (2:11) The blurring to me implies that it sort of slipped through or something. Because also, I think it would show the audience. Like, if you see his watch and it says 9am and then suddenly... you know, 10 seconds later in our time, it's 9.40. You're like, is this a real conversation? Has things chopped and changed? You know what I mean? Speaker 1 (2:26) Also, you know, for a challenge or for a conversation, they might, they're obviously going to, whatever works best for the edit. So was that your point? That's my point, yes. Speaker 2 (2:36) Sorry. You said what I said, but much more confusingly. Speaker 1 (2:42) When you were saying your point, I thought, I've got something. You Speaker 2 (2:45) know what happened there? You took what I said and you chopped and changed it for the edit. Ross said something interesting. He said, my children will not speak to me if I get banished early. And I thought that was a clue because often they'll put something like that at the start of an episode and then that person will get banished at the end. Usually it's someone going, I'll never get banished or they'll never figure me out. And then they go out that episode. So I thought maybe that was a subtle clue. Turns out a red herring. Well, Speaker 1 (3:09) we don't know. He might be banished. Speaker 2 (3:12) I don't think he will be judging by that round table, but we'll get to it. Speaker 1 (3:16) James Acaster was obviously recruited to become a traitor. He was kind of gleaming. I think he was just so happy not to go first because no one wants to go first. He clearly didn't want to be a traitor, but he did seem happy. He Speaker 2 (3:27) was gleaming. Is Speaker 1 (3:28) that not a Speaker 2 (3:28) word? He was like Rob Beckett's teeth. They have something in common, those two. Gleaming means like shiny. Yeah, he was gleaming. I guess he was gleaming. He had a little smirk, but I think it was just like, thank goodness I'm not the first one out. Julie, by the way. The most amazing detective. Absolutely. When Julie just turns to James Acaster about 15 seconds into him being a traitor and goes, you've been recruited, James. And James is like, James Speaker 1 (3:53) didn't lie, though. His strategy is, I'm not going to lie. And it's an actually. kind of a good tactic to not be too defensive you find people who are too defensive and come up with a million reasons of why they didn't do this they didn't do that people it's too suspicious you seem too panicked to actually go like yeah that's a good point no we should you know address all the theories but not lie actually he might get far i Speaker 2 (4:16) immediately did the thing of like what would i do in that scenario and i'd panic well if i wasn't a traitor i would probably go Damn, that's a pretty good theory. I guess it's that thing of like, oh, I hope you're not right because that makes me look suspicious. But like, you're right, the defensiveness comes from when they're on the money. So it's probably good for him to just give, he kind of gave no answer. He was just like, yeah, yeah. He Speaker 1 (4:36) went, oh, okay. Okay. Speaker 2 (4:39) Jerry Hall, when she was with Rob and Ramesh, and she literally said, they made me laugh. Speaker 1 (4:44) They made me cry. They made me cry. She really did. She did a
