Speaker 2 (0:18) Hi, Annika. Hi, Speaker 1 (0:19) Naima. Wait, I've never done the intro before. This is Stylish, the podcast for all things fashion, lifestyle, brand, business, beauty, hot tips, tidbits, swaps. The swaps are back. It's Friday, everybody. Happy Friday. This is our first one together. Just the two of us. Guys, this is my first ever Friday. Yes. I'm being very generous with myself this week, so you are fucking welcome. Yeah, twice. Speaker 2 (0:42) We were literally Speaker 1 (0:43) talking about this. I was like... Seeing you twice in Speaker 2 (0:45) a week is, what a treat. Speaker 1 (0:46) It is a treat. It is so lovely to see you. How are you, my love? I'm good. I'm good. You've got a real pimped off smoothie next to you. I know, guys. There is so much in this. Like, I was on one on Wednesday. I might top myself today because there's creatine, there's bone broth protein powder, two bananas, two shots of coffee, frozen mango, frozen pineapple, a little bit of coconut water. dash of almond milk for good measure, we're going to be hyped up. That's cost you $80, I reckon. I know. Honestly, it cost me like $25 a day. I've Speaker 2 (1:16) got Speaker 1 (1:16) a sickening habit. So I'm on a budget and I'm making my own smoothies at home. Well, Speaker 2 (1:19) I'm really Speaker 1 (1:19) proud of you. Thank you. Yeah. Speaker 2 (1:21) So welcome back to our new Friday format, our How Can We Help episodes, which is all about you guys. So answering your questions, dilemmas, we're here to help. We've had... So many requests come through, so keep them coming. I've loved reading them, having a little sticky beak in the socials. And Speaker 1 (1:41) today we're going to be talking about something that a lot of you have Speaker 2 (1:44) messaged us about, summer styling. I love it. Starting off, we're going to do the swap though. What's yours? Speaker 1 (1:50) Oh my God, guys. Guys, guys, guys. This really ties in today's episode because for me, at this point, I actually feel like I should release my own sunglasses collection or brand. Oh, Speaker 2 (2:00) I'd Speaker 1 (2:00) love that. Because sunglasses are literally part of my identity. Like, don't you think? I always rock a sunglass. You Speaker 2 (2:05) look so good in a sunglass, which is the opposite of me because I don't own a single pair of sunglasses. What do you mean? I can't see. Speaker 1 (2:12) You know you can get like description lenses. I know, but Speaker 2 (2:14) then Speaker 1 (2:14) you have to really commit to one. Okay, true. But you suit glasses. I feel like glasses are also part of your identity. So let's hybrid line. Yeah, let's. Something going on there. Me and you together. You Speaker 2 (2:24) and Speaker 1 (2:24) me, baby. Let's go. But for me, you guys, it's definitely a big glasses summer. Speaker 2 (2:29) And Speaker 1 (2:29) the beetle sunglasses are me to a T. Like if you follow me on socials, you would probably see me 99.9 % of the time rocking my big beetle sunglasses. I have been. On the wait list for the Kate X Oliver Peoples 1967 C sunglasses for, I want to say, maybe like six months now. These sunglasses are arguably the sunglasses of the season. They are the most coveted item and impossible to get your hands on. Now, they're $673, so they are a pretty penny in quite the investment. I got tired of waiting, so I started shopping around and did all the hard work for everybody. And I have found some two more affordable options. One that sits kind of more middle market, I will say, is the Chimmy sunglasses. Now, I've got the Lila. That's what you see me wearing all the time. On Chimmy's website, they're $420. But at the new trend, they're $390. So I know where I'll be shopping. And they are a really heavy weight. They sit really beautifully on your face. They really do the trend without having to be that excessive price tag. But now this is where I feel like the audience can really dip their toe in. For anybody who wants to get around the trend but doesn't want to spend $390 to $420, fair. I feel you. I hear you. Shade. S-Z-A-D-E. They have got a very, very similar pair online for $79.99. Guys, and I'm sure if you like sign up for the first time, you might get like a 10 % discount. So like GirlMath right now. Yeah, Speaker 2 (3:57) that's free. That's free. So Speaker 1 (3:59) those are my options for you. But we'll link all of these options for you in the show notes. Off Speaker 2 (4:04) the back of that, there's very similar ones at Bailey Nelson for my prescription girlies. So if you need sunnies with a prescription in it, they've got very similar ones. Do Speaker 1 (4:14) you know something hilarious about me? Like this couldn't really identify my personality more. I also should be wearing glasses. My prescription has been sitting at Specsavers Victoria Gardens since 2023. They call me still to this day. Love you guys. If you're listening, thank you so much for the Speaker 2 (4:29) followers. Speaker 1 (4:29) Wait, Speaker 2 (4:29) no, do Speaker 1 (4:29) they still have them? Speaker 2 (4:30) They still have them. Wait, we should film this. We should go collect them. Should we Speaker 1 (4:34) pop Speaker 2 (4:35) on? And Speaker 1 (4:35) they leave so many Speaker 2 (4:36) messages on Speaker 1 (4:36) my voicemail. And I'm like, I'm almost too embarrassed to go on and be like, honey, sweetie, thank you Speaker 2 (4:41) so much. But the Speaker 1 (4:42) eyes have deteriorated. The eyes have changed. But would love them to put some prescriptions into my. Beetle bugs. Yeah, Speaker 2 (4:49) let's go in. Speaker 1 (4:50) Okay, Speaker 2 (4:50) let's do it. Well, mine is a creator. Sorry, I keep bringing creators. No, we're here for it. I think I'm refreshing all the people I like to go to for inspiration, especially as we're coming into spring, summer. And I think it's quite good because obviously America and the UK have kind of gone through it. So you can kind of see what they were wearing. Totally. So this is a creator called Megan Moore. Speaker 1 (5:10) She's only on TikTok. Okay. And I just Speaker 2 (5:13) love her style. Everything that she wears, I'm like, oh, that looks exactly like her. like you you can kind of like really spot her style she has the most incredible bob I just it's a perfect bob with a little baby bang it's making me really want to get a baby bang Speaker 1 (5:28) she is so cutie fresh I'm literally doing a live stalk right now almost Speaker 2 (5:33) like her bob and bang are like part of the outfit you know what I mean she like dresses perfectly for her haircut which I love and the other thing I really like in general her style is really like a really good play on like Colour and silhouette. I love how she like has certain formulas of outfits. And then second to that, she has just like fantastic taste in jewellery. Like she always has like a really good ear stack and bangle stack. And it's really inspiring me to invest in some more bracelets and bangles. Totally. Speaker 1 (6:01) Megan Moore, you are a chameleon. I'm looking at her TikTok right now. Guys, in her feed, she does everything from like colourful makeup, different outfit trends. It doesn't look like she is really sticking to like one store. of aesthetic either. She's got color. She's got print. She's got neutrals. She's a girl for the girls. Speaker 2 (6:20) And all of the brands that she tags are brands I've never heard of. So I think she's very, very good at finding things that aren't in the mainstream. There's been so many brands that I've seen that I've never heard of, like across countries as well. Like she wore this. black dress with a rose detail and it was a Mexican brand and they have like amazing bridal. So has a really, really, really good eye and I think spends a lot of time searching for brands. So thanks for doing all the hard work for us. Speaker 1 (6:46) Thank you, Megan. We couldn't love you more. Well, look, we've teased out quite a bit. So should we jump on in? What are we talking about, Naima? Speaker 2 (6:52) Good foreshadowing, Annika. We get so many DMs around dressing for the warmer months and we're going to give you some foolproof tips and formulas, but that's right after a word from today. sponsor.
