Speaker 3 (0:00) Today on Spirit Outspoken, we're joined by Taylor Perkins for a conversation about union, faith, and the illusion of separation. What if so much of the fear, chaos, and searching we experience comes from believing we're separate from God, from one another, and even from parts of ourselves? We talk about Jesus, Krishna, and the the parts of ourselves we've been taught to reject, and the possibility that the divine isn't something outside of us that we're trying to reach, but something we're already deeply connected to. This one might challenge the way you've been taught to think about God, faith, and even yourself. And with that, let's dive in. Speaker 2 (0:49) What has been cooking? Like, what has been on your mind? Speaker 1 (0:52) Dude, okay, we're going to hop in. We are going to hop in because there's a few things, right? Number one, time is not linear, right? Like past, present, future are all happening right now. Like everything that has been, everything that will be, everything that is, like it just exists in the now. And so I think a lot of times, you know, we get so caught up in our daily lives and what's happening to us that like we lose a little bit of kind of like the magic, you know, where it's just like, oh, wait a second, the world's ending, you know, all of this chaos is happening. And it's like, so why did I reincarnate right here? right now, you know? And it's like, because it's not an accident, you know, reincarnation does not happen in a linear fashion as well. You're not going from, you know, your, your life in 69 BC or something like that. And then you're like, oh, let's go to the next life and slowly progress. Speaker 2 (2:03) Wait. So what do you, what do you think it is then? Well, it's all happening at once, right? It's everything is happening at Speaker 3 (2:10) one time. Speaker 1 (2:11) Yeah. So there's this beautiful scripture in the Bhagavad Gita. Are you guys familiar with the Gita? So the Bhagavad Gita is essentially what people in the West don't understand about Hinduism is they don't believe in like a thousand gods. These are all faces of one source. It's a thousand different faces, right? So that you can kind of like break things down simply so that your mind can understand. aspect of God source energy, but it's not, it's not separate. They're not individual. They're all faces of a source that we came from. This is what we're going to dive into that I've really been excited to like share that source, the source from which everything came. Wakatanka, the great mystery, what is beyond all comprehension, right? And Taoism. They say the Tao that can be understood is not the Tao. The Tao that can be explained is not the Tao. Because the moment, the moment you put a box around it, it's already fragmenting its expression. You're already collapsing it. You're already not getting the full picture. And that's tough for people because the logical mind, right, wants to be able to understand. And we can't understand how there was one source and from that one. came the illusion of all that is, all the separation that we experience, okay? But it's the paradox because it is this one energy, and this is why it's so important to understand within Hinduism. These are not thousands of gods. It is one energy wearing thousands of faces. I Speaker 3 (3:53) love that. Speaker 1 (3:54) In the Mayan cosmological system, right? They have the 13 numbers. They have the 20 Nawales. The name, I can't remember what the full name is, but the reason why it's Nawales is it means like faces, faces of the sun. They are not separate energies. It is one energy. expressing from a different lens, angle or perspective. Yes. This Speaker 2 (4:18) is fascinating. I love this. Speaker 1 (4:20) Yes. Speaker 2 (4:20) I think like if I, if I can just say one thing quick, like I think a lot of people's fear around studying other traditions and other, I'll, I'll just tell you my experience. Like we had Christine on the, on the podcast and it was beautiful. And Rachel and I were like, it's unbelievable how it doesn't matter what the system is. It could be Mayan cosmology. It could be astrology. It could be Enneagram. It could be life path numbers. It's fascinating because in our, at least in our two experiences, they all point to the same thing. And they're all, they all have like themes throughout that are consistent. And there's so much fear around studying these other things. Oh, there's all these deities and multiple gods. And I have such fear around that because I've only told that there's one creator and like that's worshiping something outside. But like, I've never heard that there are different faces of the same thing. And like, that is really beautiful. And I think will like bring down some fear from a lot of people that are so concerned about exploring what these other. you know, traditions. A Speaker 1 (5:27) thousand percent. And here's the thing, and this is why I'm so excited to talk about this, is because our current programming or our perceptions, right? So when we feel fear about learning about something new, right? Because it's like, oh, it's thousands of gods and this is different than what I was accustomed to, right? And so you're essentially afraid to learn about these different faces. Well, the thing is, if you feel that outside of you, it is a direct indication of the energy that you are embodying within, right? The fragmentation, the fear, the reinforced separation, which is directly impeding your ability to feel union, all right? Because what was, when Jesus speaks to Alpha and Omega, beginning and end, how did things begin? Union. It was all one source. Everything came from that one. Everything is already contained within that one. There is nothing that is being created, right? Just like the stem cell. It's like it all exists already. Everything in the current form that as it is expressed is a specific face of that divine energy that has gone from unmanifest. to manifest, but it is that one piece. And when you can understand that it's one thing, right? Wearing so many faces. Now you understand, okay, what is astrology? Astrology is the recognition that this one energy expresses in different ways. And all of these expressions, kind of like light entering a prism, and then the prism creates a refraction of light, right? It creates this. Speaker 3 (7:11) Jason was just talking about this exact analogy. Speaker 2 (7:14) The same thing. Yes. Speaker 1 (7:16) Yeah. And so it's like you are essentially this very unique prism where it's not just one face, but you have hundreds of different faces that are all coming together with this energy to create your unique expression in mirror as that one source. Right. And so it allows you to be individual, but it also allows you to maintain that union. When Jesus talks about I and the Father are one, you do not become one with something. You do not ascend to oneness. It's not something you achieve. The oneness has always been there. The oneness is what pre-exists every form of collapse. All of the programming that makes us feel separate, right? All of these things that tell us what we are and what we aren't. The oneness is what is underneath all of that. This is why, you know, they also say in many of the Eastern paths, you do not become the self. The self is self-evident. It has always been there. The self within you, your divine expression is what is. when all that isn't you is removed, right? The performance. And it's fascinating because you see this everywhere in Jesus's teachings. The reason why the first miracle was at a wedding. Why was it at a wedding, right? Changing the water into wine. And people are just like, you know, Mary's like, hey, we're having this. problem. We need more wine. And he's like, well, it's not my time yet. You know? And people are just like, well, they're sober Speaker 2 (8:54) at the wedding and you know, Speaker 1 (8:59) and it's not an accident. It's not an accident that this happened at the wedding. Marriage is union. Union is all pieces, masculine, feminine, form and formless in so many spiritual paths. Okay. So many spiritual paths. I'm loving this so much right now. I'm like all in on Speaker 2 (9:19) this. This is an excellent thesis. My brain is connecting so many things. Listen, Speaker 1 (9:25) it's, it's, well, it's interesting because Jesus in the, like, um, in some of the Gnostic texts, he says, you know, the, the unified ones will enter the kingdom of God. You know, it's the unified ones that enter the bridal chamber. Who is a unified one? Someone that is simply whole in their expression. How do you become whole in your expression? Jesus says, if two make peace in a home and say unto a mountain, move, it will move. You make peace by accepting all as it is. Making peace is realizing that oneness, you have always been one, even in an unconscious state, you are still one with that source because for you to exist in an unconscious state means that that potential existed within that source. It's why you were having the experience. of that reality or that state, all of the expansion that you have occurred or that has occurred within your life, you have been one with that source throughout the expansion. Speaker 2 (10:27) I have a question. Speaker 1 (10:29) Oh, yeah, please. I Speaker 2 (10:29) have so many. Yeah, go. Okay, so I have been contemplating. Speaker 2 (10:36) belief and faith in the Bible and what Jesus meant by that. And I was like, I'm obsessed with the concept of Jesus as the healer, right? And like him, you know, I've talked a lot about my son's journey and I've done things on Instagram where I'm kind of challenging the fact that we've reduced Jesus to be this like, savior of our sins versus us being like, hey, have you guys ever thought about the fact that he healed people with his hands? And then he told us like we could go on and do greater works than these. Like, how about we spend time on that? It seems pretty incredible. And I was like really digging into the fact that every single time he performed a miracle, every time, he didn't say I did that because I'm God. He said, your belief, your faith has made you whole. And I've been like contemplating what that means, right? Like, you know, when you say faith or you say belief, like that's typically or like maybe we're programmed to believe that that means like somebody else, God above me, separate from me, is bestowing this grace upon me to have this happen, right? Like that's like one concept of faith. Or like as you're talking, I'm like. Is it actually more of an awareness that like your belief, your awareness that the kingdom of God is within is why this miracle could manifest? Speaker 2 (12:10) Maybe you grew up in church and it stopped feeling like home. Maybe you never went and you're just now getting to know Jesus. Maybe you're drawn to energy work or astrology or practices that you were once told were off limits. Inside Spirit360, you don't have to pick a side.
