Speaker 2 (0:00) Welcome to the Social Work to Wealth podcast, where we're challenging the idea that social workers shouldn't care or talk about money. Hi, I'm Taylor. Speaker 1 (0:07) And I'm Faith. We're two licensed clinical social workers who know firsthand the challenges of navigating this field. In Speaker 2 (0:14) this podcast, we're here to empower you with practical tools for managing your money, advancing your career, and building long-term financial success so you can do more than Speaker 1 (0:22) just get by. Speaker 2 (0:25) Hello, everyone. Welcome back to the Social Work to Wealth podcast here with Faith. Speaker 1 (0:31) It's just us Speaker 2 (0:32) two today. Yay! Speaker 1 (0:37) It's us. I Speaker 2 (0:38) know. I love when we do Speaker 1 (0:40) our episodes together because I feel like we don't always get to just to chat with each other. I know. But Speaker 2 (0:45) this isn't really a chatty episode. We have some exciting news, more exciting news. This has been just like Speaker 1 (0:52) such Speaker 2 (0:52) a big year. Speaker 1 (0:54) Dude, we've been doing a lot this year. I'm a little overwhelmed. We've been doing a lot. It's exciting. Speaker 2 (0:59) Yes. We've been doing a lot. We're like, and here's a CE. And here's a job board. Yay. So that's what this episode is about. We are launching a social work job board. Oh Speaker 1 (1:16) my gosh. We're so excited. I'm so excited. I'm so excited. I feel like I'm also, Speaker 2 (1:22) I'm just like. I don't even need a job. But for some reason, I'm just really excited. I'm not even going to be using this. I'm just really excited for everyone else to finally see what we've been working on. Speaker 1 (1:35) Yeah. I feel like we started talking about this over a year ago, for Speaker 2 (1:40) sure. It's been a while. And we're like, we've got Speaker 1 (1:42) to create that job board. We've got to create that job board. And we're like, we will. We will. And then every time we would think about it, we'd get overwhelmed. And we'd be like, we'll do it later. We'll do it later. That's a lot of work. That's a lot of work. So this is a big deal. This has been something we've thought about for a long time. What feels like a long time. Speaker 2 (1:58) Really long time. I know. And it was your idea. I'm trying to think like when. When it happened. Talk about, yeah. Speaker 1 (2:06) I'm like, how did this come about? Well, I feel like the idea was really not my idea. It was an idea I heard about, right, from another profession. So we've talked about this before, too. Like, there's other professions that have job boards or have curated things for a specific profession. And one specifically is, let me get the actual title here. the informed SLP. SLP is speech language pathologist. They have a job board, kind of like what we're doing for social workers, but where they are really trying to find high paying, high quality jobs for SLPs. And they have this really cool job board where they have criteria for employers. Like you can't post on the job board unless you meet certain criteria. Like one thing is pay transparency. It's a big piece of their model. And I was... I heard that from my friend that she had heard about informed SLP and was like, it's really cool. And I was like, oh, we should do this for social workers. Like, we need this for social workers. So it wasn't really my idea, but it was like. thinking through how could we do this for social workers and then I was like Taylor we got to do this and you're like hell yeah let's do this yes yes because Speaker 2 (3:24) yeah there I mean there are two social work job boards that I know of I will not mention their names because they're a Speaker 1 (3:32) competition but Speaker 2 (3:36) I'm just gonna say I'm just gonna toot our own horn ours is way better Speaker 1 (3:43) We like our job board a lot. We do. We do. I just feel like the fact that it's something that we've thought a lot about, we've researched a ton, like, and we care a lot about it. I don't know. Like, this isn't something that we've just like. Just quickly put together. Yeah. Speaker 2 (4:05) Yeah. No, we've, I mean, it kind of escalated quickly because I think last year, I feel like it was last year that we were talking about it. And then there was another job board that we came across kind of when we were really deep into, you know, tech, trust and safety. We came across a job board, another specific, you know, industry needs job board, trust and safety jobs. Yeah. That. We really liked the layout and the design. And we thought maybe we should just reach out to that person who's been building that job board and see what's going on, you know, just for a conversation. And so we met with him beginning of this year of 2026, Claudio. Shout out Claudio. We love you, Claudio. Speaker 1 (4:52) Because he has seriously. Speaker 2 (4:55) He is the brains behind helping us bring this to life. But we met with him in the beginning of the year because that was kind of like quarter one goals. Let's just talk to Claudio and just see how this all works. And then we were like, okay, we're not going to commit. We're too busy. We're going to do this. Let me be in the fall. And then he emails us. Well, he emails us a quote. And then. And we were like, oof, that's deep. Not right now. Like we want to do it. By quote, we Speaker 1 (5:28) mean like hiring him and how much like we would need to front to make this project a reality. Right. And then we're like, Speaker 2 (5:37) OK, we're not going to do it right now. And then he emails us probably like a month later and was like was saying, hey, I'm trying to get into this job board space. You know, he already had like three other job boards, but he's wanting to help other people build theirs. And so he just felt like he said, I think yours would be a great use case. I'm willing to do 50 % off if you want to start, you know, if you if you want to sign this contract within essentially like the week. So we were like Speaker 1 (6:03) pressured. We're like, let's do it. OK, let's do it. Speaker 2 (6:07) So what? Speaker 1 (6:09) March, I think. Yeah, whatever. So. Speaker 2 (6:14) Shout out Claudio because, yeah, he definitely brought it to life and we've spent a lot of time with him. And he lives in Italy. Just so interesting, so random. So fun. Speaker 1 (6:27) Yeah, so we were just having these little international calls with Claudio building this job board. And there's a lot we've learned and a lot that has gone into like the back end of things. And I think one thing that's really helped to build the job board, which... I don't know if this is where we want to go next in the podcast, but like, Taylor, your work of figuring out, I mean, over the last many, many years, like what types of work, like jobs social workers can have, what types of jobs they can apply for and like the job titles they should be searching is like our database of what, you know, how a lot of this has been built. Because then you're telling. your job board what to search for on a larger scale and what to pull onto the job board. And it's been cool to see like all of that work actually show up in this way and actually create a huge, awesome, robust job board. Totally. I was not expecting that last year because last year Speaker 2 (7:32) was when I was thinking, okay, you know what? There's so many job titles that social workers don't even know about. that they can do, you know, that they can, they can search this job or they're qualified for essentially, but it doesn't say social worker. I started, you know, compiling all these job titles over months and months of work. And then I Speaker 1 (7:52)
