Now, they'd been having lots of fun making up their own little games when outside their treehouse, they heard a voice. Hello? Hi? Anybody there? Who? Who's that? Said Tyler. I don't know, said Katie. Let's go look. They raced to the edge of the treehouse to see. Um, there's no one there, said Tyler. Just a donkey. Yeah, just me, the donkey. What? Said Katie. Did that donkey just talk? Uh, I think so, said Tyler. Wow, did he? said the donkey. Uh, you're the donkey. Oh yeah, haha, yep, that's me, haha. Hi! Um, who are you? said Tyler. My name is Dilbert Octavius Gregorius III, but my friends just call me Dog. Dog the donkey? said Katie. Haha, that's me, haha. Hey, what are you kids doing? he said. Um, well, we were just playing in our treehouse, but we were trying to decide what to do next. Um, well, I've got something exciting to do next, said Dog. What is it, said Tyler? Well, I found this really cool thing in the forest and I thought it'd be fun to share it with some other people. Do you guys want to come? Um, okay, said the kids. Hang on, we'll just check with our dad. So the kids raced inside to chat with their dad. Hey, dad, can we go on an adventure with a talking donkey? Um, sure, said their dad. Sounds like fun. Okay, the kids raced back outside. Hey, hey, dog, we're allowed to come. Hooray, said dog. Oh, I'm so excited. I love taking people on adventures. All right, let's go, he said. Um, hang on. Shouldn't we grab some things first? What? What for? Well, if you're going into the forest, you should definitely be prepared, said Tyler. Yeah, said Katie. Hang on. They went and grabbed some drink bottles and a backpack and they threw a few things in there as well. Oh, I've never thought of that before, said dog. Um, okay, well... Are we ready now? He said. Sure. All right, you lead the way. Okay, said Dog. Let's go. And they started to head off into the forest. It was very fun because they were walking around different trails and following different paths and they could see all kinds of amazing things. As they wandered along through the trees, there were big tall ones with giant branches and there were little ones just starting to grow. And there was all kinds of little creatures scurrying around the forest as well. This is really fun, Dog, said Tyler. Yeah, I know. I love going for walks through the forest. Yeah, me too, said Katie. It's so pretty. And as they walked and they walked, they got further and further into the forest until Dog said, All right, now, the next part is very, very fun, but it's a bit of a secret. So how about you guys jump on my back and close your eyes and then I'll take us the last little bit and then you'll be able to see the very special thing. Um, okay, said the kids. So. They jumped on Dog's back and he continued to walk into the forest. All right, it's this way and then this way. Make sure you keep your eyes closed, said Dog. We will, said Katie. Yeah, said Tyler. We're keeping them closed very, very tight. And then we go this way and then hold on because we're going to go very fast for a bit, said Dog. Okay, said the kids. They held on and they could feel Dog moving very, very quickly. This is so weird with our eyes closed, said Katie. Yeah, said Tyler. I've got no idea where we're going. Dog continued to run and run deeper into the forest. He was following some kind of strange path and he kept going and going. The kids were laughing
