Speaker 3 (0:04) The Speaker 1 (0:05) city moves fast, but your vibe, that's different. Sharper, smoother, more alive. Speaker 2 (0:15) The new Speaker 1 (0:20) Honda City isn't just made to drive, it's made to feel. The new Honda City, all new vibe. Speaker 1 (0:32) This is why Blank lost. This is why Blank lost. Oh baby, this Speaker 2 (0:40) is why Blank lost. Speaker 5 (0:50) Welcome back to Why Blank Lost. I'm David Bloomberg, and I know I speak for my co-host Chappelle and many others when I say, Camus gone! Woohoo! Speaker 5 (1:00) We Speaker 4 (1:01) did it. We did it, David. We did it. Man, I have never loved Angela Murray more a day in my life. OK, like I have been on record that that lady has some elite Karen skills. OK, when she decides to go there, she can go there. But watching her in that blockbuster lock in and do exactly what I wanted to happen this week. Oh, my God. Cinema. I'm never going to forget where I was because I'm in the same spot when I watch all the big brothers for the most part. But I'm never going to forget where I was when. 50-year-old Lala beat him in a wall and 50-year-old Angela beat him in a blockbuster. It's like, we did it. We're here. I'm so happy. Speaker 1 (1:40) Yes. Yes. Speaker 5 (1:42) So, of course, with that said, we still have a job to do here. And just because we're happy to see him leave the Big Brother house doesn't change how we'll evaluate his game. It'll be just like anyone else, which is that we will compare how he played to a set of guiding rules I originally wrote way back in 2004 and have modified ever since. And we will, of course, analyze his actions using what we saw on TV, live feeds, interviews, and other information. with the most recent published version posted at robhaswebsite.com slash bigbrotherrules. Now, some people may be like, why do you repeat that every time? We know. We listen. We know. There are always new people. There's always a different number of people listening and watching. And the YouTube algorithm may show it to some new folks who have no idea what we do here. So that is why. Speaker 5 (2:29) But before we get to all of that for Kamu, and even before we get to the part that I normally say when I say before we get to, I do want to mention something, and that is for RehapCon Milwaukee. So at the very end of the podcast, I have mentioned a few times, hopefully everyone always listens till the very end, but I have mentioned I will be there. Chappelle, unfortunately, will not. But I hope to see a number of you there. And I'm also trying to organize one or more Why Blank Lost meetups to ensure that anyone who wants to get together and talk has time to do so. I know that I've been at events before where it's like, oh, you know, I just didn't get a chance to talk to you or I didn't feel right going up to you because you were in a conversation. We're there for three days. I know not everyone will be there for three days because some people just have day, you know, can only go for a day or so. But first of all, feel free to come up to me. Second of all. I'm going to try and set these up. So if you're on the Discord, you know, look, look for it there. If you're not on the Discord and you can't get on the Discord or don't want to, then we'll, we'll try to have some other way of, of mentioning that. But yeah, I hope to see some people there. Speaker 4 (3:42) Yeah, that's exciting. I think that, you know, like. go have lunch with David. I would definitely find a time to come and bug you. You know, David's got years of experience in media, which is something very popular going around these days. And so I, you know, pick his brain, ask him why some other people lost and then stick around. Cause I think David might have some other things in his, you know, up his sleeve for that week. So I hate, I'm going to miss it. Speaker 5 (4:05) Yeah. Yeah. Me too. Me too. All right. Now we have a couple other things to discuss this week in general. One topic that came up multiple times this week is the fact that there were, well, I don't know how to say this other than to say it, several dummies in the house who somehow did not realize that Devins and Dee were tight and working together. Now, the main two culprits were Kamu and Yash, who just recently, like since we last talked, I believe, realized those two must have a Survivor connection. No way. Who would have thought that two people who had just played together on Survivor 50 might be working together? Speaker 4 (4:53) Yash doesn't know who Seri is. So I don't, you know, what are we doing? You know, if he don't know who Seri is, I can't. That means he's missing a part of his heart. And I hate that for him. Yeah. Speaker 5 (5:03) Yeah. I have some thoughts on that aspect. But, you know, sticking for Dee and Devin's first, I will say it is true. They sometimes did not appear to move in lockstep in the house. Like when Devin's admitted he voted out Lyric while Dee denied it. But I still just don't understand how everyone in the game didn't know or presume it. If I hadn't seen Camu and Yash talking about this on live feeds before the HOH comp, I would have thought Dee and Devins were even crazier to put on the whole show of picking each other in this knockout to hide that they were working together. Now, don't get me wrong. It was still a dumb plan. Still crazy. Still crazy. Speaker 4 (5:47) Led Speaker 5 (5:48) to a lot of avoidable problems this week. But that's not the point that I'm making here. And then after Yash talked about nominating Dee. And Devins came up with this whole ridiculous plan of he was going to volunteer. And by the way, if you're just watching TV, you saw none of this. But he was going to volunteer to go on the block himself. So he would use the diamond power of veto on himself to be safe and not have to use it on D. So he wouldn't show how close the two of them were. Speaker 4 (6:20) Mm hmm. Wild behavior. Definitely something that I raised the eyebrow at. You know, it's not the wildest thing that they came up with, which is which is actually something that is interesting to think about. But David, I think for people and I'll give Yash. Well, I'll give Kamu some credit. He clearly has watched the show before. Yash has not. So Yash does not know how valuable. a known quantity is in Big Brother. People who know each other go far in this game all the time. It could be your ex. It could be your dad. It could be your son. It can be every time. Your aunt's girlfriend. We've seen it all. And every time, those people work together, no matter what. We were told Dick and Danielle, that season, there was definitely some beefs that were insurmountable. It didn't look like Dee and Devin were beefing. In fact, they were in multiple alliances together that y'all knew about. And so because of that, you have to assume that they were at least working to each other. They were cordial enough and they already knew each other. They knew each other from previous to Survivor 50 because they both played prior to Survivor 50. You have to imagine they've met each other before then, but then they also just played in Survivor 50. That made them a lot tighter. And just knowing that these two people were even familiar with each other outside the house. that should have been enough for you to immediately be like, look, I don't even know if they're together. I can't prove it, but I'm still going to put them up because I know they know each other. Speaker 5 (7:52) Yes, this is what I'm saying. Like, you have to assume that. And even after the conversation that I mentioned where the light bulb finally dimly went on, it wasn't solidified until Devin's literally pulled D off the block because. That's when Yash told Drew Barrett and Melody, ah, this shows the extent of Dee and Devin's relationship. Yeah. And he also said every move gives information. Yes, that is very true. But this is information you should have figured out a long time ago. And I've talked about this a bit in some videos I've posted. And inevitably, someone will comment that, well, you know, they probably didn't, you know, Yash and Kamru, they didn't watch Survivor, so they didn't know. I don't care. I don't care. If you know, like, same as, you know, with Sri, I don't care whether you know Sri or not. I mean, I do care. in my heart, but I don't care for this because if you know two people are coming in who are just on another show together, your base level presumption should be they will be working together closely until proven otherwise. I mean, I guess props to Devens and Dee for convincing them. I just don't understand how it's possible. Speaker 4 (9:18) Hey, it worked. I watched Jared and Seri sit in that house with the same exact face and had people questioning whether Jared was related to Felicia. You know, like that's that's how insular, I guess, the game makes everything right. Like you're so in your little bubble that you can't see the forest for the trees. You can't see the things moving around you because I just knew the first time they actually spoke to Jared and Seri, they were going to be like so clearly. Y'all are related to some extent, right? Because they look the same, like carbon copies of each other. We saw Davon in the past do that with Tiffany and Vanessa. It's like she immediately clocked it. That's kind of her superpower. But for these people, it just looks like once they get in there, they forget about the outside world and they start creating their own environment, their own ecosystem, and the things that they know that should ring true don't. You know, we've seen people forget about whole ass relationships outside the house. You know? And so, and kind of in this season too, a little bit. And so, I'm not shocked that it happened, but I'm definitely disappointed in them as players. Speaker 5 (10:20) Yeah, yeah. I happened to be rewatching the episode where Ceri's son tells Blue, oh, yeah, I'm related to someone in the house. Some people may be like, why are you rewatching that? All may become clear in due time. But Speaker 4 (10:37) I was just even rewatching it. I was like, Speaker 5 (10:42) why are you telling her this? But yes, that was years ago. Speaker 5 (10:53) Instead, let's talk about things that are happening now, because I know one topic that you wanted to discuss is related somewhat to one we talked about last week, which is Lala, because we mentioned, you know, last week she said she was pretending to be clueless as part of her game and wondered how much was that and how much wasn't that. And this week, things took a bad turn for her in the way other people treated her. Speaker 4 (11:19) Right. So we've seen HOH-itis have this effect on people before where you become the HOH and then you start to treat people differently because you're the HOH and then people rebel against you. Right. We look at Thog. Thog was the HOH and she is yet to find her footing again in the game. It just if you don't handle that with care, you know, you will lose a lot of people. You could really isolate a lot of people like that because you don't have as much power as you think you. you choose who can go up, but you don't choose who goes home. And so the way you handle people, these people might be back to at least two of them are coming back into the game. And so I think with Lala kind of mishandling her social interaction with that, it gave license to people to really resent her. And because they were resenting her, a lot of bad behavior started coming out in the house. It was, they were already, you know, like. sprinkles of bad behavior throughout the season. I won't say it just started because of that, but it really did get worse after Lala's HOH to the point where it's become something that people can't really ignore that the way people talk to Lala, the way people interact with Lala and Taylor, it's just, it's not the same type of energy you would have for Angela, who is a known loose cannon, right? You know, people in the house saying, oh, Lala's going to blow up on us. Taylor's going to blow up on us. When we watched Angela cuss thog out like I ain't never seen before. That should be a top 10 Big Brother moment. And it got swept under the rug so fast. But these people are concerned about, you know, the two black women in the house reacting. We saw that in Big Brother, the second Big Brother All-Stars with Davon and Bailey. Christmas walking around saying, I think she's going to try to shoot me in the face. What? She don't try to shoot you. With what gun? And also like you. Anyway, rap sheet. So, you know, so I just feel like when you have those moments. You know, those are definitely moments where we should be looking forward to flag those like these are problematic behaviors. A lot of people were very happy to see Kamu go because of his problematic views and behaviors in that house and outside of the house. And I totally get that. I was definitely one of, if not, I'm with the haters when it came to the way Kamu was acting and presenting himself. But a lot of people have noticed that the way Lala is treated as an older black woman is not right. you know, telling her to stay in the kitchen and cook and not talk a game. It's like, hey, that's grown ass lady. You know what I'm saying? To me, there's just a level of respect that you have for older people, but also a level of care you take with people who are minorities. You know, black women will catch the strays of most minority groups. Massage Noir is a thing, right? Because it's a weird intersection where they're affected by black. stereotypes and tropes and negativity, but they're also, you know, struggling with misogyny at the same exact time. And so it's like that creates a whole different world of problems where both sides will say, well, these are your issues. These are your issues. Now you find everybody kind of picking on this group of people. And I'm not saying they did it to their faces, but creating an environment where. everybody in the house is villainizing them in a way that it's not game related, where you're saying things like, oh, they don't deserve to be here, which we hear every season of Big Brother, honestly. But also, you know, like they need to, you know, just the way you demand their subservience and the way they should be acting and the things that they need to do, even from within their allies. Yash Taylor has even had words with Lala that I was like, I don't know if I would have approached it like that. But regardless. None of these people are perfect and people are making mistakes. And it's up to, you know, everybody to call out when they see racist behavior. So the Kamus of the world, it's bad. But then also this is bad, too. And it's my hope that maybe, you know, when they come out of the house, they will see the error of their ways. I'm sure Kamu is out of the house now. And I don't know if he's going to change the way he thinks or the way he was. Yeah, I highly doubt it. Right. But these people there, we currently have them in our hamster wheel right now in our hamster cage. We're watching and they are making mistakes. And when they come out, it's on them to reflect on that and to and to also acknowledge that those things are bad, too. They can permeate and the small things can spiral out of control and become common one day, you know. And so so that was really bothering me. And David, you know why I came, why I really wanted to say something. I got on. Facebook yesterday and I saw a post about Danielle Reyes. The first mistake. I saw a post about Danielle Reyes and the comments were like, who is this lady? Who is this lady? I didn't like her attitude. I don't like Ms. Attitude. And I was like, attitude? I was like, Speaker 5 (15:52) she Speaker 4 (15:52) didn't do anything. She didn't do anything on stage where you would be like, I don't like your attitude. And the caption was like, she said she wanted Taylor to win. I said, that's not what she said. She said she wanted her to win the power. And the crowd said it too, honestly. I think even Julie said it along with her. To me, it didn't look like she came in and was like, I'm rooting for the only black person. But to those people in the comments, they ran with it. And those are things that could have been stopped a long time ago. You're right. Like calling people out for that kind of stuff prior to them being grown ass people who will never change their views. It's important because you don't want people to spiral into something that is unstoppable and a lot more heinous than it started off. So that's my little rant. you know, I just, you got to say something at some point, but I try to, you know, try to enjoy the fun parts of Big Brother and not really get wrapped up in all that stuff. But it's hard to watch when you see people getting othered so hard in the house, even if it's behind their back. It's real, it's still tough to watch. And Speaker 5 (16:46) not all of it was behind their back. I mean, you know, we started, now again, not on TV. This is all live feeds and they just totally blew by this. We started with Haley calling her a bully. Right. And to her face, to the point that Lala was so upset, she literally went, well, Haley said, everybody has told me, because we know Haley would never exaggerate. But Haley said, every single person here has told me you were bullying me. Speaker 2 (17:16) And Speaker 5 (17:17) Lala went to every person in the house and said, please tell me the truth. Was I bullying Haley? Everybody was like, no, in no way, shape or form. Were you a bully? Speaker 4 (17:33) Yeah. Speaker 5 (17:34) Meanwhile, we Speaker 4 (17:35) watched Angela cuss that lady out like a dog on the street. And it was Lala who came in there to get Angela out of there. Right. Speaker 4 (17:44) Yeah, this is the same person that's going to be so volatile that you can't, you know, can't talk to them about these things. But Angela gets a pass. And I think that people we need to look closer at moments like that and say, like, OK, well, why does Angela get to be super Karen? And then Lala can't get upset for being blindsided. Speaker 5 (18:00) And Angela was fine, Speaker 4 (18:01) you know, but she still acted like she wasn't. And just from crying and making a scene, she got sympathy. Her and Thog are cool again. You know, it didn't last very long. Right. Right. Speaker 4 (18:16) It's tough to watch. You know, we really want to enjoy this show. Everybody should be able to enjoy Big Brother. But, you know, when you see stuff like that, it does make it hard to watch. Yes. Yes. Speaker 5 (18:26) All right. Well, to change to a somewhat lighter subject, which also happens to be about Angela, I wanted to mention the way the blockbuster ended. And some people are probably like, wait, you guys are talking about topics that you never talk about on here. What is this? Why are you talking about a comp right after talking about what happened with people mistreating Lala? And although I think we do talk about that. As we were all watching, I could not believe that Angela had all her balls placed properly and then started taking some out of the tubes. And I know this has been an ongoing topic on social media. My son asked me what was going on here. She almost lost it because of this. So I have pieced this together because she had like 11 or 12. And instead of just hitting the button, because that's more than 10. She risked losing by opening to get down to exactly 10. Now, no rule was ever explained that we heard that it had to be the exact number. Julie never said anything about it at the time. Then Dalton Ross mentioned it in their weekly interview. Julie did not say anything about it then. Tucker posted a video of himself watching Angela. Tucker, who instructed Angela on how to win this and therefore would know the rules. was confused at what Angela was doing there. Speaker 4 (19:56) So there's Speaker 5 (19:58) one of two possibilities. Angela was right. And it's some new rule that Julie didn't know. Tucker didn't know. And nobody else knew but Angela or Angela completely misunderstood and could very well have lost by taking this extra time to get down to 10. I'd say she was lucky to be able to do that and still win. But like I mentioned, she had gotten information from Tucker on how to win that exact comp. And the funny thing is, she had told Haley how to do it. Haley had told Kamu how to do it. But foolishly, neither of those two did, with Haley later making a comment that she didn't want the fan under the floor to scrape off her tattoos or... something, which I feel like unless they're like press on tattoos, that's not the way tattoos work. Speaker 4 (20:50) Yeah, I don't know what she was talking about there. But Angela gave them the keys. She did. And which is also wild. Angela, if you know how to break a competition, keep it to yourself. Keep it to yourself. But David, you know, if Angela had tried to press that button and she had 12 in there and Julie said, ah, Angela, it has to be 10. Then we'd be like, Angela, what the hell? You know, so I think she did a like better safe than sorry. But you're right. She was cutting it close. They were on her tail. It was just the most stressful blockbuster. I Speaker 5 (21:23) mean, my heart's beating Speaker 4 (21:25) out of my chest because, again, not the biggest Angela fan, but I also want her to win so badly. And the way her technique was, you really couldn't see that she was stockpiling these things. You know, it just looked like she was struggling. And so every time she would come up and have a few more balls, I was like, oh, is Angela about to do this? And I didn't want to jinx it. But, you know, we all start to have the realization at the same time. Her pulling those last couple balls out definitely had me panicking, but it worked out for her in the long run. Yeah. Speaker 3 (22:02) The Speaker 1 (22:02) city moves fast, but your vibe, that's different. Sharper, smoother, more alive. Speaker 2 (22:13) The new Speaker 1 (22:18) Honda City isn't just made to drive, it's made to feel. The new Honda City, all new vibe. Speaker 5 (22:27) Well, I do want to move on to our, well, sort of move on to our regular, semi-regular segment. But we don't actually have specific material for the Juliet Chen Moonves' Wrong About Blank segment this week. I'd just say something that is generally true about her, rather than, you know, some specific thing she said, which is... Julie, if a player is a Christian and shouts out Jesus, that doesn't mean you have to love them no matter what their other horrible behavior is that they have demonstrated in the show or in real life. But you shout out Jesus to Julie and she will love you. That's it. But the thing is, I say this as a non-Christian, but saying you're a Christian and then showing hate. That does not conform with her love one another message. I've Speaker 4 (23:32) always been kind of. I've always been kind of confused about the transformation of Julie over the years. You know, we coined the phrase chin bot because she was so like she was very like off the teleprompter. She had no type of feeling toward the game. You never really saw. She kind of break character every now and then, slap Marcellus up the head, you know, but stuff like that. But for the most part, Julie was kind of, you know, you can pay by the numbers. Then after some controversies in her own life, she came back. She had a new name and she had this like. Southern Baptist auntie kind of vibe to her. And I don't hate it. You know, I am a Christian, but I do find it interesting that, you know, Julie has made that almost her primary platform. You know, I don't know if Julie's still doing. Is it that she was on a talk? I don't know if she's still doing that. I highly doubt it. Speaker 5 (24:23) They fired her from that. The only thing she has left is Big Brother, as far as I know, when when her husband got. for very good reason. She got removed from anything other than Big Brother. Speaker 4 (24:37) Yeah. So the biggest two things that I know Julie from at this point now are Big Brother and her podcast, God 101. And so I think she's like trying to merge the two things seamlessly, right? Like, so you come out of the house. And you go straight to God one on one. We've seen atheists on God one on one. We've seen, you know, gay people on God one on one. The people that the people who are aligned with a lot of, you know, those radical Christian values, they would hate it. Right. But Julie does have this love one another persona going on right now. And I don't hate it. I like I like love one another. I do. It's grown on me. Obviously, it's Bible scripture. But I think you're right. Like to me. love isn't unconditional for everybody. I think, you know, you can have an unconditional love for like a parent or a spouse or a child or something like that because or whatever those familial ties are. But certain people who are giving you hate, I think is, you know, you're well within your bounds to protect
