Speaker 1 (0:03) The soldiers approached the small port. There was screaming all the people of that little town. They shouted to the fog that came from the sea. When they saw them, they asked them to shoot at the fog. The soldiers did not understand, until they saw a figure drawing little by little. A boat approached. A very strange boat came out of the fog. Speaker 1 (0:37) There are stories, my dear community, that we can immediately recognize as horror stories. A haunted house, an apparition on a road, a macabre laugh that runs through the trees in the forest. But the stories of this night are different. In fact, when we finished preparing them, we realized that it was difficult to even find a way to describe them, because the three begin in completely different places and situations. They do not share a legend, they do not talk about the same phenomenon, and probably each of you will end up with a different explanation for what happened. The only thing they have in common is that they are strange. Maybe you find an answer. We don't have it. Get ready to hear three of the strangest cases that have come to us. Welcome to Nights Tales. Hi, Uriel. I'm 52 years old and I've known Nights Tales for a long time. Although I confess that until relatively recently I started listening to it with attention. Speaker 1 (2:34) I used to know about the channel. I had heard some loose story, but now it became a habit. I listen to one or two episodes every day, sometimes while driving, sometimes at night. And that's how I started to think about some things that have happened to me and that maybe could interest the community. Speaker 1 (2:56) During a part of my life I was a soldier. I don't want to say exactly where this happened that I'm going to tell, mainly because I don't know if doing it can get me into some problem, although many years have passed already. What I can say is that for a while I was assigned to a fairly remote area, between mountains. Our camp was far from any city and the nearby towns were very small. It was an area where one could spend days seeing practically nothing. From time to time we would go down to one of those towns to see something, or to buy something to eat. It was close to the coast, although getting there from where we were taking time on the way. It was a fishing town, but not like those places where big boats arrive or where there is an industry around fishing. It was small, where people fished mainly for themselves, to sell a little among the same inhabitants or take something to nearby communities. There were only very small boats. We had already gone down several times. We bought some things, we ate, we took a walk and we came back. People were locating us and we were also starting to recognize some faces. The day this happened, I went down with two other companions. I don't remember exactly the date, but I do remember that the weather was strange since we arrived. There was a lot of humidity and from the sea came a fairly thick mist. At some point the fog began to cover part of the coast, and from certain streets it was barely possible to distinguish where the town ended and where the water began. We didn't give it importance. We came from being on the mountain where it was also common for the time to close from one moment to another. We were used to it and that's why we didn't go back. Speaker 1 (4:55) We had been in town for a while when we heard sudden screams, very altered, so much so that at first we thought there had been an accident. The three of us turned to where the noise came from and saw several people running to the coast. We approached. I remember especially that there were women screaming and men making signs towards the sea. In such a small place, a commotion like this immediately caught our attention and we were also uniformed. While we approached, we tried to understand what was happening. There were a lot of people talking at the same time. Some shouted at the water, and others shouted at those behind. We saw a lady crying. I also remember an older man who looked very upset and made signs with his arms, as if he wanted something to go away. When we got there, we asked what had happened. No one answered us well. They just pointed at the sea. No sé qué tan lejos estaba. Con la bruma era difícil calcular las distancias, pero sí estaba lo suficientemente cerca para distinguirlo. It was a bigger boat than the ones we normally saw there. The first thing I thought was that maybe it had had some problem and was trying to get close to the coast. There were people up there. We saw that too. I couldn't say how many people. Several figures on the boat were distinguished and voices were heard coming from there. They were screaming something. Speaker 1 (7:24) That's when the situation became very strange because we kept seeing people in a boat. We didn't know who they were or what was happening, but the people around us were terrified. There were those who began to retreat as the boat became more visible in the fog. I tried to ask who they were, what they had done, why they didn't want to arrive, but no one gave me a response that made sense. They just repeated that we shouldn't let them get close. The people who came to the boat kept screaming. We didn't understand what they were saying. At least I didn't understand a single word. Between the distance, the voices of all the people we had around and the sound of the sea were impossible, but I do remember those voices perfectly. And the closer the boat got, the more hysterical people got. We even started to feel it. That's something I still remember very well, because at first the three of us were relatively calm. Confused, of course, but calm. We were soldiers, and we were used to the fact that when we arrived uniformed somewhere, people would look for us if there was any problem. That's why our first reaction was to find out what was happening. But fear is contagious. When you have 20, 30 people around you, looking at the same place with true terror, you start looking for what they are seeing that you still don't understand. I looked back at the boat. It was then that I realized that I was old, very old. I don't know about boats and I don't know what year it could be, but I knew it was a boat from another time. It didn't look like the boats, already old people from the town. It looked worn out, dark, and the people who went up didn't distinguish themselves well either. For a while the fog covered them and then they reappeared. Speaker 1 (9:34) One of my teammates started asking the villagers what they wanted us to do. Everyone was talking about everyone. The other teammate was looking at the boat and suddenly he raised the gun. I remember well that I turned to him. I saw him when he shot into the air. The sound made everyone jump. It was just one shot. For a few seconds a very strange silence was made. Even the people stopped screaming. My teammate was still with the gun raised. Speaker 1 (10:11) I knew him. We had spent a lot of time together and I can say that I didn't know what he was doing. He didn't receive any orders. None of us had decided to shoot. He just
