Speaker 1 (0:04) There in the town lived a lady called Judencia. She had very bad fame. People said she did witchcraft and there were those who assured to have seen her at dawn, dancing naked inside a cave known as the Cat Cave. I never imagined that I would end up knowing the truth behind that lady. There are those who assure that some witches can get a person sick, enter their dreams, even become animals. And there are also those stories that surely many of you have heard since children. The ones about lights that appear at night, moving away, and that our grandparents said they were witches. Maybe all these stories talk about completely different things, or maybe, in different ways, they talk about the same thing. Tonight we are going to hear some of them in this special of witches. So, without further ado... I have very vague memories because it was very small, but I remember seeing shadows, silhouettes that moved through the corridors of my house. I also remember an old woman who appeared inside my room. She was always in a corner, sitting, weaving. The threads were dark and I remember that they seemed very long, as if they never ended. Speaker 1 (2:37) I can't tell you much more about her because over the years those memories have become more and more blurry. I've buried them. And it's just that when I grew up I stopped seeing her. The shadows also disappeared little by little, although from time to time I could still see some until not long ago. What remained was a kind of sensitivity towards people in me. Since I was young I felt that I could realize when someone was lying or when someone approached with bad intentions. It is difficult to explain it without sounding strange. There were simply people who from the first moment caused me something, and many times later I ended up discovering that I was right. During a time I got very close to religion. I went to temples, prayed and tried to get away from all that. Until I met Diego. We were classmates. Diego was tall, very handsome and one of those guys who always caught my attention. I liked him a lot. The problem was that I was not interested in him at all. I think I could even say that for him I was invisible. And I guess that's why I did what I did. Speaker 1 (3:54) I don't remember exactly how my interest in tarot came about, but I started saving the money they gave me to buy food at school. I stopped buying my snack for weeks because I wanted to buy a deck. I did it hidden and when I finally got enough together, I got my first tarot. I started practicing alone in my room. At first I really didn't know what I was doing. I read the letters intuitively, trying to understand them on my own, until I ended up approaching the same woman who had sold me that first mazo. In the town they knew her as a witch. She was the one who started teaching me, and practically everything I was learning at that moment had only one intention. Diego. Speaker 1 (4:43) He already had a girlfriend and I was obsessed with him looking at me, so I ended up doing a job for him. It was my first ritual of that kind and I remember perfectly how I felt afterwards. I felt powerful. I felt, perhaps for the first time, that I could do something to change things in my favor. I also remember that after that job I began to feel something different inside my room. According to what I understood at that moment, something had hit me. I had done a job related to a cemetery, I don't want to say more, and I was convinced that it had to do with what I had done there. But the truly strange thing was Diego, because he started looking for me. After practically going unnoticed by him, he started looking for me in a desperate way. And yes, at first I suppose that was exactly what I wanted. I had done all that to get his attention. Speaker 1 (6:16) By then I was already deeply involved in all this, and it was also during this time that very strange things began to occur inside my house. The light bulbs. First it was the light bulbs that blinked all the time and suddenly melted at night. I heard whispers that seemed to call me from the walls, and also steps in the hallway when I knew there was no one. Then the voices began. Sometimes I could clearly hear someone saying my name when I was alone. Others... Others felt like someone was watching me. Even during the day. And I saw people crossing the front door, getting into the walls. The strangest thing is that I got used to it. Speaker 1 (7:07) I continued learning and eventually started doing clean jobs for colleagues and acquaintances. Some of them asked for favors, others sought to take revenge on someone. What for them was perhaps a curiosity or a game, for me it had become practically my occupation. Speaker 1 (7:27) My life also started to change because of that. Eventually I left college. The rumors about what I was doing started to circulate and I ended up suffering so much... so much discrimination that I abandoned my career. Despite everything, I kept doing work. Until one morning. He bent his neck to fit and not crash against the ceiling. He was wearing something like dark scarves and was there, in front of me. But what I remember the most is that he didn't have eyes. It looked like he didn't have them. I only saw two red spots that were dripping down his cheeks. I was very scared. I felt my legs shaking and tried to say the words of protection I knew, but at that moment I simply couldn't pronounce them. Si sigue aquí, ya no he podido verla. Y al menos agradezco eso. Dejé
