Speaker 2 (0:03) Welcome to Real Talk with me, Honey Ross. And Speaker 1 (0:05) me, Jonathan Ross. And this is the podcast where we chat about all the new film and TV that we have been watching. Some we've enjoyed massively, others we found hugely disappointing. Speaker 2 (0:16) If you want to catch up with our latest episode, we actually had a very good week where we weren't disappointed and we covered two brand new cinema releases, Sense and Sensibility, which is coming out this Friday. and the brand new Resident Evil from Zack Kreger, which has just dropped in cinemas. A very good week, if you ask me. Speaker 1 (0:33) And we also talked about season two of Badly in Love, the Japanese romance kind of reality show in which Yankees, which is the phrase they use for these kids who are sort of on the margins of society, are thrown together in a weird abandoned hotel in Okinawa, off-season, I think, because it looks like it's freezing, and they try and find connections and deal with past traumas and hopefully fall in love. And it's a great watch. Speaker 2 (0:57) Thank you if you've been in touch. Please do give us a follow on Instagram. Get in touch via DM. We are at Real Talk Ross on Instagram and we love hearing from you. Speaker 1 (1:05) And before we get into some of the content, we should deal with something which someone very kindly contacted us who was involved in the production of Practical Magic 2. They wish to Speaker 2 (1:16) remain anonymous, so we will not share any details, but they have said... Speaker 1 (1:20) Just a really important issue because we were saying how... the audience all laughed at the screening out when, because one of the characters is called Ian Wright, and we were wondering why on earth no one pointed out that Ian Wright is so famous and occupies such a sort of niche position in British entertainment society that having a character called Ian Wright, and often his name is called out and he is commented on when he's not on screen. I think one stage they said, we were wrong about Ian Wright. Obviously that got a big laugh. And we thought, that's Speaker 2 (1:47) a Speaker 1 (1:47) strange thing. Why did no one mention that? And then you received the message. Speaker 2 (1:51) I received a DM and I hope that I'm not breaking this person's trust by saying this, but the informant revealed that they were made aware of the Ian Wright conundrum and apparently chose to do nothing. So lots of the Speaker 1 (2:04) English people working on it. A lot of English Speaker 2 (2:07) people working on Practical Magic. Because Speaker 1 (2:08) it was Speaker 2 (2:08) filmed over here mainly. Apparently had flagged it and the choice was made to keep Ian Wright. And you know what? I think the film is richer for it. Speaker 1 (2:18) Ian Wright. It was the Ian Wong decision. But anyway, thank you for that. So we weren't kind of mistaken in thinking that it should have been noted, but they had it pointed out and they decided to ignore it. So let's get into some of the DMs we've had. Who's the first one? Our Speaker 2 (2:37) first DM is from the lovely Leah. Leah says, Dear lovely Jonathan and beautiful honey. Ooh, beautiful honey. Thank you. I got offered to be a Cenobite by my careers advisor. That's the Speaker 1 (2:48) secret phrase, thank you. That's the Speaker 2 (2:49) secret phrase. That means you're a ride or die listener and we love you. I love the pod. My husband is always mocking me by quoting you guys as if we're friends. Usually, quote, well, Jonathan says it's rubbish and, well, honey liked it so I'll give it a go. That's really sweet, thank you. My daughter and I are going to Japan in February. Trip of a lifetime. We are both big Ghibli fans and I love the kitsch. retro and weird side of Japan. She's a big anime fan and very into J fashion and Lolita fashion. Can't wait. To get us in the mood, what movies would you recommend we watch? Obviously, the Ghiblis are already on the list and if you can give recommendations for places to visit or top tips, they will be most welcome. Lots of love, Leia. Belfast. When Speaker 1 (3:29) you go to Japan, it depends on what you like, really. We don't know apart from the things you mentioned. If you like theme parks, I would recommend you go to Fujiku. which is the theme park near the base of Mount Fuji, which you haven't been Speaker 2 (3:40) to yet. Speaker 1 (3:40) I've never been to. Maybe we'll go this trip. And they've got a kind of haunted house there, which is a huge, they've built basically a
