Every episode, we recap reality television from the Real Housewives franchise to The Bachelor or Selling Sunset, in addition to celebrity guests. whether in the unscripted space or scripted as well. Raindrops. Alexis and I are back to talk about another episode, season 20 of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Listen, go on YouTube. Again, subscribe to my YouTube channel. You can see Alexis and I play it out because we're actually, and this was not predicted, we're matching. We're both wearing something sleeveless and black with bling. Speaker 3 (4:55) It's the first time we haven't been Ebony and Ivory. We're just Ebony. Yeah. We're ebony with jewels, except my skin is ivory. So, okay. Look at our get-ups. We did not know this, Carlos. It's so funny. Okay. Okay, you got bigger. See, I'm still waiting to arm wrestle you, but yeah. Speaker 2 (5:15) I know, listen. We definitely need to get an arm wrestle going. You look absolutely stunning as always. You look good. Speaker 3 (5:23) Your hair still looks very clean, like snatched, like last week. Yes, yes, Speaker 2 (5:27) I got a cut yesterday. It's funny because the raindrops are like, Alexis looks like a teenager. They're like, Speaker 3 (5:36) yes. Okay, so then guess what? Everyone else can F off that is like, why'd you pay the money for that facelift? You didn't even look like you got anything done. I'm like, bitch, you don't understand. That's what you want. You want people to just think you got a really good night's sleep. You don't want to look like you're all like. Speaker 3 (5:54) Oh, Speaker 8 (5:55) she beat Speaker 3 (5:55) her head. Speaker 2 (5:56) No, no, no, no, no. You, it's funny because, and that's a good point. Your face lived, I mean, but I will agree with them. I will say this. You know me. You were already like stunning, right? Which is how we viewed you. And obviously you're in your own skin. So, you know, listen, when you're living your own skin, you know, like, this can lose a little whatever. Speaker 2 (6:21) You do not look unrecognizable. And I think that's the point. Like, facelift should not make you look like a different person. It should really do what you said, which is let it look like I got a good night's sleep. Speaker 3 (6:36) Which we never do, Carlos. Like, let's be real. Like, in 365 days, there might be one night when I wake up one morning and I'm like, oh, my gosh, I got the best night's sleep of my life. And every other one, I'm like, okay, no. shabby. Speaker 2 (6:49) I Speaker 3 (6:50) constantly have good sleep right now. That's all. You Speaker 2 (6:53) look good, honey. We are awake because guess what? This episode woke me up again. I feel like... I don't know, Alexis. OC is back. Speaker 3 (7:04) I am really loving it. But I do have some inside scoop about, you know, I mean, so even though we have had a very, you and I have felt it's been very boring. The ratings, as you can, if you want to Google or whatever, but you can find out, the people are still tuning in. Yeah. Even though you and I have been like, so the ratings haven't dropped much. No. Now we're awake again. They got a facelift. They're starting to, but they're in the pre-op mode of a facelift. And we're about to get there. Speaker 2 (7:38) No, one thing I can say for sure is that you called it. You said, Carlos, maybe it's a slow start, you know, similar to Beverly Hills. Things will pick up mid-season. And I'm happy to say you were absolutely right. This episode started off with the continuation of the girls at Vicky's house. Look, Vicky's, I'm going to call it Vicky's house of horror. That's the episode title, right? Jamie, there you go. Vicky's house of horror. Because what ended last week was, you know, Vicky's not happy. The girls are challenging her. They're at her home, spending the night. Mike is not happy. He comes out. You hear the Freddy Krueger, Blair Witch Project music. Then Vicky's yelling at Luke Nesledge, who's the showrunner of the OC. You know, she's saying, get the fuck out of my house. So apparently... Jen and Emily heard that. So they're packing up their shit like she doesn't want us here. Vicky comes in and she's like, what are y'all doing? They're like, well, you're kicking us out like we're leaving. And she's like, no, I was talking about the crew. You guys can stay. And then they're sort of like, huh? But before we get to the kitchen moment. Speaker 2 (9:10) Did you take it like Vicky was talking about the crew? Speaker 3 (9:14) In the moment, no, but I can believe that she might have been. But here's my question to you. And I know I'm going to be the unpopular person right now, probably, which I don't care. But I feel like the girls were, Vicky kept giving several warnings. Like, let's just put a pin in this. Let's just stop. You guys are on me. Like, let's just stop and look. It's over. We're over it. You know, Vicky, come here. You want to be in the, you want to say hi? Okay. Everybody say hi to Speaker 1 (9:38) Vicky. Speaker 3 (9:41) started the podcast today mom in my lap he's just okay um anyway I I felt like I could understand why Vicky is sitting there going you know guys it's enough's enough because it's kind it was kind of like picking I felt like it was picking although I can see where the girls are like we're just trying to have a conversation so I see both sides but I also feel like everyone films they all know so if it's like okay we had enough we beat this dead horse let's move on why didn't they just move on Speaker 2 (10:08) Why Speaker 3 (10:08) didn't you Speaker 2 (10:09) come on? Yeah, to your point, though, and listen, I actually agree with you. I could see... I Speaker 3 (10:15) thought it was going to be an unpopular vote. Speaker 2 (10:18) No. Hear me out. I do agree with you that, look, and this is me being a producer, housewives have definitely yelled to kick out the producers and the production and the crew. That is a true thing. When housewives say, get the fuck out... Speaker 3 (10:35) Well, you're just done. Speaker 2 (10:37) You're just done. Yeah, but you also have to realize, are you talking about the crew or the cast or both? And that is the deciding factor in all of this. So although Vicky said it was the crew, I am inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt. Because in that moment as they're packing, you can tell that she did not want them to leave. Speaker 3 (11:07) I agree. Speaker 2 (11:08) You know, like, I felt that. Speaker 3 (11:11) There could also be this, Carlos. It could also have been, she said it in the moment. Vicky was just frustrated and they're picking on her. She could have said it in the moment and then not meant it and then blamed it on the crew. But at the same time, I do think she really just wanted everybody out of the house. She just wanted to enjoy her pizza and move on. I don't think, I honestly don't think Vicky had like malice in her heart to be like, everybody get the fuck out. I think what she said, everybody could just get the fuck out. I think she kind of, in my mind, was meaning more of the crew. I do too. I really do. Speaker 2 (11:40) I do too. I will say that. I will say that. Which led Emily and Jen to then go in the kitchen. Shannon, under her breath, whispers to Emily, like, if you have to go, I understand. I have to stay and talk to her about this. And I can't do it. And... Speaker 3 (12:02) Shannon didn't want to leave Vicky high and dry with everybody leaving. But Shannon, I think, could understand, like, yeah, it's uncomfortable. And I don't think we're going to get back on track from this. So I wouldn't leave my best friend either. I would be the one that would stay right there and be, you know, the one that would stay. Speaker 2 (12:20) Especially after last week, Vicky called her out and said, I felt like you did not have my back the way I would have had yours or had yours on the show. Shannon knew not to leave Vicky. She's like, I'm not leaving her. She's already mad at me. Me leaving? Oh, forget about it. Like, we're done. We're done. So she knew she had to stay. Jen was the one, to me, Alexis, that really encouraged Emily to be like, let's just go. Like, why are we sitting here talking about it? Like, Vicky doesn't want to dress it. She wants us to eat, right? The crew is here still filming us. And I understood Jen too, because the last thing you want to do is spend the night over someone's house, feeling uncomfortable being there. It's not a good feeling. Speaker 3 (13:10) I know. Speaker 2 (13:11) It's not. Speaker 3 (13:12) I know. And I think if I, I try to put myself in the situation and say what, what I've done, I think I probably would have left too. Honestly, even the differences, the difference is I'm closer to Vicky than Emily and Gina are. So I probably, I would have been able to stay and figured it out with Gina, with, um, with Vicky, but I, if I were Gina and Emily, I probably would have been Speaker 2 (13:33) an Emily. Speaker 3 (13:35) Oh yeah. Sorry. Jen and Emily. You're right. I would have, I would have left. I would have said, you know what, let's just let Shannon and Vicky figure it out. And yeah, I don't know. It's very sticky, but you know what? It may good TV. I like when it's real and authentic, not something that is kind of like they're trying to make something happen for the camera. You know, and this was definitely like real. It was a real moment thing. Speaker 2 (14:01) No, it was a real moment. And I'm with you. I would have also, look, I am 99 % sure Emily and Jen did not pay $500 for the Uber. Production paid. No, production Speaker 3 (14:16) took them home. Yes, okay. You know what production might have even done is even take them to a hotel, because a hotel would have cost more money. Yeah, they took their asses home. They said, we got you. We'll get you home. Speaker 1 (14:26) And production Speaker 3 (14:27) was probably like, thank you. We wanted to go home too. Speaker 2 (14:31) We ain't got to stay overnight. Perfect. Let's go. Let's all go home. So I would have done the same thing, especially because of this. And we, we'll get more into this towards the end, but. If I'm a woman in this house and there's one guy in it and that guy. comes across a little scary and I Speaker 3 (15:01) don't Speaker 2 (15:03) know. First of Speaker 3 (15:09) all, I don't like when all the girls were saying Mike was so mad. I saw no evidence of that. Mike walked in his house and went straight to his bedroom trying to stay out of filming and production. I did not see or get where any of them are saying, oh, he was so mad. You guarantee you. The boom would have been on that door with production if Mike was going off in that bedroom and they would have been listening to that. So I don't believe Mike was going off. I think the girls felt uncomfortable because he was there. I think the girls felt uncomfortable because Vicky was having an episode. But I'm not going to let Mike take any of the downfall on this. I do not think he was angry. I do not think he had one thing. He was just trying to stay out of everyone's way and figure it out. He probably did say to Vicky when she said. After that, she goes, yeah, but, you know, he just said, you're such a nice person. Why is this happening? He doesn't really get the whole filming thing yet. He doesn't understand a wraparound that we have to talk things out. We have to be on when the cameras are there. We have to be on. So he doesn't get all that. But I don't think he was there going, what the hell is happening? Why are these girls in my house? He knew they were going to be there. He knew the team was going to production was going to be there. He just simply scurried out of the way. So I don't agree with what everyone, when the girls are like, oh, Mike was there and he was mad. Well, we would have seen evidence of that because the production's not going to let that die. Speaker 2 (16:23) Listen, this is very strange once again. I agree with you. Speaker 3 (16:29) Wow. We have to wear black and bling every week because this is so well. When we match, you agree with me. If Speaker 2 (16:37) I Speaker 3 (16:38) don't telepathically know what Carlos is going to wear, he's going to disagree with me. But if we dress the same on a podcast, okay, got it. I've got it. Speaker 2 (16:45) There you go. There you go. So to your point, though, I, as a producer, I agree that if he was acting out, we would have shown it. How many times have you seen a shot of a closed door and subtitles? They Speaker 3 (17:03) have the bone. They can hear it. So then they're putting it in Speaker 2 (17:07) there. So to your point, no. We, in Mike's defense, there was no evidence of him being angry. Now, there is a thing called energy. Now. Could he have appeared to be a little upset, whatever? Sure. But I think as women, I do understand that this house isn't just a girl's, you know, night out. There is a guy there and, you know, they're hearing things about him popping up out of nowhere on trips and everything. So I... I'm just saying I do understand why they felt uncomfortable. And you and I both agree, we would have laughed. And I would have. Speaker 3 (17:57) A guy being at a girls' retreat. does kind of change the, not that it could even be negative, but it does change the energy. It is kind of like, okay, this isn't girls time. We can't just have girl talk now because what if he does hear one of the things we say, and we want to talk about something that we don't really want a guy to hear. Like it's girl, it's girl time. It's just like with guys, guys want to be with guys sometimes and girls want to be with girls sometimes. I don't fault Mike for being there. It is his house. It is odd that he's been at all the girls things though. That's kind of awkward or weird, but. But I don't fault him for wanting to be at his house when he's coming back from working. I mean, he's not going to stop his life for production. He's just not. He's not getting paid. Vicky is. Vicky has to do her job. But Mike can, I think Mike should be able to do what he wants. But I do think that whether he was in a bad mood, a happy mood, or whatever mood, I think they took his walking into the room and trying to get out of everybody's way as a bad mood. And I think he was in a definite no-win situation because it did change the girls. on how they were going to start, like, film the rest of the scene. Speaker 2 (18:55) Yes, yes, yes, yes. And that's the reason why I totally understand why they felt the need to leave, and they left, and they left. So then, after that, the girls are meeting separately. You have Tamara meeting with Jen, and then you have Shannon, Emily. Speaker 2 (19:15) Carmella. Was Jen at? No, no, no. Jen was with Tamron. Speaker 3 (19:19) It was Shannon, Emily, Carmella. Who Speaker 1 (19:22) was Speaker 3 (19:23) the fourth place? No. I was the fourth person. Well, there was four seats. We wouldn't both forget the fourth. It was only three. Three of them. It would be right. I'm like, because Gina was. Speaker 2 (19:33) Jamie, are we confused? Text me. Gina wasn't there. Nope. And Heather wasn't there. It Speaker 3 (19:40) was the three of them. Speaker 2 (19:41) Yeah. The Speaker 3 (19:42) fourth seat was empty. Speaker 2 (19:43) Okay. Thank you. We are so confused by the fourth seat. Speaker 5 (19:48) Hi, this is Kylie Brakeman, Angela Geritana, Jeremy Speaker 1 (19:51) Colhane, Patrick McDonald, and Speaker 5 (19:53) we're the hosts of the Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists podcast, the Speaker 1 (19:57) improvised character comedy podcast, where each week a new panel of artists discuss their craft. Join us for Speaker 8 (20:03) a panel of wellness Speaker 1 (20:04) influencers. What I try to do is faux journal. I don't know. Have you guys heard of faux journaling? Yeah, it's reading. It's called reading. So you're so we don't like to use that word anymore. Okay. Speaker 8 (20:15) A panel of New Yorker cartoonists. Speaker 1 (20:17) Have you guys done Terry Gross' Peloton class Speaker 8 (20:19) yet? No! Speaker 5 (20:20) I've been dying to. Speaker 8 (20:22) I'm so sorry. I'm seeing a reading of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Audra McDonald at the Wonderland Bookstore on 14th. Speaker 5 (20:30) That's crazy. I went to the Wonderland Bookstore yesterday and I heard Nora Jones do a reading of
