Speaker 1 (0:04) Welcome back for another episode of Reality Life with Kate Casey. I hope that you have had a great weekend. This is going to be your What to Watch episode for September 28th to October 5th. Now, I'm bringing this to you as well as my What to Watch list every week because I want to make sure that you are at the top of the leaderboard in your community, at your office, in your friend group. There are shows that are going to come out this week. There are going to be documentaries. You know this happens all the time. I want you to be on top of it first to watch it, first to discuss it. What I find is that if somebody is a beat behind, maybe they're watching The Crash, for example, right now, they're fired up and they want to talk to somebody about it. And everyone in the world has already watched it. So they're going to go, I have to talk to you about The Crash. Can you believe what happened? And everyone looks at them with cross eyes like, where have you been? That was like weeks ago. I want you to be the person that gives the information. about what to watch. You're going to carry this information to your group. And then you're going to be the first person people call when they want to talk about it. And then you're going to send them to my podcast because as you know, I'm most likely talking about it, maybe myself, but most likely with the subject, with the executive producer or the director. And then I'm going to give you more behind the scenes stuff. So we are going to be teammates in this. We are going to make everybody feel like a million bucks this week because They have all the information that everybody needs about what they're all going to talk about. So in order to make that happen, you've got to go to katecasey.substack.com. Make sure that your email is in there, that you're subscribed. But also make sure that you are subscribed to this podcast. And I would love for you to leave a five-star review. Why do you do that? Because it helps so much with pod metrics. It helps with charting and it helps with... When someone is going to consider coming on Reality Life with KKC, they're going to look to see how many reviews I've had and they're going to go, I'm in a safe place. I can go there. So all of your reviews are most helpful and this is subscriptions too. Okay, again, you and me, we're doing this together. We're going to have a great list. We're going to work together to make sure everybody gets to know what they need to watch this week. Okay, first thing, and I don't know if I mentioned it last week, but I want you to watch it. Kill Burry Print premieres Sunday on Peacock on September 27th. It follows the family-run McCurtain Gazette as it investigates allegations of sex, drugs, and violence within a local sheriff's office. All right, you're already like, I don't know how this is going to go. news organization, and they're investigating allegations of sex, drugs, and violence within the local sheriff's office. The newspaper then obtains these secret recordings in which the sheriff and then other officials are allegedly discussing having members of the newspaper family killed. So then suddenly the people reporting on the story become part of it. So I'm interested in what it takes to continue investigating when the people that you're investigating have power in your community, which I find absolutely terrifying. So September 27th on Peacock, it's called Kill, Bury, and Print. Now this one, you know that I already did an episode about it on Thursday. It's called The Swan Behind the Mirror. This is on Hulu. I put out an Instagram carousel and within one day, it had been shared like almost 11,000 times. That's because people have such a visceral memory of this show. And it's interesting to read through the comments because there are so many people that are like, well, they signed up for this shit show. What do they expect? But then when you start listening to them tell their story, oh God, it's awful. If you've never seen the original show, The Swan aired in 2004. It promised to transform women's lives. Contestants were given trainers and coaches and extensive cosmetic surgery. You think they're going to sign up like, oh, I'm going to get a facelift. No, they show up, they go, I'm all game. That's the problem. They say, I'm all game because these experts, which include, by the way, Terry Dubrow. They say, all right, we think you need a chin implant, your boobs done, a tummy tuck. You probably need an upper bluff. You need this, this, this. And they're all going to participate in the search. So they're going to do all of this surgery, which as we know from Heidi Montag back in the day, you can't do all those surgeries and expect somebody to heal quickly. They can't. It takes a lot of time. And on top of it, they're making them work out because they want them to lose weight because this is before it was epic. And then they also have to eat the cardboard food that's been sent to them. And now, by the way, one of my listeners wrote me and said, oh, my friends and I were going to LMU at the time and we knew we lived in the same complex. So we would get them pizza and other food. God bless, God bless. So this to me is a very interesting window into when you sign up for a show and they're not real clear on the dotted line. Also, they got their teeth done
