A Michael Speaker 2 (0:25) Jackson impersonator. The thing everybody's wanting to talk about. is your redneck bra injury. How's your leg? Speaker 1 (0:30) Okay, it's doing good. Well, I about lost it because they wanted to take it off because I got in Tennessee when they sent me there. They said I'd be there a month because it was from here down. There ain't no more bone. It's all titanium metal. Speaker 1 (0:50) titanium. What was Speaker 2 (0:52) the actual injury? The Speaker 1 (0:54) injury is my bone shattered just like a pipe. It turned, turned, turned, shattered, boom. And then, which I have a bone disease, but my doctor wrote a paper out and said that I shouldn't fight anyways, that I would probably end up with a broke bone. And I showed everybody that, you know, and that stuff. And sure enough, she was right. Well, you're also an Speaker 2 (1:22) adult, Speaker 1 (1:22) though. You know, if you want to fight, you can fight. Speaker 2 (1:24) Yeah, Speaker 1 (1:24) but I figured I'd be all right. But I'm glad it wasn't my back or nothing. But what happened was, now, Korea's... That's his name, right? Talk about the Speaker 2 (1:36) owner of the Redneck Brawl. The owner Speaker 1 (1:37) of the Redneck Brawl. That's his name, right? Yep. He has insurance and stuff. He has all that. But he should have followed me straight out there and turned it in so they would have wanted to kick me out. They told me I'd be there for 30 days until they found out I didn't have no insurance, and then they kicked me out the next day. So it took me two weeks to find a place to go. We didn't find no place to go. We had to call 911. Yeah, we had to call 911, yeah, because I had stuff gushing out and stuff and all that. And then I went to the hospital, and they sent me to Lex, and I had to have all the surgery. Speaker 1 (2:25) Yeah, because I had a faction and bound a faction. And they said I was going. And when I got to Corbin, I said, you know, I want to leave. And they said, if you leave, you're going to lose your leg and probably die. I said, well, the only way I'll stay here is if you give me enough pain medicine and enough nerve medicine and stuff for me to stay here. What pain medicine Speaker 2 (2:48) did you want? And Speaker 1 (2:49) the doctor said, okay. What pain medicine did Speaker 2 (2:51) you ask for? Speaker 1 (2:52) I asked for my regular medicine. give me OCs. And the whole time I was there, right now, I take a regular medicine. So did they Speaker 2 (3:02) transfer to University of Kentucky Hospital? Speaker 1 (3:05) Yeah, I was at three hospitals. And Speaker 2 (3:08) so Speaker 1 (3:08) how long were you at Speaker 2 (3:08) University of Kentucky? Speaker 1 (3:09) A month, probably. Then Corbin for two months. How Speaker 2 (3:15) many surgeries did you have to have on your leg? Speaker 1 (3:18) I had a... Speaker 1 (3:23) Two, two, two, three, two, three. Speaker 2 (3:27) I'm sure you're probably a little bit wobbly on those because you're probably, you know, the post-surgery. Speaker 3 (3:33) You had the bars in? Yeah, the bars and Speaker 2 (3:37) all Speaker 1 (3:38) that, Speaker 2 (3:38) yeah. Yeah, they did, yeah. Did I see that like two or three months after they let you out, you broke your leg again? Speaker 1 (3:44) Yeah, well, I didn't, I sprung, you know, I put a little too much pressure on it. You know, it hurt a little bit, but it didn't break. Okay, thank Speaker 2 (3:54) goodness. Speaker 1 (3:55) Yeah, you can't break it. It's titanium now. It can't break. Ain't no way you can hit it with a ball bat and it won't break. Yeah, Speaker 2 (4:04) Billy wanted to be here. He's doing something for his movie. Nothing coming, Speaker 3 (4:08) Bo. I Speaker 1 (4:08) wanted to ask you. I said, somebody said you wanted to sue Speaker 3 (4:14) us, and I thought we was friends. I was like, damn it. I made a friend. They tried to sue me first. Speaker 1 (4:22) I got my. Speaker 1 (4:24) I got mad because I figured you was flustered and was just I got mad at Chris because he didn't follow me out there. So you felt like you'd Speaker 3 (4:35) been mistreated Speaker 1 (4:37) on that? Yeah, Speaker 2 (4:38) like Speaker 1 (4:38) he just left me. Like he just left me. You know. Yeah. Yeah, like he just let me. Listen, I made them. Listen. Here, Speaker 2 (4:45) keep that mic closer, man. Speaker 1 (4:46) Listen, I made them a lot of money that day. I was going to say, yeah, we Speaker 3 (4:50) just there. Yeah, Speaker 1 (4:53) yeah, yeah, you ain't got nothing to do with it. Now, Speaker 3 (4:56) if Speaker 1 (4:56) I did Speaker 3 (4:56) the insurance paperwork, I would have took your notes and I would have been like, next time a fighter gets injured, Speaker 1 (5:00) we Speaker 3 (5:00) going. So, Speaker 2 (5:01) obviously, you came up a lot over the last few weeks because of the redneck brawl in Johnson City. Yeah. You know, all the fighters, they were talking about how, you know. you know, they just remember your fight being one of the most memorable, A, because of who you are, but also because of your injury. One thing that I have said is I would love for you to maybe do it again. Speaker 1 (5:22) Would you consider it? Speaker 2 (5:26) But would you do it again if you— For Speaker 1 (5:28) $5,000? You would actually fight again? I Speaker 2 (5:30) know Speaker 1 (5:30) the Speaker 2 (5:30) perfect Speaker 1 (5:30) opponent. Speaker 2 (5:31) I think that would be an amazing comeback story. Barrett, I know Speaker 3 (5:34) the perfect opponent. Speaker 2 (5:35) But this time— Big Speaker 1 (5:37) Ed. Big Speaker 3 (5:37) Ed, because it's technically— Speaker 1 (5:39) This time I was really trying. It'd Speaker 3 (5:41) be Speaker 1 (5:41) a good balance. It's two really big crowd getters, too. Speaker 3 (5:45) That'd be a good fight. Speaker 1 (5:46) I'd go out there. I love Ed. This time I really trained and go out there at Barrett's gym and really train and really get where I Speaker 2 (5:55) can. Speaker 1 (5:55) And we practiced for three hours in the back. So I was kind of already tired of me and my trainer. But we had a plan where I was just going to – all he had was a straight jab so I could duck at easy and just come in and work his body and jab him, jab him, jab him. The first round, then the second round, you know, I could have, you know, took him out. But I come in the first round too strong, too much testosterone, too much power. Too Speaker 2 (6:30) much gusto. Speaker 1 (6:30) Yeah, and I got myself a little tired. So when the time of the break come, I was... I was breathing right and stuff, and I forgot to breathe. I never thought she looked tired. Speaker 2 (6:44) I thought she moved pretty well the whole time. I Speaker 1 (6:45) was Speaker 3 (6:45) going to say, you had more technique than most people thought. Speaker 1 (6:50) Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was like, I did that already. You get to see it. Speaker 1 (6:57) Friends of the show, Crystal is here as well. I got a little tired, but by the second round, I got my mind right. And my coach said, I remember what the plan was. So you had to do what your corner man says. So I didn't do what he said at all. He said, you know, you're off track. So by second round. I was going to slow down, work him a little bit, and go around. You're supposed to go around in a circle, back and forth, and work him until you get that right punch. I was going to knock him out. But them Daburn gloves is too heavy. They're too big. They need lighter gloves, UFC gloves. But that's something I need to get used to. I didn't know them gloves would be that heavy. That's Speaker 2 (7:47) what Speaker 1 (7:47) all Speaker 2 (7:47) the fighters have said. They got tired of holding them. Speaker 1 (7:50) They're Speaker 2 (7:50) way too Speaker 1 (7:51) heavy. I'll tell you Speaker 3 (7:52) the best advice, and this is going to be the stupidest thing you ever heard, but if you're going to train for redneck brawl, you need to be practicing. holding two deer park waters. They're 16.9 ounces, and that's what them gloves are. Well, actually, they're a little more than the gloves, so you don't get arm fatigue because Speaker 1 (8:07) it's like Speaker 2 (8:07) painting a ceiling, man. You'll get it out. Speaker 1 (8:09) It's exhausting. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You forget to Speaker 2 (8:14) breathe. You Speaker 1 (8:14) forget to breathe and it takes you back. But if my leg wasn't broke. Speaker 1 (8:23) You think you had him on points? He would have been getting this, there ain't no doubt, because I come down and I know what I was going to do from then on out. I was going to work his body, then I was going to do uppercuts, bam, bam, bam, and then back up a little bit and just get him tired. Speaker 1 (8:41) He couldn't hit me. He couldn't hit me. He wasn't fast enough to hit me. I thought it was an ankle Speaker 3 (8:47) roll when you backed up initially. I mean, I was off the corner. Speaker 1 (8:51) Yeah, he swung at me and I backed. When you stepped, I Speaker 3 (8:54) seen. Speaker 1 (8:55) And I don't know if it was Speaker 3 (8:57) the snap that I heard or what, but it was the snap heard around the world. Did you hear a snap? Speaker 1 (9:01) Yeah, it popped. And then I went straight down. Because Speaker 3 (9:06) I was watching right as it happened. Speaker 1 (9:07) And when I went down, he said, I knowed you was a pussy. After I went down. And when he swung at me, that's when I, you know, because he couldn't hit me because I knowed and I was going to come back in. And that's when I went back, and when I went back, all my power went on my legs because that's where your power comes through the swing. So I put it out on this leg, it was coming in, and that's when it popped back. Now, Speaker 3 (9:37) you also were not just fighting a random opponent. You were fighting somebody that you had, like, personal Speaker 1 (9:42) vendetta with. No, not even really that. 20 years ago. Speaker 1 (9:51) I got locked up for five years. Crystal met this fella and had two kids with him. So I got out of jail. When I got out of jail, she left him and got back with me. And I raised the daughter. The daughter was five years old. I raised her. Ever since, and he had the son and all that stuff. Speaker 3 (10:26) You know what I hate more than anything, Barrett? Speaker 1 (10:28) What's that, Tara? Speaker 3 (10:29) The sun. I Speaker 2 (10:30) hate the sun. Speaker 3 (10:31) I hate the sun. Speaker 2 (10:32) Can I say that? Yeah. What are you going to do about it, though? Speaker 3 (10:35) Well, I can put on sunscreen for my body. I can try to tan if I want to. But for my eyes, I really need something that's going to work. And that's why I've got these on right now. Do you know what these are? Speaker 2 (10:46) What are those? Speaker 3 (10:47) Premium polarized sunglasses from Fatties. Speaker 2 (10:50) Fatties on your face? Speaker 3 (10:51) Fatties on your face. I'm telling you right now. Best sunglasses you'll ever invest in. Not only are they stylish, but... I've got to say, they work pretty dang good.
