Speaker 1 (0:11) The following podcast is a Dear Media production. What are you doing? Speaker 2 (0:24) Sorry, I'm pretty not smart. Welcome back to another episode of Pretty Not Smart with your host, Louis, a.k.a. the baddest perra. And Speaker 3 (0:38) Yoatsi. And our special guest, Nina. Speaker 1 (0:48) Okay, well first of Speaker 3 (0:50) all this place is freaking beautiful Speaker 1 (0:51) it is so nice I already said this on my stream already, but Actually, I mean I was I was happy with what we got out there. Oh, I was out there a little living room and I was happy and then I came in here and I was like what in the hell that Speaker 2 (1:04) honestly when we get to show people like our Studio and we get like a cute reaction. It means a lot because we definitely tried to upgrade it Yeah, Speaker 1 (1:12) have you seen that as will bottle get out of here like yeah in the frame But Speaker 2 (1:17) does old And to be honest, Speaker 1 (1:23) I don't like purple Or pink. She was sick. Wait, okay, why? Why? Speaker 2 (1:27) Did Speaker 1 (1:27) they just irk you or what? No, because I'm like traumatized by Barbie dolls. And I hate that. Like the combo. No, they're just always on every packaging. Yeah, like that color combo. It's Speaker 3 (1:37) always purple and Speaker 1 (1:37) pink. Oh, you're so Speaker 3 (1:38) right. And I'm Speaker 1 (1:39) sick of it. I'm just sick of it. But this was actually very good. Like, I came in here and I was like, I like this. Yay! She's Speaker 3 (1:45) like, Speaker 1 (1:45) but I hate it. No. No, I actually like it. Speaker 3 (1:47) It Speaker 1 (1:48) doesn't like, it's not too much. Speaker 3 (1:50) It's not like trauma for you. But it's Speaker 1 (1:51) also, you ever seen those candies? It's like, it's pink and purple. It's like Nerds, but it's not. Laffy Speaker 2 (1:58) Taffy? Speaker 1 (1:59) No, it's like in a box. It is the Nerds. The ones that are like little like crumb looking things. Nerds? Yeah, they're Nerds, right? This reminds me of that. And I do like that. Oh Speaker 3 (2:07) yeah. Speaker 1 (2:07) I'm not a big fan of Barbie, but I do like me some candy. Yes. Speaker 3 (2:10) Some Nerds. Speaker 1 (2:11) Well, I was a little Speaker 2 (2:12) pissed when we got this. I imagine. It's just because I feel like the majority of it is pink. Speaker 3 (2:17) Is it? Do you think there's more pink than purple in here? Speaker 2 (2:19) I'm not gonna Speaker 1 (2:19) lie, but the purple's strong, though. Yeah, and that's why we counterbalanced it, because the purple's really strong. If it was all purple, or like 60 % purple, it just makes the room darker. Speaker 2 (2:30) Yeah, because there was a point where we had like half and half, and I definitely feel like my side was really dark. Speaker 1 (2:35) So now we only Speaker 2 (2:35) have this one. It's purple. Speaker 1 (2:37) But the purple that is here is very strong. Exactly. That'd be right. He's like, okay. Speaker 2 (2:43) There's little purple bits everywhere. Speaker 3 (2:44) He's like, I'm going Speaker 2 (2:44) to rip that. I'm going to rip it. Girl, I was going to start painting the walls purple. No. I feel like Speaker 3 (2:50) it's really well evened out. That's true. I Speaker 2 (2:53) like it. Well, back to you. I'm really, really happy that you're on our podcast because I feel like this friendship of yours and Yoatsi's started like not too long ago. And I told her. I was like, oh my God, wait, I love her content because she's so funny. So to see you guys together to me, I literally asked her, I was like, wait, how did this happen? Yeah. And then she was like, I want to ask her to be on the podcast. But I was like, well, you just met her. So what if she's like, girl, I'm over it. No, no. Well, Yoati asked Nina to be on our podcast. She said yes. And she was out of LA for like maybe a week or two. And then she was like, I'm back. I'm ready. And I was like, wait, actually? Speaker 1 (3:30) Yeah. Speaker 2 (3:30) And Louis was in Rome. You suck in Rome. Speaker 1 (3:32) I was. Speaker 2 (3:33) Yeah, OK. I came back for you, Aaron. The Speaker 1 (3:36) pizza's too good. The pizza's too Speaker 2 (3:38) juicy. Well, I cut it short to be here. Speaker 1 (3:42) Yeah. No, I was really Speaker 2 (3:45) excited that you were going to come on the podcast and to get to know you a little bit more and have our viewers get to know a little bit more about Mina. Speaker 1 (3:52) Yes. Because you've been on social Speaker 2 (3:54) media aside from streaming for like a cute minute too, right? Speaker 1 (3:57) Yeah, I was actually. I started on TikTok, Speaker 2 (4:00) and Speaker 1 (4:01) then I started getting viral for little clips here and there. I just be doing whatever comes to my mind, to be honest. It's like, why? Why not? I always think, why not? When I do anything, it's, why not? You Speaker 2 (4:11) have that personality that you can really take over anything that you want to do. You're just so Speaker 3 (4:17) adventurous. Thank you. Speaker 2 (4:19) I try. Speaker 1 (4:20) I try. I Speaker 2 (4:21) do want to bring up a little... Summary that our producer put together. So let us know if this is accurate. Speaker 3 (4:28) Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So that we Speaker 2 (4:29) can give you guys a little introduction to Nina. Oh. Let's Speaker 3 (4:33) see. Speaker 2 (4:34) So Nina is a variety content creator on TikTok who is known for sharing lip sync, lifestyle, comedy, beauty, and fan response videos on her N.Nina666 account. Speaker 3 (4:45) She Speaker 2 (4:46) has more than 4.4 million followers on the platform. Wow. And she also has. Speaker 1 (4:52) For our other producer. No, Speaker 2 (4:55) this is for Ferns here right now, y'all. But Crystal's the one who fully went in and was like, let me put this together. She also put, Nina has a YouTube channel where she has uploaded a video of her sneaking into the Met Gala in 2021. Yeah, there's only one video. Speaker 3 (5:11) I Speaker 2 (5:11) remember seeing that because it was. It was going on TikTok too. Yes. Wasn't it like a, okay, no, you know what? I'd rather hear it from you. I need to know like the lore behind that video. Speaker 1 (5:21) Okay, Speaker 2 (5:21) well, Speaker 1 (5:21) this was like maybe four years ago. So was it 2021? Speaker 2 (5:25) Yeah. Speaker 1 (5:26) Yeah, that was 2021. Speaker 1 (5:29) I'll be honest, I only did it not because I liked celebrities. I could give a fuck about celebrities. Because I feel like I see you enough on my phone, I don't Speaker 3 (5:35) have Speaker 1 (5:35) to see you in person. It's great to see you in person. It's like, great, but you know you're low-key irritated at me, and I don't know you that well, and you're so human. It's Speaker 2 (5:43) just Speaker 1 (5:43) a lot. It's a lot. But I was just, honestly... So I grew up in New York and Met Gala happens every single Speaker 3 (5:51) year. Speaker 1 (5:52) And the whole city is filled with celebrities. New York Fashion Week, then it's May, then it's this, then it's that, then there's a party down the block at Oak One and everyone's there and everyone's welcoming our BBLs and this and that. Oh my God. And all types of shit. There's nothing I haven't seen yet. I grew up around that. I'll literally go to fucking 7-Eleven and come back with like $4 of my band count and see fucking Nas in the corner getting a pizza and Rihanna in the corner. That's insane. That's really Speaker 3 (6:19) how New York is? It is. It is like that. I Speaker 1 (6:21) feel like that's Speaker 3 (6:21) literally Speaker 2 (6:21) how it is. Well, I only go visit, but from being outside in, that's all I hear about how it is. You just see people very casually. Speaker 1 (6:29) Yeah, I stalked Nicki for maybe 10 minutes max. What? I jumped on the back of her car. She looked at me and she was like, get the fuck off. And I was like, I love you. She was like, the back of her freaking window in the back of the car. I'm like, love you. And she's like. She goes in reverse. Get off, get off. And her security tries to grab me, and the whole time my phone dies, and I ask someone else for a phone. It was crazy. I grew up doing all that shit. Then me and my dad get into a fist fight because I come home at 2 a.m. because I was trying to track after Nicki Minaj, and he throws cement at me, and I throw a wooden board at him. What the heck? It's crazy. But how do you explain to your Chinese dad that doesn't speak English, big booty Nicki Minaj is here in New York? You're like, how did I find this into it? Literally, I said that in Chinese, and he looked at me even more crazy. Like, Big Booty Nicki Minaj. Who is Big Booty Nicki Minaj? You know what I'm saying? How would Speaker 3 (7:18) you say that? Speaker 1 (7:19) Ta-peek-a-nicky Minaj. And he was like... Speaker 3 (7:23) Like Speaker 1 (7:23) what? What? And he like threw a board at me after that. I was like, all right, fuck me. He's like, Nina, stop it. Yeah. So, I mean, that's just like a little bit of what happened growing up, right? So, it's just so many celebrities at all times. People are doing charity. People are doing this. People are doing that. Jeremy Lin used to go to my school for like no real reason, just play basketball with us as like charity cases. It's like, it's crazy. Like, they used to come to my events and my school events and used to be like handing out water bottles because... The kid's be broke and he's like, oh my Speaker 3 (7:53) God, I'm gonna go to heaven if I do this. Speaker 2 (7:54) I'm joking, Jeremy Lin, we love you. Speaker 3 (7:56) But Speaker 1 (7:56) you see, it's New York. It's frickin' New York. We'll see everyone. Speaker 2 (8:01) I feel like from how I see New York, I feel like most celebrities... tend to live out here. Speaker 1 (8:07) So Speaker 2 (8:08) when they go to New York, it gives like the glorified, like everything's on the go. That's where the events are at, where the big things happen. Like that's how I see New York where everyone goes out there. To show up? Yes. It's like to show up. Like it's because New York too, like being like in the streets, it just gives you like this whole different like, whoa, I'm in New York. I don't know. Speaker 3 (8:26) I haven't Speaker 2 (8:26) been in Speaker 1 (8:27) years. Well, it's the hustle bustle vibe. Yeah. Like I feel like, and this is no dig at LA. It just is so calm. Speaker 2 (8:35) in Speaker 1 (8:35) my opinion. Compared to New York. Yes. That when you go out, it's a big deal. Speaker 2 (8:39) Yeah. And it's Speaker 1 (8:40) just, you almost overthink the little things. Like even going to Erewhon, grabbing something, you start putting on makeup for five hours. Versus in New York, you know everybody don't give no fucks about you for real. Either they love you or they give no fucks about who you are. Speaker 3 (8:52) Damn. Everyone's just kind of like in their own lane. Because people are trying to Speaker 1 (8:55) fucking pay their bills. They're not going to stop because you're Rihanna. Right. They might be like, what's up, it's Rihanna, but then, bitch shit, my boss is here. See geek like fuck Speaker 1 (11:46) that. Yeah, there's people in LA They will miss the bus. Speaker 3 (11:48) They Speaker 1 (11:49) will miss the bus after that. They're just on their outside and just like can I sniff your pits like People here cherish the floors that celebrities walk on yeah, but in New York, we love celebrities don't get us wrong. Yeah, but it's like Okay. Casual. Bitch, I got shit to do. Right. Speaker 3 (12:08) Like, Speaker 1 (12:08) oh, cool. Speaker 3 (12:09) Okay, bye. Speaker 1 (12:09) Bye. Like, we won't bother you that long. So what it is, is I think, in a way, I don't think it's like to show out. I think it's just like, I'm here. It's almost like the effect of when a guy likes you less, you like them more. When people chase you less, you almost chase it more. So when you're out here, it's just so easy. But then when you're famous and you go out to New York, it's like people are kind of like, oh, I fuck with you. But like, some people don't. So you're almost like seeing like whether or not they fuck with you like that. Speaker 2 (12:35) Yeah, yeah, yeah. Speaker 1 (12:36) It's like a testing waters thing. That's Speaker 2 (12:37) so Speaker 3 (12:37) interesting. In my Speaker 1 (12:38) opinion. I dead ass think is what it is. Speaker 3 (12:40) That's really cool. Speaker 2 (12:41) And also just like also like the fashion. I mean, well, they do have like New York Fashion Week. Right, right. Oh, well, they have one here in LA. But girl, you never hear about that shit. Like it's New York Fashion Week that you hear of. And I bring it up because I went for the first, well, not the first time, the second time last year. And I definitely felt that like everything was so fast paced. People are like minding their own business. No one's like in your bubble trying to like, everyone's just like in their own world. tunnel vision to where they gotta go what they gotta do and also just like being there I almost felt so little if that Speaker 3 (13:13) makes sense Speaker 2 (13:14) not that because people are rude or anything but it's just like I felt like now what I don't know how to explain it I definitely felt it's Speaker 1 (13:22) um how do I I know exactly what you're talking about. Like people Speaker 2 (13:24) weren't in my business. Yes, but that's why I love it. I Speaker 3 (13:27) guess it's like what I was saying, how everybody's literally on their own lane, focused on just what they're doing and gives no fucks about anything else. Speaker 1 (13:33) So you get less pressure about being you. Speaker 3 (13:35) Yeah. You just say, Speaker 1 (13:36) fuck it, I be me. Because out here, it's almost like you walk out there like this. Speaker 2 (13:41) Yeah, or even if you film in public, I feel like you get a lot of people like, what are they doing? Speaker 1 (13:45) Who's that? You know that? And they start searching up, Asian girl with red hair. Is she famous? They're not even your fans, but they just want to be like, is she famous or not? It's just like, ugh. I'm sorry, but it's just how I feel. In New York, if somebody knows me, they're like, yo, what's up? Oh, you that garbage bitch. I was about to ask you about that. Speaker 3 (14:05) Your viral garbage video in New York. That shit is so crazy. Did anybody see you doing that? Catch me up. Speaker 1 (14:14) Oh, yeah, go ahead. So there's this video. Is it recent? Speaker 3 (14:18) It's like when she was going viral, right? This Speaker 1 (14:20) is before McGowan. Speaker 2 (14:22) Because I was going to say, you've had like a million viral moments, too. What do you mean before she went viral? That might Speaker 1 (14:26) have been my first. This was the first? No, no, actually, that might have been like my fifth viral Speaker 2 (14:31) video. I'm telling you, it's going to be like a million times. But this Speaker 1 (14:33) one was like, I feel like one of the top tier. Yeah, it was Speaker 2 (14:37) one of the. Okay, then I probably know which one it is. She Speaker 3 (14:39) literally hopped on a garbage truck. And what is the first thing you say? You're like, you know. I Speaker 1 (14:45) was like, you know, it's late when you see Garbage Trucks out in New York. Because it's true. Like, Garbage Trucks only come out after 2 a.m. Oh. And they run from 2 to 4. I probably should not even fucking know this, but I know. You know their schedule? I know the exact route to. Damn. To every single avenue. Like, I know what time, which avenue. They kind of go like this, this, this, this. So it kind of goes. Anyways, I'm not going to get into it. So I was just walking. And this is a reason to it. I'm not just doing this for Speaker 3 (15:09) no Speaker 1 (15:10) reason. I Speaker 3 (15:10) swear to God. I swear to God. Speaker 1 (15:12) So it was during COVID. There's no Ubers. There was no buses. The public train station closed at 12. It was 2 a.m. I had two bags of groceries, hella fucking groceries on me. I'm talking steak, banana, seasonings, sardines. I had fish, bitch. Like I had, I had fucking shrimp in my bag. Restock, Speaker 2 (15:31) a Speaker 1 (15:31) huge Speaker 2 (15:32) restock. Yeah, because Speaker 1 (15:33) that was also the time when I was learning how to cook, teach myself how to cook. So I was just getting everything and anything, you know? Speaker 2 (15:38) Yeah. Speaker 1 (15:38) And. I was like, how the fuck do I get back home? Because I got to shit so bad. Because there's no way I could walk down. Mind you, it's the middle of winter. I have my can of goose on. I look like one of those ice men that be having those furry ass coats with 5,000 luggages on them. Like Ice Age. Oh, like working in the... Speaker 2 (15:55) I know what you're talking about. I Speaker 1 (15:56) look like one of those people. Like a bigger jacket. I had a can of goose hair, like big fur. I was just like, yo, it's cold as fuck. My toes are blue. Like, fuck this. Right? And I got some holes in my shoes because bitch would not let go of her shoes for no reason. I'm just a cheap bitch. It's not even about money. It's just like, you get rich, but the poor always stays in your head. In your head. I was just like, fuck, how do I get back down? I live downtown. We were in Midtown. This is like near Times Square. Oh, Speaker 2 (16:25) okay, okay, okay. Times Square. Speaker 1 (16:26) And there's 45 streets, maybe in total 65 streets to get back to where I was at. Damn. But I love walking. So I would walk that if I had three hours, but I had to shit. Right. Speaker 3 (16:37) And you had a bunch of groceries. Speaker 1 (16:39) That's not even the problem. Just I had to shit. And I was like, fuck, like, we can't get the steps in today. We got to shit. And I shit before I was outside, so I was like not trying to do it again. Oh, my Speaker 2 (16:49) gosh. In the dumpster. Speaker 1 (16:51) In the snow. In front of a restaurant. But anyways. So I was like, fuck, I got to go home. I see it like a garbage truck, but garbage trucks go so fast in New York. They stop, pick up garbage, and they zoom to the next one. What Speaker 2 (17:05) the Speaker 1 (17:05) heck? Because. They low-key don't be following traffic laws. They don't give a fuck. Who's going to find them? The government? They are the government. Bitch, what? Where do you find your own people? Like, okay. I'm doing my job. Speaker 3 (17:15) Yeah, they just want to get it done, huh? Yes, Speaker 1 (17:17) and the city just wants the garbage out. They don't care. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So who the fuck is going to write a ticket to the garbage truck? It makes no sense. Anyways, I was thinking, if it's going so fast down, Speaker 3 (17:26) all Speaker 1 (17:27) I got to do is hold on. And how would they know? Shut the fuck up. Like, how would they know? No way, Speaker 2 (17:33) Nina. Yeah, because Speaker 1 (17:33) it's so huge. Speaker 2 (17:34) Like, you did not just fucking hop. Oh, no, Speaker 1 (17:37) I did. Speaker 2 (17:37) She literally Speaker 1 (17:38) hopped on it. Like, you were holding on the stairs? Yeah, like the side? You're like this. Speaker 2 (17:42) I need to see the Speaker 1 (17:42) - Speaker 2 (17:42) Wait, wait, can we get Speaker 3 (17:43) - Speaker 2 (17:43) Please put this on the screen. Speaker 3 (17:45) We want to get your reaction. Go. It's on the notes. Speaker 2 (17:48) Okay, wait. Keep spilling on how- Please. I Speaker 1 (17:50) want to see Louis' Speaker 3 (17:52) reaction. Speaker 2 (17:52) Oh, Speaker 3 (17:53) I Speaker 2 (17:53) hate hearing my own video. I love Speaker 3 (17:55) that video. Speaker 2 (17:57) Or like, if you want, I'll lower the volume. I just need to see you. Yeah, Speaker 1 (18:00) you Speaker 2 (18:00) just listen to it. Speaker 3 (18:01) You don't like listening to yourself? No. I want to see Louis' reaction. Speaker 1 (18:05) It's Speaker 2 (18:06) because it wasn't loading for me. Like, I Speaker 1 (18:07) got the balls to do it, but I can't hear it. Like, I can't even watch it. I Speaker 2 (18:11) don't even watch my own videos. I'm like, ugh. Wait, how long ago was this then? This is Speaker 1 (18:14) pinned, actually. Yeah, it's pinned on her profile. It's Speaker 2 (18:17) part of one of the Speaker 1 (18:17) pinned videos, yeah. This was like four or five years ago? Let me pull it up. Am Speaker 2 (18:22) I Speaker 1 (18:22) just fucking Speaker 2 (18:22) dumb that I didn't? I know I have to have seen this then. Speaker 3 (18:26) Nina Lynn. I Speaker 2 (18:28) know I had to have seen this. It's right here. Speaker 3 (18:30) Shut Speaker 2 (18:30) the Speaker 1 (18:31) hell up. You know it's time to go home when all you see is garbage trucks. Sis. Uh-uh. What's up, bitch? What's good? What's good? What are you riding? Speaker 3 (18:54) You're watching it? You're Speaker 1 (18:55) fully just vibing. I'm just vibing on Speaker 2 (18:57) the back Speaker 1 (18:57) of Speaker 2 (18:57) that. Going Speaker 1 (18:57) fast as fuck too. Bro, he was swerving. He was swerving. So he had no Speaker 3 (19:02) idea you were on there? He had no idea. Never found Speaker 1 (19:04) out. Speaker 2 (19:04) Why did Speaker 1 (19:04) he think he was swerving? Why else he would not be swerving? I never found out Speaker 2 (19:07) that you were on there. Bitch, and you're Speaker 3 (19:09) having the time of your life. I Speaker 1 (19:10) was going to Speaker 3 (19:10) say, you Speaker 2 (19:10) look happy as fuck too. I was so happy. I Speaker 1 (19:12) was like, yo, low-key, this is a method. Like, fuck this. Okay, Speaker 3 (19:16) I want to go to New York and I want Nina to show me how to write a garbage track. Oh, I got Speaker 1 (19:20) banned. I got banned off of those. Fuck. Speaker 3 (19:22) After that video got Speaker 1 (19:23) hella viral, I think once it hit like 20 million. And like, it was on Worldstar. It was on everything. Sanitation, like New York City Sanitation sent me like an email. I don't know how they found my email. Speaker 3 (19:33) You're lying. Speaker 1 (19:34) But they were Speaker 3 (19:34) like, Speaker 1 (19:35) you are never allowed to touch one of our trucks again. And I was like, damn, but how would you know? So I did two more videos. Who cares, bitch? Allegedly. Allegedly, allegedly. No, Speaker 2 (19:45) I'll Speaker 1 (19:45) let you go to my TikTok right now. Fuck you. Speaker 3 (19:47) It's Speaker 2 (19:47) right there. I'm so shocked that I didn't see this because I remember like. Even right after was your Met Gala and I remember seeing all of that like all over my table Yeah, that's Speaker 3 (19:58) so Speaker 2 (19:58) you actually Speaker 3 (20:01) like for realsies you actually snuck into yeah, no, there's Speaker 2 (20:04) literally Look you have it right Speaker 1 (20:06) or what do you Speaker 2 (20:07) mean? Speaker 1 (20:07) That's me walking in my gala cuz I was like it would be hilarious if I act like I was supposed to be there Yeah, this is I did that. Yeah, but everyone Speaker 2 (20:12) knew I wasn't there. So they were like, what the fuck are you doing? Oh my gosh Wait, so was it two separate time knows the one Speaker 1 (20:18) time one time. Yeah I went, I'll tell you what happened the next year after that. But, so basically, we're going to go all the way back to the beginning. Yes. I was just like, it wasn't even because of TikTok. I just wanted to do it because, like, growing up there in school, every single time, it was the first Monday of May, they do the, you know, the Megala. And the whole city would just be in a frenzy. Like, you see black trucks everywhere. Yeah. And kids are just like, what's Speaker 3 (20:43) that? Speaker 1 (20:44) What's Speaker 3 (20:44) that? I don't care. Let me go get it. Bye-bye. And they strip away. They don't Speaker 2 (20:47) give Speaker 3 (20:47) a fuck. They're Speaker 1 (20:48) like, you know what I mean? So it was so normal to us. That's why I wasn't really geeked at the fact that there were celebrities. I was just more geek-like. is the security good? How can I get in there? Speaker 3 (20:59) Can I do it? How do I, like, is the security top notch for Speaker 1 (21:03) real? Y'all like fucking around. So I was like, I decided, I took it upon myself and I was like, honestly, if there's anyone that would test security, it would be me. So, I mean, I remember it was COVID and I was like, even better, they can't see half my face. So Speaker 2 (21:14) I Speaker 1 (21:14) put on a face mask and I have a thing where I can't, sometimes I can't hold my face, like expression. So I'm like, okay, honestly, the face mask, if Speaker 2 (21:22) I Speaker 1 (21:22) need to laugh, I'll be like. Speaker 1 (21:24) But how would they know? Right. Speaker 3 (21:26) How would they know? You look dead serious in the eyes. Speaker 1 (21:31) All I need is a pair of good lashes and I'm calling it a day. And a fake. So basically, I went to Banana Republic. I bought a suit. Kept all the tags. Tucked it in. Because I returned that shit right after. That shit was $200. Bitch got me fucked up. Oh, absolutely not. Got a suit. Then I went around Chinatown and looked for a lanyard. I found this lady, this Asian lady, hella hunchback. And she was like, that's how you know the price is going to be good when they hella hunchback. Trust me. And she was like, how much for a lanyard? Because, you know, Staples is like Speaker 2 (21:58) $15. Right, right. Who the Speaker 1 (22:00) fuck? No. So I was like, girl, it was a 99 cent store. I said, how much? She was like, $4. I said, lady. Speaker 3 (22:06) A dollar. Speaker 1 (22:07) Stop playing with me. She's like, $2 for you. Okay, fine. And I was like, okay. Speaker 3 (22:12) So I did Speaker 1 (22:12) $2. And all I did, no bullshit, I clipped my real ID to that thing. Real bullshit. Because that's what real reporters do. They actually put their real fucking ID on that shit. Yeah, Speaker 2 (22:21) I never realized Speaker 1 (22:22) that. Because it's just a little picture. I went on Google and I was like, reporter outfit, outfit reporter. Getty Images got what they wear. Like shit like that. No way. And then, you know what I brought? So basically, I was looking up videos of... Literally, I only looked at one video. No bullshit. And it was a video of a Getty Images guy. I was like, what do Getty Images people wear? And they always have these camera bag sacks. Yes. Speaker 3 (22:45) Oh, right. Speaker 1 (22:45) It's always a white shirt on the inside. No tie, because they're kind of like, I'm working here. You know? It's always very chill. They don't dress to the nines. They just dress what they have to. Then a suit, some pants, nice shoes. But mainly, they would bring a little ladder, a step stool. And, yup, it's cause some motherfuckers don't got the height like that. Sorry. And they get the picture, huh? You know? And they would just have like a very basic bag, like a book bag. Speaker 3 (23:13) Like Speaker 1 (23:14) something that looked like they're just journalists that walks around. They don't Speaker 3 (23:18) give Speaker 1 (23:18) a fuck what they look like. They write articles about other people. They don't care. So I was like, okay, well I'm Speaker 3 (23:23) a Speaker 1 (23:23) female though. So I was like, okay. Sometimes I remind myself I'm a female. Because I sometimes forget. So I was like, okay, I'm a female though. So I can't go too, too, too casual. I gotta still act like a reporter that's like, oh my God, I'm at the Met. You know? Because I don't Speaker 2 (23:36) give Speaker 1 (23:36) a fuck about the Met. How do I make it seem like I'm supposed to be there and I love it there? Speaker 2 (23:40) Yes. Speaker 1 (23:41) So I was like, okay. I can't also go in too confident because I'm not a regular. So I gotta go in as a brand new intern. Speaker 3 (23:49) Girl, Speaker 1 (23:49) you did fucking research. The way Speaker 3 (23:51) that her brain thought of every single step, I'm like, I can't Speaker 1 (23:55) go in as like, oh yeah, you know me last year. Then my bitch would fuck. Who are you? But I was like, oh my God, I went to New York Times. This is my ID. Shut up. I have to change my voice. Ready? Speaker 3 (24:05) How'd you do it? Speaker 2 (24:06) Hi, guys. Speaker 1 (24:07) Oh, my God. My name is Nina. Girl, I'm like a professional. Yeah. Oh, I heard that you guys are doing Met Gala today. My company actually last minute reached out to me. I'm really excited for this opportunity. I'm actually so excited. But real talk, though. Man, what do I go in for my check-in? And what do I get my badge for? The actual ticket. Speaker 2 (24:26) Girl, Speaker 1 (24:27) you Speaker 2 (24:27) sound legit. Like professional. And I'm picturing it with the outfit, obviously. And the mask. Speaker 1 (24:33) And then, obviously, you got to fidget with your bag. And I was fidgeting with my bag. And I was like, oh, my God. I think I do. Let me just double check. I just want to make sure you have all my stuff before you even check me in. Because I know how this goes. Girl, Speaker 2 (24:45) she's experienced. Speaker 1 (24:47) You have to do the whole look around. You Speaker 3 (24:49) think of everything. Speaker 1 (24:50) Yeah. I would have choked. No, you can't choke. If you do choke, you better act like, oh, sorry, I'm a little bit sick. Because you sound, Speaker 2 (24:57) like, even just you telling us right now, like, the little script, it sounds so professional, but so nonchalant of you just like, oh, yeah, like, where do I check in? Like, it's just, it doesn't even seem like, oh, my Speaker 1 (25:07) God. Speaker 2 (25:07) It's Speaker 1 (25:07) like Speaker 2 (25:07) you're nervous, but you're nonchalant. And Speaker 1 (25:08) they, like, Speaker 2 (25:08) just, like, let you check Speaker 3 (25:09) in? Speaker 1 (25:10) Yeah. No, no, so the lady in the front was, like, really sussed out. She was like, you don't have a pass? Like, we say that to everyone. What's wrong? And I was like, you... So that, to us, it's just like, yes. It's just like, I think New York Times already went in, and I was like, no, I know, my bus was a little bit late, I'm coming from Yonkers, which is not New York, I know, I'm first year intern, so I did not end up catching up with them, they had a whole breakfast, girl, you know how this shit goes. But, real talk, where can I get it? Okay, actually, let me just call Charles. Speaker 2 (25:41) Pull up the fucking phone. Speaker 1 (25:42) No way! Hello? Are you inside? Yeah. Okay, I'm outside, can you come out? Yeah, I have the lens and I start lifting my bag and she's like, oh I have the lens and I'm sorry Give me one second. I step to the side. Speaker 2 (25:55) Yeah, and Speaker 1 (25:55) she's like waiting waiting and then thank God But this one Getty Images guy, I will never forget this white guy name I don't know your name, but you saved the goddamn fucking script because this motherfucker comes in he goes I'm getting images with his little fucking stepping stool. He's like, I'm getting images. I'm so late. The show starts in 20 minutes. I need to be there now. And she's like, sir, I don't care who you are. You need to get a pass. He goes. Like I'm a holy fuck. Hey, I don't have the past I had Speaker 3 (26:22) to Speaker 1 (26:22) get there now and she's like well I need to she's like going earpiece trying to look around and that's when I come and I'm like, yeah I don't find it you guys not end up sending some to some of the media team like oh my Speaker 3 (26:32) god I'm trying to
