Speaker 1 (0:07) What are you doing? Sorry. I'm pretty not smart. Speaker 1 (0:16) The following podcast is a Dear Media production. Welcome back to another episode of Pretty Not Smart with your host, Louis, a.k.a. The Baddest Perra. And Yoatsi. And our special guest, Marley. Hey, Marley, Marley, hey, Marley, Marley, hey, Marley, Marley, hey, Marley. Her new little intro song. I know. As soon as we saw her walk in, too, we were like, hey, man. Who came up with that? Was it you? Yeah. It was her. Hey, Marley, Marley. They said they were going to turn into a fucking cumbia. Speaker 1 (1:03) We did a whole song. Yeah. At our club hosting. Oh, what? Oh my God. Ya tiene mucho de esa pinche cancioncita. In Salt Lake City, Utah. We were at the Airbnb getting glam and go. We were streaming. We were streaming. And we were like, hey man. Or you started singing. We did like a whole cumbia remix. Yeah. We're doing a remix. And everything, the only thing that stuck was the hey man. Hey Marlene. Because it was a full production. It was. There was even background like. Yeah. It was like the sonajas in the back bitch. So if y'all want to help us make it a song. Hit us up. We can make it really good. It'll be like a trivalera cumbia remix. Tribalemty. Hit us up. And it's Marlene. A whole music video. Marlene it's been forever since you've been on. Speaker 1 (1:53) Wait, you guys missed a part of the intro. Oh. Where if you're not subscribed, you better subscribe so you can be both. You said it so good. How have you been? You get it. Just subscribe, please. Subscribe, you guys. So they can keep bringing me because if not, they're not going to bring me no more. Because if not, they're going to lose back. When was the last time that you came by yourself? Oh, by myself, it's been forever. I think season one. Yeah. Since you did your first one and then you came back with Addie. Oh, yeah. Yeah. For the ending finale. For 100 episodes. Oh, yeah. The 100 episodes. I came with Adam. But it's been a while. That's the last time you were on? That's the last time I was on. Speaker 1 (2:36) What the? It's been a minute. But thank you for coming. We love Quijote. Well, this whole fucking thing took a whole year. But it came out so pretty. It's so nice. I love it. Do you like it? It's a giving budget. It's giving Don Francisco. I'll come out in a suit. With the trumpet. He's like. That'd be a funny costume. I'll be Don Francisco. I'll be La Cuatro. Who's the fourth? The one with the jackal. And I'll be the jackal. The one with the jackals behind. We have to do that costume. It'll be sickening. Well, we were super excited to bring Marlene because we were talking about our true crime episode and we didn't know that Marlene is also a true crime junkie. I am, you guys. I found out in Vegas. Yeah, when we were just having a normal convo. No, I literally told them, I'm like, next episode. Speaker 1 (3:33) When you guys do true crime, bring me on. Because me and Yachty can't do it right. No, but it was like so fun to have somebody else. Yeah, it was like somebody else to talk about this stuff with. Because we're definitely interested in it. Maybe we just weren't as prepared last time. So now Marlene has something that she wants to share with us. And I'm really excited to have something that you and I can both react to. I feel like you might know some of these, but I'm fully coming into this. You don't watch like that? Like true crime like that? It's because I hate gory shit. And like knowing that it's like real, just it's a disconnect. Yeah. I feel like it's such a girl thing. I think so too because a lot of girls I've heard that are into it and then they watch documentaries and stuff. Do you like documentaries? I love documentaries. Me too. Which is, I shouldn't be so like. Speaker 1 (4:22) I don't know. I feel like it fucks with my mental health too. My mom and Oscar always tell me, like, you need to stop looking into that. But it's just like, I don't know. Something about it, I'm just like... Gravitates towards it? I think it's because the fact that it's real, you're just like, how can people even do things like this? More like the psychological part. Yeah. And I think for me too, it's one of those things that like really quiet my brain. Because my brain's always like... Like, it never stops. But they're so interesting that I'm so interested that my brain shuts the fuck up and I'll literally be like. I know. Like just fully sitting there. Like just listening to like the details of the facts. Yeah, and I'm just like, what the fuck? It's crazy. Yeah, and it's so weird that it's never came up in topic. Like we didn't know that you were into it. Speaker 1 (5:07) So when she told us, she's like, I really want to do a crew. My crew crime, true crime. We were like, oh, my God. Yeah. Because now we can bring it up. And I know you guys really enjoy it. The last one was a little, a little roller coaster. And I tried my best. I can't really help you with those because I don't know anything like fully. Most of the time, I'm just reacting to it. So we're excited to bring another one up. To you guys. I'm just excited that Marlene, like me and Marlene could chat. You bye. Cause Louis, usually I'll tell him and he's just like, whoa, I'm a more of a, an image kind of sewer. So as she's telling me, it looks like I space out, but because I like to picture things in my brain. Speaker 1 (5:50) And maybe you guys don't picture it as much because you probably already know it So you're just speaking it out of like this is what I know But for me, I'm like drawing it in my head as if it was a movie so I'm like I think it's pretty cool when you tell someone that doesn't know because they're like why there's like it just You think it's the stories going somewhere and then it completely goes like sideways and you're like what? That's what's happened with a lot of ones you tell me I'm like Speaker 1 (6:12) Yeah. It's like the most devastating shit. But before we continue, we are going to go straight into our little segment where we read y'all's pretty not smart. I want to read it. I want to read it. I have one. I have one that is so fucking funny. It was make me crack the fuck up. I feel like I had one that happened to me recently and I don't remember. So if I remember, I'll bring it up. I have a lot of them, but I don't remember them. This one's a really short one that I just want to read. Speaker 1 (6:40) One of y'all said, for a long time, I thought moths were just really old butterflies. I could see that. I know I could. Like they're all wrinkly. Like me, dad saw really old butterflies. Like all brown. Did you guys, have you noticed that when you catch one, they throw like a dust? And I remember, allegedly, growing up, my mom would be like, no, that's supposed to be the little powder that makes you blind. Can somebody confirm where this myth came from? Like, no wonder I'm Ciega. But let me read the actual one. Oh, I thought that one was... I know. No, I said that one was a tiny little short one. This one. When I was a hostess at a restaurant, I was packing this couple's to-go order, and already the girlfriend was mean-mugging me, and it was making me nervous. I wanted to ask them, do you want me to put the receipt in the bag? But instead, my fucking dumb social anxiety... Speaker 1 (7:37) but instead my fucking dumb social anxiety said do you want me to the boyfriend my mind stopped mid-sentence and so did my life anyways i love you guys Speaker 1 (7:51) She probably got hella in her head. And it's like, oh my god, I hope. Because I feel like that's happened to me where I'm like, I better not say this. And then you just say it. And she was like, do you want me? Quiero una mesa. No, literally. Quiero una mesa. Have you told them that story? Yeah. Yeah, we have, huh? Papi, quiero una mesa. That's funny. Like, quiero una mesa, corn. Dude, that's crazy. I wonder what the girlfriend did. Speaker 1 (8:22) I just want to be like, what the fuck, bitch? You fully would have been like, oh, yeah. I literally would have been like, the fuck? I would have been like, girl, I'm over it. What would you have said if someone didn't trust you? Like, keep him out. I don't want him over it. I probably just would have waited for his reaction to see how he handled it. That was a true test, babes, how the guy handles it. You like painted the girl. Have you seen that TikTok trend? No. Where they like go up to the waitress and they're like, oh, just come up to my boyfriend and hug him out of nowhere and be like, hi, haven't seen you in forever. Yes, I have seen that. Just to see his reaction. I'm going to do that for stream. Just to see if they like panic. Yeah. Alex would fully like be like, it was the mommy. I imagine. There was a guy that almost cried. He was just like. Speaker 1 (9:13) Like he was like, fuck, my wife's going to leave me. I think I know what you're talking about. Dumb. That aside, how do you feel, Marlene? Because I feel like right now even looking at you, I'm like, I feel like you haven't been on social media for a minute. I haven't. So do you feel weird? Like right now I'm like excited that you're here because it was so like last minute where we wanted to do this and then we're like. Fuck it, let's just ask Marlene. And Marlene was like, I'm on Zoom. They were like, let's go look at what she's doing. And then I checked her location. She's like, Oscars. No, yeah, I've been like MI8 a little bit. You have been. Like, no Twitch. No Twitch. I was just saying stream and Twitch. No Twitch, no stream, no YouTube. Where's the Coachella vlog? Oh my God. Well, tell them what happened. Story time. The Coachella vlog, I was supposed to post that. Speaker 1 (10:03) Like, it was for sure going to go up because I was, like, already halfway done with it. And then I realized that day three, I filmed everything slow motion. Remember? I had, like, I was texting, like, Fern and Louie. And I was like, what do I do? If I don't have day three, I feel like day three was my best day. Like, it was Karol G. I was wearing a wig. I looked hella good. And I'm like, yeah, no, I'm going to post it. No way. So you were. Oh, so that's why you didn't post it. And I think you tried fixing it, but it didn't work. I tried fixing it, it didn't work. Like, no audio. No, it didn't have audio. So even if I did fix the slow-mo, but there was no audio, so you couldn't hear anything. Imagine she posted with just little music. I know. And we're like... Speaker 1 (10:46) I know but I don't know I've just been in a little funk and I actually oh my bad I actually on stream on your stream on your 12-hour stream I had like a little vulnerable moment because I was like talking about how like I've been really in my head yeah and I overthink everything and then I just end up not doing anything but Do you feel like it's not worth, like, do you sit down and you're like, ah, do people want to care for that? Or you're just like, get overwhelmed about doing it? I think I get overwhelmed. Oh. And then I'm like, how do I start? And then I don't even start. Speaker 1 (11:19) It's weird. It's so weird. I can see that how you just have so much on your mind and you're like, okay, I'm going to film a YouTube video. I want to do a TikTok, but I also want to stream and I want to do this. And then at the end, that's what it is. I think that's. Yeah. At the end, you're just like, I'm over it. I'm over it. It's like 5 p.m. already. You were at Coachella. Yeah. You're doing TikToks and then you're doing your camera and then you were doing your stream. Oh, I don't know where you were coming from with that, but you feel like you're thinking about everything. Speaker 1 (11:46) yeah you're just like and i think then it's also like the editing because i have like a bunch of content bunched up like i have i i'm good at filming myself but when it comes to like just putting everything together i'm like now what that's kind of what happened to you when you went to um japan yeah because she posted like 50 tiktoks i don't think they know this though no you guys i posted japan once i was back yeah Speaker 1 (12:13) Fully. Like I went, did my thing, didn't post those two weeks that I was out there. Not even stories. Not even stories. And once I was back, I'm like, okay, I need to post because I was like, I have so much content. And I posted. I posted to edit. And it made it seem like you were in Japan. And it made it seem like I was over there. Like people were like, girl, you're still over there. Like it felt like a whole month. No, it was funny because she was already back and posting as if she was in Japan, but you were already in Mexico. oh yeah and i was like yeah i was like you sent me my location you were like girl you're in mexico girl she's been traveling she was still posting like japan and then when i travel i feel like i flourish more i don't know like i feel like it just since i'm doing more i'm like okay let me do this let me do this let me do that then travel more babe why don't you Speaker 1 (13:05) think about hiring an editor yeah that way because look what you just said right now like you have fun filming and being in the content because you're good at that i feel like yeah when you're filming it just feels so like on the go and but you're probably just like get discouraged to film more knowing that you added i still have so much yeah yeah you're just like hire someone to help you that is true that way you can just like film yourself and just forget about it that is true you ever have your brother be like that is he did help me in the beginning but now he's working so like oh it's very hard for him now yeah because it's a lot with with how many platforms like we have to keep up we have to keep up with all the platforms you guys it's a lot not that we have to but i feel like we want yeah we do no because there's a lot of content creators who fully like Speaker 1 (13:54) focus on one and kind of forget yes i don't do youtube some a lot of people don't do youtube yeah a lot of people like you because you still want to do youtube but a lot of streamers don't yeah a lot of people don't do youtube they're not like let me sit down and film like a youtuber they're just like dang that's actually what my nail girl was telling me that she doesn't really use youtube like that anymore and she doesn't really hear people doing youtube like that anymore or even like even like for tiktok and stuff like this is why i feel like i get all over i genuinely feel like all of my platforms have a different audience. Some of my audience like overlaps, like maybe some of y'all listening, pretty not smart, probably heavily on YouTube or maybe not. Speaker 1 (14:30) But I do feel like my audience is different on everything, which is why I like to post on everything. Like, I don't have to. I could fully be like, I know. But my Snapchat viewers are so different from, like, my Instagram story viewers. And then my Instagram post viewers are sometimes very different from, like, TikTok viewers. Like, it's so different. It's a different audience. If you consume all of it, thank you so much. And I really appreciate it. But that's why I feel like I like to post on everything because it's so different. Pero then it gets to the point where you're like. Speaker 1 (14:59) What I post here, what I do this one, what I do with that one. So I could see why it could be a little overwhelming. Yeah, but definitely an editor. And then stop overthinking. I think my main problem is me overthinking. Honestly, because I could edit too, you know? But it's just like my head and my mind. I feel like it's just me getting into my head a lot. It just seems like so much work for you to start editing. Not even that too. Also like... oh is it good enough or like sometimes I do my videos I don't like them I'm like I'm not gonna post this because I don't like it didn't come out how I thought it would so just maybe like not thinking about it too much and just posting it yeah if you're an editor out there hit up Marlene yeah and I know you wanted to you said you wanted to get into like your gym content yes I know your gym era I feel Speaker 1 (15:48) like you would thrive because i remember that video that you posted in the stairmaster and tell me why i sat there and i watched you the whole time i know i need to keep doing those too people just you got to remember that People love you, Marlene. Yeah, let her know in the comments section below. She's not going to post it. And your personality is very unique and you're so funny. We love you. Thank you, guys. I appreciate you guys. So this is your sign to start posting shit. Exactly. Or cancel. For real. All more stress. Yeah, I'll cancel. You better have five videos by this time. The time's aside. No, literally. I think Marlene has a few stories and I think Yoati has some. And I'm just going to sit back and relax. I know. I'm going to be over here fucking stressed and scared. That's enough. Okay, I want Marlene to start. I'm scared to start. Okay, you guys. So I'm going to go ahead and look at my phone just so I get my facts straight and I don't miss anything. Speaker 1 (19:36) I looked down and I was like, wait, are those like your actual shoes for the outfit? I thought they were like an accident. It's because I saw your little shoes over there. And then I looked and then I was like, oh wait, she probably forgot to change her shoes. No, bitch. So they look funny because I don't have socks. I forgot my fucking socks, dude. It's supposed to be like a comfy cozy. Yeah. It's because I looked down and all I saw was her pata like this. And I was like, what the fuck? Don't lie. Also, that position makes me feel like you're like this. Sorry, I forgot my socks looked funny. Don't look at me. I'm dead. Okay, good. Speaker 1 (20:19) All right, you guys ready? Let me know if you know this one. You do? No, you don't. How are you talking about it? No. Okay. So this is the Idaho four case. Oh, I don't know that one. The Idaho four case. Yes. Idaho. I don't even know where to go with this. Idaho. Okay. So. Sorry. I do ASMR. You do ASMR. I'm like, we lower the lights. No, so basically, this case happened in Idaho, Moscow. Moscow, Idaho. And it's about four college students that got murdered in their college house. I think I know this one. I don't. I think so. In their fraternity? Yeah, so they were in a sorority. So basically... Speaker 1 (21:13)
