I Speaker 3 (2:40) wanted to start talking about... Speaker 2 (2:42) Just to get out ahead of this because I just want... We're saying it's the dinner official show because she is so much better than I am at this. So she is hosting my podcast. Speaker 3 (2:51) That is not true. I am not better at this. Speaker 2 (2:53) Like literally when you just say things, Kyle can attest to this. We're like, yeah, she just, it's so much better. Because I would take six takes. I'd go, was that good? How was that? Give me a sec. I'd go check my hair. I'd stress out. It's fine. Anyway. Speaker 3 (3:08) I didn't expect to find that I was less vain than you in this process, but I have discovered that. Speaker 2 (3:13) I'm more nervous vain. Like, I'm like, you know, neurotic vain. Speaker 3 (3:18) Neurotic. Okay. That's true. Yeah. Let's go with more neurotic. Yeah, Speaker 2 (3:21) yeah, yeah. Speaker 3 (3:21) Okay. I wanted to, as someone who has really leaned into the Boy Meets World universe over the last four years of doing the podcast, Pod Meets World. I Speaker 2 (3:31) love the universe, by the way. You like Speaker 3 (3:33) that? Speaker 2 (3:33) It's kind of like the MCU, like the MCU universe, the Boy Meets World universe. Exactly. And then I saw someone all bummed that this isn't part of the Sandlot universe. And I was like, I've never heard the Sandlot Speaker 3 (3:43) universe. Speaker 2 (3:44) I like this. And Speaker 3 (3:45) I guess some could say, is it a part of the same universe or no? Is it, would you? It's a multiverse. It's definitely Speaker 2 (3:52) a multiverse. It's, you know, somewhere on another. Duck Speaker 3 (3:56) Out Teds is the Miles Morales. Yes. Okay. And look at how good that Speaker 2 (4:00) turned out. Speaker 3 (4:01) One of my favorites. Right? Speaker 2 (4:02) Hands Speaker 3 (4:02) down. Yes. Okay. Can you tell people? What is Dugout Dads? Is it a spinoff? Is it a reboot? Is it, what is it? Speaker 2 (4:11) It's actually like that one Spider-Man who's like chubby. That's Dugout Dads. Okay, Speaker 3 (4:17) right. It's Speaker 2 (4:18) a Speaker 3 (4:18) 40 plus year old. He's Speaker 2 (4:20) eating a little too much. He's still Spider-Man, but you know, he's lost a step or two. No, Dugout Dads is a completely original concept. And basically. I coached my son's little league team for, it was actually not little league, it was pony ball for a couple years. And I stopped coaching when I realized he actually needed a real coach that knew what he was talking about. From like six to eight, I can, you know, starfish, throw it like that, you know, choke up, I'm good. But then they start actually needing coaching and I went, I'm going to take a step back here. So I became just a parent. But through that whole experience, I saw how much, how seriously I took it. And I wasn't one of the people that end up on social media, you know, getting kicked out of a game or doing crazy stuff. But, you know, I'd be lying if I said I didn't get into it. Speaker 3 (5:12) So Speaker 2 (5:12) one, my kid made it to the championship game, my oldest. And it had been this epic season. Speaker 3 (5:18) Congratulations, by the way. Speaker 2 (5:19) Thank you. Thank you. And then he lost in the championship game. And the parents. In the bleachers, we were like kicking over coolers and hugging each other and crying on each other's shoulders. And we were so sad. We were never going to see each other again. This is terrible. It was just so dramatic. But they were wonderful people. Then I looked out into the outfield and my son and his teammates were playing tag five seconds after they lost the game. Speaker 3 (5:44) Yeah, already behind them. Speaker 2 (5:46) Couldn't care less. And I went, this has to be a show. This, you know, it's such a funny idea. You know, the parents. Speaker 2 (5:54) taking it so seriously, wanting to win so bad, and the kid's not really caring. And I have a production company now, Hambino Media, and my business partner, Kyle Howard, who we've been friends and you know for a long time, we are developing things. And we had this on the back burner because we were like, this is a funny idea, but something didn't quite mix. And then I went and did an appearance with the other Sandlock guys, which we do a couple a year together. And it's always so special when we're all together, you know. And I came back from that appearance and walked into the office the next Monday and said, Kyle, remember Dugout Dads? Yeah, that show idea, but the Sandlock guys are the dads. And we went, that's Speaker 3 (6:34) a Speaker 2 (6:34) show. Speaker 3 (6:35) Yes. And Speaker 2 (6:36) it's just sort of fallen into place with everyone. I mean, we've gotten. We have these, you know, Sebastian Jones and Dan Kopelman. Sebastian wrote on Friends, not Seinfeld. Yeah, we made that mistake. Yeah, Speaker 3 (6:47) we Speaker 2 (6:47) made that mistake. He wrote on Friends. Dan Kopelman did Malcolm in the Middle. They just took it on, created a writer's room, wrote it. It's so funny. Victor Nelly jumped on to direct. He's been just directing for years. Got the incredible director of photography, Michael Price, and just, like, got this. camera team, it looks like, you know, a big budget movie thanks to them. And just everywhere we've turned, Victoria Fradkin is another producer with Kyle and I. She's, you know, been in the YouTube world a lot in horror, which, you know, this is not horror. This is a slasher also. We haven't gotten to that part yet. You're killing me smalls to a whole new level. But it just, you know, and then even yourself, like people that have jumped on board and made it what it is has been. So special. I still, my voice, let's get out ahead of this too. I had 12 pages of dialogue. I've never had that much in my life. We Speaker 3 (7:42) wrapped several weeks ago. I Speaker 2 (7:43) still, and I still have a sore voice box. Okay. So it's not puberty. My voice just will crack throughout this podcast. Speaker 3 (7:51) Me thinks you doth protest too much. I've heard this story about 12 pages a day for a few weeks now. You Speaker 2 (7:58) know what fixes it? Coffee. Speaker 3 (7:59) That is what I've heard. To stay hydrated with coffee will make it better.
