Speaker 1 (0:09) Hello everybody and welcome back to Permaculture Living with me, Manisha Lath Gupta. Welcome to the first episode of Season 2. And before I begin, let me apologize for the inordinate delay in bringing out this season. Actually, I had initially thought that with the hiatus of two, three months, I could come back and record season two. But what took me a longer time was the launch of Ananda Permaculture Academy, a place where I offer courses around permaculture design, soil, plants, water, and all the topics that get covered under permaculture design. With the launch of the Ananda Permaculture Academy, I'm also now offering a full-fledged Certified, internationally recognized Permaculture Design Certificate course, which is commonly known as the PDC. So if any of you have been following this podcast and are keen to get yourself certified or really learn the ropes of permaculture design, you may want to check out www.permaculture.co.in. That's the URL on which the Academy is hosted. And you can see if you want to sign up for any of the upcoming batches. Speaker 1 (1:28) So great. Now, if you're new to this podcast and are coming in straight into season two and haven't heard season one, you may want to go and listen to season one as well. But if not, then let me just give you a brief overview of what this podcast is all about. This podcast actually covers the personal and intimate journey of living in a big city, working in the corporate world, going to, you know, modern schools in the city, etc. And then finally shifting to the land, which is the Ananda Permaculture Farm, where we currently live, grow our own food, harvest our own water. live as one with nature and also reside in a sustainable house that we've built out of rammed earth, lime and stone. So you can imagine that it would have been quite a journey for us to get from living in high rises in Mumbai to coming and living on the land with numerous other species and living with the village folk and doing something completely different. from what we were doing in the corporate world. And that journey is really what I've tried to capture in this podcast as a way for me to share the challenges, the steps, the experiences, the setbacks, the rewards, you know, everything that happened in this journey. Because this is not a technical podcast. I don't really share here the techniques of doing things. You'll find a lot more of that on either my YouTube channel or on the Ananda Permaculture Academy. But this is more as a friend, you know, sharing my experiences with you so that if you decide to do something like this, you have a little bit of a taste of what that could feel like. So that's really the idea. And it's been such a long time since we started this project because we started in 2010. And, you know, we are sitting today in 26. So it's been almost 16 years. For me to recap everything that happened along the way, I keep referring back to the photographs I have taken over the years. That is really what triggers my... memory and I can remember what was happening and what experiences we were undergoing. So the documentation that I've done, it's pretty extensive. I mean, all thanks to, you
