Speaker 1 (0:00) Today on No Filter, just when you thought the Nancy Guthrie case couldn't get any stranger, investigators are now looking into a possible new ransom note nearly eight months after the lady disappeared. Meanwhile, Lindsey Clancy is back in court and fighting over a retrial, a holdout juror, and whether this whole case gets dragged through another trial, and it's getting messier by the minute. And Blake Lively has reportedly just split from her longtime publicist, Leslie Sloan, as the Justin Baldoni legal bath comes to an end, which is even more interesting considering Leslie Sloan was basically a supporting character in the entire PR war. Plus, Teresa Giudice is finally addressing Melania's airport meltdown, and Netflix is digging back into Matthew Perry's life and death. And somehow, we still have Jay-Z, Taylor Frankie Paul, and Presley Gerber to get through. So, yes. The group chat is fully on fire. So let's dive in. This is No Filter with Zach Peter. Your go-to source for all the latest pop culture and reality TVT. Surf fresh all week long. Let's dive in. Speaker 1 (1:15) What's up, guys? Welcome on in. Welcome on in, everybody in the club. Happy Tuesday. It is Tuesday, my dudes. What's up, guys? We have a lot to get into. Blake, Nancy, all of it. All of it, all of it, all of it. I mean, I guess the biggest breaking news, the biggest hot headline in the news this morning is that Blake Lively has officially fired her longtime publicist, Leslie Sloan. What? OMG, Leslie Sloan is done. They've worked together for nearly two decades, 20 years. And I believe, so let's see, what are we in 2026? I believe they started working together in 2006. That was what Gossip Girl, Sister of the Traveling Pants. This was before Leslie Sloan was the powerhouse that she became in like the 2010s because that's when she eventually launched her own PR firm, Vision PR. That was in 2014. So since then. You know, Leslie Sloan has kind of been at the top of our game. And she's been out there with Blake Lively, keeping her hot in the headlines. And that all kind of blew up. It looks like, you know, obviously Blake has had a reputation for not being the most stellar actress in Hollywood, not being the nicest to work with or the easiest to work with. And Leslie Sloan has worked very hard at burying a lot of stories for Blake over the years, allegedly. But now it seems like Blake has officially parted. I mean, Blake Lively's entire career has completely imploded and blown up right in front of her. And I don't know how she did not think that this legal battle was going to go well. Like, I think we all kind of saw the train coming. But it kind of seems like it wasn't even Leslie Sloan, because if we kind of look back at history. When Stephanie Jones was trying to contact Blake Lively and her team to let them know about the text messages between Baldoni and his team, Leslie Sloan kind of dismissed it and didn't really give it much credence, didn't really feed it, right? And then it was Ashley Avignone, who's friends with Taylor Swift and, what is she, a stylist or makeup artist or hairstylist or something? She does something behind the scenes. But so she's good friends with Taylor Swift and Blake Lively. And she's the one that made sure that these text messages got to Blake Lively via Stephanie Jones, because Stephanie Jones originally reached out to Leslie Sloan. And Leslie Sloan was like, yeah, we don't care. We're not even going to bother with this. So yeah, I just think in traditional. Hollywood, yeah, you needed a publicist. You needed somebody that was going to be saving your reputation and planting stories for you. But now in today's day and age, social media is all the publicity, right? You can control the narrative. You can talk to people directly. You don't need to go through the gatekeepers of Hollywood anymore. And I think Blake has realized that. And she's probably now going to implement some sort of like digital strategist is what I would imagine. But crazy, crazy, crazy. Blake Lively. Speaker 1 (4:15) Denzo's. But yeah, we'll see. We know Justin Baldoni is still fighting to see if he'll have to end up paying out insurance or having to pay out of pocket or if the insurance money will cover what he owes to Blake Lively, which is what, less than $500,000? Not much of a win for her. And then, yeah, everything between Jennifer Abel and Stephanie Jones was blowing up in the media and Melissa Nathan because that lawsuit is still ongoing. Crazy, crazy, crazy. We'll see where it goes from here. But crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy. Okay. So that was probably our hottest breaking news. Just figured we'd come straight out the gate with that. Up next, where is the lady? What happened to Nancy Guthrie? So the Pima County Sheriff's Department has issued a new statement. Oh, we love when the Pima County Sheriff's Department issues a new statement. Oh, my goodness. Thank you, Pima County. What would we do without you? Oh, yeah. Without you, we would probably find the old lady. So they issued a new statement saying that investigators and the FBI are examining a new possible ransom note connected to Nancy Guthrie's disappearance. Authorities say that they are currently trying to determine whether or not this new note is even credible or whether it's real. I'll save you the suspense. Dot, dot, dot. It's probably not. Investigators are also aware of all the social media chatter around this note and whether or not there's any legitimacy to it. They're factoring all of that in. It's the same story over and over and over and over and over again. So is there a new development eight months into this case? Probably not. Someone is clearly just trying to hijack the conversation yet again and talk about Nancy yet again. And I'm sure Savannah's pissed about it. She's probably like, God, leave my mother alone. Can't I just host Wordle in peace? Speaker 1 (6:07) So, yeah, I don't know. I mean, we haven't even been able to verify that the first two or the well, the first two, they said that they haven't been able to confirm whether or not they are real or aren't real. Okay. Like, I just, I don't even know where we're at at this point. So the lady's gone. We don't know what happened to the lady. Why would a legitimate kidnapper wait this long? Why would we continue to write notes eight months later? Like, obviously, you know, you can send in information. So at this point, why don't you just send in information? You can. Collect your million-dollar reward. You have options. You have places to go. Another ransom note does absolutely nothing for anyone. So, sorry. Speaker 1 (6:50) kind of stupid to me. I don't know. I don't think this will lead to anything. I don't think at this point I'm beginning to fear we're never going to find Nancy's body and her remains are just going to remain gone out into the, you know, with the coyotes that ate her or something. Who knows? But yeah, eight months in, no Nancy. At this point, I fear we're probably never going to find the lady, sadly. Lindsay Clancy. Oof, my goodness. Speaker 1 (7:18) Lindsay Clancy back in court today, back at trial, back at it again with the white bands, back at it again with the white bands. So she was set to appear again in, what is it, Plymouth? Did I say Plymouth? Plymouth Superior Court since the judge, Judge Sullivan, declared a mistrial. That was on September 4th. It's now September 29th, so it's been almost a full month. The jury, as we know, was unable to reach unanimous verdict, so the defense is now arguing that... Lindsay is not criminally responsible. And because there was only one holdout juror, the defense is claiming that that juror should not be able to hold up the entire rest of the verdict. And so her defense is claiming that they want that juror barred from being able to, I guess, have their vote valid. Speaker 1 (8:13) Her team, Reddington, is arguing double jeopardy, manifest necessity, usually when there is a mistrial, which appears to have been the case here, right? Unless Reddington is able to really defend his motion here. When there is a deadlock jury and the jury is unable to come to a unanimous decision, even if it is just one holdout juror, then that is a mistrial. But Reddington is saying, no, the jury, he wants to have the jury investigated. He wants to have the juror tossed. I mean, that to me, I do think, even though I think Michael, what was it, Desronville, Desronville, the holdout juror, he issued, he posted a new video or he sent a video. yesterday. And it basically said that, you know, he wants the kids to be the focus. His Catholic faith is what's leading him through all of this. And that's what helped him reach his decision. He doesn't seem to have any reasonable doubt that Lindsay Clancy was in her right state of mind. He believes that this was deliberate. He believes that the prosecution pleaded their case. Reddington is doing anything and everything he possibly can. And he's honestly doing the most. I mean, I get it. He is doing his job. He's fighting for his client. But even today at the hearing, he's now arguing that there's no evidence that Lindsay Clancy ever killed her children. It's like, that's rich, dude. Now suddenly there's no evidence that she killed her kids. How about you basically contesting to that and Lindsay contesting to that? And I mean, he's just, he knows what he's doing and he's fanning the flames and he's getting the internet fired up. And he's using this as an opportunity to get the public to put pressure on the courts to hopefully make a decision. I don't know how well that's ever really worked in the past of getting the public to put pressure on the courts. We've seen judges remain, for the most part, pretty solid through all of this. And I don't know how scary the Ku Klux Klansies actually are. Well, I don't know. They're out there defending somebody, murdering their kids. Maybe they're a lot more dangerous than we can expect. Who knows? But all the pussies for Lindsay are out there back outside the courtroom. in their pink outfits, cheering for her like she's their goddess. It's actually still quite gross and astounding to me that this is even still a thing that we're disputing about whether or not Lindsay did it or didn't do it. But of course, even though Reddington was very clear that Lindsay did this all throughout the trial, Lindsay has been clear that she's done this. The expert witnesses are clear that she did this, except for the ones that are, I mean, the real dispute in the courtroom was whether or not she was in her right state of mind or not in her right state of mind. And Reddington was very much. maintaining that she was not in her right state of mind. But I predicted this. I predicted this. I predicted this. I predicted this weeks ago. I said, if this does not go the way that Reddington wants and it goes to another mistrial, he is going to pivot strategies. And I remember my friend, Lethal Lauren, Lauren Knighty, court of random opinion. She was like, no, Reddington would never do that. He laid down too much of the groundwork that Lindsay did it. And this is all about mental health and the failure from the medical care system. Well, I actually don't think this is going to help her, what do you call it, either, her malpractice lawsuit against her doctors. Because if she's now questioning whether or not she even did this, then yeah, you can't sue your medical providers for failing you if you're now saying, well, I don't know, maybe I didn't do it. Which then only leads, well, then you bring back all the Patrick conspiracies. I'm like, Reddington knows what he's doing. And he knows that the stupid ladies that were throwing themselves out the fucking windows to try and prove their case, that they have no critical thinking skills. And the cognitive dissonance is real there. And all you're doing is validating Bratz dolls and lube candles and, you know, pink pussy t-shirts. And I just, I can't. The fact that we're even going down this hill again and we're, I mean, I get it. He's trying to throw everything at the wall, but it's like, you're now feeding the rabid crazies. And now they're all going to come up with Super Reggie and he was playing the long game and we knew he was going to play the long game. No, you're a fucking idiot. And let's like not go through this again. Because if you had critical thinking skills, you would know that what he's doing is literally just trying to throw everything at the wall. He's throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping something will stick. And at this point, this goes to show you how desperate he's becoming. If he wants the holdout juror investigated and tossed out. I mean, that goes against our entire jury system and the integrity of the jury system because there is no evidence that this juror lied. This juror was clear that he had a criminal history. He was questioned by the prosecution. Reddington and the defense team allowed him to move forward with this trial. He's just upset that this juror was the holdout juror that was preventing his client from going free
