Speaker 4 (0:01) This is exactly right. Speaker 7 (0:06) Lisa, tell them about our new show. We have a new podcast. It's called Don't Lie to Me. I'm Lexi Iwano. We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart. And I'm Lisa DiGiulio, the old one, which means we Speaker 6 (0:19) have wildly different references, occasionally different opinions. And at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all. Now Speaker 7 (0:26) in my 30s, being the founder of New Shoes, good taste is my business. Listen on the iHeartRadio app, Speaker 6 (0:32) Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Speaker 3 (0:37) I survived nine months in captivity, and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart, and these are The Survivor Files. Every week, I'm with survivors who lived through the unthinkable, abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced. These are stories about what it takes to make it out alive. Listen to The Survivor Files with Elizabeth Smart on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. If Speaker 5 (1:09) your bookshelf and your For You page are equally important to your personality, welcome home. Pro Society is a weekly podcast that's part book club, part group chat for anyone who thinks Pride and Prejudice and Love Island deserve the same level of discourse. Each week, we're connecting the dots between books, the internet, and pop culture with your favorite writers, book talk creators, and plenty of overthought opinions. Yeah, Speaker 1 (1:32) I'm obsessed. I'm obsessed. Listen Speaker 5 (1:33) to Pro Society on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Speaker 1 (1:56) Hello and welcome to My Favorite Murder, Speaker 2 (1:58) the Speaker 1 (1:59) mini-sode. Speaker 2 (2:00) We read you your stories. This one's a special episode because we just asked for shame stories, things that you're ashamed of, like embarrassing stories, right? Speaker 1 (2:11) Yes, and we have found some great ones to the point where... We think maybe we should do a dedicated episode or a Speaker 2 (2:20) dedicated Speaker 1 (2:21) something. Something Speaker 2 (2:22) about it because it's funny and they're great and they made me feel better about myself. And I feel like it's like we're doing a service to everyone everywhere that everyone has done something embarrassing. Speaker 1 (2:32) Yes. So it's basically we're saying welcome to Shametown. That's right. We've been here. Yeah. Or we're so glad we're not you. Right. Everybody gets relief. Everyone laughs. Except for you. We enjoy ourselves. Maybe you don't as much. Yeah. But then we'll tell stories so you don't, like, we won't laugh, but you can laugh at us. It's basically a public Speaker 2 (2:52) service, and you're welcome. So shut up. So shut the fuck up. Am I first or are you first? Go first, yeah. Celebrity encounter. I accidentally kidnapped someone famous's kid. Oh, no. Hello, ladies. My family and I visited L.A. from Kansas this past New Year's to see the Rose Bowl parade and attend the football game. Welcome. I have a husband and three sons, ages 9, 13, and 16. The level of noise, the volume, and smell. And Axe body spray. Honey, you should take a year off. And it says, which is important here. One of the days in town, we visited the Academy Museum on Wilshire Boulevard. We walked in, wide open space, lots to look at, and we headed towards the ticket counter. It bends around, and I was looking up at the sign that said prices, info, etc. As I'm looking, I put my arms around my nine-year-old son in front of me, like a little hug, and pull him towards me. The following is what happened in a split second in my head. Hmm, weird. Theo wasn't wearing a puffer coat. Theo doesn't have a puffer coat. Oh, my God. I had grabbed someone else's son and pulled him towards me. I let go and jumped back. Somehow the kid was unfazed and the parents were busy up ahead. I quickly stepped back behind my own kids and told my husband. OK, so breathing heavily, but the crisis is averted. We then bought tickets and made our way to the exhibits. This was the 50th anniversary of Jaws' year, so there was a huge floor-wide exhibit to the movie. Speaker 3 (4:21) One Speaker 2 (4:22) area was showing the special zoom-in camera techniques used in the movie. A couple was there trying it out with a museum helper assisting them. I stopped to watch the process for a moment when I met eyes with the woman of the couple. She looked at me looking at her. Staring at each other, it slowly hit me. Oh my god, Tiffany Amber Thiessen's son was the boy I grabbed downstairs at the ticket counter. Speaker 2 (4:47) What? Tiffany, everything is in. That's so specific. And it's so, yeah. It's so L.A. It's so, you grab that person's side. And then Tiffany was not privy to my thoughts. So my guess is she's staring at me like, no, don't say hi. Don't say who I am and cause a stir. I was looking back thinking, oh, no. She thinks I'm a crazy fan who wants to let everyone know she's here. But nope. I was thinking, oh, no, oh, no. And then also, I have to tell everyone I know that I sort of abducted Kelly Kapowski's baby boy. Abducted is strong. Yeah, yeah. Well, she did. Like, she held him for ransom, kind of. Yeah, that's right. Again, I skirted over to my husband and said, you know the boy I grabbed downstairs thinking it was Theo? And I told him the story. Whew, well, all was well, and no words were exchanged. No cops were called. My own three sons, husband, and I enjoyed the rest of the museum and L.A. Love the food. Thank you. You mean that Marie Callender's that's right down there by the way? Del Taco. Thanks for reading my story and doing over 500 minisodes. My 13-year-old son Evan and I listen to your minisodes every Monday on the way to school. Hi, Evan. Hey, Evan. What's Speaker 1 (5:50) it Speaker 2 (5:50) like being 13? Oh, good Speaker 1 (5:52) luck, bro. Listen. Speaker 2 (5:54) It's going Speaker 1 (5:54) to be hard for a little while. Just hold your breath. And before you know it, you'll be 19. Let your mom pop your zits. Just let her do it. Ew. I know. Speaker 2 (6:02) No. Yes. And then it says, I love that we have this podcast to bond over. It can be hard to stay interesting to your newly teenage boy. Love, Alice. Speaker 1 (6:12) Alice. Epic. Tiffany and Berthyssen, if you're listening. If you're listening, there's a lady that's trying to steal your children. I've done things like that, not with. like not famous, but my equivalent is walking into the men's bathroom because I wasn't reading the sign. Right. Have you ever done that? Or just like a full march. I totally have. Full march into like past the sinks, almost to Speaker 2 (6:34) the stalls. And then nobody, like everyone pretends to not notice and it makes it worse instead of being like, oops, haha. No. Speaker 1 (6:40) I had a guy, like a businessman looking, coming out and being like, like that. And then I just spun on a foot and like marched back out. Yeah, I've definitely done that. That doesn't apply, but still. Speaker 7 (6:55) Lisa, we should tell them about our new show. Oh my God, Lexi, we have a new podcast. It's called Don't Lie to Me. I'm Lexi Iwano. We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart. And I'm Lisa DiGiulio, the old Speaker 6 (7:09) one, which means we have wildly different references, occasionally different opinions. And at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all. Speaker 7 (7:16) I'm not going to get anywhere fighting. That is Speaker 6 (7:20) wild. I learned that about you today. Speaker 7 (7:23) Now in my 30s, being the founder of New Shoes, good taste is my business. And I've always got something to say. If men were just honest about this, there would be so much more peace in the world. We're going to talk about dating, relationships, Speaker 6 (7:37) beauty, getting
