Speaker 8 (0:00) You need to get on it. You need to be in here every day. You're almost out of time. You're 22. You're late. Because I realized I saw a lot of people that didn't have any sense of urgency in their life. And when you don't have a sense of urgency, things aren't going to happen. You need to make things happen, as we already discussed. They're not just going to happen for you. You're not going to become a good fighter unless you make it happen. And you're not going to do anything in life unless you make Speaker 7 (0:26) it happen. No, Speaker 2 (0:27) emotionally. To be able to put myself in a place Speaker 7 (0:29) where at practice, when I'm training or during games, I switch my mind to Speaker 2 (0:35) something Speaker 7 (0:35) else. I switch my mode into something else. So that was my mental Speaker 8 (0:39) switch. It was like an actor getting ready for a film. You gotta put yourself in that cage. When you're in that cage, you are that character. Speaker 4 (0:47) Through my journey, Speaker 8 (0:49) I Speaker 4 (0:49) figured out the one piece I was missing. I thought it was cars. I thought it was women. I thought it was money. I thought it was everything. The one piece I was missing was me having the courage to face myself. Where I got my work ethic from? was the hours I had to spend learning this. And you realize you hard work. You can outwork anybody. No matter how badass they are. Speaker 8 (1:16) There's just been so many moments in the midst of things where like it's a workout or it's a diet or I'm starving or I'm doing check-ins or something and I'm just like... This is incredible. Like I'm peak condition in the world right now, fighting to be the best in the world. And I'm living in that moment right now. I'm doing this is what it takes when people see something on stage. This is what they don't see or that what I'm feeling in my mind when no one will understand what it takes to get there. I get to experience this every day. And I think it's just part of the human experience, feeling life that's just so beautiful. Speaker 7 (1:51) If you don't have discipline, I don't care how skillful you are, you're nothing. Speaker 7 (1:58) It's not the physical aspect, it's emotionally and psychologically. I put the impression that I'm God on them. Speaker 8 (2:06) If you feel like right now you're looking around with and you're lost or directionless, I would take about 15 minutes and figure out what the hell you want to do with your life and I would start getting after it. Speaker 7 (2:20) You got a whole lot more work to do. Speaker 7 (2:24) And you should not quit. To everyone at Affleck knows your name Speaker 7 (2:29) You should not quit. Until everyone at the million-dollar roundtable knows your name. You should not relent! Speaker 7 (2:39) And so everywhere you go in the insurance industry, they stand up and give you a standing ovation when you walk into the building. Go back and do. Speaker 7 (2:48) Exactly what you said. Speaker 7 (2:53) Go get it, son! Speaker 3 (2:57) I think that everyone has a personal brand that is unique and different, but everyone doesn't look that way because they conform to what they think everyone else wants them to look like. And so the fact that they are boring and they resent the fact that they're boring is because they are living out reflections of what they think everyone else wants them to do. And so all you have to do is start at square zero and be like, what do I want? The stick to it and muscle itself is something that you work on because if you started diets and you failed, you start working out and you failed. If you just make it longer every time before you fail, you're still making progress and you're still doing something that everyone else isn't doing. Speaker 2 (3:35) And Speaker 3 (3:36) that is the biggest meta indicator that you possibly can is if, because everyone sucks. Like so many people are mediocre. Like half of the United States is in debt. They don't even have a, like they, they're, they're negative net worth. And so like just saying different than that, like the bar isn't high. We talked about this. Dude, go for it. I know. I know. The Speaker 8 (3:57) bar has never been set lower to separate yourself out from the pack. Speaker 3 (4:01) Never Speaker 8 (4:02) been set lower. Speaker 3 (4:03) Because if you're not in love with what you do. You're gonna have to use a lot of discipline and I always say if you love what you do the need for discipline will disappear Discipline is great in a lot of areas of life and you need it But when it comes to what you doing for a living you're excited to go to be excited You want to be like, okay? Yeah, it's a grind and I'm working my ass off, but where else would I rather be? Speaker 8 (4:26) So if I hadn't gone for it, which would be for me back in Speaker 8 (4:31) 2017 when I was in college drinking, partying, doing all the things and being like, you know what, I'm not, I'm gonna stop this. My friends go out, I'm gonna go to sleep. I'm gonna wake up early, I'm gonna go to the gym. I'm gonna eat six times a day, I'm gonna spend my money on tuna and chicken breast rather than six packs of beer and all these things and I'm just gonna drop out of school and I'm gonna travel and I'm gonna try and get sponsors and I'm gonna try and win shows and I'm gonna do all this and I'm gonna take every risk I can and I didn't even think about it. When you're young, luckily, you're at the greatest opportunity in your life to take risks and to fail. And you're like, well, I'm 24 now. I can just go restart. Speaker 3 (5:07) I think that any artist or athlete or musician that sort of pushes the envelope of their genre, so to speak, is because they've been able to tap into that flow state. They're in the pocket. They're in the zone. Part of what's interesting to me is to chase experiences that put me in the zone, put me in the flow, because that's when I'm at my most engaged. That's when I'm inspired. That's when I can be actually present and silence that kind of anxious inner... critic or neurotic inner Woody Allen that's like worried about the future or melancholic for the past and so being in the zone means being in the moment it's a state of consciousness in which you feel your best and you perform your best when it comes time to lock in you know it's an expression of football lock in and lock out you know it's it's it's time to time to get to work what Speaker 2 (5:56) pissed you off the most what is it myself Speaker 4 (6:02) Why? Huh? Because I'm Speaker 7 (6:05) lazy. When was the last time you did something 100 %? Speaker 4 (6:11) I can't remember. Speaker 4 (6:13) What are Speaker 7 (6:14) you afraid of? Speaker 1 (6:15) Tell me! Speaker 1 (6:19) It's just screwed up! Speaker 1 (6:23) all my life i'm a failure you're not a failure you're not we Speaker 7 (6:29) all make mistakes in life embrace change when Speaker 8 (6:35) you're getting in there and you're overthinking and all these things coming too much of like after this this and this i have to force a negative oh my god that's gonna be so hard i should drop the weight then like no just get in there know what you can do bust your ass and get out of there yeah sometimes overthinking it holds you back people want to they want to jump from day one to day 10 by getting some big seed money or big investment. And dude, I don't care how much money I've made. I try to pretend like I'm broke every single day in the way that I think because it forces me to create new solutions and innovate in my brain. Speaker 3 (7:06) I had one of my sales guys who I said, dude, I don't see you at the gym. And he said, you know, I'm just really busy. And I just like looked at him and I was like, you will never have more time and less responsibility than you do now. So I kind of. Use the James Clear thing. I said, hey, if you can't make it work now, accept that you're never going to be in shape for the rest of your life. He was like, whoa. I was like, think about it. Rid yourself. Right. Yeah. I was like, you're just never going to be in shape. He was like, whoa. I mean, yeah, I was like, right, so do it or don't, but stop wanting it. I Speaker 8 (7:35) promise you, you don't want to be that old person sitting on your deathbed looking back at your life filled with regret because you always made the easy choice. Speaker 7 (7:45) Stick it right in your mouth! Speaker 7 (7:50) You out! That's Speaker 8 (7:52) go all in embrace it. Let it mold you shape you into what you've always wanted to become Speaker 2 (8:03) You have to put the hours in. You may have to raise children, cultivate your marriage, and work your side hustle all at the same time. Everybody knows if you don't go to the gym, if you don't get on the treadmill, put the cardio in, if you don't hit the weights and lift, you're not going to walk around with the physique that you see in your head. It's going to remain a conversation, a vision, a dream. Speaker 8 (8:24) Lazy people don't know how to start. Weak people don't know how to finish. Successful people don't know how to stop. People demand success. but refuse to work weekends. People want opportunity, but won't talk to strangers. People claim ambition, but sleep in every day. We are the result of our actions, not our aspirations. Speaker 4 (8:42) Let's say we have a circuit breaker. Okay? And I'm loading everything up to one circuit. Just load it up. It's gonna fucking blow. Speaker 4 (8:53) And once that thing blows, man, the circus all f***ed up. You got to have each thing plugged into the right spot. Like a crowded garage. You can't put anything in it. Once your brain is crowded, discipline is great. Motivation is great. But if you can't fit shit in your brain because it's all fucking cluttered with shit. There's no discipline. You may have it sometimes when it fits in that crowded garage of your mind, but you don't have the consistency that you need to have with that discipline. There's actually two human Speaker 5 (9:30) beings in the bathroom every morning. There's you and there's a human being in the mirror. And that human being is trying. And they've been there a long time. And they've been waiting for you to wake up and to see them. They're tired of your constant negativity. They're tired of you beating them down. They need you to be more encouraging. They need you to be more celebratory. They need your support. And when you finally wake up and create a moment with yourself every single morning where you look yourself in the eye. And you see yourself and you forgive yourself and you honor yourself and you say, I believe with this gesture in you. It is this remarkably deep and spiritual feeling of connection that you've been longing for for a very long time. Speaker 8 (10:36) Your excuses will destroy you and take everything that you ever wanted from you if you let them. It can seem like a friend, just like your friend that keeps feeding you drinks at the bar can seem like a friend. But are they really helping you in any way, shape or form? No, they're not. They're not. So when your excuses make you feel a little bit better about the fact that you didn't execute on what you needed to execute on. Then they can make you feel better, but they're not helping you. They're not helping you at all. 400 trillion to one. The odds of becoming a human being. You know, being successful takes several different variables. I think self-awareness is number one. If you don't know yourself and you don't know what you're good at, you've got no shot because you're going to be spinning your wheels. I think work ethic is at the top. Nobody, nobody watching this right now knows anybody that's successful. at all that hasn't put in serious amounts of work. You cannot grow mentally, physically, emotionally, or financially in your comfort zone and when avoiding pain. It doesn't work like that. If you want to build an ultra successful business, you're going to take two by four after two by four after two by four to the face before anything becomes reality. If you want to build an amazing body, you have to break down the muscle fibers in order to rebuild them back up. Speaker 8 (12:01) How are you going to choose to show up? Like I was talking about before, there are things out of your control. What's in your control? How can you take that power back into your own hands? And what are you going to take from it? What kind of meaning can you find from taking power out of what you feel powerless in? Speaker 5 (12:16) Feeling stuck is a signal that Speaker 8 (12:18) you've stopped Speaker 5 (12:18) growing. That's it. And when most people feel stuck since they don't understand that it's tied to a fundamental need for growth. We believe it's an existential crisis and we blow up our lives. Learning anything gets you back in touch with a fundamental need. It makes you start to feel like things are moving. And from that place of feeling a little bit more empowered, you'll be able to make better decisions about what big things need to change in your Speaker 8 (12:50) life. You get to live life one time. And this is the time right now to understand what's actually happening. and actually map your behavior to something that will impact you for the next 80 years. Pay the attention to who's giving you the advice. Who's giving the advice? You should Speaker 3 (13:06) only take advice from people whose dreams for your life are bigger than yours are. Speaker 4 (13:11) You got to learn to pick yourself up on your own. A lot of times these fights and these battles, you got to be your own coach. You got to be your own motivator. Speaker 8 (13:19) I could Speaker 3 (13:20) have saved myself tons of mental agony. because I could have reassured that, hey, look, this is just the way it goes. And this is just part Speaker 8 (13:27) of the deal. And you signed up for this. And nobody ever tells
