Speaker 4 (0:00) Our first stop was Culver's. Unfortunately it was a Friday night so it was busy so we had to wait for an hour. Then we went to the high school football game. Speaker 1 (0:06) Clean bathrooms. Speaker 4 (0:07) The bathrooms were immaculate. That was nice. Normally you go into like a gas station bathroom and you just kind of like brace yourself. Speaker 1 (0:13) The food isn't that great. Speaker 2 (0:16) Uh oh. Uh oh. You're gonna anger people. Speaker 1 (0:19) Bumpy roads. Are Speaker 2 (0:21) they bumpy outside of Milwaukee or just in Milwaukee? I Speaker 4 (0:24) think it was kind of all over the show a little bit. Just Speaker 1 (0:26) through the Wisconsin state. Speaker 4 (0:27) But Milwaukee's probably worse. And I kind of have to be like, oh, coming up. What Speaker 2 (0:32) went Speaker 4 (0:33) through Speaker 2 (0:33) your mind in Speaker 4 (0:34) the Wisconsin Dells? We were Speaker 1 (0:36) kind of like, what is this place? Kind Speaker 4 (0:38) of like half town, half amusement park, half fairground. Like every store looked like, I think there was a store that just did like cheese croquet. Speaker 2 (0:50) Hey guys, welcome back to Milwaukee Uncut. So Bree and I decided to make the very wise decision to go up to Minneapolis for the Vikings-Packers game a couple weeks ago, which, you know, it was a disaster. Not only did the Packers lose, but we went up there to get content. And then, you know, we go into the stadium, which, by the way, very nice stadium. Need to give it to the Vikings. Doesn't have the tailgate atmosphere Lambeau does, but... Nice stadium. So we get in and sit down and then Cody, our editor, texts us about midway through the second quarter. And we want to get those clips out as quick as possible while emotions are high during the game. And informed us that the mics were not working well on about 60 to 70 percent of what we got. Speaker 2 (1:39) Not only did that happen, then we all know what happened in the game. I don't need to rehash any of that. Big win against the Jets last week, and hopefully we take care of business against the Falcons. But something good did happen. We got to meet two Packer fans from New Zealand that were in town, Katie and Grayson, and then we found out they were coming to Milwaukee a couple days later, the Tuesday after the game. So we met up with them, took them around a little bit, and then... Had them on the podcast to talk all about their experience. They went to Green Bay before Minneapolis, then went to Milwaukee. They were in New York before that. They're kind of going all around the country for seven weeks. So they were great to hang out with. Got to have them in here. It's a fun episode and it was awesome. Spending time with those two. And before diving in, I just want to thank our partners who make Milwaukee Uncut possible. We'll kick it off with Annex Wealth Management. The fall is a great time. to get your life together. And that means taking a hard look at your finances too and finishing the year strong. Annex is a holistic wealth management firm with offices in and all around the Milwaukee area that helps you with everything from retirement planning, smart investing, estate planning, legacy planning, and tax strategies all under one roof. That is Annex. Know the difference. Annexwealth.com. Next, got Nicolet Law, the Midwest law firm. Injured. Get Nicolet and Russell and the team. We'll take great care of you, including, including, but not limited to, if you get injured on any of the, quote, bumpy roads that we have around Milwaukee and Wisconsin. That was a quote from Katie on this episode. They're not used to bumpy roads in New Zealand, apparently. If you end up in an accident, give Nicolet a call. And, I mean, if you're looking for a nice, canned old-fashioned this fall, great time of year for an old-fashioned. Or 10, like our friend Nate Moody, Drink Wisconsinably Beverage Company best vodka, brandy, and canned cocktails in the game available at bars and liquor stores across the state and in the corner bar in right field over at AmFam. Perfect for hopefully a deep Brewers playoff run. That is Drink Wisconsinably Beverage Company. All right, let's dive in with our New Zealand friends, Grayson and Katie. Speaker 1 (3:57) Kia ora from New Zealand. Speaker 2 (4:01) Randomly ran into you guys. I think I approached you on the street in Minneapolis. Speaker 2 (4:09) We don't need to rehash what happened that afternoon, but it was an honor meeting you two. You were here. You've been in the States for a little while. You were in Green Bay, Minneapolis, now Milwaukee for over 24 hours. And yeah, we've never had it. I have personally never met anyone from New Zealand. And I don't know if we ever had any foreigners on the show. Speaker 2 (4:36) Who have just been passing through town? Oh, no. Yeah, I don't think so. So welcome. Yeah, I mean, first time for everything. It's Speaker 4 (4:42) an Speaker 2 (4:42) honor. Thank you. It's been fun. It was nice seeing you guys this morning popping by. And yeah, we were just at Sobelman's in Great Lakes Distillery. Speaker 4 (4:52) Yep. It was a great little experience. Thanks for taking us along. Speaker 2 (4:56) Yeah. Speaker 1 (4:57) I had my first Bloody Mary. Speaker 2 (4:59) What did you think? Had you heard of Bloody Marys before coming over here? Speaker 1 (5:03) I'd heard of them, but I'd never had one. And I liked it. Speaker 2 (5:08) Did you think there would be a cheeseburger coming out of it? I Speaker 1 (5:10) didn't expect that. Speaker 2 (5:13) You didn't like it as much? Speaker 4 (5:15) No. I mean, I used to work in a bar and I've made them before and I've tried them. To be fair, this one was a little bit nicer than this. I didn't really like it, but the kind of display of all the food sitting on top was pretty good. Not for me. We Speaker 2 (5:28) didn't get the one with the entire chicken in it. We just got the one with the cheeseburger, some celery, some shrimp, sausage, cheese. Yeah, it was like a whole meal over there at Silverman's. I think that was the lowest end one you could get to or maybe one above from there. How's the States been so far? Speaker 4 (5:49) Yeah, no, it's been good. It's been good. Obviously, our first couple of days were in New York and that was chaotic. And then obviously we've traveled up to, we traveled up to obviously Wisconsin. And we originally planned to go to a game at Lambeau, but then the schedule came out and then we had to kind of shift our plans. And that's when we met you guys in Minnesota. Speaker 1 (6:12) We stopped in Green Bay. We did Speaker 4 (6:13) stop in Green Bay. And Speaker 1 (6:14) we did the Lambeau Stadium tour. Speaker 4 (6:17) That's right, yeah. Speaker 2 (6:18) What was it like seeing Lambeau? Okay, and Grayson, you're a big Packer fan. Yes, very big, yeah. And that's why you guys came to Wisconsin in the Speaker 4 (6:28) first place? Yeah, pretty much, yeah. Speaker 2 (6:30) Why are you a Packer fan? Speaker 4 (6:32) I started watching football with my friends probably 10 or so years ago, and it was during the Rodgers era. Aaron Jones was playing, and I just loved the team, and I kind of stuck with it. Speaker 4 (6:44) You also don't have any outside influence when you're in New Zealand because we don't have football there at all. So you kind of just gravitate towards the team and you stick with it. Speaker 2 (6:53) How do you even find it or watch the games there? You said 17 hours ahead? Yeah. Speaker 4 (7:00) So originally you couldn't really. You'd have to find a legal stream and watch it or something like that. But now Disney Plus has everything available for ESPN. So we can just kind of watch Red Zone. But it was awkward because it is during work hours. So I kind of just hope I'm in the office and I pull it up on my second screen. On Speaker 2 (7:19) Monday morning. On a Speaker 4 (7:21) Monday morning, yeah. Sometimes we have to wake up. I wake up at like 5 o'clock before my normal wake-up time and I'll just start watching the games in bed while Caitlin's asleep. Speaker 2 (7:30) And you and your friends, you have a podcast. Is it specifically about football or do you guys just talk about that? Speaker 4 (7:37) It's specifically about football. American football. Tackle for Loss podcast. Yeah. We talk about American football. That's pretty much it. Speaker 2 (7:44)
