Speaker 2 (0:37) Hello and welcome to Friday's episode of the podcast brought to you by a couple of gals who've had a couple of bad haircuts. Speaker 1 (0:44) Yes. I, oh my God, I cried. Speaker 2 (0:48) When you got your bad haircut? Speaker 1 (0:50) Yeah. Shut up. That just goes to Speaker 2 (0:53) show how shallow you are. It does, Speaker 1 (0:55) actually. It really does. I actually like to pride myself on not really caring that much about how I look. But it appears I'm so wrong because I haven't cried for a long time. And on Sunday, is it Sunday? No, Saturday. Day after I had my haircut, I was like, I hate it. And then James was winding me up more. And then he got the brunt of it, actually. And I worked out it was his fault. Speaker 2 (1:24) Yeah, correct. Speaker 1 (1:25) As everything. But no, honestly, I've had too much haircut off and not how I like it. And I'm really cross about it. Oh, George, Speaker 2 (1:34) can I just say now, because you guys can't see George. looks stunning and your hair is Speaker 1 (1:40) looking super healthy but Speaker 2 (1:41) there's nothing that I can say say to you now because if you've had too much off the length you've had too much off the length and if you've had choppy bits put around the face it's irritating it's Speaker 1 (1:48) so irritating but I tell you what I am on a hair growth journey now and I will take you all on it because as soon as I left the hairdressers I went straight to Spaceman Gay and I was like Speaker 2 (2:00) what Speaker 1 (2:01) have you got that is going to help my hair grow and now I've got an array of products to help my hair grow. So I will keep you all informed. Well, first of all, we need Speaker 2 (2:12) a proper visual and a photo, maybe a video of the length of it. You've got to take lots of before and after photos. But also, the good thing about you is that your hair grows really, really quickly. No, it Speaker 1 (2:21) does. We're coming into that season Speaker 2 (2:22) where you're going to be wearing it out the whole time. Yeah, I Speaker 1 (2:25) know. Speaker 2 (2:25) None of us are going out anymore. I know. And Speaker 1 (2:27) actually, to be fair, I haven't had a bad haircut. I've just got way too Speaker 2 (2:30) much hair in. I just couldn't style it. So it's got the opposite. Way too many. So I'm going to have about an inch off the length and I'm going to have some of the bonds taken out because it's just way too much. It's heavy. Speaker 1 (2:41) It's hurting my neck. But we're actually not on here to talk about hair today at all. We're actually going to do a fashion Q &A, which I'm so up for because, again, I've ordered a lot after my hair disaster in a bid to make myself feel better. That's Speaker 2 (2:58) hysterical. Speaker 1 (3:00) Did it? No. No, it didn't. But you're going to show me where to get some good clip-ins. We've got our shoot on Wednesday this Speaker 2 (3:09) week. And so we were recording this a few days before you guys are going to get it. And now we're like, oh God, we're going to have to stick Georgia with some clip-ins in so that she feels a bit more confident. Speaker 1 (3:20) I've never had extensions before, but you know. Welcome to my world. Speaker 2 (3:24) I'm up for it. I'm ready for it. Right, let's get into the fashion Q &A. Thank you so much for sending in all of your questions. It is, we are officially in autumn and we're talking autumn winter style. I have got to hold my hands up in this moment and say I have been in a fashion rut for the last three weeks. I think I've really struggled moving out of summer and being like, what the hell am I going to wear? And I just, I have got way too much stuff in my wardrobe that I'm not wearing. I can't find anything. Nothing works. I feel a bit un-stylish, unfashionable. I feel like... I can't get my head around certain trends that are coming in. So I have spent the last week or so kind of really thinking, right, starting the detox. I've already got two bags of stuff that I'm taking down to the charity shop and I am really going to streamline my wardrobe. And it's actually been really lovely going through this process of answering these questions and prepping for them because I've been like, right, that will work on me. That will work on me. I've got that. I need this. Because it can just get really overwhelming, can't it, George? Yeah, Speaker 1 (4:24) it can. And I think anyone listening to this, I do think before you start buying stuff for the new season, have a clear out first. Shop your own wardrobe first. Go through it all. Work out what you've got. I did it a few weeks. It was a bank holiday weekend, so I think it was the end of August I did it. And I probably need to have another. go through now that the weather is getting what I say slightly colder but it then is suddenly really hot again so I don't Speaker 2 (4:49) know Speaker 1 (4:49) what the weather's doing I know it's weird isn't it um but we've got loads of ideas haven't we we Speaker 2 (4:55) have indeed and also just to say before we get into this you've probably got a lot of this stuff in your wardrobe yeah so I don't we don't want to put any pressure on you to go out there and spend fortunes let's be smart and let's make it happen because otherwise we'll all be in prison for fraud because we won't be able to pay our credit card bills right Speaker 1 (5:14) let's go let's go okay let's kick off with um hang on let me i had a good one to kick off with Oh no, this is a funny one. How many jackets and coats do I realistically need? Practical but also stylish options. I Speaker 2 (5:32) mean, you're basically talking to the wrong two people because me and George have got hundreds of jackets. But I did have a think about this. I'm going to start us off. So I'm going to go with the first one that you need. You're a mum. because you're listening to this podcast, you need a really great, gorgeous puffer jacket that's going to take you into the colder months, especially if your kids play sport and you're on a school run. So I would go for a long one, like a duvet coat, is really great if you're standing on the sidelines. But I've got a couple of really nice shorter ones as well that kind of go with leggings a bit more and they don't swamp you if you're petite. Sometimes wearing those big duvet ones, you can literally look like the Michelin Man walking around. Speaker 1 (6:12) Exactly. So Speaker 2 (6:13) pick your battles on that one. Where Speaker 1 (6:15) do you normally get your puffer coats from? Speaker 1 (6:19) I Speaker 2 (6:19) mean, Zara do an amazing puffer cove. I've got a great burgundy one that I got last season when burgundy was absolutely everywhere. I have got a really fantastic one that's reversible and I got that one from F &F. So it's cream white on Speaker 1 (6:34) the outside Speaker 2 (6:34) and it's got like a gorgeous kind of almost like a teddy, you know, that sort of teddy material on the inside, but you can turn it. It's reversible. What about you? Speaker 1 (6:43) Yeah. No, well, I was thinking about ones that I've had for a long time and I've got quite a few from Arquette that I've had for five, six years. And actually they still look really nice. But I was going to say, I think if you look at the materials, so like it's definitely down or ducked down inside, then... You can get them anywhere. So like Zoe said, like F &F will have an amazing one. You don't actually have to spend loads, but I would look at the fabric with a puffer jacket that it actually is going to like keep, not make you really sweaty. Yeah, and also Speaker 2 (7:21) keep you. properly Speaker 1 (7:22) warm Speaker 2 (7:23) probably Speaker 1 (7:23) warm they might Speaker 2 (7:25) look like they will but actually in reality they don't so I Speaker 1 (7:28) think I think a really great leather jacket or faux leather jacket is a Speaker 2 (7:30) great piece if you Speaker 1 (7:31) want to invest Speaker 2 (7:32) I would say all saints are amazing Marks Speaker 1 (7:35) and Speaker 2 (7:35) Spencer's have got a really lovely leather jacket which is around 250 300 at the moment but you can get faux leather ones from like your Zara's or your H &M's and then I would say obviously at the moment We're just seeing that incredible kind of like funnel neck trend, which is everywhere. So I've got this gorgeous one from Zara, the red one. Have you seen the red one? Speaker 1 (7:54) Yes. So nice. Yeah. The windbreaker trend is actually really cool. And it doesn't have to only go with like leggings and sporty wear. They actually look amazing with jeans, like amazing with anything. And they're really practical. I mean, we're lucky, aren't we? Like that these trends are coming through. They're actually you can like wear day to day as well. So in answer to your Speaker 2 (8:16) question, Melissa. Bertie. Speaker 1 (8:20) No, I think five. I do too. I think five is a good place to start and be. Speaker 2 (8:26) Don't forget a gorgeous, like, full, like, long, like, wool coat. Speaker 1 (8:30) Yes. So a puffer jacket, a leather jacket or some sort of, like, bit more zhuzhi statementy jacket. A good blazer. A full length wool coat and then a more like casual, like whether it's a windbreaker or a waterproof or something like that. I think that's a good place to start. Speaker 2 (8:52) And maybe like a nice cool bomber as well. Speaker 1 (8:53) And a bomber. Maybe 10. Let's settle on 10. Okay. Speaker 2 (9:00) Let's kick off with comfortable stylish jeans and what to wear them with. Well, I'm talking to the Queen of Jean. Yes. Speaker 1 (9:08) Queen of Jean? Queen of Jean. The Speaker 2 (9:11) Queen of Jean. Is that even a thing? I don't know. It is now. Speaker 1 (9:16) Okay. Speaker 2 (9:17) Let's start with, I have just got another pair from last season, but these amazing Palazzo jeans. So they're high-waisted, they're wide leg, but they fit around the bum and they've got like... like a deep like a stitch detailing that runs down the front of the leg which makes your legs look much more elongated they're from river island they're 46 pounds and they'll go with a really nice heel or boot like a heeled boot if you go out for like a mum's night out dark they're indigo ones they're Speaker 1 (9:47) absolutely stunning love
