Speaker 4 (0:00) This is an iHeart Podcast. Guaranteed human. Lisa, tell them about our new show. We have a new podcast. It's called Don't Lie to Me. I'm Lexi Iwano. We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart. And I'm Lisa DiGiulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references, occasionally different opinions. And at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all. Now in my 30s, being the founder of New Shoes, good taste is my business. Listen on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Speaker 8 (0:35) I'm Melissa Jeltsin, host of the What Happened to Her podcast. We're kicking off the season with the Sandra Birchmore story, a case the police wrote off as a suicide in a snowstorm. Her family never bought it, and the man they suspected wore a badge. You Speaker 4 (0:51) never know who that devil is because he's wearing a disguise. Sometimes it's a police uniform. Speaker 8 (0:56) And you can get access to all episodes 100 % ad-free with an iHeart True Crime Plus subscription exclusively on Apple Podcasts, available only to iHeart True Crime Plus subscribers. So don't wait. Head to Apple Podcasts, search for iHeart True Crime Plus, and subscribe today. Speaker 4 (1:14) Hi, this is Kylie Brakeman, Angela Geritana, Jeremy Colhane, Patrick McDonald, and we're the hosts of the Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists podcast, the improvised character comedy podcast, where each week a new panel of artists discuss their craft. Speaker 1 (1:28) Join us for a panel of Eurovision Speaker 4 (1:30) participants. And we do a little Halloween sometimes. Does the Pope dress up? He winks on Halloween. He gets right up next to the microphone. I hear you can almost hear the eyelashes hit each other. You've never seen Italy so quiet as when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween. Listen to Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists every Thursday on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Speaker 1 (1:54) Hey everybody, it's me Matt and my tour is on sale now. This time it's really Christmas. You can go to www.mattrogersofficial.com. Podcasts are a visual medium. If you're not watching me right now, I am holding in my hands my vinyl. It's called Have You Heard of Christmas? The answer to that question is coming. At this time, it's really Christmas. I'm playing all over the country and in London and in Canada. That makes it a world tour. Harry Styles, you're on burn notice. I'll see you soon. Speaker 7 (2:28) Oh, I see. Bowen, look over there. Wow, is that culture? Yes. Oh, Speaker 3 (2:33) my Speaker 7 (2:33) goodness. Wow. Las Culturistas. Speaker 7 (2:37) Ding dong, Lost Culture is just calling. Couple housekeeping notes. One, Lost Culture is going to be twice a week from this week to the end of the year. Get into it. Speaker 3 (2:50) Double stuffed. Double stuffed. We're doing culture catch-ups once a week. Just me and the girl. We're doing guests once a week. Speaker 7 (2:58) But Speaker 3 (2:59) just for the end of the year, we're just trying this out and also we owe Aya Hart. Contractually. See, Speaker 1 (3:03) the thing about this is a contractual obligation, but it's also fun. You know what I mean? And when those two things can both be true, you're really cooking. You're cooking. You're winning. Some Speaker 3 (3:14) contracts, not so fun. Take it from me. Not so fun. We have two Speaker 1 (3:19) ex-NBC legends in the house ready to spill all the tea. The second thing I want to say is Bowen Yang has completed his first week as Mary in O'Malley. Speaker 7 (3:27) Yes! Speaker 1 (3:28) And Speaker 7 (3:29) I have seen it. Twice now. You're crazy for that. I know. And the thing is, I'm also richer in life and experience for that because you are so good in it. And I just, it's obviously no surprise. Speaker 2 (3:41) Was Speaker 6 (3:41) there Speaker 2 (3:41) a doubt? Was Speaker 7 (3:42) there a doubt? There was no doubt. There might have been a doubt. Shut up. Maybe within you, not anybody Speaker 6 (3:46) else. Speaker 7 (3:46) Because the thing about Bowen is he's so amazing in the room. And like now people have a chance to go see you in the room. And that's so exciting. And that Speaker 1 (3:55) is the way I say room, by the way. That's not Speaker 7 (3:57) a Speaker 3 (3:58) Long Island thing. That feels like a... Speaker 7 (3:59) Was it Speaker 3 (4:00) more Speaker 7 (4:00) room than rum? Because usually I sometimes will say in my room. Speaker 3 (4:03) Roomba. Speaker 7 (4:03) Roomba. Speaker 6 (4:05) How Speaker 3 (4:05) do Texans say roof? Roof? Speaker 6 (4:09) It's on the roof. Speaker 3 (4:10) Oh! See, Speaker 6 (4:11) it's so interesting. What do you say? Roof. Roof. Speaker 3 (4:14) The roof is Speaker 1 (4:16) on fire. The roof Speaker 6 (4:17) is on fire. So now Speaker 1 (4:18) the third thing we're Speaker 3 (4:19) going Speaker 1 (4:19) to do is we're going to address the guest that's here. So if you're sitting at home being like, why the fuck aren't they talking to Kelly Clarkson? That's what happens right now. So if you know, you know. This guest is great lore in the podcast. She's the winningest judge on The Voice, which Speaker 3 (4:37) she is returning to. Yes, yes. Clap, clap. It begins tonight as of this recording. Speaker 7 (4:44) Mysteriously performing at Stagecoach and sort of on the precipice of what seems to be a new era. Don't worry, everyone. I'm on the case. You have the right person asking the questions today. Speaker 1 (4:55) Our guest is a Grammy winning, Emmy winning, total... Just joy to be around and we're so happy that she's here again. Please welcome Kelly Speaker 6 (5:05) Clarkson! Speaker 1 (5:07) And show the mug. And I'm Speaker 6 (5:09) celebrating with the Mariah mug. Because we were talking about Mayal and all the stuff last episode, all Mariah. Speaker 7 (5:16) And you never did cover it on the show, Mayal. You Speaker 6 (5:19) know, Speaker 2 (5:20) okay. Speaker 1 (5:22) I'm going to be the only person to have qualms about your Kaliokis. No, and I'm not Speaker 2 (5:25) calling anyone out. And it's very hard to get her songs cleared. Absolutely. Yes. Speaker 1 (5:30) Yes. So there were overtures made. Speaker 6 (5:33) There have been many overtures made of many songs. And people will Speaker 7 (5:36) be Speaker 6 (5:36) like, why doesn't she cover Speaker 2 (5:37) them? I'm Speaker 7 (5:37) like, Speaker 2 (5:37) I'm a huge fan. But like, not all songs can you get cleared. Speaker 7 (5:41) 100%. Yes. Speaker 2 (5:42) Because people would be like, why don't you cover this artist? Why don't you cover this artist? I'm like. I can't get everybody to clear all their stuff, you know? Right. Speaker 1 (5:47) Which is another peak behind the curtain of this business. Speaker 2 (5:49) Yeah. Which is fine. Right. Speaker 3 (5:51) But do the Kelly Yoki's stay on for one year? Is that what the typical? Forever. Really? I'm just kidding. Oh, Speaker 5 (5:57) that's Speaker 3 (5:57) huge. I don't mean Speaker 2 (5:58) it. I guess it's like on. What do you mean? Like online? So I'm just I'm Speaker 3 (6:02) only coming out at this from the total left angle, which is on SNL. If you had any music, it could live online for just one year only. from air and then after that it was wiped across the board. Oh, I don't know Speaker 6 (6:15) if I read the fine print. I don't know if I... Me neither. You do the same. Anybody can still... I'm like, this Speaker 2 (6:22) one's fine to sign. It's like, I don't know if I know that, but I know that it... Yeah, we even did a deal, too, where it's on my radio channel, too. We have some of them on air on there. I don't know if it's only allowed to live a certain place. But I mean, I feel like, look, I tell my children, once it's on the internet, it's on there forever. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Good thing for them to learn now. Yeah. Speaker 1 (6:42) It's like a Gen Alpha lesson that Speaker 2 (6:44) they know Speaker 1 (6:44) we didn't know. Speaker 2 (6:46) Oh, man. Aren't you just so happy? I mean, y'all are a lot younger than me. But I just mean, every time I run into someone my age or older, I'm like, I could not feel more blessed to have not been young. in the social media era. Speaker 7 (6:58) Yeah. Speaker 2 (6:58) Yeah. Speaker 7 (6:59) It's tough. Speaker 2 (7:00) Because, you know, it's a learning curve for everyone. And to be of a certain age learning that would have been difficult. How Speaker 1 (7:05) are you with your kids and the social media? They're Speaker 2 (7:08) not Speaker 1 (7:08) allowed. They don't have any. They're still young. Yeah. Speaker 2 (7:10) And also, I mean, there's we I have conversations about it. I mean, it's not a democracy. It's just a no. But I do hear them. And I do. We do like have things that I'll we just have. pretty healthy talks about it because it's, it's also another layer of like, they're my kid and Speaker 7 (7:28) I'm Speaker 2 (7:29) in the public eye. So it's like, people are, you're not ready. No, you're not ready for this. I Speaker 7 (7:35) was like, Speaker 2 (7:35) you have, you see mommy being cheered all the time. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like there's a whole other side of it. That's super not great, you know? And I just don't want them to, and people are addicted. People are Speaker 3 (7:46) addicted. Speaker 1 (7:47) I, Speaker 3 (7:49) I think I've mentioned this on the show before. I've resorted to a timed lockbox that fits my phone. Speaker 1 (7:55) And Speaker 3 (7:56) that's the only way I can sit through a movie in my own home. Is that not insane? I Speaker 6 (8:03) cannot relate. I am so good at not being on my phone, except... If it's for my lover, chat GPT. Speaker 1 (8:10) Okay. So what? No, no, no. Cause I, I fell into it too. I'm I'm now, I, I unfortunately, I Speaker 7 (8:16) don't think I Speaker 6 (8:16) use it how everybody uses it. Speaker 1 (8:18) Okay. Well, how do you use it? That Speaker 6 (8:19) made it sound dirty. I haven't tried that yet. It actually has limits. Speaker 1 (8:24) Sometimes it's like, I won't tell you that. Oh, Speaker 6 (8:26) I haven't done Speaker 1 (8:27) that Speaker 2 (8:27) yet, but I'm going to do it for fun. Speaker 6 (8:28) I was Speaker 1 (8:29) seeing how far I could push it. No, I've never done that. No, I, Speaker 2 (8:32) on a designer level, I was having a hard time cause I couldn't be somewhere. I was in Vegas doing. stuff and I couldn't be somewhere when they were saying what would you like here and I was like trying to describe it I drew usually I draw like extensive plants like later I get into it there's a key there it's colored coordinated it's like Speaker 6 (8:47) but it takes me so long yeah Speaker 7 (8:49) and Speaker 6 (8:49) now yeah Speaker 7 (8:51) I'm Speaker 6 (8:51) like just send me a picture of the hill yeah and then I they show me the picture and then I put exactly what I want I it's a designer's dream okay Speaker 3 (8:58) because Speaker 6 (8:59) you yeah I'm obsessed with it Speaker 3 (9:01) So you're designing the hill for? I Speaker 6 (9:04) designed, like I got Speaker 2 (9:04) this house and it had, it just needed. Just Speaker 3 (9:07) some visual interest. Well, Speaker 2 (9:09) it needed like paths. It needed like, you couldn't get to the little orchard that I bought this house. You couldn't get to parts of it. And I was like, okay, I want. And I did it. I did a video and everything, but it's much easier to just show someone like this is exactly what I want. And you go through and you like fine tune it. And my music director, Jason, Speaker 6 (9:25) showed me. And I have been obsessed since this summer. So Speaker 7 (9:28) is that your Montana place? Speaker 6 (9:29) It's a. That is, I have a place in Santa Barbara. Don't, Speaker 2 (9:32) I'm going to sound so, look, I've worked hard. You Speaker 1 (9:35) have earned all of it. Speaker 2 (9:37) I've worked hard. No, I have a little, I've always wanted a little cottage by the sea. It's by no means a little cottage, but it is cute. Speaker 7 (9:45) It is cute. It's humble in the way. It is cute. It's presented. It's cute. Chat GPT, can you make this more humble? I always like, no, I Speaker 2 (9:52) look, I was like, I'm coming up on 25 years in the industry. And I, and I was like, I always wanted a place in the mountains. And I got, I thought I'm going to work. I grew up in a shack. I was like, what I want is I want a ranch one day and I want a little place by the ocean. And I got a slightly bigger place by the ocean that I wanted, but it's cute and it's not too big. And I have my ranch. So like, I'm like 25 years later, it happens. Yeah. Speaker 3 (10:17) You've earth and water. You've mountains. I Speaker 2 (10:19) am. almost all of Captain Planet. Like, I'm Earth, so I got heart. And Speaker 7 (10:23) you've Speaker 2 (10:23) always had heart. Hey, girl, Speaker 7 (10:25) you've always had heart. And we appreciate that. No, I Speaker 2 (10:27) do. I love, yeah, I love designing, too. I just love, like, so that's really helpful. Have Speaker 6 (10:32) you Speaker 2 (10:32) always liked that? Speaker 6 (10:33) Yes. Yeah? Speaker 2 (10:34) Because my mother, we were so poor, I would come home and, you know, And it would be, you know, we lived in either a tiny apartment or a tiny little shack in the woods. Like it was always like some tiny place, which Speaker 6 (10:44) is fine. You can, by the way, you can take pride in wherever you live and it can look amazing. And my mother would have the furniture, like if she'd have the couch just on a different wall, she'd have the TV. She would just move furniture to feel like it was new. Speaker 3 (10:57) That's a way to do it. Yeah. She would take my Speaker 2 (10:59) pictures and she'd cut me out and she'd. put me in the mountains. Speaker 6 (11:05) No, Speaker 2 (11:05) she Speaker 7 (11:06) was the original chat. She was literally the original chat GPT and Speaker 6 (11:10) like, but she would make it and I actually loved and she'd put, you know, plants and she'd change the furniture where it looked like nice and kind of fresh and Speaker 2 (11:17) new. And although it was really small, we always had our, our, you know, tiny little. lawn mowed that you could literally use a weed eater and not a mower because it was so small. But I think it's like it really taught me to take pride in whatever you're, wherever you live to take pride in it. Amazing. Speaker 3 (11:36) Was she a vision boarder? Are you a vision boarder? Speaker 2 (11:39) Oh my Speaker 3 (11:39) god, my Speaker 6 (11:39) mom was a teacher. So she had all those boards. She was very creative. They gotta Speaker 3 (11:44) make that shit themselves. Speaker 7 (11:45) You don't really realize that until you're older and you have friends that are teachers. Well, my dad was a teacher, so I kind of understood. But he was a gym teacher, so he wasn't crafting the stuff. I didn't realize until people started posting on Instagram. Yep, I'm here a week early getting all my stuff together, like cutting out the name tags. But like, it's really, you have to have an arts and crafts. She Speaker 6 (12:06) would go all Speaker 7 (12:06) out. Speaker 6 (12:06) Yeah, she was really great teacher. She was a phenomenal teacher. But also, Speaker 2 (12:09) like your dad, gym coach, that's like, I mean, I remember my gym coaches, like whatever sport I was playing, those are also like therapists. Those people, the coaches take on a lot. It's not, it's like emotional. Social interaction. It's like so much you're learning in that as well. That's a different kind of hard. Speaker 7 (12:26) You did sports, right? Love every, Speaker 2 (12:29) all of them. Speaker 7 (12:29) Yeah. Sports ball. Speaker 2 (12:31) Sports ball. Speaker 6 (12:32) I love playing volleyball. My daughter started playing volleyball this season and I was like, I'm going to be that mom at the game. The game's coming up. The first game's coming up. I'm Speaker 7 (12:40) going Speaker 6 (12:40) to be cool. Speaker 7 (12:41) Yeah, but you know what? They all say that. Speaker 6 (12:44) No, I'm going to be so cool. You're going Speaker 7 (12:45) to be involved. Speaker 6 (12:46) Man, I'm going to be so cool. I think you're too Speaker 7 (12:47) spirited. Speaker 6 (12:48) I am very. I'm very spirited. I just am very excited. Yes. Speaker 7 (12:53) So you know what? You're going to end up being Coach Kelly. No, Speaker 6 (12:56) I'm not that Texas parent. I'm not like everyone deserves a ribbon. Come on. I'm not like that. We've seen Speaker 1 (13:02) you on The Voice coming for throats. Speaker 6 (13:04) Yeah, I'm like, here's the Speaker 2 (13:05) thing. I don't mind losing. And I teach my kids, you got to learn how to lose. Because that is, even in board games, they're like, they get so mad. And I'm like, I'm not going to let you win. What kind of loser wants to win? When they really didn't win. Like what? You know, I was like, come on. So they had to, you have to learn to lose. I'm okay with that. You have to. But I want to win. What Speaker 7 (13:22) kind of Speaker 2 (13:23) loser shows up and is like, I'm totally cool if I fail. Speaker 7 (13:25) Yeah. It's boring. I would love third Speaker 2 (13:27) place. They live stakes-less Speaker 7 (13:28) lives. Who Speaker 2 (13:29) wakes up going, can't wait to have the bronze. Like, you know, no one. Speaker 1 (13:33) No one. Yeah. Anticipation trophies. Speaker 2 (13:35) Yeah. Speaker 1 (13:36) But I'm Speaker 2 (13:36) not. Pushy action. I'm just like, I do actually want them to have fun. Yeah. Because I had so much fun. Yeah. Even in the bus Speaker 6 (13:42) rides, braiding each other's hair for the game. Like, you know, listen to music. Speaker 7 (13:45) Music. Music is really good. Like bus culture. Speaker 6 (13:48) I love it. I miss bus culture. Speaker 7 (13:51) Like the, I remember that was the first time I ever heard like Bohemian Rhapsody. Speaker 6 (13:55) The first time for a lot of things in my world. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. On the back of Speaker 7 (13:59) the Speaker 6 (13:59) bus. I Speaker 7 (13:59) was like, what's Speaker 6 (13:59) happening there? Yeah. What Speaker 7 (14:01) are you talking about? Oh, our bus rides? Speaker 6 (14:02) My bus route? My kids will never ride a school bus. No. No. Speaker 7 (14:06) Just too much going on. There Speaker 6 (14:07) was way too much that I found out on a school bus. Speaker 7 (14:10) Yeah. You mean found out. Found out. Yeah. Found Speaker 6 (14:13) out Saul. Speaker 7 (14:14) Yeah. Wait. Speaker 3 (14:15) There's a Speaker 6 (14:15) lot of crazy things happening on a Southern school bus. Texas. Speaker 2 (14:19) Texas. And I was the first one to get picked up and the last one to be dropped off. I lived on the boonies. So like. So then Speaker 3 (14:24) were you friends with the drivers? Speaker 2 (14:25) Yeah. It was like, well, it was like, I was kind of scared of him. He was, he was a very big, like tall. Speaker 3 (14:33) Like he was a Speaker 2 (14:34) very, yeah, I was like, yeah. Speaker 3 (14:36) So then. I Speaker 2 (14:37) can't even remember his name, but I can see his face. Yeah. Speaker 7 (14:40) I had a bus driver named Deb and I feel like that's what bus drivers are named. That's a great name. So it's Speaker 2 (14:45) a Speaker 7 (14:45) very easy one to remember. Deb is a bus driver. Deb Speaker 3 (14:48) will Speaker 7 (14:48) never leave me. Yeah. Because Deb is a Speaker 3 (14:50) bus driver. Speaker 2 (14:51) Mine was, I think he was nice. He was just very quiet. Speaker 3 (14:53) Sure. Yeah. But Deb is a bus driver name and that's a rule of culture. That's old culture Speaker 1 (14:57) number four. Deb is a bus driver name. Speaker 3 (15:00) Now, my only bus driver memory formative was I was on the JV tennis team in high school my freshman year. And we went to Boulder, from Denver to Boulder. And then one of the kids, Alex Kessel, I think, got goaded into mooning the cars driving next to the bus. Moon culture was crazy. It Speaker 7 (15:19) was moon Speaker 3 (15:19) culture. Everybody moons. But do people moon now? I don't think people don't moon anymore. I don't think people do anymore. I'm going Speaker 7 (15:25) to Speaker 3 (15:25) start doing it. It feels very Speaker 6 (15:26) Neanderthal now, but like we all did it. We Speaker 7 (15:29) all did a bit. So now when you moon people, you've harassed them. You've harassed. Speaker 3 (15:32) Well, no. Just give me a break. It's Speaker 6 (15:34) a but. It's funny. It's Speaker 8 (15:35) a Speaker 6 (15:35) but. It's funny. So then he Speaker 3 (15:36) mooned, but then the bus made a turn and guess what? Inertia. And then he slammed his ass into the window, cracked it. It was one of the best moments of high school for Speaker 6 (15:48) me. Speaker 3 (15:49) Powerful ass moment. Powerful ass moment. Powerful ass moment. Yeah. Yeah. I think out of the three of us, I have the least powerful ass. My ass could never dent a window. We Speaker 7 (16:00) have Speaker 3 (16:00) Greek heritage. Let me tell you what, Speaker 6 (16:02) and I also, boy, living in New York, the stairs in these places. You need to get your ass Speaker 7 (16:08) back quick. Speaker 6 (16:09) I just don't even need to go to the gym. I just walk up and down. Yeah. And down. And Speaker 7 (16:15) you're good. Yeah. When I was living in L.A. for those five years, I was like, where did it go? Like my butt went away. That's not true. You've always had Speaker 3 (16:24) a butt. Speaker 1 (16:26) He can tell I am missing Speaker 7 (16:27) no meals. Come to my fucking automobile. Speaker 1 (16:30) Let him eat it with his grill. He kept telling me to chill. And Speaker 6 (16:33) that is cultural number. Speaker 1 (16:36) Number zero. Number zero, actually. It doesn't even make the list. We Speaker 3 (16:40) can't Speaker 1 (16:41) be quoting. No, we can't. But how are you feeling since everything ceasing? Speaker 2 (16:47) Great. I mean, you know, I think. It was a really hard thing to do because I do love the people. But I will say it was very easy because it was for my kids mainly. And so it's been pretty rad, man. I've never lived here. You will understand too, like being so hardcore with the schedule, right? And your life kind of, even if they're like, oh, but you only work these hours. I'm like, yeah, that's when I'm refueling. For me, refueling was being a mom. Like there was no refuel. It was like working and then there was no like off time. So it really did like, we just had an amazing time to live here. That's what I was going to say. To Speaker 6 (17:23) live Speaker 2 (17:23) in New York and actually get to experience it, not in a hurry. Like I was always in a hurry on a schedule. I just like take my kids to school. I walk, I walk, I get coffee. I walk home. It's beautiful. So great. Speaker 3 (17:34) You're going to be in LA for The Voice. Speaker 2 (17:37) I'm going back and forth. So that'll be seven weeks of. Is it a- Bi-coastal fun. Bi-coastal fun. Yeah. But you know, it could be. No, it can be. You know why? Because I have a lot of crocheting to do. I've promised blankets to a lot of people and I crochet. So I get on the flight and they all see me and they're like, oh my God, you're making Speaker 6 (17:55) another blanket. I've done it so much to where I've run into people going, oh, that's beautiful. Another Speaker 3 (17:59) blanket. Speaker 6 (17:59) Another blanket. Yeah. So it is a lot of like, I try and take it as like mom time. Yeah. Speaker 7 (18:04) Like Speaker 6 (18:04) it's like my downtime. Yes. Yeah. Speaker 7 (18:07) But it's going to be like, is the voice, is it actually you? Because I watch it sometimes and I'm like thinking about the production schedule in my head and I'm like, they could backlog a lot of this. Speaker 6 (18:17) Well, it depends on the season. So some seasons we have done all in, I think the Speaker 2 (18:22) last one with John and, I don't Speaker 6 (18:24) know, Speaker 2 (18:24) I think we did like shoot most of it. I feel like that was the season we did that. But it depends on the season. So this season, they're back to the six weeks of lives. So that's live. That's live. Yep. Speaker 6 (18:34) Which I love because you have to be done by a certain time. Speaker 4 (18:39) Everybody's like, Speaker 6 (18:40) oh, live makes me nervous. I'm like, what? That means you know exactly what your schedule will be. Live rocks. Because they can't go longer. They can't go longer. We're trying to Speaker 3 (18:48) make the Culture Awards live, but it's going to take some convincing for him. Speaker 6 (18:52) Why? Live is a different energy. Speaker 3 (18:54) Live is a Speaker 7 (18:54) different energy. And also, I like the opportunity to get a lot of stuff and then be able to cut it into something that's... really good. But why can't you Speaker 6 (19:03) do both? You can cut, make some stuff to fit it in and then you can do live around that. Speaker 3 (19:08) You Speaker 7 (19:08) know what? That's actually true. Speaker 3 (19:09) That's true. And I just think because the culture words are such a thing where everyone sees like the red carpet pics online and then they wait two weeks until they see the actual show. It's like we can really make it a moment if it's like live and then the next day or something. I mean, it'll be Speaker 2 (19:23) a Speaker 3 (19:23) crazy. But Speaker 2 (19:24) you could always film Speaker 6 (19:25) some stuff to make it cool. And then you have a backup, you know, if things go wrong because they do. I've hosted live and then. Speaker 3 (19:30) Yeah. Speaker 6 (19:31) Stall. Oh, great. Yeah. Speaker 3 (19:34) I mean, the earpiece thing is something. Oh, you're OK. with that? I Speaker 2 (19:38) hate it. Okay, of course Speaker 3 (19:40) you do. But you have to Speaker 2 (19:41) have it in certain circumstances. I wouldn't let them do that. They talked to me about it in the beginning with the talk show and I was like, unless you want me going... Speaker 1 (19:49) No. Like open mouth processing. I am Speaker 6 (19:53) way too... That's me. For sure. And sleeping, by the way. It's either Speaker 7 (19:58) that or like smiling too big to try to cover it. Oh, man. Speaker 6 (20:04) It is. Yeah. And I can't focus. I'm too ADHD for that. Yeah. Yeah. Right. I can't do that. Speaker 7 (20:09) Do you feel like suddenly there is because I also. I feel like now all of a sudden everyone is talking about ADHD. I almost think our entire like generation and community is talking about Speaker 2 (20:22) it. I think it's Speaker 7 (20:22) a lot of our Speaker 6 (20:22) environment, what we eat. I think a lot of it's been affected, you know, with that too. But yes, I am often Speaker 2 (20:28) like my nanny will be like, oh man, your son. And I'm like, she'll say something. Speaker 6 (20:32) I'm like, I did that yesterday. Like I'm like, and she's like, oh no, no, I know where he gets it from. Completely aware. Speaker 3 (20:39) I think everyone has it. Speaker 6 (20:41) It's like, I don't think everyone, Speaker 2 (20:42) because. My daughter doesn't, but my son and I are very, Speaker 3 (20:46) just Speaker 2 (20:47) very hyper-focused on, and then can be super aloof sometimes. Yeah, squirrel. Squirrel, exactly. Yeah, yeah. No, it's, yeah. But I do think it's... I don't know. I don't know. I don't because it is like even like with thyroid. Everybody's Speaker 1 (21:02) got Speaker 2 (21:02) like hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism. It's ever been. I feel like there's like these hot topics that everybody it's like now I think or whatever. And it's like, well, it might be like environmental and what we're eating. And yeah, and also the Speaker 7 (21:13) screens and everything. I do feel like Speaker 2 (21:15) not enough sleep. Our society goes, goes, goes. Yeah. Speaker 7 (21:19) I mean, it was, it got to a point for me where I was just like, why do I always need to be doing or consuming something? That's where, that's where it showed up for me is I was like, why do I always need to be like, I always need like a beverage with me or just something to constantly occupy my mind. There is no sitting and just laying. Well, there Speaker 3 (21:39) is literally, and you're going to feel very vindicated. one of the telltale signs and everyone's gonna understand that. So everyone listen. Everyone listen. Me, I had a years long obsession with watch it on 1.5 speed. Watch it on two times. Listen to it on two times speed. Speaker 7 (21:53) Oh, the like, the like speeding up the podcast. Speeding up the podcast or the video. Or the Speaker 3 (21:57) video that you're watching at 1.5 or 2.0. Cause I'm like, I'm a busy guy. I gotta, I gotta eat my meal and I gotta go. I'm Speaker 2 (22:04) actually. I'm so upset that no one told me about this and I was hosting a freaking talk show for seven years and no one could have won on that little secret. Do you know how much time it takes Speaker 7 (22:15) to prep? You know the documentary you have to watch? Could do it half the time. Are you Speaker 2 (22:19) shitting me? Speaker 7 (22:20) No, we're not shitting you. We're actually the only people who have been real with you in years. Speaker 3 (22:27) We are the only Speaker 7 (22:28) people you can trust. Speaker 3 (22:29) It would have only exacerbated your ADHD. Okay. Because that's what it does. She's like, but I could have saved time. It's just like Speaker 7 (22:36) when Speaker 3 (22:36) people Speaker 6 (22:36) watch football and it's like there's three games going on. I can't. My sister does that shit. And I'm like, what is happening? Pick one. They Speaker 3 (22:42) love it. They love it. Yesterday, Tony mocked Speaker 2 (22:45) at Speaker 3 (22:45) O'Mary. Just our resident straight guy. We love him. Three games on at the same time yesterday. No, that's my Speaker 2 (22:51) sister. And I was like, Speaker 6 (22:52) you have to do that on your iPad. This TV will have one on. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just one. We can focus. Speaker 8 (23:00) I'm Melissa Jeltsin, host of the What Happened to Her podcast. We're kicking off the season with the Sandra Birchmore story, a case the police wrote off as a suicide in a snowstorm. Her family never bought it, and the man they suspected wore a badge. You Speaker 4 (23:16) never know who that devil is because he's wearing a disguise. Sometimes Speaker 1 (23:20) it's a police uniform. Speaker 8 (23:21) And you can get access to all episodes 100 % ad-free with an iHeart True Crime Plus subscription exclusively on Apple Podcasts, available only to iHeart True Crime Plus subscribers. I'm not going to get anywhere fighting. That is wild. I learned that about you today. Now in my 30s, being the founder of New Shoes, good taste. Speaker 4 (24:35) Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Liar. Listen on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I don't really care. Speaker 5 (24:49) I'm Lacey Mosley, author, actor, stand-up comedian, creator, and host of Scam Goddess Podcast. The true crime comedy podcast all about robbery, fraud, and those who practice it. Each week I bring on incredible guests like Conan O'Brien, Iowa Debris, Lamorne Morris, and Nicole Byer. Speaker 4 (25:06) Ooh, I scammed them. What? Speaker 5 (25:07) I could talk to you for an hour. You're a generational yapper, like me. That's why I had to make yapping a job. And the scams run the gamut. I'm talking about scams from the 1800s all the way up. to today. I also warn you and keep you safe against scammers. Call your grandparents. Tell your parents to stop clicking on links, please. And now you can catch full episodes of my show on YouTube. If there's a scam, I'm here to protect you. And I'm also here to laugh with you. So if you like fun, if you like comedy, and you like learning and protecting yourself from criminals, start listening to Scam Goddess on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Speaker 4 (26:13) So we don't like to use that word anymore. Okay. Speaker 1 (26:16) A panel of New Yorker cartoonists. Have you guys done Terry Gross' Peloton class yet? No! I've Speaker 6 (26:22) been dying to. Speaker 1 (26:23) I'm so sorry. I'm seeing a reading of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Audra McDonald at the Wonderland Bookstore on 14th. Speaker 6 (26:31) That's crazy. I went to the Wonderland Bookstore yesterday and I heard Nora Jones do a reading of Zero Dark Thirty. No way. Speaker 4 (26:37) You have to come to the last bookstore, though. Kim Cattrall is reading the guitar tabs of yesterday. Speaker 1 (26:44) A panel of Eurovision participants. Speaker 4 (26:46) And we do a little Halloween sometimes. Does the Pope dress up? He winks on Halloween. He gets right up next to the microphone. I hear you can almost hear the eyelashes hit each other. You've never seen Italy so quiet as when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween. Listen to Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Speaker 7 (27:09) What's your show of the moment? What's your current? What are you watching and doing? Speaker 6 (27:13) Okay, so it's NFL season. Yeah, so you're a football queen. It's Speaker 7 (27:17) really just Speaker 6 (27:17) football. Yeah. Yeah, as well. Yeah. Well, I'm in two leagues, fantasy football leagues as well. This is a big Speaker 7 (27:23) culture. Speaker 6 (27:24) I'm a very, I'm very, I had a very sad week last week. You did? What Speaker 7 (27:29) happened to you? Well, Speaker 6 (27:31) my team shit the bed. Speaker 2 (27:33) Who's your team, Speaker 7 (27:33) do you want to say? Speaker 2 (27:34) Well, I have two different teams. I have players on it. But honestly, it was kind of... Okay, look. Did you get your Cowboys? I'm Speaker 6 (27:40) going Speaker 2 (27:40) to own this. Whatever. Controversial or not. I always go to the opening game where the Giants and the Cowboys... The Cowboys come and they play... I'm usually at that game. The Giants and the Cowboys when they play here. And I always get a suite. That's where I'm like, oh no, we're spending the money. We're doing it. I'm excited. We're here. I have never. I've done that for several years now. I have never... heard a crowd so loud the our quarterback could not even the the players could not hear the calls they couldn't they could the crowd was so loud which is a clever strategy
