I love hearing those stories, and that's a good thing because Sarah is here from Tennessee, and she's relatively new to the show. We thank her very much for that. Sarah, tell us about this haunted hotel and what happened. Speaker 3 (1:02) Okay, so me and my boyfriend at the time, we were driving from South Florida to... Houston, Texas to visit some friends. Speaker 2 (1:12) And Speaker 3 (1:12) on the way back, since it was such a long drive, we decided to stop in New Orleans and check it out. So he had grabbed a hotel travel guide from one of the truck stops and booked us a room for I think three, maybe four nights. So we went and went and did the town and had something to eat and hung out on Bourbon Street for a little bit and came back. And I went to bed before him. And I guess he had come to bed later, of course. Speaker 3 (1:49) I was rudely awakened to him on the floor, like crawling back up into bed and busting at me that I had pushed him off the bed. And it was kind of comical, you know, because he's like a big dude, you know, I mean, he was crawling back up on the bed. I didn't think a whole lot of it. And I just went back to sleep. But the next morning when we were up having coffee, I asked him about it. I was like, what's up with you rolling off the bed, you know? And he swore that I pushed him off. But I was on my side of the bed. So there's no way it could have been me. Speaker 3 (2:28) If something pushed him off the bed, it wasn't me, then I don't know what it was. Speaker 2 (2:33) Hmm. So do you think, I mean, did you know of that hotel? Where was the hotel again? Maybe you mentioned it. In New Speaker 3 (2:40) Orleans. Speaker 2 (2:41) Yeah. It Speaker 3 (2:42) was a real different kind of hotel, almost like a townhouse. It had three different, like, staircases, and each room was done in a different color. Speaker 3 (2:54) I'd never stayed anywhere like that in my life, and still to this day. Speaker 2 (2:58) Yeah, that sounds pretty unique. It was a Speaker 3 (2:59) creepy place. I wish I could remember exactly where, but that was before Katrina. Because Speaker 2 (3:05) I am wondering if it's a haunted hotel situation, because, I mean, there's a lot of hotels in New Orleans, I believe, that are supposedly haunted. And we've even had... I think we had a call years ago, and you're in the Plus Club. Thank you for that. You'd be able to access it. But there was someone in New Orleans that stayed at a hotel, and it was like, I don't know, it was one of these ones with an operator, one of the old school elevators. You needed an operator, and somehow the elevator. It had a ghost operator or something. I can't remember exactly, but there was something along that line. And that's the first thing. And it was that kind of ornate, probably wrought iron kind of place. I'm guessing it's not the same place, but it reminded me of it. So you think that a ghost pushed your boyfriend out of bed? Speaker 3 (3:56) Yeah, it wasn't me. That I know. Well, Speaker 2 (3:58) I don't want to say too much, but since he's an ex-boyfriend, maybe the ghost had good judgment. Speaker 3 (4:07) We're actually still together 26 years later. Oh, Speaker 2 (4:09) I thought you said ex-boyfriend. I thought you said ex-boyfriend, your boyfriend at the time. Now, I got you. I got you. All right. Well, then I stand corrected. Now, watch Jim insert foot into mouth. Well, Sarah, thank you so much for being on the show. I can say that. So we're so glad she's with us. She's going to start us out with a story that happened back here in the States back around 2010. Lisa, welcome to the show. Thank you for joining us. Speaker 7 (8:28) Hi, Jim. I'm a little starstruck. Finally talking to you. Speaker 2 (8:33) Believe me, as you saw, I had a garbage truck outside. I cut myself. I mean, it's not that glamorous, so nothing to be starstruck about. But nice to meet you and thank you for coming on the show. Speaker 7 (8:44) So this story happened in Providence, Rhode Island around, I think, 2010 or 11. My husband. I would go to bed at a normal time, and my husband used to stay up super, super late at night just because he was a night owl. Speaker 5 (9:00) And Speaker 7 (9:01) one time in the morning, just very, very nonplussed, he said to me, oh, I saw something weird last night when I was letting the dog out. Speaker 7 (9:16) And first of all, my husband is not at all interested in the paranormal. Like, he's not into anything weird. He's not like me. Like, I love a good, weird story. Right. He's not at all interested in any of this stuff. Doesn't care. And he was like, oh, I saw something weird last night. So, of course, my interest is piqued. And I'm like, tell me more. And he said, well, I was letting the dog out around three in the morning. And he was just standing in the back door. The dog was doing its business, and he said he sensed something above him. Like, I guess he could sort of hear the sound echoing off. You know how, like, you can hear sound echoing off things? Sure, sure. So he just sort of, like, felt like there was something there, so he looked up. And he said there was a craft of some kind, like something flying extremely slowly, very low, like right over the rooftops and the trees. Some sort of just something, something flying, making no noise and moving incredibly slowly. And he was I mean, he was so nonchalant about this that I thought it was weird. And I was like, okay, well, that's interesting. Describe it to me. And he kind of described it, but not very well. So it was like, draw me a picture. So he drew a triangle with a light in each corner. Sort of like an elongated triangle, like the Concord shape. Remember what Concord the plane was shaped like? Sort of like a drawn out triangle with a light in each of the corners. And I was like, that's weird. What else? And he was like, nothing. Then I just went in and went to bed. And I was like, okay, that's not. Interesting. So I, of course, listening to your show and being interested in a good weird story, I went to Google and I Googled it. I didn't know what a triangle UFO was. I'd never heard of a triangle UFO. Yeah. And it was exactly what he had drawn and described, making no noise, moving very slowly and flying very low. And this is an urban. It's not like we lived out in the woods. This is an urban area. So I was I just thought that was really it's weird that he drew something that lots and lots of other people have seen. Speaker 2 (11:30) That's right. We've had a couple on campfire lately. You had one last week. Yeah. Yeah. Made me Speaker 7 (11:35) call in. Yeah. Speaker 2 (11:36) And and also and I think I mentioned on the other calls, there was a big flap, I think, in Belgium. Yes. Of Triangle UFOs. And there was actually an author that I've interviewed for one of my shows. I don't know if it was Plus Club or Paranormal Podcast. David Marler was his name or is his name. M-A-R-L-E-R. And I believe he did a book on triangular UFOs. Okay. Speaker 7 (12:00) I think that thing in Belgium was like in the 80s or the early 90s. Speaker 2 (12:04) Sounds right. And Speaker 7 (12:04) that's what came up when I Googled it. And funny because my husband was not from the United States. He wasn't from Belgium, but he was from a country bordering Belgium. And I was like, ooh, is he an abductee? Were they after him? I don't know. Speaker 2 (12:16) Yeah. And it's where they're always seem to be low. They seem to be quiet. They seem to be big and also a lot of times slow moving all those things and checking all those boxes. That's. Yep. And it doesn't Speaker 7 (12:27) I mean, even a drone like it sounds way too big to be a drone, but even a drone makes a little whirring noise. Yeah. Speaker 2 (12:34) But the thing is, is that these older stories, I mean, drones weren't. Yeah. Now I can look out my window. I see something in the sky. It's like, oh, there's a decent because there were a few weeks here. I would go outside and there would be drone flying around at the same time. And I'm like, ooh, that's Speaker 1 (12:50) – Speaker 2 (12:50) I think it was a kid or someone who had just gotten a drone or something. But you could tell the user was a distance away. They weren't close. But the thing is, is that, you know, now it's like, well – but first of all, drones typically aren't massive. There's even regulations on how big they can be and so forth. Speaker 2 (13:08) And in 2010, I mean, people, I don't think people were casually flying around drones, I don't think. So I don't. I Speaker 7 (13:14) also thought it was weird. His utter lack of curiosity was just weird. Speaker 2 (13:20) Yeah. Yeah. Well, I think maybe that plays into being the skeptical thing, because maybe he kind of went against his, I'm not saying a negative, but maybe it just went so much against his worldview that he's just kind of put it on a shelf and said, well, it's just weird things happen. Yeah. You had a second story for us. You said this one was brief. You had a quick second one for us. So please go ahead. Speaker 7 (13:47) This, I think, I believe in the world of the paranormal is called a Verdager story. That's some sort of Scandinavian word for this phenomena. This happened in the 80s. I was home alone. I don't know where my parents and my siblings were out somewhere. I was home alone and I was grounded. I remember that because I was not supposed to go over to my friend's house or whatever because I was being punished for something. I don't know what. I was a teenager. So I was playing really loud music, as you do when your parents are not home and you're a teenager in the 80s. I was playing my records really loud, probably dancing in front of the mirror. And I heard... My family came home. I heard the front door open. I was on the second floor. I heard the front door open. I heard the familiar sort of stomping noises of people in the hallway and the closet door open. And I was like, oh, crap. I busted. I turned my music down and I ran over to the stairs to look down and say hi. And there was nobody there. Speaker 7 (14:49) They had not come home. So I got super freaked out because I'm like a 16-year-old girl home alone. Sure. And so I went over to my friend's house. I was so freaked out. Even though I was grounded, I ran over to my friend's house, risking it was worth getting in trouble for leaving because I was so scared. I don't know what that is, but since then I've heard that this is a thing that people experience. Somebody coming home, the familiar noise of the garage door going up, whatever, and then they're not there. And then a few minutes later, the family comes home and yeah. Speaker 2 (15:22) Yeah, you wonder if it's time slip or if it's some kind of sinister paranormal thing. And the thing that I always find interesting, and we all know this. People have a sound. You wouldn't think so, but it's almost like a fingerprint when they move around. Like, for example, I almost invariably wake up before my wife. And when she's up and about, she has a specific sound, which is different than the sound that one of my daughters has when they're upstairs. You can tell the difference, just the rhythm that they walk, their habits, what they do. And that sound, or we've even had cases where somebody said hello or something and the voice sounded the same. So it does make you wonder. I kind of had to chuckle. You were worried about playing your records too loud. Yeah, I was worried. I was like busted. I'm thinking about, you know, these days, you know, that would be pretty light behavior. Yeah, I'd Speaker 7 (16:15) have Speaker 2 (16:15) headphones on, I'd Speaker 7 (16:16) have Speaker 2 (16:16) my earbuds Speaker 7 (16:16) in. But in those days, no. Speaker 2 (16:19) But most people now, if all their kids did that was a little bit off was play their music a little too loud, they'd be pretty happy, I think. Yeah. That's pretty cool. That's pretty cool. It's a weird world, Lisa, as you know from your experiences, the experiences of your husband. These things happen. Do we have any answers? Unfortunately, I don't. But I believe it's good when people tell stories like you just did, because other folks out there like you did with that triangular UFO story say, I'm not alone. If you remember that, it was this idea. And the idea has been around for probably centuries, I'm guessing, at least many decades. The idea that you can think towards something and manifest it. Well. Chantal is back. She's been on previously. We're so glad. All the way from France. And she's going to tell her story of where maybe the secret came into play. Chantal, welcome to the show. Tell us what happened. Speaker 5 (18:04) Thank you, Jim. Okay, this is about 41 years ago. It's been a long time. I was a single mom in college with a daughter, and she was five. Speaker 5 (18:19) had art classes. I have an art degree. And we were heading just before Thanksgiving break to pick up some supplies for a class that I had. And I didn't have a car, so we always took the bus. And this is in Milwaukee and the area around Milwaukee, and it was easy to get everywhere by bus. So... We were on our second bus to get to our third bus to get to our destination because our supplies were kind of out of town. And a couple of girls got on the bus and were a little bit on the rougher side. And so when Noelle and I had a chance to move forward on the bus, we did. Well, they decided they wanted to move forward and get behind us. Speaker 5 (19:07) made us feel a little uncomfortable. So we caught the next bus and they got on the next bus and sat right behind us again. Speaker 2 (19:18) And Speaker 5 (19:18) we're saying some things that weren't very kind and making us both feel very uncomfortable. So I scooted to the front of the bus with Noelle and I said to her, when the bus stops, we're not going to get off right away, we'll wait. And then as soon as it's about ready to go, we'll just slip out the front door. And we did. And those two girls saw that we did that and they stopped the bus and they got off. Speaker 2 (19:49) Oh, boy. Speaker 5 (19:50) And yeah, it wasn't it was scary. And the one girl told my daughter, if you try to help your mom, you know, I'm going to kill you, though. I don't think she would have actually done that. But she threatened my daughter and the other girl just beat me up right out in the middle of the street. Speaker 5 (20:10) broke my glasses right off my face. And I was just out of nowhere, right in the middle of an intersection. So I'm asking for people to help. And finally people came and they tried to pull her off. And I got into a building with my daughter and all I wanted was to get home. I mean, in hindsight, I should have called the police, but I was young. I just wanted to get home. So we did, got a taxi, got home. It was extremely traumatic. So then, you know, now are still our transportation was the bus and to get on the bus. Both of us were really nervous because we
