And we've had designer debut, settle in, culture, viral shoes, maximalism creeping back into the wardrobes, embellished everything. Oh my God. And one very big announcement from the Met. we heard news about today, so you have to continue to listen to see what that news is. Ella has some big fashion news of her own because she officially gave and bought a pair of Matthew Blasey Chanel shoes. I did, and I forgot to bring them. Speaker 1 (1:38) You've seen them. Yes. They were with... So we tried to do this podcast before and I had them with me. And then I put them in my closet and I totally forgot to bring it today. And she's saving them for her birthday. I am. I'm saving them for my birthday. But I will talk about them. And we will show them. Describe what these shoes are. Okay. So I bought the New York apple shoe. It's black and white. It's a classic Chanel. It's kind of like a classic one. But the heel has an apple with a green leaf and it says the two CCs. I just couldn't... Speaker 1 (2:05) Because, I mean, it's New York, and I have a special place in my heart for New York. You do. That's the only thing so far that was like, oh, I have to have this. But there might be more. There might be more. There might be more. Paving slowly but surely. Well, another thing that we wanted to address was the word chic. Because everything is très chic. Everything is chic. Well, it could be chic or trash chic. You said? Très chic. Très chic. Yeah. I mean, I feel like basically a restaurant is chic, a vacation is chic. Everything literally is chic. So what does it actually mean, though? Like, what does the word mean originally? It's a definition that it's supposed to be timeless, elegant, something that will make you feel good when you put it on. Speaker 1 (2:52) It's not something that actually makes you feel good as a person. That's the definition of chic. So it can't really be related to like, I'm a mom to boys and that's chic. That's not the right way to use it. Putting that necklace on and making you feel good, that's chic. Yes, no, that makes a lot of sense. And can something be fashionable without being chic? Absolutely. And can something be expensive and still be absolutely not chic? Absolutely. Look at head to toe designer, whereas not true. What is it right now that's driving this? I don't know who said it and who, who made it like click, but everybody's decided that that's the thing to do it. And I actually had posted on my social media, all the things that. Speaker 1 (3:35) what chic is and like what is actually chic. Timeless elegance. Putting something that makes you feel good. The little black dress that's hanging in your closet that you've had that every time you put it on makes you feel. Those are things that are chic, right? But, you know, the pink hoodie, the head to toe, you know, saying things that are chic when they're not. I don't know where this trend is going. I think maybe it's like a moment. It's having a little moment, but I want it to go away. It needs to be done. Speaker 1 (4:02) I agree. Yeah, we are very chic, but the moment needs to stop. I agree. And now let's dive into the bedazzling of everything. And my next nail set is going to be bedazzled. Oh, okay. Sequins, crystals, charms, tassels, bags, shoes, things like, even like croissants. Stop. Birthday cake. Are you taking it off? You're taking it off. Okay, all right. Because I have tried to see if they were edible because I was like, okay, we're going to probably talk about this. So let me look into this. Are you going to? Pick one at a time and then you're going to eat your cake. Or are those edible? Because, you know, some things now they make edible. So, no, those were not edible. Kylie Jenner's cake with the embellishments were not edible. Embellish, yeah. Speaker 1 (4:47) So I feel like they should make edibles. I feel like you can do that with jello. I think they're going to start that now. Yeah, because that's the jello trends are, you know, like, that's such a good thing to sell, right? You can just make all these little, and you can eat them, and they're sugary. They already make the pearls, so why not? They make the pearls, and they have that sugar that looks like crystals and stuff like that. Yeah, they have glitter. Yeah. I mean, it's easy to make things. Yeah. Is it fun, or are we going too far? I mean, I feel like putting it on cake is kind of weird. Again, it's having a moment. It's having a moment. It'll go away. Speaker 1 (5:16) I mean, I like that stuff. I always like a little bedazzled sparkle. My kids all over it. And this is not quite luxury, by the way. No, this is loud and obnoxious. This is loud and obnoxious. I guess maximalism is back because of cheek and embellishments. I feel like those two things kind of got together because it's like too much almost, right? Everything is too much. Maybe that's what, you know, some people's way of showing their wealth, their... influence their identity that they need to keep up with all the trends. I guess that's just what life is all about. I guess it's just keeping up with all this. Keeping up with the Kardashians, right? Yes, that's what they say. It used to be the Joneses. Now it's the Kardashians. So we were really excited about Galeano coming back. I know. Super excited. And basically his whole career was going to be the theme of the Met.
