Cheers. Welcome Speaker 4 (0:49) to the Handsome Pod. I'm Fortune Feimster. I'm Tig Notaro. I'm Mae Martin. Yeah. We're together again. We're together as friends. Sometimes Speaker 6 (1:01) more than just friends. But nobody knows that because we haven't revealed it. And people aren't listening to this part right now. Speaker 4 (1:12) Oh, y'all, the hand drop went quickly. Speaker 4 (1:18) Oh, what a song. We've been working on that one for a while. Yeah, I forgot about it, honestly. We were like, remember, let's not forget to sing that song. Speaker 6 (1:27) Let us not forget. You know, I Speaker 4 (1:29) want to do it again. Speaker 6 (1:30) I had so Speaker 3 (1:31) much fun. I want to do it again. All right. We're doing it again, singing the song that we said we weren't Speaker 6 (1:40) going to sing. Speaker 6 (1:43) Let's not give them the whole song. No, just a taste. Go Speaker 3 (1:47) to our website where we wrote a song. We have a handsome band. We need to put Speaker 1 (1:52) out another song. HandsomeBansome.com Also, Speaker 4 (1:55) Tick had a great idea which we do need to implement. And this cannot just be a put it on the list thing. What is it? The Gam Cam. Oh, yes. Tick suggested that the next time we're in prison, we need to do the episode in shorts. In shorts. Speaker 3 (2:10) So that Speaker 4 (2:11) we can. actually Speaker 3 (2:12) do the gam cam cut to the Speaker 4 (2:14) gam cam Speaker 3 (2:15) and it's just set up at ground level or don't even say cut to the gam cam gam Speaker 6 (2:20) cam yes um and then just when we're telling a story it just pans down Speaker 4 (2:25) and Speaker 5 (2:26) you Speaker 6 (2:26) see my uh five o'clock Speaker 4 (2:27) shadow legs oh i love this again you guys our podcast um are you trying to hold hands again no what do you need from us I wanted to... Loaf Speaker 6 (2:37) of Speaker 4 (2:37) bread. I don't Speaker 5 (2:38) know Speaker 4 (2:38) if you guys knew this, but we won some awards. Oh, yeah. Oh, is that what this is? We're changing Speaker 6 (2:43) lives. Speaker 4 (2:47) And not clothes. We won two Webby Awards. Speaker 6 (2:50) Yes. Wow. Speaker 4 (2:54) Oh, I like this. Oh, whoa. That's good because we won it. Speaker 5 (2:59) We Speaker 4 (2:59) won. Oh, yeah. It's a boiling. We won the 2026 People's Voice Award winner. Whoa. Oh, wow. No, it says Speaker 6 (3:10) Award Wiener. Speaker 4 (3:11) Wiener. This was for an individual episode, Belonging and Inclusion. Nice. So that's that one. What does that one say? Now, Speaker 6 (3:21) wait, my question. I have won a Webby before. I haven't. You have? Yeah, I have. What is the spring? It looks like some quantum. Speaker 4 (3:32) Uh-oh. Device. What are we going to do? We only have two awards and there's three of us. Two against one. I do kind of like it. How are we going to figure this out? You Speaker 3 (3:44) have it, guys. You guys keep them. Speaker 4 (3:47) I was hoping that when I... I want both Speaker 3 (3:49) of them. Speaker 4 (3:49) What does that one say? What do we win that for? Because Speaker 3 (3:52) I want Speaker 4 (3:52) to keep my other Webby. Wait, it's the same one? Speaker 1 (3:54) Yeah, but one is like the committee and one is the people's... uh vote award oh Speaker 6 (3:59) okay commit titty committee the titty committee voted us and our big old knockers thank you webby awards that's very cool Speaker 4 (4:08) and Speaker 6 (4:10) also my webby gets lonely sometimes yeah probably wait you're gonna Speaker 4 (4:15) get both of them yeah i need to have three webby i have that fun new space behind me now i know but you guys award something Speaker 4 (4:25) I did. May gave me the picture of the Golden Girls. I think you just got to Speaker 3 (4:29) buy a slinky and glue it to a block of wood. You guys. Anyway, what's Speaker 4 (4:36) going on? Speaker 3 (4:37) Well. How are you feeling? I feel good. Yeah? You look great. You look amazing. Thank you. I've been cutting my own hair. I'm not feeling very confident at the moment. I love it. Before Speaker 6 (4:47) you go any further. Yeah. My kids just went back to school. Yeah. Is Alma back to school? Yeah, back to school. Speaker 3 (4:53) Yeah. Speaker 6 (4:54) We took them for haircuts. There's a barber near our house. And it's like a $40 barber cut. Yeah. I think I want my son's haircut. Oh, get it. And it's like Speaker 4 (5:07) a Speaker 6 (5:08) very buzzed kind of short, short. Back and sides, buzz. Buzz. I think go for it. I mean, I like your Speaker 4 (5:17) hair as it is, but if you want. Thank you. You're welcome. I want to keep you happy. Speaker 6 (5:22) You are very happy. Well, maybe I can pass around and show you the haircut. I'm Speaker 3 (5:27) picturing them going and getting the full treatment where they get like a shave and like a hot towel on their face. Uh-huh. Yeah. Speaker 6 (5:35) Well, this is the look. Yeah, it's just really short. Speaker 4 (5:42) Oh, that is short. Yeah. Very handsome. Do they like it? They are Speaker 6 (5:46) so into it. Feeling themselves. Yes. It looks cool. Speaker 4 (5:50) It's a cool haircut. Yes. Oh, Speaker 6 (5:51) wow. That is short. Yes. I'm thinking I might do Speaker 3 (5:55) it. Speaker 6 (5:55) Wait, you're Speaker 3 (5:55) going Speaker 6 (5:55) to buzz? Speaker 4 (5:56) You're going to buzz like that? I might Speaker 3 (5:57) buzz like that. Whoa. Speaker 6 (5:59) Yeah. Speaker 4 (5:59) Wait. Speaker 3 (6:00) And that's the natural hair color? Yeah. I might Speaker 4 (6:03) miss your little feathered bangs, though. You Speaker 3 (6:06) might miss my bangs? Your feathered bangs, yeah. Speaker 4 (6:08) I'd miss Speaker 3 (6:09) them. I'd miss Speaker 4 (6:09) those. Speaker 3 (6:09) My hair Speaker 6 (6:10) is Speaker 3 (6:10) turning into a big cotton poof. That's why I start cutting my bangs. Mine's so thick like that. And then I think, oh, I can just, yeah. How's my hair, you guys? Always perfect. Speaker 4 (6:20) Stunning. It's just like the award. Okay, wait. So Speaker 6 (6:27) you're happy? You're good? You cut your hair? Speaker 3 (6:30) Pretty good. I was saying before we started recording, I don't feel funny at all. Why? But I don't Speaker 4 (6:36) know Speaker 3 (6:36) what Speaker 4 (6:37) that's about. I feel happy. Speaker 3 (6:38) Very content. You feel very happy. Speaker 4 (6:41) Very content. But you're not in a silly mood. No, I am. Oh, okay. I just feel like Speaker 3 (6:45) I can't get... Speaker 4 (6:46) You're just missing the mark every time. I'm Speaker 6 (6:48) missing the Speaker 4 (6:48) mark. I'm Speaker 6 (6:48) like... You're Speaker 3 (6:49) like, hey, rubber chicken. And everyone's like, nah. That's how I feel. Yeah, when was the last time I said something funny? I don't know. Like... a while ago. You should keep a journal. Speaker 6 (6:58) Katie Kuderick. Speaker 3 (6:59) Katie Kuderick was good. You're probably Speaker 6 (7:01) still coming down. I'm coming down. That was massive. I think about it all the time. Yeah, that Speaker 3 (7:07) was a good moment. That was a good one. First of Speaker 6 (7:09) all, I think about Katie Couric all the time. And then for Speaker 3 (7:12) her new name. I hope she knows about it. Yeah, you gotta text her. I just get always when I go through customs and they say, what do you do for a living? And I hear myself say, like, Because I get nervous going through costumes and I go, I'm a comedian with a really straight face. And they're like, sure, okay. They want you to be like, waka waka. Yeah. Now, I Speaker 6 (7:31) don't know if this is in one of my specials or not because I can never remember. We'll never know. I will never know. And there's no possible way to know. Never. Who cares, right? But when I first moved to Los Angeles, I got a temp job at a commercial. production company and I was recommended for the job by my other job working at Sam Raimi's company when I was working there part-time or as a Speaker 5 (8:02) temp job before they hired me full-time. Speaker 6 (8:05) So they had heard about this company that needed somebody so they were like, oh my gosh, because we all loved each other over at Sam Raimi's company, they were like, we're going to send you Tig. We love her. You'll love her, whatever. So I show up with that vibe where I'm like, it's me, guys. And the woman who ran the company answered the door very down to business. Like FedEx goes out every day at four. This is your desk. And I was like, oh, right, okay. And I was trying to catch up and take note of everything she was saying. And meanwhile, I had come. from Sam and Rob's company where it was so, we were, we're all still very close. Okay. So, um, I'm, I'm, I'm just like, oh gosh, you know, there was no welcome loving vibe from this woman. And any time she was on the phone, she wanted me to get up from my desk, come over and stand next to her and write a note of who was calling, who was on hold. And I had to wait there. It was Speaker 5 (9:12) just it was very much like Speaker 6 (9:13) that. Speaker 5 (9:14) And Speaker 6 (9:14) just beaten down by this woman for three days. Speaker 6 (9:22) To the point where I didn't follow her rule. And I'd go from my desk and I'd be like, John's on line one. I was like so over this woman. So she comes over. We're going through these files. And she said, so when you're not temping, what do you do? And I was so excited to turn to her. But the life sucked out of me. And I just said. Speaker 6 (9:46) I'm a comedian. Speaker 1 (9:48) I Speaker 6 (9:49) make people laugh. Speaker 5 (9:52) What did she say? She was Speaker 6 (9:55) so confused. Speaker 4 (9:56) She probably didn't know we were in series. She was Speaker 6 (9:59) so deeply confused. That's really funny. It was such a joy for me to turn and dump that. I am a... Speaker 5 (10:10) joyful clown. Speaker 6 (10:11) Yeah. Yeah. And I bring Speaker 3 (10:13) everybody joy except you. When you find someone who's clearly not charmed by you in any way at all. Like from the, or like you have Speaker 4 (10:23) an Uber driver or something. There's plenty of them. Speaker 3 (10:24) Yeah. Speaker 4 (10:25) And then there, and then, yeah, that's really fun. I auditioned once to be a host of a game show. Speaker 6 (10:30) Congrats, Fortune. I didn't get it. We'll Speaker 5 (10:33) have Speaker 4 (10:33) to check in on Star Maters in a little bit. I Speaker 6 (10:35) went to the room Speaker 4 (10:35) and I'm, you know, I'm pretty bubbly. in general. Very. And so usually people are kind of disarmed by the accent and the bubbles. Yeah. There's like six people that could not have been less, less interested, charmed. I knew, I knew right away. I was like, I'm not getting this job. These people think I am the biggest stick in the mud, not funny, not qualified. Um, and, um, yeah, they were so not into me. It was, the room was just like, er, record scratch that was my record um but the irony is uh somebody else got the job and the they had me do a few of the episodes i could not have been more fun more delightful won someone a car oh you were a guest on it Speaker 3 (11:25) i Speaker 4 (11:25) was ended up because it was like a panel thing yeah I brought life to the party. Yes. Blasted them with your... Blasted them. You showed Speaker 6 (11:35) them. I showed them. They're Speaker 4 (11:37) knocking on my door, thanking me. For saving the show. Wow. And let's name the show. No, we'll Speaker 6 (11:43) not. I want to know. Speaker 4 (11:46) I will tell you guys later. But yeah, I was like, for whatever reason, whatever I brought into that room in the original meeting, they were not into. Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 6 (11:57) But I'm also not a person that's bouncing from the walls. Speaker 4 (12:00) Like, I'm just myself. Uh-huh. Which they were not into. Right. Speaker 6 (12:05) But Speaker 4 (12:05) obviously, I amp it up a bit. you know, for the cameras. Oh, I know. But in regular life, I'm just me. Speaker 6 (12:12) I'm just chill. Yeah, it's just you with your little diamond earrings on. That's Speaker 3 (12:16) right. Speaker 4 (12:16) That's Speaker 3 (12:16) right. Speaker 4 (12:16) Bye, pumpkin. Catching the light. Speaker 3 (12:20) And Speaker 4 (12:20) look Speaker 3 (12:20) at my shirt. It's Speaker 4 (12:22) onions. Speaker 3 (12:22) I thought it was onions and I didn't want to. I didn't want to presume. Speaker 4 (12:26) There might be mushrooms. Capers. Maybe there's Speaker 3 (12:29) capers too. Speaker 4 (12:30) Garlic cloves. Cherries. It's a whole smorgasbord. All I know is it's a shirt I Speaker 6 (12:34) wouldn't buy. Speaker 4 (12:37) Maybe Speaker 3 (12:38) this is why I didn't get that job. My wardrobe. They're like onion girls out, obviously. Speaker 4 (12:46) You would not buy this. I'm shocked. Speaker 3 (12:50) But so you bought it for yourself? You saw it on a rack? Speaker 6 (12:53) I must have that. Why did I bring this up? I roasted Speaker 3 (12:59) like Speaker 5 (13:00) these onions. Girl, it's so you. But picture me seeing that on a rack. I wouldn't have even seen it on the rack. You wouldn't Speaker 3 (13:10) have been in that store. They Speaker 4 (13:11) made this. Speaker 3 (13:12) This was made for me for a project. It was made for me. There's only one Speaker 4 (13:16) in the world. You requested the onions? No, I think it was a long-sleeved shirt originally. And you ripped the sleeves Speaker 6 (13:23) off. Speaker 4 (13:23) And they made it into a short-sleeved shirt for me. And I was in such a hurry to get here. Don't Speaker 6 (13:29) you Speaker 4 (13:29) make excuses. You love your onions, cherry, capers, peaches, Speaker 3 (13:35) garlic cloves. I Speaker 4 (13:37) grabbed two shirts and just hauled ass down here. It's Speaker 6 (13:41) a Speaker 4 (13:41) great shirt. for you especially Speaker 6 (13:43) with your diamond earrings there was a minute Speaker 4 (13:44) where I was like I'm just gonna wear my black shirt but may has on a black shirt and I was like well that might be weird if we're both just in black shirts so I was like I have to wear it and and here you are well if I can roast myself does Speaker 3 (13:59) it make Speaker 6 (13:59) you hungry Kind of. Who doesn't want a mix of cherries, onions, mushrooms, and capers? This might Speaker 3 (14:07) be the last Speaker 6 (14:08) day I wear it. No. I Speaker 3 (14:11) haven't stopped staring at it since you mentioned it. We want to know Speaker 6 (14:14) what fruits those are meant to be. I Speaker 3 (14:18) don't really know. Speaker 6 (14:18) Yeah, who cares? Speaker 4 (14:19) Is this an onion? No, what's the kind of onion that's small? Oh, a shallot? A little bitty onion? A Speaker 3 (14:25) shallot? I think it's Speaker 4 (14:27) a shallot. Is that a cherry tomato? That could be a fig. Speaker 6 (14:31) Is it a fig? Wait, maybe it's figs. Go Speaker 4 (14:34) to Speaker 6 (14:34) Hulu. Speaker 4 (14:36) Maybe it's figs. You might be right. I think so. Or no, that could also be a giant cave fruit. This Speaker 6 (14:44) shirt is wild. Speaker 3 (14:48) We Speaker 4 (14:49) have Speaker 6 (14:49) to all Speaker 4 (14:50) sign it. I definitely think this is why I didn't get that job. Speaker 6 (14:56) Well, if I can tell you, and I
