Don't miss Mobland, starring Tom Hardy, Piers Brosnan, and Helen Mirren. now streaming on Paramount+. President Speaker 3 (0:33) Trump endorsed Senate candidate Mike Rogers, but now Rogers is breaking with the White House, at least about the war with Iran. Here's part of Rogers' campaign ad. Speaker 8 (0:43) Michigan families are struggling with the price of everyday life. Groceries cost too much. We have to bring prices down. The war with Iran needs to end, and end quickly. Speaker 3 (0:55) Rogers adds that a temporary embargo on diesel exports would provide some relief to American families. Meanwhile, today, former Vice President Kamala Harris hit the campaign trail, where? In Michigan. She campaigned for Democrat Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed. He is Rogers' opponent. Here is Harris at today's event. Speaker 1 (1:14) I'm here to support Dr. El-Sayed because on this subject, I know he will be a champion. Speaker 1 (1:24) And I have a right to say that. Speaker 3 (1:30) Michigan Republican Senate candidate and former congressman and chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Mike Rogers joins me. Nice to talk to you, sir. Speaker 8 (1:37) Hey, great to see you again, Greta. Thanks for having me. Speaker 3 (1:40) Nice to talk to you. So how might, I mean, when you look at, I realize you're running against Al-Sayed, but having the vice president come into Michigan, does that really help tremendously? She didn't do particularly well. She did lose to President Trump in the election back in 2024, but... Is she popular in Michigan? Speaker 8 (2:01) Well, not really. She lost in 2024 by a healthy margin. But you have to remember, in 2022, their midterm, gasoline prices was over $5 here, about $5.07, and 9 % inflation. So her policies, which are supported by El-Sayed, are exactly the same. Make your energy costs more expensive. Make your utility bills more expensive. Huge amounts of government spending. Large. big government socialism kind of spending. And it reminds Michigan voters. So I'm glad she came. She can come back again. She can come back frequently. This would be great for us because it reminds voters. that what was going on under the Biden administration and those costs and penalties. And at that time, they were trying to ruin two great car companies by EV mandates, of which my opponent has called for again. Matter of fact, he even goes further, wants to ban gas engines. I mean, this has been their agenda for Michigan is a disaster and we can't afford what they're peddling. Speaker 3 (3:06) All right. In your ad, you talk about the war with Iran. Everyone thinks the war with Iran should end, you know, and people have different ideas of how it should end. In light of the fact that we're coming up on election, the Iranians are watching the election. They did back with Jimmy Carter. They didn't ruin Reagan. They waited until after the election before they released our American hostages. But how would you end that war now? Speaker 8 (3:32) So a couple of ways. One is to make sure that they do not have a nuclear weapon. That was the stated intent and goal. believe that they've gotten there. The second part is make sure that they can't harass their neighbors or kill their neighbors or hurt their neighbors and keep the straits open. I think they can do that with
