Speaker 2 (9:34) All night and all day, yeah. Speaker 7 (9:36) But how was your day? Speaker 2 (9:41) Largely uneventful. I hung out with my wife, Allie. Yes. I hung out with my dog, Chico. That's some good place shit right there. Yeah, Speaker 2 (10:16) yeah. Dream nothingness is going to the gym on the early side. Okay. And then going to have brunch. Yeah. Like late morning. So you're having that cocktail around like 12, 15 or so. And Speaker 7 (10:35) we earned it because we went to the gym. Speaker 2 (10:36) We went to the gym. And what are we Speaker 7 (10:38) doing at the gym? What kind of reps and stuff? Speaker 2 (10:40) All right, well, when you get into my split, yeah, it ranges. Like, I do strength training, like, three days a week, and then one night still. Speaker 5 (10:51) It's Speaker 7 (10:51) a pod! You're supposed to talk about it! Speaker 2 (10:54) And then I do like HIIT training and cardio stuff another three days. Speaker 7 (10:59) Okay, fantastic. Brunch and then? Speaker 2 (11:01) And then a nap. Speaker 7 (11:04) Yeah. Speaker 2 (11:05) Because we're drinking during the Speaker 7 (11:06) day. Speaker 2 (11:06) We're drinking during the day. Yeah. And then maybe. Actually, Allie and I go to matinees for theater shows often because we're just like, I don't want to be coming home when it's dark outside. I want to be inside already. Speaker 7 (11:41) 1030, I want my headgear on. I want to be fully in pajama mode. Yeah, Speaker 2 (11:49) do the red light therapy and all that stuff. Yeah. Speaker 7 (11:53) Well, I feel like we have a lot to talk about and I want to talk about your partnership in many ways with Darcy because that show was such an ensemble and you guys like really loved each other. And you can tell from the work and it's not surprising because the kind of show you made together. And, you know, Darcy has so many people that want to speak well of her. And we thought, you know, because she's such a dynamic, wonderful person, we should maybe. bring out two people who loved RC. So joining us along with Will from, well, author, producer, actor, Enneagram 8, and Broad City star, Abby Jacobson, everybody. Heavy Speaker 4 (13:06) stuff. What's your circuit? Yeah, lots of different circuits. Speaker 4 (13:15) It's constantly mixing it up. Yeah, yeah. Speaker 2 (13:17) You gotta keep it fresh. Yeah, yeah. Muscle confusion. Yeah. Lower body, Speaker 4 (13:22) upper back. Yeah, you love doing back. I love back. Speaker 7 (13:32) Okay, so you both have worked on fantastic, groundbreaking shows that have a common denominator, which is Darcy is in them. And I guess I just wanted to ask what it's like to have a person like her around at work. Speaker 2 (13:51) Well, all right. Like for, for, for Darcy and I, I feel like it was like the good place was kind of our first, like big, big, like we're here every day kind of job. And, um, We were I feel like we sort of bonded over how not normal it was, which was a lot of fun, you know, just sort of like show up and like, you know, they feed you, you know. Speaker 5 (14:19) And and, you know, Speaker 2 (14:21) it's like that you you you you you get paid enough to pay the, you know, the rent. Yeah. And like just things like that and just being like, oh, wow. And then like doing things like afterwards, like with the. like panels and all this stuff and people have watched the thing that you ran and you're like what is what is what is this like how this isn't normal at all and so like bonding over how not normal everything was um and sort of going through all of that the first time together was really like it really bonded us because I mean I think I don't know I won't speak for for DARS but I know that it was like It came at a time in life when I was like, well, you know, I probably won't get to experience that kind of job or that kind of life. And to have someone else there in the same sort of space that I could check in with was. was great. Oh, Speaker 7 (15:17) that's special. And, and also you're like, you've, you've been, you know, you've been working for a while, so it's not like your first job. Right. So you can, you can have like some wisdom around knowing that it's good. Speaker 2 (15:28) Yeah. Yeah. It's like, this is, this, that was, that was great. That was, uh, we were spoiled on that job. It was fantastic. Yeah. Speaker 7 (15:34) And Abby, what's it like having Darcy around when you work? I mean, I worked together a few times. Yeah. You've made out heavily. We have made out heavily. I Speaker 4 (15:50) think, you know, I go, Darcy and I go way back. I was thinking about this today. I met her in a UCB class, a commercial acting class, which is like not really a typical UCB class, but immediately I was like. That's the funniest person maybe I've come across. And so kind and generous and warm. And I was very new. This was probably 2007. I was like, everybody's kind of scary. And Darcy is not that way. And I think after that, we just became really good friends. And then I was like, if I ever... I mean, at that point, I wasn't like, I'm going to get a show and then I'll get to write her on the show. But eventually, I was like, this person has to be on everything I ever get to do. First on Broad City. Speaker 4 (16:47) For people who don't know. Speaker 7 (16:49) I Speaker 4 (16:49) feel Speaker 7 (16:49) like I should apologize Speaker 4 (16:49) for that to her because Gemma. What we made Darcy do? Yeah, we were like, so you're going to be the only naked one today, all day. And she's like, gotta, gotta, gotta. Speaker 7 (17:05) She's just like so. How would you describe that character? Speaker 4 (17:10) Both characters that I've gotten to work opposite Darcy, I think, are getting to amplify a part of her that you see when you're friends with her, which is this like really silly, like, like, like she's just the most fun. And Gemma is like Darcy's not Gemma, but. Gemma's like wacky and like says it all and means it and is like the most flirtatious, like sexually, like all of it out there. And that's not Darcy, but Darcy like has that. Yeah. And I think when I was got into League, I was like, Darcy gets is like this incredible actor and like has this huge comedic range. But when I'm with Darcy. She's also like the sexiest. Yeah, she has some swag. She just is. She's like so flirtatious. And so when we were creating Greta, I was like, this is a thing that I see in Darcy all the time. I don't know if the world has gotten to see. And obviously Darcy's not Greta, but there's like the heart of her. I was like, I want her to show this part of her. And then there's also like the silliness and the openness and the vulnerability that is in Darcy. Speaker 2 (18:36) So Speaker 4 (18:36) yeah. Did I answer it? I don't even remember what I asked. Speaker 2 (18:43) The cool thing, though, is it's kind of remarkable to see someone who has all those things that you're talking about and can be so incredibly vulnerable, but then is like a very easy hang and very easy to be around. Yeah. Some would even say Speaker 4 (19:00) good. Speaker 2 (19:00) A good hang. Some would even say good. Some Speaker 4 (19:03) would Speaker 2 (19:03) say that. Speaker 4 (19:03) And I'm curious if you feel this way, like the best scene partner. Yeah. Like the best. Speaker 2 (19:09) Yeah. Like Speaker 4 (19:10) giving you everything. Speaker 2 (19:12) Yeah, she's locked in. I feel like I'm talking about a college recruit. Speaker 7 (19:18) Well, I just want people to feel like they're watching their own funeral. Is that weird? Something, you know, small or big, something you want to have Darcy talk about, a story or something you don't know about her. You've both known her a long time. Anything you think I should ask her?
