And he used this special effects powder. Oh, goop. It was, it's a gel. That is supposed to make you look like you're sweating. Okay. So they use it on film sets, TV, all that stuff. And it's by Krylon, I believe. And to this day, I have one. I've never used it. I don't think I could probably use it properly, but he, it just makes the skin look glistening. Yeah. A masterclass with him would be fabulous. Speaker 3 (2:07) Okay. There are some things that we need to cover. So we saw this in the Slack. And just to give you guys a little bit of a rundown of how we shoot these episodes, we typically record them the Thursday before they go live. We try to do it towards the end of the week so we can get the most news possible, the most relevant news possible. But at times, things happen. over weekends, whatever. And so we missed. So we don't want you guys to think that last week when we were talking or on Tuesday, last Tuesday's episode, when we were talking about Tate McCray and Neutrogena, that we were just glossing over the fact that Hayden Panettiere had passed away because that had happened that Sunday. And we recorded that episode the previous Thursday. Right. Obviously this is huge news and it's so upsetting. She was 36 when she passed, has a small child. obviously has been going through it. She's been on this press tour or had been going on this press tour for her book, really talking about a lot of things that had happened to her in her life. And one of the things that made huge headlines, what was this, Speaker 2 (3:07) May? When Hayden was on the Jay Shetty podcast on purpose in May. Speaker 3 (3:12) Yes, it Speaker 2 (3:13) was in May. She opened up about how she lost her deal with Neutrogena and why. So Speaker 3 (3:18) Hayden had said that the reason why she had lost her Neutrogena contract was because she went on live with Kelly and Michael at the time in 2015 and talked about postpartum depression. At this time. This was not a very relevant topic that people were discussing, let alone on morning television. And I think Hayden was kind of a trailblazer in so many ways. But when it comes to serious matters that deserve attention, she really did forge a path for a lot of people that, in my opinion, like still doesn't get the amount of recognition that Speaker 2 (3:55) it should, right? Yeah. This upsetting news coming out today. is even more devastating because of the Lindsay Clancy trial. And I mean, that's like a whole discussion. Yes. Postpartum depression. But I think even in general mental health, the topic in 2015, no one was really talking about it at all. Speaker 3 (4:17) Okay. And I think this is a really interesting conversation now because if you go back to 2015, We have been living, what, for almost 10 years in the times of Me Too, Black Lives Matter. All these huge social movements have happened since around 2017, like time's up, right? But in 2015, I don't know that we were necessarily having these discussions yet. They weren't huge cultural movements is what I'm trying to say. Right. And so for her to go on. A morning television show and talk about postpartum depression. Huge. Yeah. Absolutely huge. Speaker 1 (4:53) She Speaker 3 (4:54) says that Neutrogena pulled the plug on her contract with them because of this, but her team advocated that you have to Speaker 2 (5:02) fulfill the rest of the terms of the contract. Right. She said that they, what would you call it? Use the morality clause. Is that what they said? Is that what she said? So Hayden said in May. that Neutrogena had invoked a morality clause in her contract in 2015, shortly after she went on live with Kelly and Michael. Speaker 1 (5:25) Neutrogena was a huge part of my life. I had the morals clauses. They caught absolutely everything and of all the things that they would fire me over, this was the last thing that I thought they would ever fire me over. And when I actually went out onto stage, It was live with Kelly and Michael. I had no intention of or plan to talk about postpartum depression. It just came up and I was just being honest. Wow. Okay. So Speaker 3 (6:00) that was a time Speaker 2 (6:02) because Speaker 3 (6:03) now I would sue you if you tried to invoke a morality clause for me speaking publicly about my experience. Speaker 2 (6:12) with postpartum depression. Right. I'm curious. I tried to end my contract over it. I'm curious what the settlement looked like, what that conversation was between Neutrogena and her lawyers, because we were trying to like track the timeline. So obviously she was paid out and served the rest of the contract for the year. I don't, I don't know the details. We don't know for sure, but it was like, she had been an ambassador for what? 10 years. Like Speaker 3 (6:36) since she was a child. Speaker 2 (6:39) And they had renewed every year. Maybe it was a year, a yearly contract that had to be renewed. We don't, we don't know the details of that, but they ended it. And shortly after that. Unbelievable. Also a lot of courage for her to come out and reveal this. Totally. And she said, I think
