And I realized, well, wait a minute. If I apply now, I'll get the certificate. Assuming I'm approved right away, I'll get the certificate about eight weeks later. And I don't know if that's good timing. So we're going to talk about the timing issues. around free night certificates and why it's so important to carefully think about when you make your application. Speaker 2 (1:56) Yeah, you know, I think that last piece is really important. And it might seem somewhat obvious to some folks, a part of that component of that lining it up with player two, but we're going to talk about also, when your certificate is going to get issued. So talk about that. Let's talk about some example problems when I say mentioned timing, right? So for instance, you got to consider your timing with when you tend to go on vacation, you know, so for instance, if you have certificates that expire in mid November, and you want to use them over Thanksgiving. to go travel and visit family. And maybe your kids are on break that week. That's not going to be terribly useful because your new certificate won't get issued until the middle of November and, and your expiring certificate will expire in the middle of November rather. So. And you won't probably be able to use it, or at least you'll be booking very last minute for your November travel. And so you got to kind of consider that whenever it is you travel, if you tend to travel during the summer, maybe you've got kids in school and you travel during July. Well, you don't want to get your free night certificate issued every year in July because that means you'll have to wait. until July to be able to book your hotel with it. So you really have to consider when you're likely to be using free night certificates year after year for years to come if you're going to keep this card long term. Speaker 3 (3:10) Right. And another timing issue has to do with getting multiple free night certificates of the same type, like so multiple Marriott certificates or multiple IHG, whatever. This could happen within an individual, like you might have a IHG personal card and an IHG business card, both of which come with free night certificates. But if they're very offset in time when they expire, it makes it very hard to use both of them, for example, for a weekend getaway. And same thing even more with if you have a player two or even. player three and player four, where each, you know, different people within the household that travel together have free night certificates.
