Speaker 2 (0:22) Hello, everyone, and welcome to Everything Iconic with me, Danny Pellegrino. That was a clip from this week's episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Of course, that was Bronwyn stealing a cigarette out of someone's mouth off the streets of San Francisco. And God bless. God bless, I mean, that woman, first of all, for giving over that cigarette. You got a lit marble light. You want it in your mouth. You don't want to be giving it to a real housewife. However, she saw that the cameras were there. And so this woman on the streets, I believe, was like, OK, I guess I'll give it to this person. But I don't know that that person even knew who Bronwyn was. And Bronwyn, of course, was being such an asshole by taking the cigarette out of someone's mouth. And I understand that she wanted one at the time. You know, sometimes you're having a cocktail, even if you're not a smoker, sometimes you're having a couple too many cocktails and you're like, I need a cig. And so I understand where Bronwyn was coming from, but like, what a mean move thing to do. And it's like, Bronwyn is completely, I don't know that she ever really had me, but she's like certainly losing me this episode. She's just coming across as so mean. And like, I don't know, they were catching them in so many lies, which we'll get to, but it was like production would just flash back to something completely contradicting what Bronwyn and Whitney and Heather and all of them said. And it was making me upset and I felt bad for Ashley Kwai. I guess we're calling her Kwai, even though her first name's Ashley. I don't really understand. They're even putting it on the screen. It says Kwai. And I'm like, isn't her name Ashley? Which I know Mary has a problem with. She's like, what, her name is Ashley? I bet you that's actually why they changed her name to Kwai on the title cards. I understand that's like a last name, nickname, whatever. But Mary, I believe, called up production or called up Andy and was like, hey, I refuse to call her Ashley. Because Mary said in the scene when she was with Angie, She's like, oh, we have a, we have already have a Brittany and now we have an Ashley. She's like, that's not going to work for me. She's like, they're too similar. And not for nothing, but like Mary, Angie, Heather, like these aren't other names that are like so different. So I didn't understand that. Like why Mary seemed to draw the line at the name Ashley in the scene. It was like, what do you mean? We have an Ashley on the cast now. She was like so insulted. I'm like, the other cast members are named Whitney, Lisa. like they're, they're pretty like basic Gen X or whatever names. And so she said the fact that she drew the line at Ashley, I was like, you're talking to someone named Angie. Like what's the difference? But they're calling her Kwai, and I think Mary called up Bravo HQ and was like, I refuse to call her Ashley, so we're going to call her Kwai. And so, look, I support it. I support it. But we're on episode three, and you guys, I feel like we're in a good place. We're in a good place. I'm not worried about this season at all because I loved this episode. I did. It was chaotic. And, of course, I have some complaints. I mean, I wouldn't be human if I wasn't sitting behind the microphone and complaining about something. Ladies, am I right? But I did love seeing them bebop their way around San Francisco on the trolleys. Speaker 1 (3:13) Fighting Speaker 2 (3:13) on a trolley. It's just what Judy Garland was singing about. It's clang, clang, clang, clanging on the trolley. And I'm happy that they're clang, clang, clanging on the trolley because, you know, that's one of my favorite songs of all time. Clang, clang, clang goes the trolley by Judy Garland. Speaker 1 (3:26) Clang, clang, clang with the trolley. Speaker 2 (3:30) I'm ready to get on the dance floor to that. They don't play that at the club enough. Maybe I'd get out to the clubs more if they started playing a remix of that. They don't even need a remix. It hits hard enough as it is. I do a workout class sometimes, and they always got a playlist. And it's like, somebody needs to add that. Just the clang clang. Clang clang me on the treadmill, and I'll be going at a faster speed. I'll hit it up to 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, whatever I need to do if I hear clang clang. So I wish they would. But it's episode three, and I'm loving it. I'm loving it. Whitney Wildrose is going through it. We, of course, know last week on the show, she sat down with Justin. And a lot of people are talking about Justin, the husband. I've been seeing things. I've been seeing things online. And people are saying, Justin, people are saying that they're attracted to him now. And I think that's shocking. But it's what's happening. It's what's happening. I'm seeing it. I'm seeing it with my eyes, and I'm hearing it with my ears. And we do know that they're splitting up. And of course, every time I see her and Bronwyn together, of course, you know that I want her and Bronwyn together. For some reason, every time the two of them are on screen, if no one else is in frame, my brain just starts singing Pink Pony Club. Speaker 2 (4:38) It's like Pink Pony Club. And I think that to me is like a sign that my soul wants the two of them to get together. But I don't think they will. But Whitney and Justin, they've broken up. And I guess, remember we talked about this. It was because the kids know about it because something about a coupon at Jack in the Box. Speaker 2 (5:00) And so something was going on with the coupon situation. But they're going through it. Then Bronwyn and Todd, they're also going through it. She's with the model now. And then we're coming to find out this week on the show, we're getting a little deeper into the Angie and what's his name? Is it Sean or Scott? Sean or Scott? Sean? I don't know. Same thing. But they're going through it now. And so they're all going to San Francisco to ready to let their hair down. And they might be barking up the wrong tree because I hate to break it to y'all. San Francisco is not the land of single straight guys. It's the land of something else. I mean, it's the land of single gays, and God bless them for it, but I don't think they're going to be finding lots of, excuse my language, lots of dick over in San Francisco. They're going to be clang, clang, clanging on the trolley, singing Pink Pony Club to each other, and maybe going to a lesbian bar, but I don't think they're going to find lots of single men over there in San Fran. Although, I guess Bronwyn said she met Todd over there. They do have all the... all the technology people there aren't, isn't that like Silicon Valley and stuff? So, but I don't know that. I don't know. I understand that like Bronwyn did find Todd there and like made a bunch of money and all that kind of good stuff. But I'm, I don't know about that. I'm not, I've never been one to be like, Oh, I want the tech bro. Especially now these days, like the idea of like dating a tech bro from Silicon Valley makes me shiver. Silicon Valley is in San Francisco, isn't it? Am I just a dummy? It is there, right? I hope it is. Speaker 1 (6:27) I don't remember what town we're in. Speaker 2 (6:30) Okay, okay. We open this week, though, with Ashley Kwai on a motorcycle. And she's going shopping with Whitney. Or no, she's going to eat with Whitney and Bronwyn shows up. Meanwhile, Lisa and Heather, gay, are over there shopping. Despite the fact that those two hate each other, I'm like, why are Lisa and Heather shopping together? Like, I don't understand. I know they sort of made up, but I still thought even though they made up, It didn't feel like a real makeup. It felt like, oh, we're doing this for the show. And now they're all of a sudden shopping together. I'm like, what? And Heather just keeps, I feel like she keeps jabbing at Lisa Barlow, jabbing at my baby gorgeous. And I don't like it. Lisa says something about how she gets invited to the Oscars. And this comes up a bunch of times throughout the episode. And I have a lot of thoughts about this. And I think one of the things that people don't realize, I understand they're in Utah and they're sort of like entertainment industry adjacent. But the Oscars is actually like not. The Oscars is an event that people want to go to if they make film. It's not the kind of fun. It's not the Golden Globes. The Golden Globes is where you get drunk and eat. The Oscars is actually a very boring telecast. If you're a movie film lover, I almost said snob, but I'm a snob or a film lover. Of course, I would love to go to the Oscars. I love film. But if you're not a big movie buff, It's actually like even if you are a movie buff, if you're not nominated or involved in the movies that are nominated, it's actually probably the worst event to go to because they don't even have – you're not even sitting at tables with people. You're just sitting in a theater, but you're facing forward. And so the Golden Globes is the one – it's not as prestigious of an award, but it's the one where everybody's drinking, they serve food. Or back in my day, back in my day, they used to have something called the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards. and that was the kind of thing I would want to go to. Or a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, Rosie O'Donnell hosting, get slimed. That's what I want to be at. No one wants to be at the Oscars. And so when Lisa was saying, oh, I get invited all the time, it's like, I'm sorry. I actually, I don't not believe that Lisa was invited. And it's also like not something that I think a lot of people are interested. It's like a hundred hour telecast. And you mean to tell me like Heather Gay is really interested in like the best lighting for a motion picture? Or, I mean, of course, those awards are very important and they need to be given them out. But it's not like the most entertaining for unless you're like in the industry. Does that make sense? And so they all were hating on Lisa for saying that. And I'm like, I kind of thought it doesn't like surprise me that Lisa would get invited to something like that. Because I think. Unless you're in the movies nominated, you're not really like, oh, I'm dying to go to that. Because it's like a long, boring telecast. And it's very stuffy because it's the most prestigious one, of course. Of course everyone wants an Oscar. But to just be sitting in the audience for the Oscars, it's like nobody wants to do that. Anyway, they're shopping. Bronwyn's excited about meeting Kwai and getting to know Kwai. But she's worried because Kwai is friends with Lisa. And these women all hate Lisa. And Bronwyn, I think, is still holding on to the grudge. Now, I gotta give credit where credit's due, or I gotta cause it as I seize it. Now, I understand why Bronwyn's still mad at Lisa, because she did say her husband has gout dick. Speaker 2 (9:51) Remember she said, was it last season? She's like, your husband's got gout dick or a gout dick or something. It was something about his nether regions having gout. And that's not something you want to hear about your husband on a public platform on camera. And so I understand that, but Bronwyn's now divorcing Todd. And so I kind of feel like Bronwyn needs to get over it. It's like, well, you're divorcing him and you're going out with this male model. You should get over the fact that your cast member called your husband gout dick. But she does have reason to be upset with Lisa. So I'm not, I gotta be honest about that. But Kwai says, don't piss her off. And Whitney's like, yeah, tell everyone why they shouldn't really piss you off. And Kwai's like, I'm not gonna say it. Whitney's like, she did something to her husband, Stephen, and it's dirty. And they didn't tell it. And Whitney's like, I'll never tell it. But she did tell it. Guess what? She told it to Angie. And Angie tells us. Now, Kwai already hates Angie. Because Angie said Kwai was being too aggressive as the new girl the last episode of the show when they were all out at a restaurant or whatever. And then Kwai also said she's scared of Heather, called her Diablo. She didn't call her diabolical. She just said, as she was talking about Heather, she says like, oh, Diablo. I don't even know how, it was like kind of weird how she said it. But she wasn't really talking shit so much about Heather. They were like asking her, what do you think of everyone? And then they completely threw Kwai under the bus later in the episode. It really pissed me off. I was feeling bad for Kwai. I don't know. She's a new cast member. They were asking her her opinions on the other women. And I just felt like for them to immediately go. And obviously that's the whole conceit of this show is talk behind each other's backs. And then they go and bring that information to the person. Then there's conflict. Then there's resolution. That's the... I was going to say step and repeat. That's the rinse and repeat. That's the word I'm looking for. But... They rinse and repeat. That's what they do every episode. But Kawhi, I felt like she wasn't really talking trash. She was just sort of answering. answering them. And meanwhile, Bronwyn was wearing a throw blanket. Did anyone catch this? I'm sorry. I understand Bronwyn's... I just stuck up for Bronwyn, first of all, so let me just get that out of the way. Now I'm going to throw her under the bus because I understand that she's wearing designer clothes and her clothes are very expensive. However, some of them, I'm like, what the fuck are you wearing? And again, I don't know. Look at the outfits I have. But to me, at least from where I'm sitting, from my... TJ Maxx filled Marshall's filled closet. Speaker 2 (12:26) I'm like, what the fuck are you wearing? Because she's at this scene in the beginning, she was wearing what looked to be a throw blanket that was repurposed into an outfit. And it might've been some big, I'm sure it was some big designers, probably very expensive. I get that. But just because it's expensive and stuff, I'm like, doesn't mean you need to wear it. And furthermore, you really could just like, I have afraid, I shouldn't say this, but you guys know, I've had, I had my Honda Ridgeline for basically my entire life. Like I had, I just recently got rid of that, like just a couple months ago. And in the back of my truck, I always had under the truck bed, I had this frayed blanket that said Cleveland Indians. And it was like very colorful. It was in the back trunk of the thing. And every time I saw Bronner, I was like, it looks exactly like that blanket that I had in the truck for my entire adult life. That was just back there. Initially, it was back there because I think when I got the truck, Back in Ohio, this sounds very Ohio of me, but in Ohio, sometimes I would drive my truck to like a drive-in movie theater or park or whatever. And friends and I would get in the truck bed. You'd put the blanket down or you'd get in the truck bed and cover up with the blanket at night. And it was so cozy and whatever. But I had that blanket in there forever. And it was just a cheap Cleveland Indians blanket. And it was there forever. And I just recently saw it again because I was cleaning out the truck as I got rid of it. And I was just thinking of Bronwyn. I just saw Bronwyn and I was thinking of that blanket. I was. And I don't understand some of these outfits. Even that other, later in the episode, she had that pot of gold. The Judith Lieber thing. She was so proud of it. And I'm like, it's, I don't know. And I like a kitschy thing. But sometimes I just want her to just not be kitschy. It feels like every single outfit feels like a costume. It doesn't feel like a designer-y thing. It feels like costume-y. To me, at least. But again, what do I know? Speaker 4 (14:25) What do I know? Speaker 2 (14:26) Then Bronwyn says she lived in San Francisco. She felt like anything was possible there. And she wants to channel that on the cast trip to San Fran Let Loose. Mary, meanwhile, she's back on this week. She's setting up the charcuterie. It's two weeks after Robert's, I believe after Robert Jr.'s memorial. She seems to be in good spirits. She's compartmentalizing things. She says, I got to keep going. She says, always look at the light. Don't let the darkness creep in. That kind of touched me in a way. And I felt, I feel so bad for Mary. And I, of course, never wish, I don't think anyone in general should ever criticize someone's grieving because I think people grieve. all the time differently. I feel that way about funerals too. I know I have people in my life, I know people who they don't want to go to a funeral. And then some people who feel like, oh, if you
