Speaker 3 (0:09) confused about Brandon because I met him at Speaker 2 (0:13) Sundance Film Festival. Okay. And Speaker 3 (0:15) we hung out. Wow. And she told me like, please don't tell anyone. Then a week later, there's a press release and she's like, oh, that's because something leaked and I had to make an announcement. I'm like, what? Speaker 6 (0:25) Well, yeah. Is it a secret or is it a press release? I absolutely do not believe a word that comes out of Bronwyn's mouth that the paparazzi were going to release this story that she didn't want while she's still married to Todd. No, she probably called the paparazzi herself. 1-800-TMT. Speaker 2 (0:44) Hello, everyone, and welcome to Everything Iconic with me, Danny Pellegrino. That was a clip from this week's episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. We are back, baby. And you know what? I've got... Speaker 4 (0:52) I have the f***ing chills. That's Speaker 2 (0:54) right. Salt Lake City's back. And I'm feeling so good about where we're at at Bravo. I'm enjoying The Real Housewives of New York. I'm loving Salt Lake being back. Potomac is on the horizon. It's coming in October. And I may or may not have heard her... been privy to the fact that it's a fantastic premiere. And so I feel like we're in a good spot. Ultimate Girls Trip is giving the nostalgia and Luann being nuts. I mean, we're in a good place right now with Bravo. And Salt Lake City, obviously last week's episode, we were dealing with everything going on with Mary and her son's tragic passing and that. I think was handled so beautifully in the premiere episode. And this episode, it seems like we kind of are getting back into the real housewives of Salt Lake City chaos. And, you know, I used to call Roni, Roni Whiplash, because the storylines were just coming and going and allegiances were changing, alliances were changing. And the same thing happens here on Salt Lake City. It's like every single time. I turn on an episode of Salt Lake City. I never know whom, whomst is going to be fighting whomst. And now it seems like they're all turning on Bronwyn. I played that clip. They all have reservations about Brandon fella, the hot male model that Bronwyn's allegedly with. Allegedly. Speaker 2 (2:04) Because it seems like what they're trying to tell us, not only the cast members, but production by focusing on what the cast members are saying, are trying to tell us like, hey, look at this red flag over here that Bronwyn's waving around at Sundance and wherever else she's going to, and how there's all of a sudden press releases about the boyfriend. And you know, I have problems with that. I talked last week or another episode on the show about how Heather Gay has got that fella, Trip, who looks like one of the extras on Sons of Anarchy. He is showing up to premieres with her. And it's not just one. I saw it again. I mentioned it last week, but then I was seeing it again on social media. They were at some other event, red carpet thing together, and he was being photographed on the carpet. And I have my doubts, like Meryl Streep in the movie Doubts. I have my doubts about that one too. But they keep saying, when you're starting to date someone, in no normal relationship are you just putting out press releases or things like that about it. That kind of stuff is very strategic. So there's a lot of strategery going around with the people who have these boyfriends on these shows. And I don't trust it. I don't know who to trust her. But Bronwyn, you know, I've always had my reservations with her. But it seemed like everybody last season was loving Bronwyn in the cast. Like they were all up her ass, I felt. And now it's like, oh, they're turning again. And it's like, of course, the Salt Lake City women are turning on Bronwyn because they turn on each other at the drop of a hat. Literally. One minute they're sisters, and the next they're on a hot mic calling each other a garbage whore, say they fucked half of New York. And so you just never know which way they're going to zig when they zag. Speaker 4 (3:32) And you don't know. You Speaker 2 (3:33) don't know. Now, on the Roni recap this week, I mentioned I have Speaker 4 (3:37) a Speaker 2 (3:37) new book coming out. I'm just going to briefly mention it again in case you didn't listen to the episode. It's coming out May 4th of next year. It's called Just My Luck. The cover was just revealed. Pre-orders are live. So if you can and you want to pre-order. I'll put a link in the episode description. It's in my bio on social media, all that kind of good stuff. But it really would mean the world to me if you could pre-order. And it's really funny and hopefully a good escape. I know lately we all need some laughs, right? Like we all need to feel some heart and some laughs. And that's what I really tried to do with this book. And what I tried to do with all of my work is like provide a little bit of an escape for people. So I hope you'll enjoy it. It's funny, silly parenting stories, the journey to parenting. and nostalgia, pop culture, all that kind of good stuff. And I really hope you enjoy it. Just my luck. May 4th, 2027. Pre-order now wherever you get your books. Bookshop.org, Barnes & Noble, Amazon. I don't care. Wherever you pre-order it, it's a good thing. We love it. Books a million. All of them. I could name 100 bookshops here, but I won't. Moving on, because I know you're annoyed. I hate promoting myself too. Believe you me. I know it's annoying to hear. Sometimes I think like I can feel the eye rolls when I'm saying something on the show. about like, do this or do that. Like, I don't want to ask that. But like, what am I supposed to do? And then I got the publisher up my ass saying, you got to promote it, you know? God bless them. But teams of people who work on these things, you know, there's the cover designer, there's the editors, I mean, all these people. And so, yeah, you want to, not just for me, for them too, but everyone's up my ass. And you guys move the merch. So anyway, just my luck. Please pre-order, please. Yeah. There'll be an audiobook announcement, hopefully at some point. We are doing an audiobook, too. But anyway, moving on. Whitney. We open with Angie, and she's with Electra, and they're making cookies out of a horse cookie cutter. And you know, cookie cutters are getting out of hand. And I've mentioned this before. It's something I've discussed ad nauseum. But when you go to the store, especially around the holiday season, you see all these cookie cutters. Sometimes they have a bin at the—you go to a little market or something, they've got a bin of cookie cutters. And you're like, who's making cookies out of a cat's ass or a horse? And we love horses. My niece is a little bit of an equestrian. She's a young gal, but she's 10 now, and she's equestrian, basically. When I go home to visit in Ohio, I get to see her ride the horses. And I love seeing it because she's so good, and she has like this great, I don't know how we got talking about this, but she has such a great relationship with the horses. And I do think horses, don't they have equine therapy? I'm highly allergic to horses, but when I was in high school, my friend Beth and I did go take sign language classes at a horse barn, which is a tale for another time. But for some reason, we did independent classes out of a horse barn. And it was very tough for me because I've got an allergy. But I do think equine therapy is important. Anytime you can connect with animals, and to be honest with you, animals are better than people. We all know that. But I don't think we need to be making like, we got these horse cookie cutters and stuff. It's like, they need to just cool it with the cookie cutters. And I think it was just like a brief, it wasn't in a brief, I don't even know if there's a full scene there, but it was like Electra and the horse cookie cutter. And I just quickly wrote it in my notes. I'm like, quick. Speaker 2 (6:44) Then we cut to Whitney cleaning out her closet. And we see Lisa then meeting with this new housewife, Ashley. That's right. We have a new housewife named Ashley. And I'm very excited about her because she's not only friends with Lisa Barlow, but she's also friends with Whitney. And Whitney and Lisa Barlow hate each other. So I'm wondering, by the end of the season, are Whitney and Lisa going to be friends again or pretend to be friends again? And then because of Ashley bridging the gap, or is Ashley going to drop one of them like a bad habit? Who's she going to side with? Is she going to be with Lisa Barlow? Is she going to be with Whitney? I don't know. We're going to have to see. And go to BravoTV.com for more information. But for now, I'm excited to meet this woman. She's building a big-ass new house. She was Lisa's glam person and allegedly one of the first to taste Vita tequila, which, look, I don't know exactly. I don't even know what Vita tastes like these days. I don't know. I haven't heard much about Vita Tequila. Obviously, from the show, we hear about it, but I've never tasted it out in the wild, and I need to because I love my baby gorgeous. But I don't know what an alcohol would taste like in the testing phase for a Real House Life because I lovingly say all of the Real House Life's liquids that they've come out with, whether it be Shannon's Lemon Shots, Ramona's Pinot, really, it runs the gamut. Even the more successful ones, the Skinny Gales. They all really, unfortunately, I hate to say, taste like piss water. Almost all of them exclusively. I don't know that any of them don't taste like piss water. Essentially, what these housewives have been doing to us for the first couple of decades of this franchise is pissing in a bottle and saying, here, buy it for $40 on the shelf, and I'll come sign a bottle in your hometown, but it tastes like shit. And that's what they've been doing, and they've been getting me. They get me left, right, and center. I buy a bottle, and I'm in every single time. I've bought in all of them. I've had almost every flavor of Skinny Girl. I've had, I've bought, what, a Vanderpump Rosé. I've bought really all of them. The one I haven't tasted is Vita. But Vita, I think the reason why I would have a little more faith in Vita tequila is because it was originated before she was on Housewives, correct? And so maybe there was some effort and care. But then when I was thinking of the other Housewife liquids, I was thinking, God, imagine those in the testing phase. Could you imagine being one of the first to taste the Skinny Girl Cosmo or Ramona's Pinot? Those people probably deserve compensation just for whatever their bodies have gone through. And I know we're all on a health and wellness journey, but... I don't even want to know what those would have tasted like. And so I hope all the bodies are recovered from the testing phase of those other alcohols because think about it. Think about it. Just being the first to taste one of the housewife liquors. The bodies are going through it those days. I can only imagine what happened to those toilets of those people. Anyway, moving on. Ashley's the new housewife. She reveals five years ago she married her big sexy. She calls him her big sexy, which always kind of weirds me out. Unfortunately, I do have an allergic reaction every time I hear one of the housewives describe their husbands as like, you know, big daddy or big sexy or... You know, that kind of thing. It makes me a little uncomfortable because I just don't subscribe to that. But she has her big sexy Steven. And she says right now the husband's in Florida 80 % of the time. So she says when he comes through that door, I'm like nipple, nipple, nipple because I love his nipples. So Ashley loves his nipples. And when she was saying this, it threw me for a loop. And it made me excited about where we're going with her because I thought she was going to say that. When he walks through the door, he's in Florida 80 % of the time. And then when he walks through the door from Boca, I thought she was going to say, and forgive me for saying this, it's a little uncouth of me, but I thought she was going to say, my nips are hard when he walks through the door, which again, is not maybe appropriate. Of course, it's crass, but that's what I was expecting her to say. But instead, she's like, when he comes through that door, I love his nipples. Speaker 2 (10:54) And I thought, what? Like, what an odd thing to say. And I love it. And that makes me excited. Like that one line of dialogue, one line of dialogue made me think, okay, we got her. We got ourselves a good housewife. She's in. And I do feel bad that they gave her a snowflake or whatever they hold in the opening credits, because I feel that Brittany Bateman maybe should have been given that. She's been giving us a lot of moments over the past couple of seasons, even though I think the audience mostly finds Brittany insufferable. And I understand that. We all do. But she has brought a lot to the show. And so I feel a little bit bad that she's not a main cast member and this Ashley is. Ashley, though, is her last name Kwai? I hope I'm saying that right. Kwai? Because Lisa called her, I think, Kwai at the beginning. Lisa also said something about the glam. She's like, when she used to do my glam, it was like much easier before Kylie Jenner. And it's interesting to me because, yeah, glam, 20 years ago, if you were to say, I'm getting glam. Like, I remember, I think. I don't know, homecoming or prom, some of the young gals would do, get a makeup person or something. And what that really meant was like five minutes. Or I remember my friend Beth, when she got married, I mentioned, just mentioned her earlier. Beth's getting a lot of shout outs this week. Hey, Beth, love you, B. But when she got married, I was in her wedding party and the gals had the makeup person. Of course, then I was with the guys most of the time, but then I went over to the gals room and I was like, hey, do you want to put some cover up, some rouge, some blush
