Speaker 2 (0:09) It's my party. What do they do? They just push me out of the way, push me down. You go in the end. And you know, I'm upset. I'm really upset. Speaker 2 (0:21) Oh, don't cry. Don't cry. I expect to be respected in New York. I made, I levitated. I don't get really upset about things, but this really is upsetting to me the way it was treated in my own town. Speaker 1 (0:37) Hello, everyone, and welcome to Everything Iconic with me, Danny Pellegrino. That was a clip from this past week's episode of The Real House's Ultimate Girls Trip. Now, I know on the podcast this week, we're going to be covering this week's Roni. But that's Roni adjacent. It's obviously Luann. I don't know what is happening with Luann on Ultimate Girls Trip, but certainly something is happening with Luann on Ultimate Girls Trip because it's like everything she's saying is crazy. And she needs to be the center of every photo. People were calling her out about being the center of every photo. And then she was upset that people were treating her poorly in her own town. Like she was so mad. That was a clip from when she gets on the phone with Dorinda. And Dorinda is just FaceTiming with her. Obviously, Dorinda was probably just watching an episode of Law & Order. And then Luanne FaceTimes her on camera, and she's got sunglasses on in the morning. She looks like she hasn't slept in days. I mean, I don't know. Luanne is obviously beautiful, but between the vocals, the sunglasses, everything, it's like, oh, Luanne, I don't think she's seen the top of a pillow in a few days. And if she has, she certainly wasn't sleeping on it. She was just doing something else. It's like the way that she's acting, and I don't know if we're supposed to say how we're noticing she's acting or not, if it's appropriate, and I don't want to speculate. Of course, I'm no doctor. I'm no, I know someone who can be diagnosing, but I am a man with a microphone, unfortunately. And of course, we all know that there should be less men with microphones, so I'm going to try to keep my mouth shut and try to shut my gullet. But I do think something is happening with Luanne that we, I don't know what's happening with her, but she calls up Dorinda. And Dorinda's FaceTiming, again, from her house, from probably Bluestone Manor, waiting for the rest of the cast to arrive to Bluestone Manor. Because on the finale, all the cast of the house lives are going to be at Bluestone Manor. And so Dorinda's sitting at Bluestone. She's wearing a SpongeBob SquarePants sweatshirt. And Luanne is just talking over her. And Luanne's just monologuing at her about how upset she is. And it's the funniest thing to me. But it's also like... It's very kind of troubling. And I'm curious about that show, The Golden Life, which is going to be on E! in October, which I heard is good and I'm excited to watch it. But it's like, what Luanne are we going to get? Because I've seen so many iterations of Luanne and it's like, are we going to get this version of Luanne, Ultimate Girls Trip, where she's clearly not sleeping and maybe may or may not be partaking in other things? Delusion being top of that list. But I don't know if we're going to get that Luanne. Are we going to get the Countess who's... proper etiquette and everything? Or are we going to get someone in the middle? Like, I don't know. In the previews for that Golden Life show, it seems like we, it doesn't seem like this version of Luanne. So it's like, what was going on here? And then also like, it's so funny to me, like that she had to be in the center of every photo because don't we all sort of know friends like that or have friends like that? Sometimes I think, I'm not someone who wants to be in the center of the photo, but I do think I know my angles. And so sometimes I might be, I might want to be on like. If you're facing the camera, I might want to be on the left. It's like Mariah Carey's got her good side. Or Sheena Shea. Both equal talents in my mind. Speaker 1 (3:38) Not exactly. That's blasphemous, actually. Obviously, Mariah Carey is more talented than Sheena Shea. But Sheena does offer things to the culture that I think are necessary. Anyway, that's not the point. The point is, we all have our angles. And so that's one thing. But Luann, when they showed the montage of her trying to get front and center, and she's so much bigger than all the other women and taller and statuesque, I should say. And it would piss me off if we were doing cast photos every second at every one of these stops that they're going to. And that show to me, it's like so chaotic, that Ultimate Girls trip. And it's frustrating to me because I think it should be more episodes because sometimes I'm like, I'm getting the whiplash. We're just in Miami and then all of a sudden we're in New York, then Atlanta. And we're going so fast through these cities and I feel like there's a lot being cut. But then we're also subjected to strange Luann moments. It felt like there was 10 minutes of Alex McCord doing interpretive dance. which reminded me of that Freddie Prinze Jr. scene in She's All That when he's got the hacky sack. Remember he goes on stage, and it's supposed to be so artsy on stage, Freddie Prinze Jr. just doing the hacky sack work. And so we had Alex McCord just putting shoes on her hands and then stomping around doing an artistic interpretive dance. And I love seeing Alex McCord, but then it's like, I want to hear what's up with Alex McCord. No offense, I love seeing that interpretive dance. I could have also seen 10 more minutes of that. But they need to balance it with me understanding where is Alex at in her life? Because Alex appeared in another episode of Ultimate Girls Trip or another season that is being buried because they're not airing it because of that lawsuit that's happening. So I'm assuming we would have caught up with her on that. But since they're not airing that, then at least catch me up with what's going on with Alex McCord. Because we're just seeing her with shoes on her hands. And it's like, I don't even know where she is. And then I think maybe there's some editing stuff because they cut out everything with Jill Zarin. Speaker 1 (5:36) And so I do blame Jill Zarin for a lot of these editing problems. Problems. If Speaker 3 (5:42) you got a problem with me, it's your problem. Speaker 1 (5:45) It's my problem that Jill Zarin fucked up our show. Because I feel like the New York cast, much like in the other cities, like when we're in Miami, we see the Miami girls sitting and talking about their show and catching themselves up. But on New York, it's like they had to edit around Jill Zarin's dumb ass. And so we can't even, they barely showed her. which understandably so, but they shouldn't have invited her in the first place. I know she got publicly canceled and all that kind of stuff, and she had to get fired from the Golden Life, but I feel like Jill Zarin screwed it up for us. And I don't know that to be true, but that's what I'm taking. But it was funny how they edited her out. They gave her one little title that said Jill Zarin, and then that was it. I don't even think she spoke on the episode. But I would imagine, and I did see a... a still shot or a clip or something where it was like the New York women all had gotten sat down. It was like Carol, Dorinda, Jill, Countess, all the New York women were sitting down. I saw this and they never showed it on the episode. And I'm assuming it's because of the Jill Zarin of it all. But anyway, the, it's like so frenetic and it moves so fast. And then it's like one minute we're watching Teresa play the saxophone. And then all of a sudden, Alex McCord's got shoes on her hands and then we're moving to a new city. And it's like, where, where am I? Where am I? And then we're witnessing a 10-minute speech from Countess Luanne where she's just blabbering and blabbering. And it's like really crazy. And I love it. I do love it. Unfortunately, I love it. I am also obsessed with, and I know on this podcast even, I had to give up recapping The Real Houses of Orange County because it was so miserable. And at the beginning of Ultimate Girls Trip this season, Vicky was so miserable and kind of ruining the vibe. But now I'm like sort of obsessed with her vibe because we have a bigger villain in Luanne. So like, I am loving at this point in time on Ultimate Girl Strip watching Vicky be so disgusted by Luanne's cabaret. It's like Kodo does not want to watch the cabaret. Kodo is not interested in any sort of cabaret and all cabaret is interested in is cabaret and not Kodo. And I love that dynamic. It's like really making me laugh. And I'm not saying I like Vicky all the time, but I'm just saying in these last couple of episodes, the way that she's bonding with the other women over their... mutual hatred of Luanne is fun for me. It's fun. And to be honest, I was impressed by Teresa playing that saxophone. Was it a saxophone or what was it? A tuba? I don't remember what it was. Speaker 1 (8:08) with a rain stick. I don't know what she was playing. I think it was a sax, right? I'm kind of obsessed with the idea of that. It's like so unexpected to me. And she was just dressed as Cher playing the sax. I'm like, yeah, that feels right. And then Lisa Barlow rapping. It's like so chaotic, that show. I'm going to be so depressed when it's over. Speaker 2 (8:28) Even Speaker 1 (8:28) though I have issues with it, but I still love it more than anything on TV. I put it on and I'm like in bliss. I'm looking around and... I'm like, is everybody watching what I'm watching? Because it's so crazy. It's so crazy. Anyway, we're going to talk about The Real Housewives of New York, episode four, which I'm also enjoying. Speaker 2 (8:46) How is this happening? Speaker 1 (8:49) despite the state of the world and how every time I long on the internet or turn on the television, I'm bombarded with a new story that's more horrific than the last. And everybody seems to be struggling and depressed. But despite it all, I'm enjoying Roni. So Speaker 2 (9:05) I don't know how that's happening. And your Speaker 1 (9:07) guess is as good as mine, but I am enjoying it. And last week, we ended with the Passover. They're still at Passover this week. And Haley and Aaron are going at it over... the jam and the boring comment and whether or not Haley broke up a marriage of eight, the Gosselins, which I didn't even, I'm surprised that that's coming up so much on the show, but they're going up. And Erin, of course, she's offended by being called boring, which it's like, A, Erin is boring. And B, it's really like not that big of a deal. Like, I actually think that's sort of sometimes a compliment on these shows because in real life. In the service of these shows, boring means you're not nuts. And so boring, if you're a cast member on a reality show and you're called boring, that actually technically means you're a stable individual and probably someone who is doing well in the real world and not fucking nuts. But then she's so offended by the word boring. And so she put the jam on the table, didn't she? Or she gave Haley the jam of the month club. Which I said last week, like, I would love a jam of the month. Somebody send me a jam of the month. I like jam. Not all the time. I don't know if I'd go through it as much. Actually, a jam of the month. I'd like it, like, bi-monthly. I feel like one jam a month. Sometimes, are you guys like this? Sometimes you get a thing like grape jelly or something, and it sits in the fridge for two years. Five years. Ten years. Just recently, I'm getting us off track here, but just recently I cleaned out the spice drawer. Because we're preparing for the new baby. And so I'm, of course, taking out my anxieties by cleaning things and organizing. And so I go in the spice drawer where you got, you know, our Italian seasonings, our chili powders. And I decided to like look on the date on all of them. And I was like, I'm going to get rid of the ones that are expired that I've been using. And some of them, it's like upwards of 10 years. And I'm like, why do I have chili powder that expired in during the Bush administration? Like, there's no reason. Why have I been traveling from home to home? Over the course of my adult life with that same bottle of lemon pepper. Something's wrong with that. But I feel like I'm not the only one. Has anyone gone through their spice drawer lately? It's shocking. It is shocking. There's things I can't find from my youth, from my even adult life, mementos and things that have been very important to me. Very, very important to me. And yet I am looking in my cabinet. And I'm seeing basil from 04. And I'm like, why did I buy my own basil in 04? Like I was living at home with my parents. Like, what was I doing? Did I just take the basil from my parents' house or the paprika? Why do I have paprika from when I was a child? It's like it expired in 02. Why do I have paprika in my spice drawer from 02? So anyway, I think that a jam of the month might be overextending me a little bit. But I Speaker 2 (12:02) would like a jam of the bi-monthly or Speaker 1 (12:04) tri-monthly. Bi-monthly would mean twice, right? I mean like every other month. That's what I want. That's what I want. Speaking of, I've also been looking at the Advent calendars. I love an Advent calendar for the holiday season. And now it feels like I'm being bombarded on my social medias with Advent calendars. And I'm like, which one do I need to buy? For the kiddos, a.k.a. myself. Speaker 2 (12:27) You know what I Speaker 1 (12:27) also... Okay, you guys are annoyed. You turned in for a Roni recap. I know. You're screaming at the radio like, Danny, talk about roadie. But one more thing. I did not know this, but you guys might be surprised to learn that, you know, Polly Pockets? Does anyone remember Polly Pockets? They like make adult Polly Pockets now. What I mean is they do like these sets that are basically for millennials. Like they have a clueless Polly Pocket. They have a Grinch Polly Pocket. They have like these ones that aren't just for kids. They're like for millennials or whoever that are. attached to their childhood or using nostalgia to cope with the stressors of the world, aka myself. And so I was somehow searching online, and I come up with a Grinch Polly Pocket. And I thought, oh, that's cute. Maybe I should get that for Christmas for my son. It's just the Grinch, and it's a little snowy scape. I thought it'd be fun. And it's sold out everywhere. It's like people are gobbling up a Grinch Polly Pocket set. I'm Speaker 2 (13:30) like, what is going on?
