Speaker 2 (0:00) This Miami conversation annoyed me. Although I still have love for you bullshit because you have Mr. Right over here trying to give you everything. Speaker 1 (0:12) Everything. And I just don't know how much more I can do. By the end of this show, of this show, of Pumpcast, we will have invented an entirely new English dialect. Speaker 2 (0:40) The Speaker 1 (0:41) only Speaker 2 (0:41) thing I have holding me back Speaker 1 (0:42) is that I have self-respect and dignity. Speaker 2 (0:47) What's up you guys and welcome back to the Speaker 1 (0:49) PompCast. I'm Maddie Drozdspek. And I'm Meg Ruoco. And we have some awesome news. We Speaker 2 (0:57) really do. Speaker 1 (0:59) And I don't even know if we've made this joke on the main show. I don't know if we have either. Maybe Speaker 2 (1:06) we've alluded to it. I think we said it once last week and I think that people were left confused. Right. Speaker 1 (1:14) We've joked about it to each other a lot. And Speaker 2 (1:17) on the Pumptrion. Yes. We've had an ongoing joke, which if you want to be in on all the ongoing jokes, join the Pumptrion. Speaker 1 (1:23) Right. Because they'll bleed over sometimes. They will. Yeah. Speaker 2 (1:26) Like they are right now. Like Speaker 1 (1:27) they are right now. We have had a long running gag that we want to invite Tom Schwartz to come to Disneyland with us. Speaker 1 (1:38) When we go to LA. We just think it would be funny. We think it Speaker 2 (1:42) would be funny. We want to wear matching ears and just go on rides. Imagining myself in like a tower of terror. I know they don't have that at Disneyland, but whatever the tower of terror equivalent is in Disneyland, imagine sitting and doing that with Tom Schwartz and then buying the ride video. Right. Mogging Tom Schwartz. I Speaker 1 (2:01) also just love the idea of like, we're a group of three and like Tom Schwartz is always the one sitting by himself. Speaker 1 (2:07) We don't sit with Tom Schwartz in any of the rides. I just Speaker 2 (2:12) think that there's too much good things that could happen if you put me, Meg, and Tom Schwartz in Disneyland together. Right. Speaker 1 (2:20) We've talked about it a lot. We've talked about what we would do if we did have Tom Schwartz around us for a few hours. And I think we landed on, we actually, I don't think, would interview him at all. It would just be us at Disneyland. Speaker 2 (2:34) No, we might Speaker 1 (2:35) just... prank him at disneyland yeah we don't know we don't know what we do but the good news is that news has reached tom schwartz about this news has reached tom schwartz Speaker 2 (2:47) about this thanks to you guys thanks to the pumpers this is boofs on the ground journalism as we've discussed before thanks Speaker 1 (2:53) to all of you and specifically one pumper in general yes or no sorry one pumper specifically yes um who recently met tom schwartz at One of Speaker 2 (3:05) his meet and greets that he's been doing. One of his strange Speaker 1 (3:07) kind of world tour on his world tour. Speaker 2 (3:10) The Schwartz world tour that's happening. Speaker 1 (3:12) Did you see he's going to Australia? Why? Speaker 2 (3:15) What business does that man have being in Australia? We'll ask Speaker 1 (3:18) him. Yeah, we'll ask him when we go to Disneyland. And apparently this pumper asked Tom Schwartz. They said, well, one, have you seen the Pumpcast clips? He said he's confirmed that he loves when we make fun of him. Great. Because it's going to happen so much more. And then they asked if he would be down to go to Disneyland with us. And he said yes. Speaker 2 (3:44) The thing Speaker 1 (3:45) is, we know that man loves a side quest. Speaker 2 (3:47) Right. We got one for you, Swartzy. Speaker 1 (3:50) This is what I'm saying. I'm like, he showed up in some dude's car one time. We want to go to Disneyland with him. That's like a fun day. He was adopted to pick up some Speaker 2 (4:00) girl from Speaker 1 (4:00) her fucking Speaker 2 (4:01) high school. Right. He'll come to Speaker 1 (4:03) Disneyland with us. Speaker 2 (4:04) We're going to Disneyland with you, Tom Schwartz. Yeah. Tom Schwartz, Speaker 1 (4:07) get ready to go to Disneyland. Speaker 2 (4:08) We'll see you Speaker 1 (4:08) there. Speaker 2 (4:09) And then we're finding a Rainforest Cafe and we're going with him. Yeah. Speaker 1 (4:12) That's also become a new thing that Maddie's been really into is going to Rainforest Cafe with Tom Schwartz. I just Speaker 2 (4:17) think of all the places that would be funny to be with Tom Schwartz. Rainforest Cafe is one of them. That's high up on my list. I kind of want to go through a car wash with Tom Schwartz. Big. Right? Be like, okay, Tom Schwartz, can you give us a ride home in your car? Right. And can we go through a car wash? Carpooling with Speaker 1 (4:34) Tom Schwartz to Disneyland? Speaker 2 (4:37) We make him drive. We're just visiting. We don't have a car. Do you want to drive us to Anaheim? We Speaker 1 (4:43) didn't rent a car. I don't know. We're either Ubering or you're going to drive us. Uber is so expensive. Just let us Speaker 2 (4:52) know. We could also go have lunch before at Tom Tom. We're both going to sit in the back of the car. Speaker 1 (4:58) Totally. We don't need to be up in the passenger seat next to you. Lunch is on you, Tommy boy. You're serving up something good. Speaker 2 (5:09) So big things coming. Big things coming and big things coming Speaker 1 (5:12) soon. Yeah. Get ready. We're manifesting. We're manifesting. Tom Schwartz, you heard it here first. Can't wait to go to Disneyland with you, bro. Can't wait. Speaker 2 (5:20) Dude, we're so excited to go to Disneyland together. Dude, Speaker 1 (5:22) we're amped. Oh my God. We'll see you there. Speaker 1 (5:26) Our first time interacting with Tom Schwartz is just like at Disneyland. We just roll up. We're like, Speaker 2 (5:32) dude, hey. Hey, man. Let's go get our matching ears. What do you think your Speaker 1 (5:37) attitude would be? I think I'm just going to be very giggly. It would be hard for me to stop laughing. I'm Speaker 2 (5:44) going to have to roll into it. Yeah. I think I'll be very giggly up top. Yeah. And then I think once we get into a groove, once I see Tom Schwartz interact with. some man in a furry costume, then I'm going to be all Speaker 1 (6:00) set. Speaker 2 (6:00) I Speaker 1 (6:00) have to imagine it's like what it would feel like going to Disneyland with like your one cousin. They Speaker 2 (6:08) also have liquor at Disneyland. Speaker 1 (6:11) Yo, should we do the around the world drinking game with Tom Schwartz? That's Speaker 2 (6:15) at Disney World. Oh, because Speaker 1 (6:17) that's Epcot. Speaker 2 (6:18) But at Disneyland, I believe Disney's California Adventure. You can drink in and there's a bunch of alcohol there. Speaker 1 (6:24) Yeah. Can we do like a bar crawl with Tom Schwartz? I think that's what we have to do. I think we have to. And then we go Speaker 2 (6:29) on fucking Guardians of the Galaxy or whatever their Tower of Terror is and we say, good luck, Speaker 1 (6:34) Tom. Well, Tom, we'll see you. Speaker 2 (6:37) We'll see you on the other side. And Speaker 1 (6:38) we Speaker 2 (6:38) mog the fuck out of him in that video. We're like, Speaker 1 (6:41) we Speaker 2 (6:42) do the brandy. We brandy. We don't tell him that we're doing the brandy and then we do the brandy. Speaker 1 (6:47) And he's just like, and Speaker 2 (6:50) we're brandying. Speaker 1 (6:54) It's like, what else does he have going on? Nothing. He's so bored. He's so bored. We're babysitting him by taking him there. Yeah, we're basically taking our little cousin to Disneyland. That's what it is. Yeah, our 45-year-old little cousin. Speaker 2 (7:07) Anyways, we'll see you at Disney World. See you soon. See you soon when we go to Disney World together. Can't wait. Separately. Yeah. But also... Somewhat similar because connecting to the internet sphere, everything is connected. Everything's connected. Go on online. Okay. The network. I've been seeing a couple people in our comment section saying something that I'd like to gently correct the record on. Yeah. Which is that I've seen some people saying. As we're watching season three of Vanderpump, that they don't feel bad for Ariana now watching it back and seeing the start of their relationship or having heard about Scandival and now watching the show for the first time. And they're like, oh, now that I know this, I don't feel bad for her. Right. I'm going to stop you right there. Pause. I would like to suggest a secret third option, which is that you can. Hold two things to be true Speaker 1 (8:10) at once. So true, Queen. Speaker 2 (8:12) You can look at the early seasons Ariana and say, hey, Queen, that was crazy. Yeah. The same way we do every single episode. Absolutely. We say, Ariana Queen, we love you. Get out of there. This is crazy town. Run, Speaker 1 (8:24) Queen. Speaker 2 (8:24) And I Speaker 1 (8:26) do feel bad Speaker 2 (8:27) for what Ariana is put through later on. Speaker 1 (8:30) Me too. Because. She doesn't deserve that. Yes. Nobody does. And it's possible to believe both things. And just because someone had a certain type of personality seven years prior doesn't mean that they then get to be tortured seven years later. Right. Exactly. So just something to think Speaker 2 (8:47) about. I think I've also seen a lot of people saying that about Britney and Jax with all of the new stuff going on with them. And so many people want to look at Britney and be like, oh, well, she should have known better. Speaker 1 (8:57) And I'm just really not into the victim blaming of it. all yeah we Speaker 2 (9:01) can Speaker 1 (9:01) go Speaker 2 (9:01) around in circles and say well you should have known you should have known you should have known the reality is like when you are with a narcissist um they're gonna convince you that the story's different that they're different now for you that you you've changed them or whatever it is like um people Speaker 1 (9:20) jump through loops to convince the people they're with of the stories that they're telling inside their own head. And sometimes Speaker 2 (9:27) it works. Yeah. And that's the reality of being in an abusive relationship. Speaker 1 (9:31) That's exactly to the point that I was going to say. It's like, I think that sometimes because we watch these things on TV, it's like we can forget that these are like real people who have been genuinely affected by what is happening to them. Speaker 1 (9:45) These are both of these women are women who have been subjected to abusive relationships, whether it is emotional or physical. Yeah. Speaker 1 (9:54) both Tom Sandoval and Jax Taylor, like utilized coercion, manipulation, lying, uh, guilt tripping at the very least. And when, like you said, are it, when you are in a relationship like that, it is very easy to not see the bigger picture of what is happening to you and what is being done to you by these men. Right. Um, So yeah, we can, this is a, this, the podcast space is a space for holding many feelings. Many things can be true at once. Many things can be true. I actually believe that that's like a fundamental Speaker 2 (10:35) part of being a reality TV watcher. Totally. Which I Speaker 1 (10:40) think, I Speaker 2 (10:41) think about this all the time, but I think witnessing how the like. reality TV watchers space has changed in this new era of the internet where people love a little black and white thinking. Yes. It's all or nothing. It's in or out. You are good or bad. Speaker 1 (10:59) And Speaker 2 (11:00) I think it's very fascinating to watch these people who see the world like that. Try to watch reality TV because it doesn't work. No. Speaker 1 (11:10) Because. a lot of reality TV, especially good reality TV is Speaker 2 (11:14) usually like a lot of the shittiest people you've ever seen in your entire life being insane for an hour straight. Yeah. And they're like, well, this is a bad person on my TV. Get him out of here. And I'm like, no, no, leave them. They're the show. We're doing studies. Right. Okay. We're watching. And just because we like someone on reality TV. does not mean we co-sign everything they do or say no no no Speaker 1 (11:37) no no no no Speaker 2 (11:38) correct these are Speaker 1 (11:39) our court jesters exactly we're here to be entertained they are juggling for us exactly and we will watch them and clap and laugh that's what it is i think that we can you know as we are watching this from like a bird's eye view right we're able to watch this with a lot of nuance. Um, you know, I saw people last week commenting on our videos about like, I appreciate you guys like talking about like the Jackson John relationship in the way that you did. And yeah, it's like, uh, do I think Jack Taylor is a good person? No, no. Um, am I going to talk about that dynamic in a like truthful and honest way and be able to like hold space for, you know, a 19 year old kid who was probably groomed? by an older man. Yeah. Speaker 2 (12:27) I will. Many things can be true at once. Speaker 1 (12:29) Many things can be true at once. Um, and you gotta, unfortunately take that morality police hat off while you're watching reality Speaker 2 (12:37) TV. It's just like, I, I, I've seen this a lot this week in the context of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which is why it was top of my brain. But I saw a thread earlier today where somebody was like, listen, if you want Taylor Frankie Paul off that show, I respect that that's your opinion. And without her, there is no show. Right. Like it's just Speaker 1 (13:00) gone now. Yeah. Speaker 2 (13:02) kind of tend to agree with the premise of the show is insane without her it does kind of fall apart and that's fine if somebody if people think the show should end and they that's their stance i totally respect that yeah but the part that i wanted to touch on here was that there was someone in the comments being like oh but you know i just would have loved to see more of macy's book tour and the person posting the original thread was like with all due respect that's not fucking interesting and i genuinely think that some of these reality these new reality tv watchers actually don't like reality tv and don't Speaker 1 (13:38) want Speaker 2 (13:38) to watch it they want to watch a youtube vlogger do like a day in the life and it's just like oh Speaker 1 (13:43) my god look at what i'm making my kids for lunch Speaker 2 (13:44) today yes and that's awesome listen i make youtube videos there is content out Speaker 1 (13:50) there for you world Speaker 2 (13:51) for you but i just don't think that that's what reality tv is right i think reality tv is about sitting in the gray area and Speaker 1 (13:59) being Speaker 2 (14:00) like a lot of this is insane there's a lot of crazy things happening and so many things are true at the same time i think it's also Speaker 1 (14:08) like an analysis of the human condition. Yeah. Like what we're doing at, on every single Tuesday is coming here and like psychoanalyzing insane people. Um, and, and that is really Speaker 2 (14:25) a joy. Yeah. Speaker 1 (14:26) And it's us basically like putting on our little lab coats and putting amoebas under a dish and like looking at them through a microscope and observing Speaker 2 (14:33) them in Speaker 1 (14:34) a silly way. Right. It's anthropological. And when you are an anthropologist, you are not placing a judgment on what the monkeys are doing. Right. You are just watching the monkeys. Yeah. Speaker 2 (14:45) And writing down Speaker 1 (14:46) what they do. Yes. And analyzing perhaps why they are doing those things. Speaker 2 (14:49) Yes. I totally agree. Right. I just think that like the joy of reality TV is like indulging in the gossip of it all. Yeah. And sometimes people just they want to. kill that because they're like well Speaker 1 (15:02) this person's bad and i'm like yeah i know i know yeah that's why i'm giggling right is it primatologist that i'm thinking of or anthropologist anthropologist is the study of humans Like is Jane Goodall a primatologist? Cause she studies primates. I have no idea. Whatever Jane Goodall was. Jane. That's what we are. Jane. Jane. If you're listening from the beyond, give us a sign. Speaker 1 (15:35) That was really good. Whoa. That was really good. All right. Add it to your list of impressions. We are the Janes of Vanderpump Rules. Yeah. Speaker 2 (15:51) But I really do. I am fascinated by the way that people engage with reality TV. Speaker 1 (15:56) It's a really interesting reflection. For Speaker 2 (15:58) better Speaker 1 (15:58) or Speaker 2 (15:58) worse. Speaker 1 (15:59) It's a really interesting reflection, I think, on just like the general kind of like. like media and literacy crisis that we are currently experiencing, which is, you know, people equating your own morality to your enjoyment of entertainment. Speaker 2 (16:14) Right. Well, you saw it. Even people do this with movies too. Yes, they do this Speaker 1 (16:18) with movies. They do this with books. Speaker 2 (16:20) Like this is, this is something where if you liked the movie, Marty Supreme, it means Speaker 1 (16:25) that you thought Marty was a good person. And it is interesting to see that kind of infiltrate the. reality television sphere where people are, yeah, kind of performing this like panopticon of morality where it's like, if you like this thing, then that means that you are endorsing that Speaker 2 (16:44) person's behavior Speaker 1 (16:45) when that just isn't true. I'm just here to Speaker 2 (16:49) kind Speaker 1 (16:50) of giggle and laugh at people being Speaker 2 (16:51) dumb as hell on television. When I see these people on threads getting mad about shit like that though, I'm like, you would not have survived. Mike the situation in the year 2009. From Speaker 1 (17:02) what I understand, they were slinging around the F slur crazy style on that show. They were Speaker 2 (17:06) doing everything crazy style on that show. Like there is crazy to me the lengths that they went. What's Speaker 1 (17:16) that like a completely fried Tumblr quote that's like you wouldn't last a day in the asylum that raised me or whatever the fuck? That's you about Jersey Shore. It Speaker 2 (17:26) is me about Jersey Shore. I believe in shitty reality TV stars because of Jersey Shore and what an absolute masterpiece I believe it to be. Speaker 1 (17:35) Yeah. And this is the thing. It's like you're not in the same way that we read Shakespeare when we're younger and we're reading about. Romeo and Juliet and the Capulets and the Montagues and we're like these guys are crazy why are they killing each other but they're just they're families who don't like each other we're not endorsing families killing each other in Romeo and Juliet but it's like if Romeo and Juliet fell in love and got along and everything was fine and there was no conflict there would be no story yeah Speaker 2 (18:05) I Speaker 1 (18:06) want to gossip I want Speaker 2 (18:07) to gossip girl come on sister queen Speaker 2 (18:12) Let us chat. Come Speaker 1 (18:14) on. Don't get silly. Speaker 2 (18:16) Yeah. Speaker 1 (18:17) Also, if they were good people, we wouldn't have shit to talk about. Speaker 2 (18:20) Yeah, come on. This podcast Speaker 1 (18:22) wouldn't exist. And where would that leave us? Speaker 2 (18:25) The Speaker 1 (18:26) next five years of your life are going Speaker 2 (18:27) to be pretty boring. Yeah, bleak. Pretty boring. Not you guys, though. We love you guys. Speaking of gossip, though, we did talk about Vanderpump conspiracy theories over on the Pumptrion today. Yes. So if you're interested in gossiping about things that are probably made up. Speaker 1 (18:42) Go join us. And some things that are like maybe true. Maybe true, question mark. We also pitched some of our own conspiracy theories because we do have one quite big one. Pretty big one, actually. And you. But that one's reserved for the Pumptrions. Yeah. The Pumptrions. The Pumptrioners. And you know what? I'm going to say it because I think it'll be true by the time this comes out. We hit a thousand subscribers on Pumptrion. Speaker 2 (19:11) Yeah, come on. There's a growing group of pumpers over there. Yeah. They're chatting. They're giggling it up. Get in on the ground floor. Okay, Speaker 1 (19:20) wait. Speaker 2 (19:20) Fuck. I've actually, I forgot to say this on the Pumptrion. So I'm going to say it here. Okay. But in last week's episode of the Pumptrion, we were doing a bunch of Vanderpump personality quizzes. Yes. To figure out which Vanderpump character we are. Yep. Definitively. And we asked. the pumpers on the pump tree on to take these quizzes and tell us their results Speaker 1 (19:42) so that we could figure out what the like breakdown of our audience is and i actually have the results oh my god i compiled them oh my god so it's Speaker 2 (19:51) happening Speaker 1 (19:51) live would Speaker 2 (19:52) you guys like to know which vanderpump rules cast member our audience is the most like yes what's your guess this Speaker 1 (20:04) is really tough Speaker 1 (20:08) I'm feeling Kristen. Speaker 2 (20:10) Okay. Not the worst guess. Okay. The number one spot with 26 % of our audience. That's a quarter. Is Stassi. Speaker 1 (20:23) Whoa. Speaker 2 (20:25) Okay. Speaker 1 (20:25) The second biggest Speaker 2 (20:27) piece of the pie was someone getting Speaker 1 (20:29) every Vanderpump with 23%, which is what I got. That's what you got. No Speaker 2 (20:35) repeats. Speaker 1 (20:35) We took like. six Speaker 2 (20:37) quizzes maybe yeah and Speaker 1 (20:38) i got no repeat answers and to know who i got you'll have to subscribe to subscribe um and Speaker 2 (20:45) the third biggest one was sheena at 18 damn and i was gonna guess sheena is one of them and the rest were kind of like splitting what was left pretty evenly Speaker 1 (20:55) right stassi everyone and sheena Speaker 2 (20:57) were our biggest uh contenders that Speaker 1 (21:01) is really interesting yeah two divas who just want it all Come on. The diva off of the century. Yeah. My two girls. So join our growing community of divas. We'll see you there. See you there. I'm trying to think of a new way to do this. Speaker 2 (21:20) Let's ride. Let's ride. Let's ride. Let's ride. Love the Lamborghini roll up in a blue bikini. Bitches on the Speaker 1 (21:37) beaches looking super cute and freaky. Speaker 2 (21:40) Okay, Speaker 1 (21:41)
