Hey you hold hold it there you are set can't it snapshot of yourself stolen down the great white way look thanks Bob just sending this card with your name and address look friend thank you and please you don't know me but I know you used to be a cop I done time that's how I know see okay okay heard you was a private cop now came to your office to see you but I was too early now This card. I think I'm being tailed. Little man with a nasty old sludge hammers. I call you later. Take the card. I told you. Take the card. Here, take it. Phone you later. The executive agency, Mary had a little lamb, she hit it with a stick, she could have gotten 20 years, instead she came to Rick. Oh, are you really that good? Well, I got the inside on who knocked off cock robin. Well, good for you. Hi, Helen. Hi, I'm late, how late is it? Oh, well, I don't know. I'm late on a case? The funniest thing happened to me on the way to the office. Alone? No, I was leading patrol number three of the brownies. I mean, I mean, you want to hear what happened to me on the way to the office? I want to hear what happened to you last night. Oh, now relax, honey. I was with Walt. Honest? Honest, we played poker. If you don't believe me, stop it at the fifth precinct. Walt's hired a voodoo witch doctor to shrink his head back to normal. All right. Now what happened to you on the way to the office? Oh, well the dinedest thing, some little guy who the crowd, me to hang on to it until he calls. Said he was being Tailed. Who knows? He knew me all right. Well, it's on the card. Oh, well, nothing much. Got it right here. Just a place for your name and address. Well, you're supposed to send it in and get your picture back. That's right. Hey, wait a minute. What's matter? Well, there's something stuck in the middle of the card. Hmm. didn't see it before. Well, Rick, hurry up. Oh, it's a negative. Small negative. Oh, we couldn't have developed your picture that quickly. Ah, it's too small to make out what it is. Hold it up to the light. Honey, I am. Just looks like a, oh, a bunch of people on the street. Oh, why don't you have a print made of it? I got a better idea. Why don't you hang up the little old phone to give my friend the frightened photographer a chance to call. I call you later, Well, that's the way it started. I hung up the phone, turned around to my chair and held the negative up to the light again. Couldn't see a thing that made it unusual. The more I tried to figure it out, the less sense it made. My better judgment started chuckling, but somewhere down in the middle of my stomach, a little little arm started ringing. I had that a lousy feeling again, and no matter how hard I tried to talk myself out of it, I knew something was wrong. That little alarm kept sounding off I felt pretty foolish when I realized it was a phone. Yeah? Mr. Diamond? Oh, been taking any more pictures? How'd you know it was me? Scientific police methods. H, hunch, and I recognize your voice. Find the negative in the card? Yeah, what does it mean? Don't want to talk over the phone. Come to 222 Blaker Street, Apartment H. You want me to bring the negative? No, no, hide it on you. If who stops me? They? They'll, sure if they find it on you. Well, one thing was certain, the little photographer sure knew how to get me interested. I started out of the office when I remembered he'd said to hide the negative, so letting a good melodrama and being the type of sits-home Sundays to listen to Sam Spade, I found a piece of adhesive tape, put the negative back in the card, pulled out a desk drawer and stuck the negative on the bottom of the drawer. Then I closed the drawer and headed for Bleaker Street, apartment H. I waited a few seconds and then gave it another try. Yeah? I'm looking for the guy who lives here. Oh you are, huh? Yeah, short little guy, it takes pictures. He does, huh? Well, your name's Einstein, isn't it? No. Look, I just want to see the little guy who lives here. Louie, I found some conditions in the ice box. Oh, that's well. Somebody out here wants to see George. Somebody wants to see George. Oh, maybe it's a guy he called him. Hi, you want to see George, huh? I want to see the guy who called me. His name's George Swell. Oh, shall let him in? Yeah, come in. Thanks, Toto. His name's Tony. You call me Einstein before. Funny. Uh, George is in the other room, right over there. Thanks. Goodie. Used to be a cop, yeah? Private, I know. Hey, what the... That's George. Say the one you want? Name's Diamond, ain't it? Look, Dreamy. Is he sleeping one off? No, he's dead. Who killed him? I didn't. I helped. Okay, you helped. Uh-I wouldn't, Chamas. Yeah, I got a ride in my pocket. I don't on you all the time. Pretty good, huh. He sees a lot of movies. Pretty good, pretty good, huh. I'll just take your gun, Shamas.
