Speaker 2 (0:02) The threat of disaster is never pleasant. Speaker 3 (0:05) Welcome to the Casual Preppers Podcast. Speaker 2 (0:07) These safety measures are essential. Every member of the family must be coached in the business of survival. Here are your hosts, Speaker 1 (0:21) Cam and Speaker 3 (0:22) Kobe. Speaker 1 (0:24) Hey, yeah. I've been pondering these questions for the last 15 minutes. It's always funny because I can see him frantically putting Speaker 2 (0:34) it in at the end. I'm like, Speaker 1 (0:35) oh, here it comes. I usually read through them a couple of times and then I'm like, okay, I'll put my answer down just so I don't forget. That's probably a good idea. Yeah. Speaker 2 (0:43) You Speaker 1 (0:43) don't want to forget. I'll read it a Speaker 2 (0:44) couple of times. But yeah, we're doing Q &A today, right, Cam? Yeah. Been a bit? It's been a bit. And these are good Speaker 1 (0:49) questions. I thought that it was Speaker 2 (0:51) a little different Speaker 1 (0:52) from some of the stuff we've been asked a million Speaker 2 (0:54) times before. Well, I try. Well, it's hard because we do get a lot of questions when these come in, and you have to kind of handpick them because... I'm trying not to do the same things that we've done over and over. Yeah. They're great questions, but we've asked them or we've answered them before. We Speaker 1 (1:08) change. We change. Speaker 2 (1:09) Yeah. And so, like, if we didn't pick yours, it's not because it was a crappy question. We've probably answered it. That's a good point. Probably answered it. It was Speaker 1 (1:17) real stupid. Or it was so freaking dumb. I was like, yeah, that person. Delete. You've tried a million times. We're not answering it. Speaker 2 (1:27) But before we get to this. I gotta tell you about Battlebox. It's Speaker 2 (2:28) great. We just got back from Georgia just a few days ago. We were hanging out with the folks over there at BattleBox for Battle Games Season 3, and I can't wait for you guys to see it. Speaker 1 (2:37) Yeah, it's going to be super exciting. We can't tell you Speaker 2 (2:39) anything about it, but it's cool. Speaker 1 (2:40) Yep. And my scrotum just dried out today. Speaker 2 (2:43) Yeah, just barely. Speaker 1 (2:45) The sweatiest, hottest ever. You've been Speaker 2 (2:47) standing in front of a fan for a week. Barely dried out. Seriously. Speaker 1 (2:52) It's been bad. It took a long time. Lots of baby powder to get things back to normal. But you got through it. You got through it. We did. Yeah, I made it. That Speaker 2 (3:01) place is humid. Holy cow. I'll tell you that. A little heat wave going Speaker 1 (3:04) through there. It was hot. I don't know how. Speaker 2 (3:07) Hot, but fun. Speaker 1 (3:09) Spoiler, none of the contestants made it. They all died. They all died of heat exhaustion. It was crazy. But no, what a blast. It was. Everybody at BattleBox, I Speaker 2 (3:17) can't say enough good things about them. Speaker 1 (3:19) Yeah. Like, they're so nice. In person, it just drives home how good a company they are. Yeah, Speaker 2 (3:25) it's like, if you're wondering if your money's going to, like, a good cause, a good people, good company, it is. Seriously. These guys care about you. That's why they're doing these things. And just a bunch of... Good dudes and gals. Not a single dentist there. I didn't find one. There was not. I did not find one. Speaker 1 (3:43) Selfish, greedy dentist anywhere. Cool thing, too, is there Speaker 2 (3:45) was a bunch of sponsors there that usually have stuff in their boxes. All those guys were amazing, too. Like, I can't even tell you how much fun we had. Great times. Speaker 1 (3:54) Yeah, it was amazing. Great times. Still thinking about it. I'm still thinking Speaker 2 (3:58) about it, too. Everybody Speaker 1 (3:58) that was there. Still Speaker 2 (3:59) thinking about it. One in Speaker 1 (4:00) particular. Shout out. Speaker 2 (4:01) One Speaker 1 (4:01) in particular. We'll talk about that later. Yeah. But yeah. You want to start? Yeah, sure. Speaker 2 (4:06) Okay. Speaker 1 (4:06) So Donnie Dust. Oh, man. First question. First question. Speaker 2 (4:10) He's a novel. Speaker 1 (4:11) He cut his hair. I know. It's crazy. Oh, my gosh. Speaker 2 (4:13) All of his powers. He does look good. Oh, he looks fantastic. Yeah, Speaker 1 (4:17) it Speaker 2 (4:17) doesn't Speaker 1 (4:17) matter. I'll Speaker 2 (4:18) give him that. Speaker 1 (4:19) So question. Would you guys ever consider doing a TV show that replicates a shelter in place? Yeah. You have already bugged out with stuff and have to sustain and live over an unknown number of days. Asking for a friend. Also, what would be your mid-level scenario you would want to survive in? Extreme, you know, nuclear fallout, easy, no power for 72 hours. So, two questions. Slip two in there. We'll let Speaker 2 (4:44) you Speaker 1 (4:45) do Speaker 2 (4:45) it, Donnie. Speaker 1 (4:46) Oh, Speaker 2 (4:46) 100 % I would do that TV show. Yeah. That'd be a blast. Speaker 1 (4:49) That would be an excellent TV show. Yeah, Speaker 2 (4:51) and it sounds like something that people could actually learn from, get Speaker 1 (4:55) something out of. Yeah, I think so. As long as there's no scripts that I have to deliver, I'm fine. This is like... Show me doing stuff. Don't let me talk. You did kind of Speaker 2 (5:05) get Speaker 1 (5:05) out of that at the battle games. I was fully prepared to talk. We had another judge step in and help us out. And we're just like, yeah, you do it. Yeah, it worked out good. Speaker 2 (5:15) Yeah, it did Speaker 1 (5:16) work out really good. It worked out Speaker 2 (5:17) good. But when it comes to, yeah, a TV show, as long as there's no scripted lines, you're good with it. As long as there's no scripted lines, yeah. If you Speaker 1 (5:23) just let me say what I want to say. Yeah. And edit it later and delete it all. Delete it Speaker 2 (5:27) all. There you go. Speaker 1 (5:28) It's just Cam's there. Speaker 2 (5:29) He should be talking, but he's not talking because they deleted it all. Speaker 1 (5:33) That's what you're saying. Her AI can slip some lines in there. Yeah. That sounds pretty good. My mid-level scenario would be just like, I mean, nothing exciting. I just would like to see what a week without power would do to my family and everybody. To see if they might die? Yeah, simple one. Speaker 2 (5:52) Easy. Speaker 1 (5:52) I like that. That would be my mid. I don't think anything more than that. Like the extreme, though. What would you do with extreme? I don't know. He didn't ask that. He gave us an example. He Speaker 2 (5:59) said Speaker 1 (5:59) extreme. No, he said, for example, basically. Oh. Speaker 2 (6:03) That's how I read it. I thought he was talking about all three. It doesn't really matter because I'm going to go with alien invasion for all three. Speaker 1 (6:09) That's a good point. Speaker 2 (6:10) Just like a mild alien invasion. Like maybe one alien comes down, you know, and it's like. The rest died in travel. Like this alien is back east somewhere chilling, you know. It'd be cool to see. Mid-level, maybe there's 10 or 15 aliens kind of hiding around the United States or the world. Yeah. Or then we go to extreme. Like, there's one on every corner. Speaker 1 (6:33) Yeah. Yeah. I think that's a great, I mean, that covers it all. Yeah. You just want aliens to come. Speaker 2 (6:38) I Speaker 1 (6:38) really do. Who cares? Like, I don't care if it's good or bad. You'd be, like, blasting everybody or just one shows up to shake hands. Speaker 2 (6:45) And, like, what would you do? So, say aliens do come and they say, look, man, you can come with us back to home base, wherever that is. But you're Speaker 1 (6:54) going Speaker 2 (6:54) to be gone forever. Do Speaker 1 (6:56) you go? I wouldn't go forever. Speaker 2 (6:58) You Speaker 1 (6:58) don't think so? I mean. Can Kobe's family and my family go? Then we would all go. Is it better there? Yeah. Are gas prices lower? I doubt it. Tell me about your king Speaker 2 (7:09) or your president. What kind of humidity do Speaker 1 (7:12) you have on this planet? That would be the first question I would ask. Speaker 2 (7:16) Right. Look at these Speaker 1 (7:17) nuts. Speaker 2 (7:18) That's what Cam would say. Do you want to come with us? Look at these nuts. Can I dry these out where you are from? They're Speaker 1 (7:24) just Speaker 2 (7:24) like, no, you don't even have to wear pants. Speaker 1 (7:27) I'd be on there already. Yeah, exactly. No one's Speaker 2 (7:29) wearing pants? Speaker 1 (7:30) No one's wearing pants. Speaker 2 (7:30) I'm down. Yeah. Yeah, that would be a hard question. I know. I don't know. Do Speaker 1 (7:36) you Speaker 2 (7:36) want to come with Speaker 1 (7:36) us? But you would get to see Speaker 2 (7:38) the universe in some way. You know what I mean? It's hard to say Speaker 1 (7:42) no to that. Yeah. Could Speaker 2 (7:44) they Speaker 1 (7:44) guarantee safe travel, though? I don't know. I don't know if your body can make it, but we're going to invite you. I would Speaker 2 (7:49) assume if they're inviting you that they have that worked out. I would hope so. And how Speaker 1 (7:53) many years? Yeah, I don't know. It Speaker 2 (7:55) could Speaker 1 (7:55) be forever. I don't know. That'd Speaker 2 (7:57) be Speaker 1 (7:57) interesting. Like how many years to travel to there. Oh, yeah. You'll die before you get there. We don't Speaker 2 (8:02) have Speaker 1 (8:02) to put that in. I would think it would be. It's Speaker 2 (8:03) all Speaker 1 (8:03) figured out, right? Quick. If Speaker 2 (8:05) they're here, they've probably just figured that out. Freeze Speaker 1 (8:07) you, right? Cryo freeze. Maybe. Or maybe it's a wormhole Speaker 2 (8:11) type situation. Yeah. And it's really, it's like a week. Speaker 1 (8:13) That would be hard to pass up. I know. And then the other thing I would ask is, I don't know why we're going into this. It doesn't matter. I would be like, can I like, like send information of where I'm. I would like to share some information with Speaker 2 (8:26) the world. Speaker 1 (8:26) Kind of like Life360? They probably would say no. Like, I have Life360 app. Will this Speaker 2 (8:30) work in your neck of the woods? Can I take my Nest camera and set it up in the ship? Can I still publish podcasts out there? That would be the most important thing. Yeah, because maybe we could both go. Yeah. And we're just, like, yeah, it would be amazing. Yeah, Speaker 1 (8:46) that would be Speaker 2 (8:46) pretty sweet. I Speaker 1 (8:47) don't know. Speaker 2 (8:47) I like that. There we are. Speaker 1 (8:49) Anyways, Speaker 2 (8:49) this one came from Chris Hudson. underscore, what is the correct 5-5-6 to water ratio to survive a prehistoric animal invasion in Arkansas during the spring? Wow, I didn't realize it was that specific. Very, very specific situation. I've really not spent Speaker 1 (9:08) any time in Arkansas in the spring. Speaker 2 (9:10) I've not Speaker 1 (9:10) either. So, I don't know if it's super hot, probably. I Speaker 2 (9:15) mean, I don't. Or super wet. Never been to Arkansas. Who cares? Or Kansas. Yeah. But I'm going to guess we're looking like a gallon of water to 1,000 rounds. Yeah. Like that's probably a pretty good ratio. I think that's a good ratio. I bumped it to Speaker 1 (9:32) 2,000 rounds only because Speaker 2 (9:33) I was like, there's like, Speaker 1 (9:34) you know, they're flying dinosaurs and stuff. The pterodactyls. I'm not very accurate, so. No. Yeah, I don't know. 2,000. Maybe 2,000, Speaker 2 (9:45) yeah. But I assume you're going to have to use a lot of rounds. I mean, it's, you know, you're trying to kill a T-Rex. I don't even know if you could. And a Pterodactyl. A Pterodactyl or a Velociraptor. Yeah. You Speaker 1 (9:58) know, I don't know. All sorts of whatever names they've changed them to. I know. But, Speaker 2 (10:01) yeah. And are they going to have feathers? I don't know. I'm not sure. That's true. They should. Oh, Speaker 1 (10:06) actually, I just heard, didn't they just find a T-Rex in Wyoming recently? Did they? Not a live one. But he's still just like walking around. I don't know. Complete one, which is the coolest dinosaur. Speaker 2 (10:18) I mean, yeah, Speaker 1 (10:19) I think so. It's Speaker 2 (10:20) got to be the coolest Speaker 1 (10:20) dinosaur. So interesting. I didn't Speaker 2 (10:22) know that. I'll have to look it up. Speaker 1 (10:23) You'd need a lot of rounds. I would imagine thousand. I mean, five by six probably isn't going to penetrate the skin. That's what I'm Speaker 2 (10:30) wondering. Like, would that even be useful? Like that? That's probably like the thickest skin, I would assume. Speaker 1 (10:36) Yeah. Speaker 2 (10:36) And again, there could be a layer of feathers on the outside as well. I don't know. So if Speaker 1 (10:41) you're popping eyes. Yeah, sure. Speaker 2 (10:43) Popping eyes. Or maybe the anus is a place that's softer. Permeable. Or the undercarriage in a few places. There's Speaker 3 (10:53) a Speaker 2 (10:53) penetrable spot on the back. You got to go for the butthole. Yeah. If you want to kill one of these things. You imagine being that grizzled guy after a couple months that knows all the spots. Knows all the spots. Hit Speaker 1 (11:06) them Speaker 2 (11:06) and just Speaker 1 (11:06) scroll them, just spin around, pop the eyes out. It's so easy. I'm just not bad. Figured this out. I figured out Arkansas in the spring. Clever girl. Clever girl. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. I don't know either. But that sounds, I mean. one to 1,000 is the easiest to remember. That's the whole thing. Easier to remember. That's Speaker 2 (11:26) kind of what I was thinking because it's just like you remember it. I remember just from the podcast. Because Speaker 1 (11:30) if Speaker 2 (11:30) it happens and you're like, oh, crap, it's like April or in Arkansas. Holy shit, there's a velociraptor. Now what do I do? Right. Like your head's spinning. One Speaker 1 (11:40) to 1 Speaker 2 (11:40) ,000. One to 1 Speaker 1 (11:41) ,000. Speaker 2 (11:41) I remember. That's what Kobe Speaker 1 (11:42) said. It is. It's easier to remember. So that's just the reason why I feel like that's probably good. Good idea. Yeah. And also remember Speaker 2 (11:48) buttholes and scrotums. Yeah. Scrotum shot. Or Speaker 1 (11:52) maybe ears. Do they have ears? I think so. They would have to have ears, right? So I feel like an ear hole would be pretty good. That would be a nasty one. Speaker 2 (11:58) Open Speaker 1 (11:58) their Speaker 2 (11:58) mouth. Back of the mouth is pretty good. Yeah. Probably shoot out the teeth. That'd be the thing, to shoot out their teeth. It's like at the fair where you have to knock those things Speaker 1 (12:09) over. Just Speaker 2 (12:10) like shoot out all their teeth. Speaker 1 (12:11) They're just going to gum you to death. Yeah. Speaker 2 (12:13) Oh, well, that's actually kind of nice. It's good pressure. Thank you. Yeah. Speaker 1 (12:20) Yeah. Speaker 2 (12:21) Anyways, Speaker 1 (12:21) that's Speaker 2 (12:22) good. Let's go with that. Speaker 1 (12:22) Jacob Sinoski. Speaker 2 (12:25) Sinoski. Sinoski. Speaker 1 (12:27) Sinoski. Sinoski. Yeah, I guess there's not an A. I don't know. If you were in an SHTF situation, would you rather have unlimited food and water, but it constantly gives you aggressive diarrhea, or you have unlimited weapons and ammo, but the enemy is extremely hard to kill? And always somehow in a conflict or fight. Sounds terrible. The last one sounds terrible. Yeah, Speaker 2 (12:48) I don't want that conflict all the time. No. Speaker 1 (12:51) Unless, yeah, maybe he's like, I'm ready for a good butt all the time. I Speaker 2 (12:54) mean, I Speaker 1 (12:54) guess Speaker 2 (12:54) describe Speaker 1 (12:55) aggressive diarrhea. That's true. What does that mean? That is true. If you're like sweating, like gripping the toilet seat every time you go to the bathroom. Speaker 2 (13:03) I mean, I've been there. But Speaker 1 (13:05) listen. Look. Yeah. That was kind of my thing is like, I would definitely want the food and water even if I deal with poor. pretty much deal with weekly. Yeah. Episodes of. unexpected diarrhea. So I'm already kind of trained. You're ready for it. You're not really trained for like the extremely hard to kill and not at all coming at you all Speaker 2 (13:24) the time. No, not at Speaker 1 (13:25) all. Unless Speaker 2 (13:26) that enemy is aggressive diarrhea. Right. Yeah. It's like, that's kind of what I said. There's been times in my life where this has been a thing. Yeah. Not anymore, which is odd. I don't know. I stopped sleeping and then the diarrhea goes away. It's really odd, but, uh, there has been times down the way gets kicked by a donkey. I was going back. Speaker 1 (13:46) Kicked Speaker 2 (13:46) by a mule or whatever. But yeah, give me the diarrhea or give me death. Yeah. It may be your death. That's Speaker 1 (13:54) a Speaker 2 (13:54) quote. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know. That's kind of what I would Speaker 1 (13:57) go for. Speaker 2 (13:57) But the food Speaker 1 (13:57) and water, I mean, if you can just keep eating and drinking. Right. I can counter the diarrhea. Speaker 2 (14:02) Yeah, you can just keep those Speaker 1 (14:04) electrolytes up. Speaker 2 (14:05) Maybe. Yeah. This came from Inaka underscore Pete. Inaka Pete. Inaka Pete. I'm getting a free house on the ocean front in Hokkaido, Japan. Hokkaido, Japan. How would you prep in case of a tsunami? First off, what the crap, dude? I just, you know, free house. I don't care to help you. Yeah, it's like free house. That sounds Speaker 1 (14:28) pretty cool. I know. But the tsunamis Speaker 2 (14:31) are scary. Tsunamis can be deadly. Yeah. And so you do have to worry about that. The problem is there's not a lot you can do. You can't build like a seawall. No. I mean, maybe you can. You're getting a free house. Oh, I'm getting Speaker 1 (14:43) a free seawall, too. Oh, yeah. Forgot I got a 30-foot seawall. Comes with it. Speaker 2 (14:48) If that's the case, you're probably golden. Yeah. If not, there's really not much you can do to, like, keep the tsunami away. You're on the Speaker 1 (14:58) shore. Speaker 2 (14:58) It Speaker 1 (14:59) happens. Speaker 2 (14:59) Get Speaker 1 (14:59) a Speaker 2 (14:59) pilot license and make your own helicopter. Yeah. Have a bug-out bag because that could be helpful because you're going to have to go quick. Know the tsunami evacuation routes. Because that's how you're going to have to get out and have a plan to get to higher ground. Maybe like a rock-a-gator. A rock-a-gator would be great. Throw that on and you can float with it if you had to. Yeah. You know? But yeah, you really can't do much. Yeah. Like you're, again, seawalls. That's a terrifying Speaker 1 (15:24) scenario to think about. I Speaker 2 (15:26) know. Have we talked about Speaker 1 (15:27) tsunamis? Kind of. Pretty sure. But I don't think we're right. You don't think we're right about them? Yeah. About the tsunamis? Never lived through one. I've seen videos. That would be hard. Even if I was offered a free house and it was in a tsunami area, I'm like, I don't know if I would. I would take it. That's Speaker 2 (15:46) a Speaker 1 (15:46) scary thing to deal with. We talked specifically about Fukushima, Speaker 2 (15:50) right? Speaker 1 (15:51) I think so. Speaker 2 (15:52) So there was a tsunami there. We talked
