Speaker 1 (0:24) Hey guys, welcome back to Brick and Connor Makeup Podcast. It's a brand new day. Speaker 1 (0:29) What are you doing? What Speaker 2 (0:30) am I doing? Speaker 1 (0:32) For the audio only listeners, Brooke is giving someone a mammogram. Speaker 2 (0:37) Nope. Speaker 1 (0:38) What are you doing? Speaker 2 (0:39) Oh, Speaker 1 (0:40) six, seven. Okay. Speaker 2 (0:41) Because you're my seven, six, seven king. Speaker 1 (0:45) Oh, thank you. Okay, so we're going to get, we'll get right into the. I mean, Speaker 2 (0:48) what else is there to do? Well, Speaker 1 (0:49) then we'll just segment it and I'll cut us off. I want to say start. Speaker 2 (0:52) No one wants you to cut me off. Speaker 1 (0:54) I'm going to cut myself off. Speaker 2 (0:56) I'm going to reverse. I Speaker 1 (0:58) don't want anyone to get tired of. Speaker 2 (0:59) No. Connor, this is a once in a lifetime. This is once in a lifetime. Speaker 1 (1:05) Every Speaker 2 (1:05) single person is watching. Like, we'll never get to do that again. You know? Oh my Speaker 1 (1:11) God, that's sad. We're all Speaker 2 (1:12) on the same boat and in it too. Speaker 1 (1:15) We're in the same boat. We're on Speaker 2 (1:16) it. We're in it. Speaker 1 (1:17) I hope you have your sea legs. Speaker 2 (1:19) Oh, I put my sea legs on this morning. Speaker 1 (1:21) Did you? Yeah. Wow. Speaker 2 (1:23) What are sea legs? Speaker 1 (1:25) I don't know. You just used to be on the poop deck, which I know you know you're wearing on the poop deck. Girl. Come on, poop deck. Speaker 2 (1:33) Girl. Oh, I have to tell you something housekeeping related really quick. Speaker 1 (1:36) Hit me with the housekeeping. Speaker 2 (1:38) I know your birthday was like a long time ago, but I've been working on something. Yeah. And I'm hoping that it will be ready by next week. Okay. Speaker 1 (1:47) And Speaker 2 (1:48) it's something that we can all experience. Oh, Speaker 1 (1:50) fun. Yeah. So that's Speaker 2 (1:51) something to look forward to. I'm getting a little bit antsy. Speaker 1 (1:54) Well. So Speaker 2 (1:54) fingers crossed for next week. Speaker 1 (1:56) That's exciting for everyone. That's Speaker 2 (1:58) all I have to say. Cool. I Speaker 1 (1:59) didn't Speaker 2 (1:59) want to think I didn't get you anything for your birthday. I Speaker 1 (2:02) forgot about that. I didn't even have a birthday. Thank you. I'm excited. Yeah, Speaker 2 (2:06) I'm excited too. I'm a little bit nervous. Speaker 1 (2:08) Okay. Speaker 2 (2:09) Yeah. Speaker 1 (2:11) Can I be honest about something? Speaker 2 (2:12) Yeah. Speaker 1 (2:13) I came in a little bit heated. Yeah. Rivalry. Speaker 2 (2:17) Because I didn't get your birthday present? Speaker 1 (2:18) Yeah, because of the birthday. No, because I was making a turn into a parking structure. That'll happen. And slowly inching my way because there was so much traffic, but they were letting me through. And a biker runs through the thing and like yells at me and then pulls his bike to the curb and just continues to yell at me. And like, I understand like as a biker, you're... you're constantly fighting an uphill battle because it seems like everyone against you because we are. Speaker 2 (2:44) But Speaker 1 (2:45) like one infrastructure needs to be better for bikers so that they can stay the hell away from everybody. I'm all for like carless cities and walkable cities, but like, this is not the world we live in right now. Okay. Even though like, I understand like this person in their completely skin tight, adult man, skin tight outfit as a hobby, me and my. Pink just talks last night. Millette just yelling at me. I'm like, you're putting this is a choice you made this morning. Speaker 2 (3:15) Someone yelled at me last week. Speaker 1 (3:17) Yeah. Speaker 2 (3:18) But I couldn't see what he was saying. And he just kept saying the same thing over and over again. And I was like so upset beyond belief. And I thought I think he was saying line because he was crossing the crosswalk. And like, I think he was suggesting that I was like blocking it. But I wasn't. And then I realized like five minutes later that my lights were off. Speaker 1 (3:42) Oh, lights. So Speaker 2 (3:43) he was saying lights. And I had spent so much time being angry at him when really he didn't deserve it. So maybe the situation is different in a way like that. Speaker 1 (3:55) Maybe he Speaker 2 (3:56) was telling you congratulations on your 767. Speaker 1 (4:00) Oh my gosh, you're right. Speaker 2 (4:01) Yeah. Speaker 1 (4:02) Hmm, Brooke. Perspective is everything. Yeah, Speaker 2 (4:04) he probably recognized you. Speaker 1 (4:06) Thank you for that. Speaker 2 (4:07) Yeah, of course. That's really Speaker 1 (4:07) sweet. Speaker 2 (4:08) Perspective is a good thing to have. Speaker 1 (4:10) Well, yeah. So last night, our scores were like the best, obviously, we've ever had out of the three. Yeah. Speaker 2 (4:17) It Speaker 1 (4:17) feels like I've been doing this for two and a half years. I mean, you did Speaker 2 (4:19) amazing. Speaker 1 (4:19) Thank you. Really? You mean that? Of Speaker 2 (4:21) course. I would have loved to see more of you. The camera was like not showing me your feet. Speaker 1 (4:27) Yeah. Obviously, like I I can't watch it. So but like the camera guy was getting kind of flamed in the comment section. Yeah. Speaker 2 (4:34) So there was like a solid five seconds where it was just like zoomed in on your mullet, which like awesome. I love the mullet. But like I want to see my friend's feet as he is dancing. So that was hard. But like you, you looked amazing. And I know you were amazing. Speaker 1 (4:51) Oh, thanks. Speaker 2 (4:52) Yeah. You were completely. I thought you were going to get three sevens. And might I say, I was surprised that it was Derek that gave you the six. Not that a six is bad by any means. A six is freaking fabulous. But he seemed really excited. So I was confused by that. Speaker 1 (5:08) Yeah. The one piece of feedback he actually came up to me after and was just like, the suit was an oversized suit for 80s themed because it was like yacht rock and there was too much fabric on the shoulders. So when I was in frame, which frame, everyone has had an opinion on frame. I totally. I had dropped my elbow a little bit, which just sucks because I've been putting grocery bags on my on my crevices of my elbows in my apartment so that I can hold and I put like candles and like bottles of shampoo in them just so that it weighs. Yeah, I could get like weighted bracelets, Bala bracelets, but I had forgotten about those. So I've been walking around in frame in my apartment. And of course, the one time I dropped my elbow a little bit is show day. Speaker 1 (5:47) And then I think that there was... Speaker 2 (5:49) You're so good that now we're focused on those little technicalities. And my butt. Speaker 1 (5:54) Bruno's comment was about tucking my butt, keeping my butt in. It was so nice to get the Bruno that I know. Be like, oh my gosh, Bruno's here. Speaker 1 (6:05) And then the leading man comment, I, you know. Wow. Speaker 2 (6:10) How'd you feel about that? Speaker 1 (6:11) Congratulations to my mom. Speaker 2 (6:12) Yeah. That's what Speaker 1 (6:12) I want to say. Yeah, my scores were good. Congrats to my mom. Speaker 2 (6:16) But like, and you know, I'll give Carrie Ann credit when she earns it. Like she flipped that into something positive. You know, like you might not have been leading, which is fine. Not everyone has to lead all the time, by the way. Speaker 1 (6:30) Justice for Speaker 2 (6:31) followers. Breaking gender norms. Breaking gender norms, et cetera. But you were supporting. And supporting. can be even better than leading. I, Speaker 1 (6:41) there Speaker 2 (6:42) are, when I need. As a woman, sometimes I don't want, most of the times, I don't want to be led. I want to be supported. Am I a dancer? No. But just in life, I love your support. And I'm sure Riley did last night too. And Carrie Ann noticed that. Thank you, Carrie Ann. Speaker 1 (7:01) Carrie Ann, I really appreciate her feedback. I know that everyone has thought it to be harsh. I like the way she delivers things. That's the way that I deliver things. Speaker 2 (7:12) You Speaker 1 (7:12) like Speaker 2 (7:12) Such a Shame? Speaker 1 (7:14) It was Such a Shame. We performed it and it wasn't the best version of us performing it. That made sense to me. Speaker 2 (7:20) See, I do struggle with the delivery. She did something last night. I forget who it was, but it was akin to Such a Shame to me. It could have been... Taylor? Speaker 2 (7:32) Yeah. Someone stepped on someone's foot or something like that. Oh, it was Speaker 1 (7:36) Jenna Dewan. Oh, maybe Speaker 2 (7:38) it was Jenna. I don't know. Speaker 1 (7:41) Someone. Yeah, she Speaker 2 (7:42) was Speaker 1 (7:42) like. It was something. And then she started off Speaker 2 (7:45) with like, are you OK? Like, I know. I know it really hurts when you like and then just went into that fuck up. Speaker 2 (7:53) That didn't sit with me. Speaker 1 (7:54) Oh, there's Jenna Dewan. Speaker 2 (7:57) I don't care. Speaker 1 (7:58) He's going to be okay. He will be Speaker 2 (8:00) okay. But like, it's just like, to me. Speaker 1 (8:04) Yeah. Well, that's the nature of the job, I guess. Eric doesn't do it that way. Did you see my face? Speaker 1 (8:15) Yeah, but like Simon Cowell also doesn't, you know, Simon Cowell, someone has to like put Speaker 2 (8:19) the hammer down. Speaker 2 (8:22) Like nasty. Speaker 1 (8:23) Simon is a nasty individual. What's going on with him? Speaker 2 (8:26) I don't think anything good. Speaker 1 (8:27) Did he have something outside of American Idol that threw him into the deep end? Or was it Speaker 2 (8:32) just his actual personality? He was definitely going through. He was definitely under fire for a while. I think it was something to do with working people too hard. I think something had happened with a lot of people he worked with were either going through. You know Speaker 1 (8:51) what would be Speaker 2 (8:52) an incredible Speaker 1 (8:53) talent show? Speaker 1 (8:56) simon cowell then like tyra banks ellen degeneres and it's just titled welcome to hell Speaker 2 (9:04) Welcome Speaker 1 (9:04) to hell. Who brought my mattress? I'll be nice. I'll be nice. I Speaker 2 (9:07) don't get the who. I don't get the mattress part. Speaker 1 (9:09) I guess someone on Ellen said that she needed to travel with her mattress, which like. You get to assert. I'm sure you would love to travel with your mattress. I'm sure I would. I'd like to travel Speaker 2 (9:18) on my mattress. Speaker 2 (9:21) Like a lot far Speaker 1 (9:22) away. I had a dream that of like a haunting in Connecticut last night, but it was like my childhood I had Speaker 2 (9:27) a horrible nightmare about you But I can't tell you because this is about your birthday present. Speaker 1 (9:34) Okay. I'll tell Speaker 2 (9:35) you later. But don't Speaker 1 (9:37) be Speaker 2 (9:37) scared about your birthday present. Speaker 1 (9:39) I also I want to say two quick things. Could you see my face during the dance? Speaker 2 (9:44) Yeah. Because Speaker 1 (9:44) everyone's saying that like my face doesn't my face needs work. Speaker 2 (9:49) I would never say that about your face. Speaker 1 (9:50) Hollywood's taking a toll. They're saying my face needs work. What does Speaker 2 (9:52) that mean? Like medical work? Speaker 1 (9:54) No, like that was a fun dance. I need to be smiling. Speaker 2 (9:57) Oh, I didn't notice anything off. Speaker 1 (9:59) The lighting is. Speaker 1 (10:04) so unfortunate in that room. Unless you have great like a bone structure like Ezra or Val. Speaker 2 (10:10) I think you look great. Speaker 1 (10:12) Thanks. I think that like Speaker 1 (10:15) The shading of the mullet did strip away my... Speaker 1 (10:20) Granted, it was part of the costume. It stripped away any form of like jawline. So it was just kind of like a straight up thing. And I was getting a couple of comments that I noticed. He looks like the actor from The Last of Us. And someone said. Speaker 2 (10:33) Pedro. Speaker 1 (10:35) Someone said, did you mean... Speaker 2 (10:41) Bella Ramsey? Yeah, Speaker 1 (10:42) Bella Ramsey. Speaker 1 (10:45) Next, he looks like my aunt. She smoked a lot of cigarettes in the 90s. Speaker 1 (10:50) And then someone just commented, my aunts did wonderful tonight. Speaker 2 (10:53) I loved that. Did anyone say anything about Coach Beast? Speaker 1 (10:56) Who's Coach Beast? Did Speaker 2 (10:57) anyone say anything about that? Because if not, it's not even. Speaker 1 (10:59) Well, no, last night I decided to unplug because it would be best for my health. Okay, yeah. Yeah. Speaker 2 (11:03) I'm not saying you look like Coach Beast at all, but with the mullet, there was, there was a, some, I was thinking of her. Can Speaker 1 (11:10) I see Coach Beast? Speaker 2 (11:11) No, no, no. We don't have to pull Coach Beast up. I Speaker 1 (11:13) think I want to see Coach Beast. The mullet's gone. I was going to wear it today, but oh, God. It Speaker 2 (11:18) was just the mullet. It was just the mullet that was giving a little bit. I love the mullet, though. Speaker 1 (11:24) You didn't Speaker 2 (11:24) look like Coach Beast. It was just something brought Coach Beast up for me. But I also, the mullet gave me a few different things. Like on one hand, I was like, I love it. I like it. I love it. And then on one hand, I was like, it's interesting. Speaker 2 (11:44) You know what I mean? Speaker 1 (11:45) Did it give you any good things? Speaker 2 (11:47) I just said I like it. I love it. Speaker 1 (11:48) Okay. Speaker 2 (11:50) You didn't look like Coach Beast. Speaker 1 (11:52) Okay. Well, that's hard. I love Speaker 2 (11:54) Coach Beast. Speaker 1 (11:55) Right. Personality wise. Speaker 2 (11:57) No. And physically. Speaker 1 (12:00) I don't know anything about Coach Beast's character. I don't know Coach Beast's heart. But Speaker 2 (12:04) I do feel like that those photos weren't indicative of Coach Beast. I think definitely was rocking maybe like a Speaker 1 (12:11) mullet at one point. Coach Speaker 2 (12:11) Beast Speaker 1 (12:11) at a glance was more. Speaker 1 (12:14) Hantom woman? Speaker 2 (12:16) Yeah, that's fine. Yeah. Speaker 1 (12:17) I Speaker 2 (12:17) do think, you know, Coach Beast was in glee. I think that... Coach B's transition halfway through the season, but I don't know about real life. Speaker 1 (12:26) Okay. Speaker 2 (12:26) So. Speaker 2 (12:28) It's hard for me to say. Speaker 1 (12:30) I didn't see. I had no knowledge. Speaker 2 (12:32) Maybe you'll walk Lee now that you know Harry. Yeah. Speaker 1 (12:35) Harry looks good in his mustache last night. He Speaker 2 (12:37) looked great in his mustache. Yeah. Speaker 1 (12:39) Everyone's saying that. Well, when Kenzie and Carson came last week to the show. Yeah. Speaker 2 (12:44) They Speaker 1 (12:45) said it was like bone chilling how much we look like. Speaker 2 (12:48) You and Harry? Yeah. Speaker 1 (12:49) They were like it was freaking. I can Speaker 2 (12:51) see it. Speaker 1 (12:54) Okay. Speaker 2 (12:55) I can definitely see that now that you said that. Speaker 1 (12:58) Okay. Yeah. Speaker 2 (13:00) I don't want anyone to think I was insulting Connor when I said Coach Beast came up for me. No, Speaker 1 (13:04) no, no. Listen, I can Speaker 2 (13:04) take Speaker 1 (13:04) it. I can definitely take it. Okay. Now that I have this almost, like I'm cool to move on past dancing now. Oh, I'm not. Speaker 2 (13:12) I have so much to say, but about other, just a few other takes that I have about other people. Can Speaker 1 (13:17) I really quickly just knock these out really quick? Are they Speaker 2 (13:20) dance? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Speaker 1 (13:22) One, sorry I was miserable last week. That was my first note in this. It's funny to go from the show and then the first people I talk to is this thing that everyone watches. So it's hard for me to shake my personality. You Speaker 2 (13:33) weren't Speaker 1 (13:33) miserable. I was very negative last week. No, you weren't. I didn't need to be. You were not. And I'm going to be a little bit negative this week. That's fine. I talked about this when I first came in. I just like... As soon as I get off the stage after performing, I get like... Speaker 1 (13:50) like post not clarity of like why did I do that Speaker 2 (13:54) Like you get the ick from yourself. I get the ick. I totally. Like you should not. Speaker 1 (13:58) Oh, like, well, like last night I got like really hyper because I was excited. And then I was like, what are you doing? Calm down. I have totally Speaker 2 (14:04) felt that way. Like Speaker 1 (14:06) I was going like this in the background and I saw and I was like, oh my gosh, no. I Speaker 2 (14:12) feel that way often. Speaker 1 (14:15) You know, and then I convinced myself that like we didn't deserve the scores that we got. And it's like they. We've seen historically that they're very comfortable giving scores that we deserve. So I I need to get through that and then Speaker 1 (14:29) The week went so the the one kind of misstep that I had that wasn't like a literal misstep. It was just kind of like Jumpy which sucks is that's really smooth dance the foxtrot was in the corner We went back to the corner that I don't like on the dance for the front left corner. We were in the corner Speaker 1 (14:46) I was wearing new shoes. You have Speaker 2 (14:48) like PTS from that corner. I Speaker 1 (14:50) really don't like that corner. And like to get through it, I've been, we've been going to that corner. I'm like, I know exposure Speaker 2 (14:55) therapy. I'm Speaker 1 (14:56) familiar with the corner and there's actually other, the cast of glee was in that corner. Speaker 2 (15:00) That's incredible. Speaker 1 (15:01) I keep having like my friends from my life come and like, I think I need to start having like. some characters from Glee sit in my, next to my parents. I Speaker 2 (15:10) wouldn't mind. I would honestly like to curate an invite list. Speaker 1 (15:16) I would like, and I Speaker 2 (15:17) would like to be seated there as well. Speaker 1 (15:19) Cool. If you don't mind going through my contacts. Happy to do it. Who are your Speaker 2 (15:23) contacts that are on Glee? Speaker 1 (15:24) I don't have any. I'm saying, for example, like Harry to Glee, me too. people that I've okay I'll curate my Speaker 2 (15:31) like dream blunt rotation of your friends and put me in coach thank Speaker 1 (15:35) you yeah Speaker 2 (15:35) so that sounds good to me so Speaker 1 (15:38) next week we're dancing to touch my body by Mariah Carey and Speaker 2 (15:42) if if you boot me from the ballroom next week I will riot no Speaker 1 (15:46) one's getting booted from the ballroom you're not I will be I Speaker 2 (15:49) have to be there Speaker 1 (15:49) yes hey Speaker 2 (15:50) guys we want to take a break to thank a sponsor of today's episode Warby Parker I feel like getting new glasses used to be one of those things I would put off because somehow it always became a much bigger process than it needed to be. You have to figure out where to go, make the appointment, check your insurance, and then once you finally have your prescription, you're going somewhere else to actually find glasses. That's one of the reasons I love Warby Parker. They've made the whole experience so much easier. You can go into one of their stores, get an eye exam there, and then shop for your glasses, contacts, or sunglasses all in one place. Speaker 1 (16:23) Warby Parker makes the process feel way
