Speaker 5 (0:00) So, Kwai is exactly what we needed, and I'll tell you why. Speaker 1 (0:02) Not just because of her bubbly personality and the quirkiness of everything, and we were missing that character in Salt Lake, but I'll tell you why. This is exactly what we Speaker 3 (0:12) needed to finally paint a full picture of what Whitney does, why it's annoying, and Speaker 5 (0:20) why we needed to stop. Because she has backed herself into the ultimate corner with this one between everybody. And Kwai was the straw that broke the camel's back. So I'm very happy that Kwai is here. Speaker 2 (0:31) I'll do you one better. Lisa and Meredith needed a friend. If this is how the teams are going to be shaking out, if it's going to be Team Bronwyn, And we've got everybody on that side. I think Heather might float. Maybe. I've got a theory that Heather floats. I will get into that as we get into the episode. I'm hoping and praying that she floats a little bit. But more than anything, because Meredith tends to check out, Lisa mostly needed a friend. A friend that's actually going to go to bat for her. That's going to feel alienated off the bat. And if Lisa can just rub her back a little bit and tell her everything's going to be okay, she gets a friend instantly. And that's what this show needed. Speaker 6 (1:08) Oh man, it's 8 o'clock. Speaker 4 (1:15) I don't need the spotlight. I shine just fine. Speaker 6 (1:19) Hi, I'm Karma. And yes, I am a bitch. Speaker 2 (1:23) Good Speaker 3 (1:23) evening, everybody. Good morning. What time is it? 1142. Good morning, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of Brav Bros, your favorite podcast from the bros for everybody. For whoever wants to listen, I am your co-host, Steel Russell, joined as always by the one and only Saint Magooter. What's up, dude? Speaker 2 (1:46) Yeah, St. Patrick's Day. I'm going to get right into what everybody wants to know. The Heather book has not moved. It has not gone further away. It has not gotten any closer. Speaker 3 (1:57) Whoa, whoa, whoa. It got closer from day one, but it hasn't gotten closer since that day. Speaker 2 (2:03) Ultimate Girls Trip, I believe, was when I removed it after the fiasco that we saw when we were... Where was that? Atlanta? I guess when we were in Atlanta. That's where... It all started. Heather's book got removed completely from behind me and moved all the way to the other end of the bookcase. Actually, off of the bookcase. It is back on the bookcase as of episode two of Salt Lake City. It has not moved since. We're only on episode three, so it's not like there's Speaker 1 (2:28) a Speaker 2 (2:28) whole lot of change here. She had a chance. The beginning of this episode, her in a solo scene with LB, we didn't get a whole lot from it, so I don't know exactly what was going on, but she had a chance to move a little closer because that's what we want. I'm not saying... We want Heather to be full team Lisa, full team Meredith, full the other side, because I'll be very honest, the Bronwyn crew is pissing me off beyond belief. It's Speaker 1 (2:53) probably common. I think everyone's feeling that. Speaker 2 (2:56) I don't think it is. It's the weirdest thing. People are on their side. I was watching Watch What Happens Live because Mary was on it. People are on Bronwyn's side. Ricky Lake was on there. Apparently she's a Heather Whitney stan, which... Speaker 1 (3:10) First time I heard that. She's the only one. Speaker 2 (3:13) But she's not because then they go to the audience and they're asking about Angie's toothbrush move. Was that shady? Bullshit. That was so stupid. Then they're asking about... Brahma just got a lot more votes than I really expected. I thought that the general public watching this show, because Salt Lake has entered into, quite unfortunately, the OC Beverly Hills gang. who only watch those shows. They also now watch Salt Lake. Oh, I know. I don't care for the opinions of those people. I'll be very honest. I like everybody who watches all of the shows, has a good idea of where all the shows stand, enjoys the good ones, and then also can look at Beverly Hills No Sea and say, ugh, absolutely not. Salt Lake, people are fans of Bronwyn, and I don't quite get it. And I hope, actually, you know what? It's good for us if we're the contrarian, because maybe we can set some people straight. Speaker 3 (4:06) I was looking on Twitter as you said that. It's still... Speaker 1 (4:11) That's what I thought. Yeah, no, most people on Twitter are on our side of the street. Yeah, but what Speaker 2 (4:16) are you looking at? Are you looking at our algorithm on Twitter? Speaker 1 (4:19) No, I Speaker 2 (4:20) just Speaker 1 (4:20) searched Roslick and like latest tweets. And it's a lot of people on our side of the street. I would imagine. Yeah, people Speaker 3 (4:27) like why they're frustrated with Bronwyn. I think with the show, first of all, the voting thing, I've always I don't I don't trust that. But I think you can probably chalk that up. Speaker 1 (4:40) to the same crew that watches Beverly Hills, no C because they're quote unquote, the best franchises out there, but they don't keep up with everything else are watching TV live as Speaker 3 (4:50) well. So they're probably the people voting the streamers. Yeah. Us. We are the ones that are saying, Speaker 1 (4:55) no, they Speaker 3 (4:56) stink. Speaker 1 (4:57) There was a really, we got a DM. That was really funny. Uh, that kind of proves what we're talking about. Let me see if I can find it. Yeah. Uh, from. I don't know if I want to dox her because I think her mom is in this group. Speaker 2 (5:13) Yeah, leave her out. But anyway, Speaker 1 (5:14) somebody Speaker 3 (5:14) messaged us and said, I have to tell my bravbros what happened this week. On a local Facebook mom page, someone asked about which Housewives franchise is the best. Myself and two others Speaker 5 (5:25) were the only ones who did not say Beverly Hills and OC. So many of the women said they are good from start to present, and I said absolutely not. So there is this crew of people that just assume OC Speaker 1 (5:35) and Beverly Hills are the good ones. the best out there. So those are the people that are voting. I believe I'd watch what happens live, Speaker 2 (5:42) but most likely, yeah. Salt Lake has crept into that position though. It's sort of the third show of, yeah, I'm all caught up on OC. Of course, I'm all caught up on Beverly Hills, of course. And then they'll throw in Salt Lake city. It's just something that I've noticed recently over the last couple of seasons, probably since the Monica Garcia season, that was enough to kind of throw it out there. So I am a little worried at that for that. I'm. less worried by the end of this episode because of the projection that I have in my own brain for where this show is going to go. And that's something that we are going to be reasonably skeptical about, the two of us, probably me more so than you. I think you want it to be so good that you have so much more hope, whereas I'm just analytics. I just don't like the idea that we're going to have a Bronwyn, Heather, Whitney, Angie crew. going after lisa now kwe and meredith like i want them to be able to stand up for themselves and i know what we've expected from meredith maybe maybe the facelift has done more than just make her look great maybe it's rejuvenated her personality on this show and she will get involved in those things but in the past two seasons three seasons meredith kind of checks out at some point yes she'll have her lash outs but she's not really there every single day Lisa just takes a licking. If you throw quiet into there, at least it spreads out a little bit. So we might have a little bit more of an even matchup here. I just do not like where that one side of the group is heading. I don't care for it. The toothbrush thing was fucking stupid. The flip flop from Bronwyn is so stupid. We'll talk well more about that later. It's just, there's too many, too many signs out there, too many warning signs out there for me, for those, for the people on that side. Speaker 1 (7:22) I get what you're saying. I'm taking this episode to episode. Personally, I thought this episode was great. I actually thoroughly enjoyed myself. I do see what you're saying as far as when it comes to that group teaming up specifically, we tend to know how it goes. They kind of do the same song and dance and it rarely lands. Why I'm not as hesitant Speaker 5 (7:44) this time is because you have the link with Kwai. Whitney does not want to. I've already clocked it. She doesn't want to lose that friendship in quiet. She really does. She's Speaker 2 (7:55) doing everything to lose that friendship. Yeah, she doesn't want to. She Speaker 5 (7:59) doesn't want to at all, but she's doing Whitney shit. And quiet is like, wait, who is this person? Because she hasn't dealt with on screen Whitney. And this is what she does. She takes a story or an event of something, goes to retell it. And misrepresents what actually happened. She changes specific words, not intentionally. I don't think she remembers what happened. And she just throws things out there because it sounds similar to what actually happened. Changes the entire scope of the scene. And then shows her ass because it comes back on her. It's like, wait, because I have both sides of this thing. Like, Whitney, what are you talking about? That's not what they said. That's not what I said. But they're here to like butt heads with one another with Whitney in the middle. Why I'm hopeful is because. With Kawhi joining Team Lisa, probably. she's going to be able to explain this whole thing, like how Whitney operates. On the other side, Bronwyn... She's a little high and mighty right now. She's definitely feeling that center snowflake, you can tell. But at the same time, I'm hoping that she's not so far gone that she can't hear reason. Because if we sit down as a group and this mellows out and we're able to discuss, you'll see one person on the outside looking in, and that is the cause of all of this. And Speaker 3 (9:14) that's Whitney. And it's been Whitney. It's always, always fucking Whitney. So if we can use all of this. That's why I framed the beginning of the episode the way I did. This has exposed her more so than ever because it's so cut and dry. It's so obvious. It did not need to turn into this whole snafu because it wasn't that big of a deal. If she had actually translated it, Kwai was saying, yeah, I like everybody so far. A couple of red flags, but we'll see how it goes. That's it. That's all that happened. But as soon Speaker 5 (9:45) as you sit down in the hotel room, Whitney's like, oof. She's not sure about you two. I'm like, God damn it. God damn it. That's not what happened, Whitney. And you're going to blow this whole thing up. And then the other ladies are going to use this as an opportunity to try to jump on board and go after somebody when there's no need to go after anybody because you want to get to know why. But like you said, the silver lining in this and why I'm hopeful for this season. Why Meredith and Lisa is very exciting to me. I like that. The other crew. Sure. It's the Island of misfit toys. Sort of. I have faith that we are going to be okay. We got to get through Angie, early season Angie, where she tries to push things. That's kind of her MO. And we got to hope that Heather's able to bop. If Heather can bop, it changes everything. If she's the floater like we want her to be, it really Speaker 3 (10:32) changes everything about this season. And I think we'll be okay. Like, I'm actually pretty hopeful. Speaker 2 (10:37) That's exactly what I want to see happen. Now, two things. One, I am sick and tired of the... misrepresentation of recapping a story that we watch on screen. I hate when they change the words around, twist things around, intentional or not. Whitney's is less intentional because I do think that she's... Other Speaker 1 (10:57) people's intentional. Whitney is never intentional. Speaker 2 (10:59) Whitney, it's like she's a dingbat. I like the term dingbat now because that's what we're talking about in other shows. Whitney is a dingbat. She definitely fucked up and used the wrong terminology, used the wrong verbiage, whatever it was. Everyone else, like, Bronwyn's is intentional. I'm so tired of Bronwyn. The other thing that you talked about, if it shapes up to be a Whitney takedown, I'll even throw Angie in there, that won't play out in an entertaining way. That won't play out in a fun way because those two are always and instantly in this season going to fall back on, I'm lashing out because of what's going on in my marriage. We see a little bit of it. We recap from scenes from next week. Angie sitting down talking about her marriage with Sean. We've already seen Whitney start to do it with Justin. Now she's not drinking. There's going to be fallbacks in there that are just simply not entertaining. Bronwyn is on cloud nine right now. I need an instant Bronwyn takedown. That's what I want. She is pissing me off beyond belief. They're not the island of misfit toys in their brain. They're the cool kids. And that is awful. That is terrible. And I need the other crew. I need now that Kauai is involved with Meredith and Lisa. I need those three to stand up and say, you guys aren't fucking cool. Like you're just not. And if Heather's not a part of that gang, they can't hang with Lisa, Meredith and Kauai. They just simply can't. So it's not really going to work out. And I'm fine with a full clash. Again, as long as you remove Heather from the other side and she kind of floats in the middle. That's exactly the way that the show should go. And it should be circled on a full takedown of what the fuck is Bravo doing? All right. So she married Todd. He's Speaker 1 (12:34) a Speaker 2 (12:34) fucking weirdo. She's taking all of his money. I don't care if she says like, yeah, there's a reason there's a way in which he can fuck me. The way she's acting right now, Todd can't fuck her. The way that she's doing things with Brandon out in public, fuck Speaker 1 (12:45) her Speaker 2 (12:45) over. It's just the way that they said it. But that's not going to happen. And she is riding this high. She's the cool kid. She's taking cigarettes from people on the walk, which is so planned. And I know what she's doing. And it's something that a lot of people have already accused her of doing. She reads all the comments. She sees how people want people to act on these shows. And she tries to produce in the show. And she's also riding on a big high right now. I need a takedown. I need a takedown right away because I didn't like what she was doing last year. don't like what she's doing this year, and she's getting to have full head of steam. I just need her to be met. Maybe not full takedown. Maybe not like make her go cry in a corner, but make her realize that this is not her show. This should be, and always will be in my head, a Lisa Barlow show. Lisa needs to show up and let everybody know who the fuck she is. That's what I want. Speaker 1 (13:35) And I think she will. And I think that's what, and then we'll jump into this episode. I think that's. like when i watch this episode that's what's taking shape for me and i thought that it was entertaining like yeah we get the angie stuff but like i'm used to that by now and i i'm hopeful i think why is going to be that missing piece that we needed for the lb meredith mark side of the street because we we have seen too many times those two kind of check out because there is no path forward because dumb dumb dumber and dumbest don't allow for them to talk so I think why is that that bridge that we needed? I think Heather being back, Speaker 5 (14:09) at least for now, in the middle ground where she's just kind of fun and funny. Perfect. Speaker 1 (14:15) But it's going to be interesting to watch it shake out and opening up with this Oscars thing, because Heather and LB are sitting there chatting about the Oscars. And Lisa's like, oh, I get invited all the time. I just never go to the Oscars. Immediately, I'm like, that's not true. There's no way it would turn out something like that. Speaker 2 (14:31) No. So this is what I think is the truth. I bet you she does get invited or her brand gets invited, but it's not what she wants. She doesn't get the red carpet access. She doesn't get all of the access to the celebrities. She's not getting pictures taken of her. She's actually up in the nosebleeds. That's what they're giving her. And she can show up and she can promote Vita or whatever else brands she's doing for throwing parties. That's all they really want. And she's also obviously part of the NBC family, which we'll talk about later because. You know, don't diminish my role as a housewife who's on the red carpet, Bronwyn says. That pissed me off beyond belief. You wouldn't be there if you weren't Speaker 1 (15:04) a Speaker 2 (15:04) housewife, so stop it. Otherwise, I'll move on to that later. But for LB, I think she gets invited. I think her brand gets invited to the Oscars camp, if you will. Sort of like how we got invited to be in that producer, influencer house for the Super Bowl that one year. I don't really know what this... We weren't invited to the Super Bowl. We were invited to be part of the Super Bowl stuff. That's kind of what I think Lisa's being invited for. And then she gets to go sit up in the rafters. She's not sitting with Ben Affleck down there, Jennifer Gardner, or whoever else she was hanging out with. Those are her friends. But she doesn't get the friend ticket. She gets the, oh, yeah, you're doing advertisements for this. Sure, yeah, you can be in the second level. And she doesn't want to do it because she thinks she's better than that, which is the illusion that we want for a housewife. But I bet she probably does get invited. She just doesn't want to go. under that guise she would much rather be there and be able to get her picture taken on the red carpet Speaker 1 (15:58) Take this for what it is. But according to Twitter, I don't know if they could check the invite list, but according to Twitter, she's never been invited to the Oscars. I would imagine somewhere like, I don't think she's allowed in. I do think that Vita, hey, do you want a booth like the Oscar row? Which is also, that's, Speaker 2 (16:19) yeah, that's just, yeah, the Oscars row is the best way to put it. That's, that's. what she's getting invited for and obviously lisa's not gonna tell you the full truth because if she admits that she doesn't have an actual ticket to the oscars where she wants to sit then everybody can be like oh okay that's why you're not going she wants everybody to think she's invited and under the you know whatever threshold that she wants to go under and sit in the front row or all those things but she just turns it down that sounds cooler in her head so that's what she's doing you have to kind of read between the lines with lisa so i think she's invited but not where she wants to be. Speaker 1 (16:53) Yeah, but... So Mary, meanwhile, is with her team member, Ashley, and she's getting ready for Angie to come over. This was just a funny scene to me. This is why I love Mary, because they're setting crackers on a plate. But Speaker 3 (17:07) you got to do it with love. And as poor Ashley tries to put the crackers on the plate, she's like, well, what are you doing? That's not love. I got Speaker 5 (17:17) this. I like push her to the side and does it herself. It's been two weeks since everything Speaker 1 (17:22) had happened since the service for Robert Jr. And she's working her way through it. She's compartmentalizing, trying to stay positive and everything. And Angie Kay arrives and there's pictures on the flowers. You do see her, not break, that's not the right word, but just you can see that she is navigating this very carefully. She's not ready for certain things. So there's a picture of Robert Jr. on the orchid. It's like, please don't do that. Not yet. But the Speaker 5 (17:47) biggest. Overall sentiment from Mary, and this also gives me confidence in this season, in this show, is the fact that she is still talking about how much she's been leaning on the ladies, how much they all showed up for her, this family dynamic that she's describing, because I think what that gives us, which we've lost in seasons past, especially the last two seasons, shit breaks down so much, and these lines get drawn so firmly in the sand that people aren't crossing them. If we have this constant reminder of like, whoa, whoa, let's remember the root of all of this, which is kind of what Mary's able to do with the group. I do have a lot of hope, a lot more than I've had, that we can move past stupid shit. That if we get stuck on the trivial things that we tend to get stuck on, the LB of it all, Meredith not doing something, Heather being Speaker 1 (18:37) Heather, Speaker 5 (18:38) now Speaker 1 (18:38) Bronwyn being Bronwyn. I think having that anchor of like, whoa, let's check ourselves a little bit. Let's not go too far. Because that's one of the snafus that this show runs into a lot is we go a little bit too far. And then it's impossible to reel it in, go to the reunion, shit falls apart. We have no idea where we stand, start the season on rocky ground. All of that is kind of the formula of the past couple of seasons. So having this as like an anchor, a reminder, like, hey. We all love each other. Let's not forget that. I think it's going to add a different layer to this season. Speaker 2 (19:14) That is very hopeful. I imagine that these women have moved on with their lives and they're not thinking about that. In terms of like, yes, obviously they're thinking about Mary and making sure she's good. The sisterhood thing is over within a week with these women, for sure. I don't think so. They're already starting it. They're in San Francisco. They're in a new city. They don't give a shit. I think they're going to be reminded about it when they talk to Mary because Mary's role this season. Look, it's always great to see her, and it's great to see her in this capacity too, with her sitting down and just wanting to hear from Angie what's going on with everybody. That is going to be her role. She's going to be the check-in, the storyteller, the, okay, now Heather and Whitney are coming over to my house. We're going to sit down and talk about a couple of things, but I'm just kind of checking in to see what's going on with the group. And yeah, she's going to lightly remind them, okay, yeah, there's shenanigans, and then you guys kind of cross the line where it's getting a little too messy, a
